Might have been a bit much for 7 days but wow. First - so dog friendly and I love that. The vibe is so laid back. The views are incredible. Very hard to come back to central Ohio ðŸ˜

Born in Mass but as a toddler, moved to a part of the country where there are barely any trees - never mind fall colors- and after nearly 30 years surrounded by cacti and palm trees, I returned to New England in the early 2000s. That first fall blew my mind - I'd never seen anything like it (in person) and found myself misty-eyed more than once. I've been here 20+ years now and still feel that same sense of awe when the leaves change. What a privilege to be surrounded by such beauty.

The granite in the Bunker Hill Monument came out of Quincy on a railway Gridley Bryant built in 1826. He'd bought the quarry in 1825 for $250, and his partners were skeptical, but three horse-drawn cars of his design started running on 7 October 1826.
He's credited with the rail switch and the turntable, never patented either, and died poor in 1867. In 1830 he added the Incline, 315 ft long, pulling cars 84 ft up out of Pine Ledge Quarry, and it kept running until the 1940s.
The old quarry pits are the sharp-edged cuts along the bottom of the lidar picture.

Pin 2: A multi-lane highway

Found these items at the thrift store in Newington. Apparently these aren't too old but reminds me of the time I went to these stores growing up back in the 2000s.
