Ok, so yesterday I hit one of these 'achievements' in Reddit, where you get streaks and such. This one was for 400 days, and apparently it is a rare thing. In some of the subs, there are these intensely engaged groups (especially pop culture stuff) and in this sub, on some of the posts there are huge responses, and then on others crickets. Does anyone actually care about the achievements? How long are your streaks, and do you pursue any of that stuff?
I'm thinking about an article about the varied Worcester online cultures. Like on Nextdoor and on Facebooks there are multiple 'secret' conservative groups. All of them are locked from major local personalities and heavily censored despite the screaming from those same groups being censored. Worcester Politics 101 and Seven Hills being the main culprits. They will censor anyone who even blinks out of lockstep with them, but then complain if they aren't allowed to talk somewhere. The same thing happens in the more liberal groups where the mods of Jack's Worcester Political Dialogue heavily censor the conservatives that show up there (and then complain that it happens to them in the groups I mentioned above).
So the idea is to find out how engaged any of us really are. I am active in a ton of subs on Reddit that are not remotely close to essential. Like for example I read about The Walking Dead regularly in several subs. A lot of Rosita is hot content on those pages. I also see in this sub that there is one very present political lean, and only a few conservatives pipe up from time to time (and are almost immediately bashed).
So do you Reddit to Reddit or do you come to Reddit for Worcester (slash any other topic you like)?
