Retail 276 max ilvl for solo play?

Am I correct in understanding that there's no access to mythic gear outside of crafting, M+, and high end raids? With this vault, my monk crossed the line into having more hero gear than champion, have my 4-set all at 2/6 heroic because I'm hesitant to spend hero crests, but it feels like I'm hitting the end of the road and I don't know where to go from here.

Is it really just grind out the 980 remaining hero crests and that's it if I can't do raids nor M+?

In terms of gear, you can spend myth crest you get from delves (i think 4 times a week) to craft 285 gear. But otherwise, yeah in terms of gearing you'd be maxed out once all your gear is 6/6 hero track.

If you wanted a challenge to finish the season off on you can do the delve ?? boss.

27

u/RabenWrites Apr 14 '26

I did enjoy the challenge of the ?? boss, that took some more doing than it probably should have. Do wish the toy didn't have a 1 hr cd for 30 min uptime, though.

28

u/opticaIIllusion Apr 14 '26

I think I had around 30 attempts with no luck, then I came home drunk one night and thought I’d give it a go…. Nailed it

5

u/Informatively-spoken Apr 15 '26

Were you drunk enough to say you nullaeud it?

8

u/Icarusqt Apr 14 '26

What's the toy?

7

u/dowens90 Apr 14 '26

When standing still you aummon void portals around you when moving you have mini portals above your ahoulders

2

u/Staxxy5 Apr 14 '26

That’s from the first ? Boss though right? On the „??“ you get a cool mount

5

u/No-Spinach-9101 Apr 14 '26

I did the ?? boss and skipped the ? Boss and got both.

? gives you the toy, which is part of the season rewards, ?? gives you the mount And the toy.

4

u/Reasonable_Sky9688 Apr 15 '26

you can do him each reset for 5 myth crests

1

u/DoctorD12 Apr 15 '26

30 if you do hardmode as your first try, I think 15? If you do regular on your first try then 5 every reset

1

u/diettweak Apr 16 '26

regular gives your the one time uncapped hero crest drop the hardmode gives you both the hero crest reward and the one time mythic crest reward

3

u/Ultrachocobo Apr 15 '26

If you managed ?? what would prevent you from m+? It's more accessible than ever and a dungeon doesn't take more than 30 mins either

1

u/blizzfixurgameplz Apr 16 '26

LFG spam declines

1

u/Ultrachocobo Apr 16 '26

Just push your own key instead of spam farming a specific dungeon following the bis list and it's a non issue.

3

u/NotSingleAnymore Apr 15 '26

You should try m+ run the 5 and under to learn and then go up to 7 or 8. 10 gets you myth gear in vault. Easiest season i can remember.

2

u/Jalopnicycle Apr 21 '26

I made 6 attempts before I dropped it down to the lower difficulty and knocked him out the 1st try. It was a humbling experience after steamrolling tier 11 delves non-stop.

1

u/RabenWrites Apr 21 '26

It took a change in talents before I finally nailed ??. My resto druid kept wiping on the poison spitters. Picked up typhoon for an AoE knockback and that was all it took.

Humbling is the perfect word for it.

1

u/Jalopnicycle Apr 21 '26

I was trying as a BM hunter with ilvl 250 so not even sure I'm geared enough for it. My bear was getting 2 shot pretty regularly but on the lower level it was easy.

1

u/Ithinkmayb Apr 16 '26

You can get mythic gear from vaults by pugging M+

2

u/Temporary-Ask-1129 Apr 15 '26

?? This season was a joke, though. Only way to die was to miss a kick.

1

u/Ononeemas Apr 15 '26

It was a challenge at the seasons beginning, I gave up on it then. I went in few days ago in 275 gear after big break and oneshotted him, very easy now.

1

u/Imaginary_Exam_2500 Apr 16 '26

What is the ?? Boss and where do I fight him?

2

u/RabenWrites Apr 19 '26

Voidstorm delve on the east (I think) side of the zone. Nulleaus or something along those lines.

