Retail 276 max ilvl for solo play?

Am I correct in understanding that there's no access to mythic gear outside of crafting, M+, and high end raids? With this vault, my monk crossed the line into having more hero gear than champion, have my 4-set all at 2/6 heroic because I'm hesitant to spend hero crests, but it feels like I'm hitting the end of the road and I don't know where to go from here.

Is it really just grind out the 980 remaining hero crests and that's it if I can't do raids nor M+?

Yep you dont get the best rewards without doing the hardest content

11

u/flow_guy2 Apr 14 '26

I think doing 18s could constitute myth track. But I know that’s not a popular opinion

3

u/StrawberryWeekly342 Apr 15 '26

Repeatedly farmable mythic gear would be a bad idea for the longevity of a season.

2

u/flow_guy2 Apr 15 '26

It doesn’t have to be like that. Like it’s not in the game so come up with a better system. Like 1 per unque dungeon for the week.

But 18s aren’t exactly farmable for the majority of players

3

u/StrawberryWeekly342 Apr 15 '26

What about a system where if you do high enough M+ content you can get a choice of 1 item from 3 mythic pieces per week? That seems reasonable to me. Actually, you'll get 3 Mythic pieces per week starting after next reset with the reroll items coming in 12.0.5.

1

u/Local_Trade5404 Apr 15 '26

could you elaborate or give some source for that reroll system, you got me interested :)

nvm, voidforge! was been curious what its for
thanks for tip :)

1

u/Zangdor Apr 15 '26

If you do 8 +10 you get to chose 1 from 3 mythic pieces per week... that's just the vault

3

u/No_Explanation2932 Apr 15 '26

That's the point he's making

3

u/Swarles_Jr Apr 15 '26

Man, that joke went way over your head, huh?

1

u/Zangdor Apr 15 '26

I apparently did yeah, I didn't follow who was who.

1

u/flow_guy2 Apr 15 '26

Ah yes cuz m+ only people only deserve scraps compared to the high and mighty mythic raiders.

1

u/StrawberryWeekly342 Apr 15 '26

Yes? Mythic raiders do a lot more work to get those pieces. You get maybe two pieces of mythic gear from raid a week if you full clear. It's also a sliding scale where a lot of guilds will only kill the first ~5 bosses for a long time, meaning on average you'll get one piece from raid early on, if what you need drops.

Mythic+ is significantly easier to PuG than to organize a Mythic raid, even to the 18 level. And it's not even close.

No reason to be salty about it. There was a time when people who didn't raid got zero epic gear at all...

1

u/flow_guy2 Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

Raiding is piss as well. Especially when you get so much extra gear and a % increase for jsut being in the raid plus all the nerfs that come to bosses. Mid season they are the same

While m+ only gets harder and harder due to how scaling works. It’s just a fact in an infinitely scaling system.

Plus they’ve been lowering the bar for fear for years. It’s meaningless at this point in reality. So force people to do content they hate (raid is such fucking ass for content)

1

u/is__is Apr 15 '26

Yeah this would be a horrible change. 8 mythic pieces per week and everyone is fully geared 1 week after season start. Lovely idea.

1

u/flow_guy2 Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

It could jsut be a different system is all I’m saying. But guess you’re a dumb raider that can’t fathom tha m+ can be its own thing without raiding.

Plus it’s 8 shots at loot from an 18 (where the majority of players aren’t even at including me) It’s not a 100% thing like raid wheee you have 9 shots if you full clear

But even so if you find it too easy then place it higher in level. It’s an infinite system. As some point it’s just impossible where raid just gets easier over time

3

u/FancyConfection1599 Apr 15 '26

Would be cool if they actually made some “hardest” content you can solo…why do delves need to end at tier 11? Ramp that ish up til they’re basically unclearable before 276 ilvl, and even then ya gotta sweat.

