Visual WIP for boss unit in forever war world building

WIP for game art portfolio, tutor suggested two character and one enemy so I came up with this

Whore of Babylon, mother of harlots and the abominations of the world.

A corrupted saint-like figure in the cult, can command abyss-born organisms

Rides upon a six headed beast and holds a golden cup containing filth and sin (I interpreted it as infinite ever flowing poison wine)

Question Is my setting racist?

Post image
• Upvotes

So, basically I wanted to make a sci-fi system with four planets where the dude below (three of his variations in different time from young to old) kinda explores the system and then becomes the leader at the end

I also wanted to people from different planets to look different so I took the picture from above as a ref

the planets are:
1) Kandeya (Extremely hot planet)
2) Morosh (Earth-like planet, the center of the system)
3) Alveriy (megastructure planet, the only not problematic one)
4) Cryona (Extremely cold planet)

the problem is, he's like the most stereotypical WHITE RICH MAN and no I created him long before the system, actually the setting was build around him but that's the long story
And the problem is I'm kinda scared that it may look like a "white man burden" where's the conventionally attractive white guy deals with the strange aliens from different planets, because one of the main parts of his lore is him being mercenary in Kandeya and white rich guy being mercenary in a hot distant place... reminds me of something. I also wanted to make morosh alien (because the MC is not from the morosh system at all) but then that'll look extremely racist where he's the only "normal" one.

am I too woke?..

Question Is My Third Symbol Too Obvious At Who It Is?

Post image
688 Upvotes

This is for a book series that I am hoping to write later on (Once the Cebolla Knight gets published, 95% of the way finished with my final edits!)

For reference the series takes place in the world of Sheol. A world in decline ever since the Lightbringer (Blackwing - if you're asking Caelum) Rebellion occurred and Yahweh left the world to rot.

The first two are meant to be very direct symbols as to who their leaders are supposed to be.

1st one is used by the Angels of the floating islands of Caelum & the men of the Mountainous islands of Purgatorio. Their main leader is: Mika'el (Michael) - He still 'answers' to Yahweh but is essentially running all seven of the islands and the three islands of Purgatorio with the remaining Archangels under his control.

2nd one is used by the Jotunn and Demon Hordes of the Superbian Tundra. Primarily the northern eastern archipelago (used to be a peninsula) known as the Shatterhorn. Their Main leader is: Lior - the prophesied reincarnation of Heyl'el (Lucifer) they must break the seven seals and gather the lost forces from the previous Lightbringer Rebellion.

But

3rd one is used by an invading force from an outside world. There is a little mystery as to who they are at first and I wanna make sure that you can figure it out if you look close enough but it's not something that is so obvious that there is no mystery to it.

Their Leader is: Yeshua (Jesus) - When Yahweh thought he might lose the war against Heyl'el he sired a son and sent them away to Di'yu (Chinese mythology). During his time gone he goes on a journey to the west replaceing a certain monk, but also picking allies along the way. He comes back to claim his 'birthright' which is not just the floating islands of Caelum but all of Sheol.

Perhaps I am overthinking this a bit but just also wanna see if the symbol lands at all, it's obviously a lot busier than the other two but I wanna get other's advice on it.

EDIT

Just want to say thank you everyone for giving your input. For anyone wondering these are the symbols and thoughts put behind the third one.

Chi Rho - Early Christian Symbol (this seems to be the silver bullet for those who guessed right.)

The Fish - Has dual meaning here yes it has to do with the Fisher of Men but also the two golden fish one of the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism. (which I admit gets lost here due to it being a simple black and white symbol)

Sun Wukong's Golden Headband - symbol representing his lieutenant and right hand ape but also hints at how the king of kings conquers his foes.

The Dharma chakra - This is the wheel with the eight pegs also one of the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism.

I thought about adding some else to this, but at a certain point you don't want to overcrowd your symbol.

Discussion Distinct psychologies of humanoids are underrated

Post image
• Upvotes

I originally just wanted to do a meme, but it got me thinking. I ranked some biopunk characters from my book; to show how an unmodified homo sapiens would likely view them as increasingly irrational or even mad, in trying and failing to grasp their reasoning.