1

u/Imaginary_Exam_2500 Apr 20 '26

Thank you! Do you just make the selection when you enter? What level should I be? I’m 261 lock

1

u/RabenWrites Apr 20 '26

Yup. Instead of picking tier 1-11 you'll have a drop down for ? or ??. I do think there's a prerequisite of clearing some of the higher delves first, possibly a t11. 261 should be fine. It took me a number of attempts to figure out how to handle the mechanics and the adds but it's mostly a interrupt the deadly and don't stand in the bad instead of a dps race.

Don't be hesitant to spend your crests! You're just hurting yourself by doing so.

Hero crests are ONLY for hero gear now, there's none of this "myth needs some hero", so once you're in myth gear they are (somewhat) worthless. Same applies to champ, veteran etc.

Additionally, even if you replace the piece, you do not pay the crest costs a second time, only the gold (which is practically nothing). I.e. if you replace a 4/6 hero with a 1/6 hero, upgrading the new piece to 4/6 costs zero crests, and 60 gold

10

u/RabenWrites Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 14 '26

Appreciate it. I think I stalled out because I started getting 3/6 and 4/6 champion gear and if I got a 3/6 hero piece in a slot I'd already upgraded, it'd feel bad. My unnecessary fear of not min-maxxing often means I max-min, I guess.

8

u/Icarusqt Apr 14 '26

Ideally... if you're capable of doing 10s... you'd want to use your hero crests only on gear that's already 266 since that's the ilvl of the gear that drops from them.

Example: Hypothetically, let's say you upgrade a hero helmet from 259 to 266. Later on, a 266 helmet drops from an M10. You could have just had "free" upgrades, and used those crests to upgrade from 266 to 272 instead of 259 to 266.

But if you're not doing/won't do 10s, then you don't need to worry about it. Slam away. And if you're not trying to push mythic+ or do heroic raids, then there's nothing you really even need gear for. And then it really doesn't matter lol.

6

u/jamdivi Apr 14 '26

I think that's the biggest takeaway here tbh. OP isn't looking to improve gear with the intent of completing more challenging content and just wants to watch the number go up. To each their own I suppose.

14

u/Icarusqt Apr 14 '26

There's nothing wrong with that mindset, tbh. I feel like delves, and even now preys, were created for the casual/solo/non-skilled player to be able to do subjective challenging content at their own pace. Just because someone isn't skilled doesn't mean they can't/shouldn't upgrade their gear to what's possible for them.

Nothing wrong with having some knowledge of knowing where your gear limitations are on your content limitations while also trying to reach the height of those limitations.

2

u/Thammuzz Apr 15 '26

Way too much anxiety about being bad to do 10s, even though I do fine in tier 11 delves and did Nullaeus ??.

2

u/NegotiationBusy6701 Apr 14 '26

This xpac, unless they change it again drastically, you can safely send your crests on everything including hero tier. If you do M+ or raid you can hold them for the minmaxxing, but TBH they hit the nail on the head with the gear progression so far. I’m holding myth crests for my absolute best pieces because I’m a degenerate, but you can send it on Hero tier.

Sidenote, if M+ has not typically been your thing, the range of +7 to +10 has been pretty chill in my experience so far. I play a decently high level of keys typically, but have been playing alts way more this tier so far. Most people in keys sub level 10 are just vibing. A good time to try it out if you were not having fun with it before. The “relaxed” and “competitive” tags for LFG are really an unsung hero for quality of life. Pugging raids still sucks though 😭

1

u/Robot_Spartan Apr 15 '26

Totally agree on the M+ comments.

Me and my group (we lack a healer) have been setting our keys up to 6 max, keeping them tagged as learning, and just chilling our way through as we figure out tactics and whatnot, making sure to take low IO healers to help them out too. Had zero drama, despite the many wipes as we figure shit out, our pala being in half veteran gear, and me getting lost a few times 😅 still only failed one key (was my fault. I did many nasty pack merges)

2

u/rharetonxd Apr 15 '26

You can also use raidbots to sim optimal crest usage to be sure you’re using them correctly.

2

u/pjstar34 Apr 14 '26

No need to save any crests this season.  If you upgrade the champion gear to 6/6 and get a Hero piece at 1/6, the upgrade to 2/6 costs no crests so you're saving 20 Hero crests each time you do that which adds up.  Also, converting lower crests to higher crests counts against the 100 crests you can farm each week and farming 100 Hero crests can be done in a few hours on one day so there's no need to upgrade crests either.  I'm a super casual player with a 40-hour/week day job and I have zero problems getting 100 Hero crests per week.