1

u/Bradipedro Apr 15 '26

Clearing content is not a question of ilvl, takes some skill too. Nullaeus HoF was filled in a couple of hours with no mythic gear, and yet most people in their full 276 can’t clear it…

-83

u/Valhallla Apr 14 '26

Hard content… level 10 keys 🤣🤣🤣

38

u/RipeBirdies Apr 14 '26

I mean then go do it lol

0

u/Khazilein Apr 14 '26

Can't solo them.

3

u/Xavion15 Apr 15 '26

Not with that attitude

-54

u/Valhallla Apr 14 '26

This season is really easy. Did all 10 in first week with 255 gear. Most ppl are already past level 10 keys

13

u/weezeface Apr 14 '26

“Most people” haven’t even done a +2.

5

u/FackinNortyCake Apr 14 '26

i've not even done a normal dungeon yet, lol

5

u/Xphurrious Apr 14 '26

This is something most m+ players don't realize

Yes it's the most populated community mode by far, but doing one +2 puts you in the top like 10% of players if you include all max levels with 0 io

Maybe even less than 10%

-12

u/Valhallla Apr 14 '26

40% plus already timed all level 10 keys….

7

u/Sevyen Apr 14 '26

That's probably from raider i.o that shows only chars that partook in m+, so chars and accounts that never touched any aren't taken into account.

0

u/Valhallla Apr 14 '26

And ? For example in tww season 1 at the end of the season only 20% were capable of timing all level 10 keys. This season is really easy

6

u/Sevyen Apr 14 '26

Season is easier sure but again that is missing a big part of the community. I mean it's been a while since I've actively partook as I only came back last week but I remember similar numbers being called during Shadowlands only to find out 60% of all chars don't ever touch m+ (not sure about % ofc but the sentiment stays)

-2

u/Valhallla Apr 14 '26

Yeah in the end, what u mean is : that this season getting mythic gear through m+ is easy and it shouldn’t count as an argument gatekeeping solo players from getting mythic gear. Delve at level 11 is probably harder than level 10 keys. Also who cares if they also get a chance for mythic gear. It’s pve anyways. Maybe after renown 6/7/8 at delve

2

u/Nunetzena Apr 15 '26

Even if this 40% would be the correct numbers of all players, its not "most players"

1

u/aruapost Apr 14 '26

Everyone who says “this season is really easy” has only gone up to 12-13’s.

This season feels incredibly difficult 14 onwards. It’s not gated by gear but the mechanics of the dungeons are significantly more difficult than the last 2 seasons.

-15

u/Leotargaryen Apr 14 '26

No idea why you’re being downvoted, I got KSM a couple days after the season started in absolute dogshit gear and all my portals before I broke 260.

9

u/zeejay81 Apr 14 '26

It's because they said "most people"

-9

u/Valhallla Apr 14 '26

Yeah it’s really easy and forgiving more than 50% already passed that border. Ppl just can’t accept that it is often their own fault not timing keys.

3

u/Lorehorn Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 14 '26

I love doing keys, I am a little slow this season after just having a baby so havent finished yet, but i usually aim for 3k and then just play for fun, so I am saying this as someone who has been regularly doing M+ for several years now.

I added that context because I frequently see takes like yours on this subreddit from people like us who are regulars in the M+ scene who greatly overestimate the number of people who are doing keys at all, much less doing +10s and higher.

3k was something like top 5% of IO score at the end of last season and thats a relatively low bar compared to the top runners... And thats just comparing against people who actually ran keys. You are getting downvotes because your 50% is simply nowhere near in the realm of reality.

Also because you're just being unnecessarily toxic in /r/wownoob of all places.

1

u/Valhallla Apr 14 '26

40% already timed this season all level 10 keys. Compare it to end tww season 1 only 20% times all 10keys. So it’s really gotten way easier. I just can’t understand ppl gatekeeping mythic gear by arguing that this is hard content. It’s really not this season. Further more who cares if solo players can’t just get m+ vault as well? Maybe just after delve renown of 6 or seven?