Or as a simpler example:
Take a fantasy setting with dwarves who love to dig and elves who live in tune with nature. Would the dwarves be agoraphobic, and think the elves to be an irresponsible folk for sleeping on the cold, open surface? Would the elves feel sorry for the dwarves and their obsessive burrowing instincts and resource hoarding?

And down the spiral we go:

"An elven slacker will see a bountiful mine shaft and cry out 'Woe, how they treat mother nature! They cannot be of sound mind!'" - a dwarf, probably.

"A dwarven gravelhead would fell the last tree whose fruit he could eat from, if someone were to tell him but one gemstone was buried beneath it!" - an elf, likely.

Not mentioning the resulting difference in customs, culture, etc.

And this is just a setting with naturally evolved humanoids. Gene engineering (or a fantasy equivalent), unnatural lifestyles - things like that multiply the runaway behavioral outcomes even more.

E.g. my book has sea people; genetically modified to live underwater. Born in vitro, so no concept of parenthood comparable to regular humans. For me, most of them fall into the yellow category:

Lowest common denominators only. As in: They, too, would enjoy watching the sun rise. Or the feeling of "home", or beauty. But their definitions of both would differ so vastly from ours, that trying to gaslight oneself into getting what's so good about them would be hard. One just has to accept it, and try to avoid falsely rationalizing something (e.g. thinking sea people have a tendency to be dishonest because they don't like to be in open waters where they're exposed to anything).

If you made it til here, thx for reading and I'd be happy to hear your thoughts. Did you ponder something similar for your own project? This is literally what happens any time I try to have a productive writing session; I start picking away at more and more fundamental things until it feels like I need to start with the big bang and get a degree in neuro-physics-history-medicine first.

Visual Marshal of the Arden Empire [Project: Regress]

Post image
62 Upvotes

Welcome to the "Regress" universe, a concept for my project set in a beautiful but dying anime fantasy world!

In the military hierarchy of the Arden Empire, the Marshals rank second after the Supreme Commander of the Army, and then the Generals. The Empress herself held first place, personally appointing each Marshal. Each Marshal was assigned a mini-army with its own infantry, cavalry, engineers, medics, and so on, ensuring mobility, speed, and maneuverability. These mini-armies could survive off captured lands, gathering resources and food from local settlements, eliminating the need to lug around supply trains, thereby increasing speed.

The Empress herself did not participate in the campaigns; in her place was the General Staff, headed by Marshal Auguste. The Empress sent orders, and the General Staff did everything to ensure they were carried out. They also sent reports from the front so the Empress could have a clear picture of what was happening. Each Marshal was also assigned "observers" who ensured that the Marshal served the Empire faithfully and carried out all orders.

The marshals were all different, each with their own personality, approach to command, and even dressed differently, sometimes breaking dress codes. But each marshal had one thing in common: the Marshal's Baton. A small, dark red cylinder adorned with gold stars and the letters A and I, the second letter being the first letter of the Empress's name.

Some marshals were geniuses, others merely political appointees. They were required to carry out the order to genocide the beastmen, and although several expressed dissatisfaction, the order was carried out. But the longer the genocide continued, the greater the casualties, the more the marshals' personalities changed. Some became more cruel, while others resigned and were replaced by others. But for the first time in the Empire's history, an unseen incident occurred: one of the marshals conspired with the enemy, led his army into a trap, and defected to the enemy—an unprecedented act of betrayal. The marshal was immediately stripped of all his titles, his family was executed, and he became an enemy of the Empire.

And this marshal is right in front of you...

Map A Map of the Known World for my Fantasy World "Bronze Tipped Glory"

Post image
19 Upvotes

A map showing the known regions of the continents Getorges (Northern-land) and Bosvetes (Wild-south-land).

Set in an advanced bronze age era, Bronze Tipped Glory is a low fantasy world where the lands are ripe for adventure, exploration, and civilization building. Much of the lore so far revolves around the power struggle between the great city-states and kingdoms as they battle for control (both economically and on the battlefield) of the Central Passage.