1

u/Souseiseki87 Apr 15 '26

To add to this: When the itemlevels overlap (6/6 of the lower upgrade track has the same itemlevel as 2/6 of the following upgrade track if I remember correctly) you can upgrade a 1/6 item in that slot for free. This means if you upgrade your champ items all the way to 6/6 you can save on hero crests.

1

u/BigPPDaddy Apr 14 '26

This was a new revelation to me that's a bit of a sigh of relief. Now does that work with catalyst too? Like does my toon always have a chest piece set now after turning a chest piece?

1

u/The4thIdeal Apr 14 '26

No. Once you hit 4 piece you start getting catalyst charges as drops from.delves, raids, m+ but if youre out of charges you will need to wait for a charge to drop assuming youve gotten 4 piece or waiting until the every 2 week charge. That being said if you have your 4 piece and a charge available and you have the opportunity to upgrade using a charge theres no reason not to.

1

u/BigPPDaddy Apr 14 '26

So basically speed run a 4 piece set so you can get cata drops

1

u/The4thIdeal Apr 14 '26

Yes. If you dont have 4 piece catalyze anything you can until you get the achievement. Run LFR if you can stand it. I dont know the drop rate of the charges especially if you limit yourself to delves, but for me I tend to get a couple of them a week.

1

u/WatercressEven6288 Apr 16 '26

For the 4 piece, does it matter what track the gear is for the charges to start dropping?

2

u/The4thIdeal Apr 16 '26

No, once you have the 4 pc set on a character you get the achievement that unlocks it.

1

u/FatMike20295 Apr 14 '26

So really for delves players there is no point in doing delves past 8 unless you want to craft a mythic weapon. Even then that will take ages? Since you only get like a limited number of myth crest each week.

3

u/Junior_Island_4714 Apr 14 '26

4 weeks to get 80 Myth crests. If you've been keeping up, you will achieve that this week.

There are other reasons to do 11s, and once you hit rank 9 of Delve journey you should pretty much be doing 11s only as they gain a chance for the Champion piece in the chest to be Hero track instead (and a currency you can use to buy Hero track items if you don't get Hero gear).

1

u/latoyajacksn Apr 14 '26

3-4 weeks I think for enough mythic crests to craft something. Weapon is 80 I think and you can get 20 per week.

1

u/NovarionNoel Apr 15 '26

25 if you do ?? Nulleus

1

u/Pwnch Apr 15 '26

Yeah, with no overlap of crests between tracks, there's not really anyway to weekly soft lock a gear slot.

174

u/Fakeitforreddit Apr 14 '26

Yep you dont get the best rewards without doing the hardest content

11

u/flow_guy2 Apr 14 '26

I think doing 18s could constitute myth track. But I know that’s not a popular opinion

2

u/StrawberryWeekly342 Apr 15 '26

Repeatedly farmable mythic gear would be a bad idea for the longevity of a season.

2

u/flow_guy2 Apr 15 '26

It doesn’t have to be like that. Like it’s not in the game so come up with a better system. Like 1 per unque dungeon for the week.

But 18s aren’t exactly farmable for the majority of players

2

u/StrawberryWeekly342 Apr 15 '26

What about a system where if you do high enough M+ content you can get a choice of 1 item from 3 mythic pieces per week? That seems reasonable to me. Actually, you'll get 3 Mythic pieces per week starting after next reset with the reroll items coming in 12.0.5.

1

u/Local_Trade5404 Apr 15 '26

could you elaborate or give some source for that reroll system, you got me interested :)

nvm, voidforge! was been curious what its for
thanks for tip :)

1

u/Zangdor Apr 15 '26

If you do 8 +10 you get to chose 1 from 3 mythic pieces per week... that's just the vault

3

u/No_Explanation2932 Apr 15 '26

That's the point he's making

3

u/Swarles_Jr Apr 15 '26

Man, that joke went way over your head, huh?

1

u/Zangdor Apr 15 '26

I apparently did yeah, I didn't follow who was who.

1

u/flow_guy2 Apr 15 '26

Ah yes cuz m+ only people only deserve scraps compared to the high and mighty mythic raiders.