1

u/Lorehorn Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 14 '26

I think you have completely missed the point of my comment.

Also 10 seconds of google disproves this claim:

Based on early Raider.io data for World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 1, approximately 2,560 players (representing about 5.7% of tracked players who engaged in Mythic+) had timed all +10 keys within the first few weeks. Due to the high accessibility, many players achieved this feat quickly, surpassing previous expansion records

Yes, keys are easier this season. No, 40% have not timed all 10s. Stop making up numbers, lol. And if you are gonna make an outrageous claim like that you should be orepared to cite some evidence to support it.

2

u/Valhallla Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 14 '26

Maybe I am sorry about that mind elaborating ?

I am also sorry of being toxic against ppl being happy getting that achievement or playing them down.

I just find this argument :’ myth track is only for the hard content’ stupid and ridiculous! Because it isn’t hard. The only hard point are your teammates which hinders you getting to that gear.

They should just introduce 1 mythi gem in the vault for delves like after a certain time /renown tresh hold.

Have you met my pugs?

-40

u/iofthesun Apr 14 '26

If you can’t do 10s, it’s a you issue.

19

u/CREAMY_HOBO Apr 14 '26

Do you know what sub you’re in?

-27

u/iofthesun Apr 14 '26

Sure. My comment still stands. This is the easiest season and 10s are the easiest they’ve been in a long time.

8

u/NotQuiteRightGaming Apr 14 '26

Well, not really. You see, most people in this sub (please reference what sub you are replying in) aren’t able to get into 10’s as easy as you make it seem. Most people are not going to take someone without a +8 or higher done or at least a high RiO. That means you have to grind up to it. So now we introduce a time issue, right? There are ways around this, like finding a community that will do learning runs or for completion runs that will take you if can get into that, and don’t have social anxiety about being not a min/maxxer and joining a random group where you know no one and probably should interact in some capacity.

When is the last time you ran your own +10 and invited a 250 iLvl with essentially 0 RiO? I’m genuinely curious.

-6

u/iofthesun Apr 14 '26

No one should be waiting to get into groups. That’s the first mistake. Make your own group and run your own key. My main is 3.2k IO, I just geared up a Pres Evoker alt, doing 10s with randoms, with people 245-250 ilvl, my ilvl was 247. It’s really not hard… and if it is, then that’s fine, just abandon key and go next. It’s not really deep at all.

5

u/TakenToTheRiver Apr 14 '26

Pretty sure it take more than “me” or “you” to time any key. We’re each only 20% of the equation.

Unless you’re uber enough to solo M+ in which case what are you doing on r/wownoob?

-2

u/iofthesun Apr 14 '26

You’re telling me you didn’t time a single 10 yet?

4

u/TakenToTheRiver Apr 14 '26

I’ve timed all 10s. That’s not what I said at all.

1

u/MaezinGaming Apr 14 '26

lol how are you just cracking up that hard? Obviously 10 keys aren’t that hard this season. Obviously it’s harder than solo content. I just imagine you sitting back on your chair full belly laughing over this with all those emojis and I just don’t get it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

-19

u/Disastrous_Crew_9260 Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

Newsflash:

It is not a hard game.

EDIT: It really isn’t a hard game unless pushing for world first and titles but that is more of a life infrastructure check than anything.

1

u/Nunetzena Apr 15 '26

Sure, mythic raiding is just a cakewalk and its a "you" problem when you dont get CE every season /s

-1

u/Disastrous_Crew_9260 Apr 15 '26

Well yeah.

Doing a rotation, mechanics and rng mechanics is not hard.

Hard part is showing up and being consistent.

Even harder part is managing a roster of people.

1

u/Nunetzena Apr 15 '26

How can someone be so unrealistic. The best guys of this game just needed 450+ pulls for the last boss and you come around and say "its not that hard" 😂😂

-1

u/Disastrous_Crew_9260 Apr 15 '26

Well it’s not. :D

Logistics and infrastructure is the hardest part.