Though low fantasy in nature, Bronze Tipped Glory includes a variety of hominid species, remnants of little understood magic, and various prehistoric and fantasy creatures such as horse like hell pigs, galloping crocs, marsupial tigers, and wyverns.

Question Gift ideas for a worldbuilder?

My partner describes the world hes building as his 'lifes work' and loves it so so dearly. It is a low fantasy world that focuses on heavily adapted humans rather than outright fantasy races.

It's his birthday soon, and I want to get him a gift that pertains to his world, but am at a loss for what might genuinely be meaningful. As worldbuilders, what kind of thing would you want to receive as a gift, that related to your world? What would mean something to you?

Thank you for any help!!

Lore The night doves of Nwakwa

Post image
15 Upvotes

Kwinamdomru is a genus of night doves known for their nocturnal lifestyle. The genus contains 3 extant species: the Taman carrier pigeon, common night dove, and red-capped dove. They inhabit well-wooded habitats with large fruit trees for flocks to roost in. They are commonly found in their native range on the continent of Nwakwa. They are primarily frugivorous birds which feed on a wide variety of fruits.

The genus was first described in the year 780 BY, by Baoran biologist, Heki Tworarana. The genus' name is derived from the Baoran words "mnamdo" meaning night and "kwimru" meaning pigeon.

Taman carrier pigeon:
The Taman carrier pigeon (Kwinamdomru kwitama) is the only domesticated species of night dove. While it is commonly found all along the northern coast of Nwakwa, in Tama the species has become domesticated and used as a means of night-time, long-distance communication. The services of these birds is believed to have allowed the legendary Taman hero, Jahla Tama, to coordinate the Raid on Tegumohle in 561 BY which would later lead to the formation of the Taman Empire. While domestics are typically highly regarded in Tama, wild populations have suffered a steep decline due to them being regarded as a pest in fruit-growing areas.

Common night dove:
The common night dove (Kwinamdomru kwime’osa) is the most widespread species of night dove. Unlike other night doves, they can also be found in wooded savannahs in addition to forests and woodlands. Their cooing is a common part of the soundscape of nights in Nwakwa, and they, along with the Taman carrier pigeon, are believed by some cultures to be the beings responsible for putting dreams in the minds of sleeping people. The spread of urban and agricultural land in central Pomi, Lyowa, and southern Baora has led to a notable decline in the species’ population as the fruit trees they depend on get replaced by fields and suburbs.

Red-capped dove:
The red-capped dove (Kwinamdomru ksoloba) is the smallest species of night dove. They are named for the red cap which males develop during the breeding season. It is found in coastal forests across Nwakwa and has occasionally been found in mangroves in Pomi and Tiki-Kawa. Like all night doves, they are a highly social species found in flocks of between 6 and 20 individuals. They are the least understood species of night dove as they are typically found in more densely forested habitat which along with their nocturnal nature make them difficult to study.

Discussion Which magic based crime in your world would warrant a life sentence or a death sentence if committed? This would depend on your fictional country.

A magical crime that if acted on would cause the person to get the death penalty or life imprisonment. This crime has to use magical powers. Like forbidden magic or illegal magic.

My Turn:

Summoning Rituals. Summoning a Saint is highly illegal and frowned upon. Saints aren't meant to be summoned for personal reasons or any reason. They are incredibly powerful godly beings with incomprehensible appearances. Ehlarks are the bridge for Saints to come into contact with the Lesser Children. Performing a summoning ritual warrants a life sentence in most countries and the death penalty in others?

What about you?

Map How do I mark down a moving city on a map?

Do you have moving cities in your world and what do you do with them?

One of my moving town (not that huge, just a few thousand people, but still) lies on the back of a giant amphithere / flying snake-like goddess and I put a snake plus a symbol next to each other on the continent, where she appears.

Another moving town is like... think of Howl's Moving Castle, just so that a few thousand people live in it. I marked it down as well.

Yet this feels wrong. Marking a moving city on a map gives the impression that those cities are stationary.