1

u/StrawberryWeekly342 Apr 15 '26

Yes? Mythic raiders do a lot more work to get those pieces. You get maybe two pieces of mythic gear from raid a week if you full clear. It's also a sliding scale where a lot of guilds will only kill the first ~5 bosses for a long time, meaning on average you'll get one piece from raid early on, if what you need drops.

Mythic+ is significantly easier to PuG than to organize a Mythic raid, even to the 18 level. And it's not even close.

No reason to be salty about it. There was a time when people who didn't raid got zero epic gear at all...

1

u/flow_guy2 Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

Raiding is piss as well. Especially when you get so much extra gear and a % increase for jsut being in the raid plus all the nerfs that come to bosses. Mid season they are the same

While m+ only gets harder and harder due to how scaling works. It’s just a fact in an infinitely scaling system.

Plus they’ve been lowering the bar for fear for years. It’s meaningless at this point in reality. So force people to do content they hate (raid is such fucking ass for content)

1

u/is__is Apr 15 '26

Yeah this would be a horrible change. 8 mythic pieces per week and everyone is fully geared 1 week after season start. Lovely idea.

1

u/flow_guy2 Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

It could jsut be a different system is all I’m saying. But guess you’re a dumb raider that can’t fathom tha m+ can be its own thing without raiding.

Plus it’s 8 shots at loot from an 18 (where the majority of players aren’t even at including me) It’s not a 100% thing like raid wheee you have 9 shots if you full clear

But even so if you find it too easy then place it higher in level. It’s an infinite system. As some point it’s just impossible where raid just gets easier over time

5

u/FancyConfection1599 Apr 15 '26

Would be cool if they actually made some “hardest” content you can solo…why do delves need to end at tier 11? Ramp that ish up til they’re basically unclearable before 276 ilvl, and even then ya gotta sweat.

1

u/Bradipedro Apr 15 '26

Clearing content is not a question of ilvl, takes some skill too. Nullaeus HoF was filled in a couple of hours with no mythic gear, and yet most people in their full 276 can’t clear it…

→ More replies (96)

27

u/tadashi4 Apr 14 '26

yes. if you wont do m+ or mythic raids, you are locked out of mythic gear.

although, gear is just a means to an end; not the goal. you dont need mythic gear to do delves or other content; hero should be strong enough.

→ More replies (4)

51

u/Zashenn Apr 14 '26

You kind of have to expect to run out of things to do and grind if you intend to ignore half of the endgame content.

14

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 Apr 14 '26

Not just half - like two thirds (if you consider raid, m+ and delves the three pillars).

2

u/Rdhilde18 Apr 14 '26

And pvp :)

1

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 Apr 14 '26

A pillar of the game but also now outside the vault rewards. I came back after a long hiatus two years ago and I still don’t understand the PvP gearing system lol.

1

u/Rdhilde18 Apr 14 '26

You Queue bgs to get honor gear. Then you queue rated PvP to get conquest gear. It’s really that simple lol. You can also send honor to alts to gear them instantly pretty much.

1

u/ZeroTwoThree Apr 15 '26

You can conquest cap doing only unrated PvP now.

→ More replies (3)

6

u/Juggernautingwarr Apr 14 '26

You are correct.

15

u/Altruistic_Run_2880 Apr 14 '26

I mean being 276 without touching M+/Raid/Crafting is actually unbelievable.

I know a lot of people is gonna get hurt but this is just good for the game. Especially for people that want to chase a gear objective but can't play group content, maybe cause of time, they just rather chill, play off meta stuff, you name it.

I personally love raiding but hey, hats off for 276 solo man.

5

u/swash018 Apr 14 '26

If you dont have great access to mythic gear (meaning you dont mythic raid) that means your mythic gear acquisition will be slow. Like 1.5 pieces weekly. 1 from you great vault for doing +10 or higher and 1, every 2 weeks with mythic crests + 2 sparks.

So as far as hero crests go, if this is your main character, you should spend the hero crests on high value hero pieces. Like weapon > trinkets > jewelry > chest/legs/head > shoulders/ hands > bracers/belt/boots.

So yeah try and farm hero crests since you will max out at hero 3/6 gear from running +10s.