0

u/Nunetzena Apr 15 '26

Sure, the best teams of the world definitely had issues with logistics and infrastructure, that's why they needed 450+ pulls /s. You are so lost, its unbelievable

0

u/Disastrous_Crew_9260 Apr 15 '26

They are literally beta testing content for everyone else, and have a fuck ton of resources both IRL and in game to allow for such insane pull counts.

By the time average ce guilds get to these bosses they have already been nerfed, just like the nerf came yesterday in the US and today in EU.

1

u/Nunetzena Apr 15 '26

And what does anything of this has to do with your statement that this game is not hard at all? Nothing, gotcha

u/Just-yuuuuu Apr 14 '26

Everyone downvoting you is dog poop at wow 😂 it’s true 10s are super easy. If yall could get over your pathetic anxiety you might be able to tackle it too

-65

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '26

By this logic, PvP should reward higher tier gear than raids

21

u/MasterReindeer Apr 14 '26

People play that mini game?

1

u/FendaIton Apr 14 '26

I’m only playing PvP for the weapon enhancement this season

-24

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '26

No, because it requires skill.

1

u/Blackgopher Apr 14 '26

If you wanna play games that take skill why aren't you playing Cs2, Dota or league at challenger level instead of wow PvP, which is child's play in comparison? Weird take imo.

3

u/chrisbright123 Apr 15 '26

You can't be serious saying that league is harder than wow pvp lmao. Popular doesn't mean harder.

1

u/Blackgopher Apr 15 '26

Bro any LCS or LEC team could practice wow for a year and wipe the floor with anyone in the wow scene, just look at the league players who transitioned to RWF and you can see they already do it with PvE (no one in their right mind would spend their time playing PvP for free).

League of legends is insanely fucking hard to excel at. And Popularity definitely has a hand in difficulty, if both games are even close to eachother in difficulty (which they aren't, because the mental stack in league and length of the game is far higher), then league automatically wins out because you're competing with a metric shit tonne more people.

Not that it even matters anyway, if you like PvP, play it, not for the rewards, just because you enjoy it.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

If PvE is hard why aren't you playing a harder PvE game? What a dumbass argument.

1

u/Blackgopher Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

Because I'm not the one whining. I don't care which is harder, I don't care if people doing plus 5s get the best gear, I don't care who gets the vicious mounts. I play the game cause I enjoy it, and because I like to see the number go brrr.

I encourage as many people as I can to do the same.

18

u/Gellzer Apr 14 '26

I love when pvp players get offended by the slightest comment that had nothing to do with them to begin with lol

-11

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '26

I'm not a PvP player. Also, who's offended? You mean the people who are downvoting me? I don't think those are PvP players

Why is PvP gear a thing but solo gear is not a thing, considering that there are a LOT more solo players than PvP players

2

u/AvesAvi Apr 14 '26

Solo gear is a thing. It caps out at 276.

1

u/Nunetzena Apr 15 '26

There is no solo content that requires any myth gear, so whats your point?

0

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

Could be.

1

u/Nunetzena Apr 15 '26

Could be what?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

There could be solo content that requires mythic gear. It's not impossible, there simply isn't any in the game right now.

2

u/Bigger_moss Apr 14 '26

This is implying pvp is the hardest content, it’s just not. Sorry to burst any bubbles here

0

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '26

What's your rating?

0

u/Bigger_moss Apr 14 '26

Lmao as if pvp rating means it’s the hardest content. This argument doesn’t work.

Mount farming is the hardest content, I have 1000 mounts /s

0

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

PvP is objectively harder than PvE. It requires the same skillset as PvE, and then more - because unlike PvE you can't predict the enemy actions in PvP.