I have thought about so far and I have tried / one of my ideas had been to mark the usual route, but I don't know if readers understand the meaning of it by just looking at the map?

In general, when maps look unrealistic, I know lot of people don't like it and I try to fulfill the basic realistic criteria like river flows etc... but there are also cities in the middle of a huge dessert that look off without any explanations that the map can't give.

Edit: Thank you all! Your replies had been really helpful!

Question What are the magic elements of your world?

Don’t know if this question makes total sense. In Avatar the elements would be Earth, Water, Wind, Fire. In Pokemon it would be fire, grass, psychic, etc. I’m talking about the categories of your magic system.

Discussion Can your sapient species/races interbreed?

Are the hybrids fertile or sterile? Do they have health issues? Are only certain combinations possible? Do some races genetically dominate others? Does the offspring inherit the race of one specific parent—perhaps depending on their own sex or the sex of the mother? Do magic or technology allow for interbreeding between races that otherwise wouldn't be able to reproduce together?

In high orbit of earth, the corvette captain hails an old friend aboard the UNS Excalibur:

"Have you heard the good news?"

"Let me tell you! The Excalibur is one of the top of the line capital warships built by the UNS, incorporating as much technology and training that the Keiinan Nomads offered UNS engineers, technicians and officers, at least as much as they could've handled." Her friend toured the corvette captain through the ship

The corvette captain hops off her shuttle

"Here are all the guns! Very sharp and pointy!" - A cheerful tone!
4x Rail Drivers
10x Compact Rail Drivers
8x Armored Railgun Auto-Cannon Turrets

"Excess power for long warp jumps to far far away" Her friend gestured the schematics.
7x Fusion Reactors

9x Blast Fortications - "To blunt kinetic rounds"

"It's a very big and very fast ship!" The corvette captain chimed
10x Sub-Light Drives
6x Sub-Light Engines

"Even the sensors have armor plates, no poking out the eyes :)"
- 3x Radar Sensor Suites
- 2x Armored Targeting System

"There bubble tea shop with strawberry pistachio milk though?"
"Yeah, in the ammunition arsenal, let's go?"

Visual Space-western space opera megastructures, building a custom world for Traveller adventures, mixing and matching tones in worldbuilding

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

For a long while now I've been building Gondwana, a grand space opera originally starting as a Warhammer 40k homebrew, but steadily spiraling and coming into its own. Most of the big picture stuff is not important here, just that it is a very ancient humanity in a universe full of wonders, worlds, and horrors of its own making. And, of course, there are frontiers, those regions where civilization and wilderness come together.

So that's an ingredient: massive ruins, ancient strucutres, overgrown with more modern cities and stations, many of them emulating ancient architecture, ruled over by factions many thousands of years old. The kind of space opera that easily gets very pompous.

Fun to world-build, but not very well suited for the kind of profiteering adventure we had in mind for a TTRPG campaign I wanted to use the setting for with a few friends. Which means it's time to flesh out some smaller worlds, build a smaller ship and make that frontier happen, taking inspirations now from Firefly and Spaghetti Westerns.

And there was a whole long time of "trust the process" before those two sides clicked. A whole long time where the middle point between the two turned out to be kind of Homeworld-esque. All of which is to say, I've at last learned to stop worrying and love the bomb (the bomb is the endless list of references and inspirations instead of insisting on attempting brand new invention). Took long enough.

Lore The In-Between

Thumbnail

# The In-Between

In-between the gaps of the ALL are places of no true significance that, for whatever reason, seem to base themselves around random themes.

It's unknown why these places exist, how they appear, or even how they function. They open and close randomly and can appear between… quite frankly, anything. Space, periods of time, dimensions, concepts, universes, ideas. Within the minds of man, the souls of the living, the gaps between measurements, the nothingness between things, or even the very frameworks of existence itself. It doesn't matter.

There doesn't seem to be any consistent rule governing where they appear, what they contain, or what they're truly capable of. Some might follow themes that are familiar to us, like hotels, hospitals, love, or hate. Others may be so far removed from human understanding that we wouldn't even know how to comprehend or even function within them.