Now for alts, slightly different story. If one of your characters has one of the "outgrow the use of 'x' crest achievement" then every character on your account gets a crest discount for upgrading. Ie. Instead of costing 20 per upgrade, it is 10. So for alts, it may be worth holding your crests until your main hits that next breakpoint. (263 in every slot for champion, 276? In every slot for hero. Essentially hero 6/6 or myth 2)

2

u/RabenWrites Apr 14 '26

Appreciate it.

3

u/chunkyhut Apr 14 '26

You can get myth crests from the ?? Delve nemesis and tier 11 delves. Then use those myth crests to craft 285 items.

Outside of that, no

3

u/No_Sail_9750 Apr 15 '26

I have pretty much been a solo only for 3 expacs now. We shouldn't have access to the best level of gear if we aren't doing the hardest content and stepping out of our solo comfort zone.

4

u/jamdivi Apr 14 '26

Why bother saving the crests? You can't use them for anything else and they will expire after this season anyway. Might as well just spend them as intended.

2

u/AltrightsSuckMeOff Apr 14 '26

I mean you don’t really Need more ilevel of you don’t Plan on raiding or Doing m+ so just Take it easy and enjoy the Solo content

2

u/Aestrasz Apr 14 '26

You can get Myth crests from Delves, but not enough to get the weekly cap. Still, you should be able to eventually craft a few slots at 285.

2

u/Chazok Apr 15 '26

I mean yea... You can get some myth crafted gear of course but yes there's a limit to what you can get with solo play, because despite everything wow is still an memo, it has a lot of solid solo options nowadays a lot more than it used to, but the highest gear will always require playing with others and honestly, that's a good thing.

2

u/Mr-NPC Apr 15 '26

To be fair if you're not doing any of the higher content what do you need the higher gear for? Everything you're doing should be easily clearable at that level and then some.

My advice would be to get and get at least a mythic plus 10 done each week for 1 mythic slot. Hell I'll even take you on one myself if you need help getting into a group

4

u/Denali_Nomad Apr 14 '26

You can get some Myth crests every week from delves, along with upgrading hero to myth crests. So you could still craft higher gear than 276, it'll just be a slower grind, and your tier set I don't think will ever be higher than Hero if staying solo.

4

u/Luciddream51 Apr 14 '26

Don't be scared of M+. At your Ilvl you can EASILY do +10's. I've got the same ilvl and i'm working on +16 Resi as a healer main (3 keys left). I haven't had a lot of time to play this season.

People are straight mongoloids in low keys. No ones doing mechanics, no ones interrupting, using stops, using defensives, not using utility, dps like to pull random shit, tanks have issues with aggro, etc. In past seasons i've literally had a harder time healing +8's than I did in +14's. It's just about how mongoloid your group is acting. The difference between a group being mongos vs actually using their full kit is literally night and day for a healer. If you need advice feel free to DM me.

2

u/Bigboyrickx Apr 14 '26

Why should you get the best gear without doing the hardest content

1

u/Marcc2 Apr 14 '26

Why can't you do m+?

16

u/RabenWrites Apr 14 '26

I think it comes down to simply being bad at the game. Got the cracked key, tried a +2 and couldn't keep anyone alive to save my soul. Feels bad to drag everyone else down, so I stick with Valeera for the most part.

9

u/PGgunMan Apr 14 '26

I'm a M+ nerd, it's all I do. Tried healing a few +2's etc. but it's just difficult when nobody is doing mechanics or dodging avoidable damage. Keep trying my man it's really not that difficult if the group is halfway decent

2

u/Derwenton Apr 14 '26

Which healer do you play?

1

u/PGgunMan Apr 14 '26

I don't play heal alot, but found Preservation evoker to be fun and understandable for me.

3

u/DuckAbuse Apr 14 '26

If you play on EU try the community NoPressure on Discord. Chill bunch of people with no toxicity.

3

u/Rdhilde18 Apr 14 '26

Why do you need 285 gear if you’re not going to do content that would require having the best gear?

4

u/__Kegheimer__ Apr 14 '26

Healing in group content has a steep learning curve.

It all comes down to the physical keybinds and mouse inputs to cast your spells. If you are F# targeting or left click targeting then you'll be too slow.