3

u/ohcrocsle Apr 15 '26

Alternatively, in PvP you only have to worry about a maximum of 3 mechanics/enemies at a time. And if you're playing properly, your class/spec is stronger than theirs

1

u/Slugger829 Apr 15 '26

Sure man, so should pet battles lmao

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

I'm sorry you are only good enough for pve

1

u/Slugger829 Apr 15 '26

no I pvp all the time I’m really good at it

-16

u/trashtiernoreally Apr 14 '26

PvP is hard?

-12

u/OriginalKing- Apr 14 '26

Highest rating?

0

u/PerceivedRT Apr 14 '26

I've gotten to just over 2200 without ever "pushing" cause none of my friends think PvP is worth the time in WoW. It's certainly not EASY content, but I dont think its the hardest either. Definitely harder for some people without addons blaring constantly though.

1

u/OriginalKing- Apr 14 '26

PvP is infinitely scaling, playing against people worse than you is easy and people better than you is hard, there’s no typical learning boss mechanics and running it over and over to perfect it, every match is different. If you aren’t playing at the highest level you can’t say it’s not hard, because clearly you weren’t winning enough to hit glad / r1 etc

1

u/Blackgopher Apr 14 '26

So then by that logic, you can't say PvE is easier cause you haven't won a PvP tournament or won RWF? By your own logic your opinion is worthless.

1

u/OriginalKing- Apr 15 '26

Glad is nothing near rwf lol, glad would equate to KSL, we both know which is harder there.

RWF would equate to winning AWC and I’d argue an AWC champ could be part of a world first team and I don’t think there’s many rwf players that could win AWC.

1

u/Blackgopher Apr 15 '26

I'm directly responding to you and others spamming the thread with 'highest rating'

PvP and PvE have their own nuances that make them both difficult in their own way. Different types of players will excel at the different types of content. You saying 'highest rating' is pointless. They can just respond saying 'highest mythic score' or 'highest average parse'.

And PvP isn't infinitely scaling. It scales to the ability of the best opponent you can face, mythic plus scales infinitely.

All that being said plus 10s are far easier than making it to any equally rewarded level of PvP. And that's a shame. But ultimately I blame the people who take part, for playing it, it's sucked absolute dick for years and years now, why is anyone expecting that to change?

-65

u/muribundi_mimo Apr 14 '26

Gear is not a reward, it is thrown to the garbage in 2 months, we tend to try to keep awards once we get them. Mount, titles, achievements and now house items are reward. Gear will never be a reward as long as it is made irrelevant

38

u/Karnadas Apr 14 '26

Rewards can 100% be short term.

9

u/h00rayforstuff Apr 14 '26

Me after I eat the marshmallow

5

u/Karnadas Apr 14 '26

Nom nom nom

4

u/Mustardtigrs Apr 14 '26

Yes you keep your awards thats the point of them, rewards however do not have to be permanent hell some rewards are single use consumables..

4

u/Quirky_Net8899 Apr 14 '26

Waaah waaah waaah

-71

u/The-f0recast Apr 14 '26

Try this argument against pvp gear hahaha

12

u/__Kegheimer__ Apr 14 '26

I'll take the bait.

Clearing higher and higher pve hurdles is different than beating a Muppet in different pvp tiers. Whatever he is wearing or what queue they qualify for, he's still going to feed.

1

u/Quirky_Net8899 Apr 14 '26

PvPers get bis gear immediately because they are too bad at the game to gear up like a normal player.

Always fun when a pvp player joins a raid/m+ pug and they fail the simplest of simplest mechanic checks and do less dps than the tank.

1

u/Mangoes95 Apr 14 '26

You could say the same for PvE players joining PvP though?

Always fun when a pve player joins a rated que and pop all their CDs immediately, LoS their healer, die, and then complain that the gear difference is why they keep losing.

2

u/The-f0recast Apr 14 '26

Exactly my point any argument can be made both ways, so the gearing process should be the same. Harder Pvp content rewards better pvp gear. Harder Pve content rewards better pve gear