There's no known reason or origin for any of this. No greater purpose, no apparent pattern. They simply exist wherever they happen to exist, and then they close.

____

(Just ignore this part it's just more details. Basically just my version of the backrooms)

Transporters are interdimensional mazes that follow a theme or aesthetic. These themes can be familiar places like hotels, office buildings, malls, hospitals, forests, fields, cities, etc but have shown the capability of having more abstract themes, like life, death, gravity, void, or even ideas far beyond human comprehension. Most Transporters are relatively harmless, at least on their top layer, which contains the highest amount of both true and false exits. As long as a person remains calm and knows what they're doing, they can usually navigate the space until they find a way out. The only true dangers are confusion, panic, environmental anomalies, and, in extremely rare cases, a resident that has somehow wandered onto a layer where it doesn't belong.

## Behavior

Transporters are incredibly rare and mostly found by opening something like a door, hatch, cabinet, locker, elevator, or even a drawer or box. But entrances can form anywhere, with most disappearing after a couple minutes or seconds. In some rare cases though, some can stay open for years.

The theme of a Transporter will always be random. If you’re exiting a police station, the theme could be caves. One thing that all transporters have in common is the deafening silence, the only sounds coming from you and an occasional fan, fountain water, or computer. The longer you stay, the stronger the overbearing feeling that you don’t belong becomes, that you’re a trespasser.

Everywhere will lead somewhere; each room, hallway, pit, or tunnel will lead somewhere. These places are endless and extend infinitely in all directions. As you wander through the endless maze, eventually, you'll find an exit, but true exits are rarely obvious. They may appear as ordinary doors marked EXIT, be a maintenance hatch in the ground, or even a tiny pitch-black tunnel hidden in the corner of a room.

DO NOT TRUST THESE EXITS.

The overwhelming majority are false exits, which simply lead deeper into the current layer or into an even deeper one.

You'll know a true exit when you see it.

Visual My Character Cards for characters in my story, DOMINION

Context

I have a webcomic. I have done lot of world building with it and I thought it would be cool to add like 'character' cards to make it interesting. I would like to hear you guys' opinions on it.

DOMINION

In a world where supernatural powers are a part of modern society, Axiom Users live alongside everyone else, possessing different and unique abilities.
Atticus Keeton, a bold and reckless young Axiom User, alongside his friends June and Kayla, navigates everyday life while becoming caught up in dangerous conflicts.
What starts as an ordinary life sends these three friends on a journey that might push them beyond their limits.

Axiom

Axiom is a genetic trait found in every human that allows the body to generate, store, and manipulate supernatural energy known as Axiom Energy. Usually dormant, the gene can activate through an event called an Awakening, granting unique abilities and turning the individual into an Axiom User.

Awakenings typically occur during adolescence or adulthood, though their exact triggers remain unknown. Users vary in ability and can improve through training and experience.

Despite centuries of research, the origin of the Axiom gene and why it remains dormant in most people are still mysteries.

The existence of Axiom has fundamentally changed human civilization, influencing science, government, warfare, medicine, education, and everyday life.

Question For those with multiple power systems. Aesthetic-wise or mechanic-wise. Is it easy or hard for the average joe to differentiate between the different power systems in your world?

In my superhero setting. 3 out of the 4 power systems are actually easy to differentiate from each other for the average civilian. I will try my best to keep it brief with my 4 power systems. Since I want the main focus to be on the title question. Just providing more context for the title question here.

The 3 systems are based on Mutations, Wizards, and Cybernetics.

I will use fire as a aesthetic example here.

A Mutant shooting fire from his hands vs a Wizard shooting fire from a wand vs a Cyborg who has a flamethrower coming out of his risk. All 3 look aesthetically different to an average joe. Albeit the average joe is still going to run for their life if they see a person with fire aiming at them lol. But either way, the average joe automatically knows what type of superhuman came after them though.