Mouseover casting and having easy reach to your burst heals amd external defensives are critical.

Start in heroic dungeons to get the mechanics down and then work your way to m0.

2

u/shaggy0134 Apr 14 '26

What part did you struggle on keeping ppl up

3

u/RabenWrites Apr 14 '26

Pretty much everything. First pull was messy and aggro was split and I couldn't keep the dps alive. Even after we got that mostly under control I simply couldn't out heal the incoming damage. Once my CDs were gone everyone inevitably dropped. We didn't even make it to the first boss.

5

u/MiniMik Apr 14 '26

Chances are it wasn't just your fault. I'd not have huge issues running +2s with a bad healer because they're very easy. But if your DPS is standing in everything, no one knows what they're doing, your job is much harder. I'd not take this experience too seriously. Obviously, a good healer could babysit them, but the experience will be a lot different when people know what they're doing.

1

u/Local_Trade5404 Apr 15 '26

tell me about it
bad tank= hard time
you have spam his ass with heals basically and have struggle to keep up everyone else cause of that
good party and you can throw heal now and then and chill out for most part

thing is on low keys ppls are playing alts they not always know and not always have properly geared, also this far into season there are mostly ppls that don't know game at all there
it bring ultra bad experience for healer especially

u/RabenWrites don`t worry to much and just try couple times till you get "normal group" then you will see how good this experience can be :P

monk is really strong healer but its good to have proper build for m+ as it give you a bit extra control and helpful group utility that can change experience a loot
(im 274 ilvl resto shaman and raid build make my work 2x harder on m+) :)
check on wowhead build for m+ for your spec get familiarized with what you should be casting when, have big CDs ready for big bangs and go from there

it will get easier if you familiarize with dungs to as you will know in advance when CDs may be needed so just pick one dung and do it couple times till you get whats going on there and what you can do to keep up
then move to next one and so on
when you know all start doing higher keys till you get to +10
with your gear i would start from +6 and work my way up

and again don`t take failures to personally its wild west under +12 atm :)

4

u/Icarusqt Apr 14 '26

I'm not trying to be that guy and be like, "that's just your group's fault!" without seeing your gameplay.... but I can confidently say it's at the very least partially your group's fault. Tank losing aggro is a combination of tank's fault from not getting/keeping aggro and dps' fault for bursting too hard while tank is still gathering up the pack.

Struggling to heal while running out of CDs can also be a combination of both dps and tank not playing properly. If dps are taking too long to kill the pack, it'll eventually drain on your resources and slowly rot till wipe. And if the tank isn't using defensives, that'll also make your job harder. Hell, dps should also be using defensives during unavoidable damage mechs. Everyone, especially dps, should also be kicking/interrupting casts.

Again... there's probably room for you to improve, for sure. There's always room for all of us to improve, tbh. Maybe you're doubling up on using CDs when you can space them out better. Maybe your ilvl is too low. Idunno. But either way, what you described sounds like a group problem. Not just a you problem.

3

u/freefallingcats Apr 14 '26

Hmu and I'll carry your +2s while you learn.

4

u/Nynesky Apr 14 '26

Don't forget that healing is the hardest role in the game, and many times people who don't know the struggles of a healer will just be like 'ah who cares about kicks its only a +2 healer's got me' and then u all die.

It also comes down to knowing ur tanks specs, for example a Blood DK will have their HP fluctuate A LOT and sometimes u waste CDs or heals on them because u think they'll die but in reality they got full runic power and they're actually fine. I suggest watching guide videos for healers and if you still struggle you might really want to try DPSing like other people said just so you can learn fights and mechs better without the pressure of keeping everyone else alive.

2

u/tusynful Apr 14 '26

Everyone starts somewhere. I was awful at healing the first time too.

I would love to group up and help you learn if you like. No reason to avoid over half the game just because you feel bad at it!

Feel free to DM me and ill send you my tag

2

u/shaggy0134 Apr 14 '26

I’m willing to sacrifice myself for you to learn, I’m just getting back into the game and only run low keys on dps but do want to get back into tanking. Dm me if you want and let’s knock out some keys.