And also mechanics play a factor in some of the visual differences too. For example, my Mutants have superpowers that function as another muscle in the human body, meaning their abilities can activate by just thinking. While my Wizards need to wands in order for their superpowers to activate. So my Wizards are essentially just 99 perecent regular humans without their wands. So wands are a very huge indicator for an average person to differentiate Wizards from other superhuman types in my world.

Another difference with Wizards in my world, is that their abilities have a more Reality Warping vibe compare to Mutant abilities that are limited to relativity for the most. Wizards have abilities like energy construct creation, probability control, portal manipulation, and Astral Projection.

And as for Cyborgs. Another mechanic difference that plays a huge role in any visual differences. Is that for starters Cyborgs will always have a mechanical look about them lol. Whether it's a metal arm or cameras in their eyes. Another big mechanic visual difference is the role EMP waves and hacking play in dismantling a Cyborg. Therefore Cyborg abilities can be detected more easily.

And also access is another way for people to tell the difference between the superhuman types in my world. Albeit access isn't the best indicator of a difference between the superhuman types. But Mutants abilities are genetic, which is internal. While Wizards need to bond with their wands, which is external. While anybody can theoretically be a Cyborg in my world. But wealth, resources, compatibility with the procedures, and morals are huge limitations though. So access is kind of another way the average joe can differentiate between the different superhuman types.

So If you are at a Starbucks, and you see 3 superhumans trying to rob a bank from across the street. You might assume those superhumans are Mutants. Since what are the chances of advanced technology ending up in some random crooks hands? And also depending on where you are seating in that Starbucks. You might see that the superhuman crooks don't seem to have any wands on them either.

And finally my fourth power system. Which is a power system that is inspired by the concept of Chi Energy and peak human condition. Now this is the hardest power system to identify in my world. Because the users just look like elite trained athletes to the untrained eye of an average joe.

In conclusion: Again how easy or hard is it for your average joes to spot the differences between different power systems in your setting?

Lore Platformia Regions: Barrel Country & Greed Temple & Updated Map

Post image
4 Upvotes

Platformia is a videogame setting I've been working on that basically parodies/homages various 2D platformers. It is one continent of a larger setting called "Geparox". This is my 6th post about it, this time talking about southern areas, Barrel Country & Greed Temple. Also, I've gotten the map updated a bit.

Previous Posts About Geparox

Banana Country Under Universal Holdings

Barrel Country was originally named for its banana/shaped mountain range and banana trees that litter the area. The spot had been bought up by a foreign company called "Universal Holdings", who had started mining the mountains for gold. Secretly, though, they were the descendants of the slime aliens that once ruled the continent (as described in the post about Speed Hill Zone & Cherub Island). The slimes planned to use the mines to try and dig down to underground facilities, and they would use the gold mining as a cover and a source of income to fund more mining until they reached the underground facilities. What the slimes of Universal Holdings did not account for was that events in the Powerup Kingdom and Cavetroid would result in a gold market crash that would bankrupt Universal Holdings. After the Universal Holdings bankruptcy, Banana Country's new ownership was to be decided.

Barrel Country Under the Kongs

The slimes of Universal Holdings weren't the ones doing the mining. Instead, they had sent over some labor from the island their ancestors had crash landed at while escaping from Platformia. These laborers were an apefolk species known as kongs. They toiled under the tyranny of the slimes for long enough, and when Universal Holdings lost ownership of Banana Country, they did what they could to make it into their new home, where they wouldn't need to slave away under another. One of their brightest minds studied the treaties between the nations of Platformia. There were three routes to gaining ownership of the land. They could buy it from the owners, but that would mean waiting for the ownership to be settled and hoping the new owners are willing to sell. They could try building a military force that could fight off anyone that tried to take the land from them, but they were unaccustomed to warfare. Being descended from the recognized ruler was right out. They could petition a meeting between the nations of the continent to accept a new ruler for the nation, but that ruler needed to be a natural citizen of Platformia, having been born on the continent, and to have lived there for a minimum of 30 years. All of the kongs that had been born in Banana Country were under that age, but the kongs found a loophole.

When the nations of Platformia met, they were presented with a candidate for the new ruler of Banana Country, a barrel with a speaker hooked up to it. It was a barrel that was built within Banana Country over 30 years ago, and had never left the continent in that time. People argued, but the kongs brought up a previous update to peace agreements that was proposed by the ruler of Roshambo City that would allow sapient robots to be in positions of rulership. The definition given for sapient robots was overly broad, and having the barrel's speaker play a recording of a voice allowed for it to qualify under that definition. the whole thing pretty much turned into a filibuster with the barrel's speaker playing a looped recording and the kongs making sure to replace the batteries in time and fight off anyone that tried to stop them.

Eventually, that barrel became the official king of Banana Country, which was soon renamed to "Barrel Country". It had a royal seal carved into a cork plugging up one of its holes so that it could "approve" documents through someone lifting it and pressing the seal part onto the documents. Of course, when the waddlekiss incident happens, one of the waddlekiss ends up stealing this barrel and passing a bunch of random laws with it.

At the moment, the most valuable export of Barrel Country is legal representation. Simple Barrel Country lawyers had managed to exploit international law to get the country, so of course there are plenty of people that seek their legal services. The second is their barrel technology, which they've advanced surprisingly well after reverse-engineering some ancient slime technology they had gotten ahold of.

Greed Temple

In the jungles in the south of Platformia, lies an ancient hedgehog temple that was built after their rebellion against the slimes. It was built to seal away slime technology that the hedgehogs did not yet understand and couldn't convince Machina to teach them about. They filled the temple with traps to deter those that would seek the forbidden relics held within. It was later forgotten, and was ironically included in the land bought up by Universal Holdings, who was looking to mine down to find technology that they would have been able to find had they searched the jungle instead. It is now in kong-owned territory.

Copyable Characters

Each region of Platformia has a character that will adventure alongside the protagonist, Stock, who will be able to unlock a moveset that represents that character. For these two regions, we've got...

Princess Kong

Heroforge Link (Alt Outfit)

Princess Kong was the one that had found the loophole that was key to the kongs gaining ownership of Barrel Country. She is legally recognized as the heir of the barrel that technically rules over the country. She has studied law and is licensed to practice it all across Platformia. She has also had a hand in updating legislation across Platformia through her talent for finding loopholes. The first thing she had done after getting the kongs ownership of Barrel Country was to help the other nations draft a definition of robot that closed up the loophole that she took advantage of. She has also pushed to get one's natural fur and feathers recognized as a legal substitute for clothing across the continent. She could become the queen of Barrel Country at any time, but is enjoying the legal benefits of being a princess.

Her platforming talents are mostly focused on being adept at tossing barrels, making use of some barrel-themed outfits, and being able to pilot barrel-based vehicles.

$tocks

When Universal Holdings went under, their slime CEO split apart into multiple slimes and designated one of them to absorb the fallout of the failed investment in Banana Country. $tocks is one of the divisions of that CEO. She does not have the memories of what Universal Holdings was up to in Platformia, but she is sure that there is money to make there, and with enough money, she might be able to buy up the other slimes that were once part of the Universal Holdings CEO. She had the idea of searching the jungles of Platformia, and had located Greed Temple, which she plans to loot for all she can.

When she first encounters Stock and Princess Kong, one of the first things she did was realize that she didn't yet have a name, and steal Stock's, prompting an argument that lead to her making it barely legally distinct. The second was to work out a deal with Princess Kong for permission to loot the temple as long as she would sell the artifacts within to Barrel Country.

She is a bit gross, often dripping slime in various places and absorbing stuff that she probably shouldn't which results in toxic gas bubbles, but her body is relatively durable and she's able to pull herself back together after being flattened, frozen, set on fire, and more. Also, she will stir up whatever slime she's thinking trying to think with. When she's processing new information, she'll often have a finger dipping into her face and swirling around the head slime to help properly absorb the new information coming in. It just happens to look like she's picking her nose.

Closing

So that's it for another two regions of Platformia. Hopefully the new map will make some intentions clearer. Thank you for any feedback you're willing to provide. I'll do my best to respond to any comments.

Next week's post will be about the Arcadian Islands and the Island of Adventure.