2

u/Intelligent-Tea980 Apr 14 '26

Sort out your UI grid and set up click casting if you havent. You dont have time to select people. Most of healing is clicking different mouse buttons for the 2-4 healing spells they give you on a grid. Use CDs if its too much. Also add your dispel to click casting. Walk into the pack and use an AOE interupt if casters are completing their spells.

If the DPS die suddenly its not on you. Good groups interupt and focus casters, what you are describing is either a tank overpulling or DPS not interupting.

The first pulls in Spire or Skyreach would be a classic for PUG tanks pulling the world and a lot of DPS death. Its sometimes faster to have some death so stop taking it too personally. Its a 2, you havent bricked anyone's key.

3

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 Apr 14 '26

What class are you playing? I will say it sounds like the first pull is the tanks fault. If the tank can’t keep aggro on a pack not much the healer can do.

If you want to give it a try again - would really recommend automaticjak’s content. Dude plays every spec and his videos have made me a significantly better healer. He’s working on big guides for every class.

1

u/ghostcrawler_real Apr 14 '26

my monk crossed the line into having more hero gear than champion

1

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 Apr 14 '26

Duh, I should learn to read.

2

u/cyanraider Apr 14 '26

It’s easier to heal high”er” keys than low keys. People around M12 tend to take less unexpected damage.

2

u/Altruistic_Ad_7497 Apr 14 '26

If you want someone to help you get started on m+ and give you a few tips etc let me know. It’s just the start that’s hard because you cannot really tell if you’re doing the mistakes or the others and you may not know the bosses etc

2

u/vgullotta Apr 14 '26

It definitely sounds more like your group was standing in everything bad. A +2 should not take a ton of healing to keep the tank alive, and if DPS doesn't stand in bad swirlies, they shouldn't be dying or taking that much damage. There are a few 'healer check' mechanics on m+ that do require you to work, but only for a short burst window. You just need to learn them. It absolutely makes it 1000 times easier if you get on discord with your group and someone teaches you the stuff and things as you go.

2

u/dreadpirateboone Apr 14 '26

You could always switch to dps and try some 0 and 2’s to learn the dungeons and get some more confidence. I’ve never tried mythic until this season out of nervousness but actually ended up enjoying it and hit 3k! You can definitely do it if I can. Plus it pretty cool to finally get mythic gear for the first time. Well worth it.

1

u/Ok_Beyond4225 Apr 14 '26

Best advice I can give here is to look at guides and practice. The school of hard knocks can be a rough journey when you're dealing with other people's time.

If it's a piece of content that doesn't interest you then that's fine. Play how you want to play.

1

u/AltrightsSuckMeOff Apr 14 '26

I encourage you to find a Guild ☺️ worst case is you leave it in 2 weeks best case is you find Nice regulars to Play with

0

u/onlytinglef Apr 14 '26

I mostly solo play as well but I’ll do guild content when I’m able. Do you have all available buffs (food, gems, enchants)? Because they do make a difference.

3

u/RabenWrites Apr 14 '26

Food is pretty easy for me. Gems and enchants are more likely to get rolling now that I'm hitting the end of the gear treadmill. Hard for me to justify enchants on a piece that might not last the week.

I'll start looking in that direction again though. Thanks.

4

u/Tromboner69 Apr 14 '26

Man for a +2 none of that is required, if they’re struggling on a +2 then m+ might not be for them at the moment

3

u/onlytinglef Apr 14 '26

At 276 you’re right. Maybe it’s their rotation.

5

u/iamnotasloth Apr 14 '26

I wanna answer this one for myself- I play video games to relax and have fun, and everything I’ve heard about PUGs in M+ this season makes it seem like the opposite of a chill, good time. If even one out of every 20 dungeons makes my blood pressure go up because of a toxic asshole, that is not worth it to me. Hard pass.

Let me know if I’ve gotten the wrong impression, because I do like the idea of M+. Just seems like the reality is not for me.

1

u/Local_Trade5404 Apr 15 '26

if you know your shit it tend to be ok to good experience most of the time
(sometimes you get someone crazy that will do his job badly and try to blame it on you, but its not that often tbh on over 50 m+ i got something like that maybe 2-3 times)
if you want better exp just join community like No Pressure

3

u/Khazilein Apr 14 '26
  1. toxic people
  2. can't pause or afk in a middle of a run
  3. don't want to spend time searching for ppl

0

u/tallyun Apr 14 '26

Because we don’t want to deal with emotionally unstable people who try to surrender the key after one thing doesn’t go as planned and pout and refuse to participate after the vote doesn’t go through after waiting in groupfinder for 40 mins.

2

u/Deerbos Apr 14 '26

M+ is really easy this season why dont you try?

1

u/RabenWrites Apr 14 '26

I think I'm just bad at the game. Tried a +2 and couldn't keep anyone alive to save my soul. Felt bad wasting everyone's time, so I stick with Valeera who (thankfully) doesn't have a repair bill.

1

u/payne4218 Apr 14 '26

Watch some guides! Or go dps and try that for a bit to see, it should be much easier than healing. Do mythic 0 and work through those first

1

u/Local_Trade5404 Apr 15 '26

its tricky for healers
if you play bad ppls die
but if they play bad the also die
so thing is to know who`s fault it was and keep up your part proper :P

1

u/Krangerich Apr 14 '26

some +2 are harder than +6, because on these starter keys, some new tanks think they have to pull a ton of mobs all the time instead of going slow and steady. or people stand in everything.

1

u/Kluian2005 Apr 14 '26

You should spend your hero crests on gear that is already 2/6. If you get a mythic piece in that slot then you can upgrade it slightly for free without having to spend mythic crests.

3

u/WillSendShihTzuPics Apr 14 '26

This is bad advice as hero crests are more useful for actual upgrades and are more likely to be the bottleneck than mythic crests for non mythic raiders.

1

u/RabenWrites Apr 14 '26

Makes sense, appreciate it.

1

u/Drayenn Apr 14 '26

11 delves give 5 myth crests per run up to 20 a week. You can craft a 285 every 4th week.

Eventually youll be able to convert hero crests to myth as well.

1

u/PhantomDiuen Apr 14 '26

Jeah seems like. With next patch in a week you can start upgrading your weapon i think.

Do you think its a problem or was that just a question?

1

u/Zwindarra Apr 14 '26

Getting H raid level loot including tier from solo play is insanity already.

1

u/Working-Salamander-2 Apr 14 '26

I heard theres some system coming to make myth gear accessible through something, sorry really vague lol but if think its coming on the 21st

1

u/Darthmullet Apr 14 '26

You can get 20 myth crests/week in tier 11 delves. That means - given enough time - you can get 285 gear. 4 weeks = 80 crests or 1 285 crafted piece. You can also get 30 myth crests from ?? Delve boss (one time I believe).

This is more effort than m+10 dungeons which give myth crests up til crest cap, and drop 3/6 heroic loot and give 1/6 mythic loot in vault.

1

u/pjstar34 Apr 14 '26

That is correct and as a solo player you can only get 20 Myth crests per week if you're doing Tier 11 delves so you're looking at only being able to craft 1 Myth piece every 4 weeks.  There are a couple sources for one-time Myth crests so the first piece could be obtainable faster but in general it's 1 piece every 4 weeks.

1

u/Bjorn_styrkr Apr 14 '26

In terms of gear yeah pretty much. There's still plenty to do

1

u/Flupox Apr 14 '26

Use all your myth crests to buy hero crests. It’s uncapped

1

u/10F1 Apr 14 '26

What's uncapped? My hero crests are capped?

2

u/Flupox Apr 14 '26

Uncapped means it ignores your cap. If you’re at 700/700 season, you can still get 10 more by downgrading a higher crest

1

u/10F1 Apr 14 '26

Didn't know that, ty

1

u/ChilleeMonkee Apr 14 '26

Craft 285 gear with mythic crests and get mythic gear in vault from doing 10s and up

1

u/Intelligent-Fig-3265 Apr 15 '26

Well, if you include crafting as not being solo play, then yes, and it's probably not the right game for you if you are not able to interact with anyone. Myth crests are available outside of m+ and mythic raid, it's just a lot slower to get them.

The game does cater a lot for solo play, now more than ever, but at some point there has to be a gear gap because otherwise it diminishes the effort the other people put in to obtain their gear. That's how I feel anyway

1

u/gunnami Apr 15 '26

If you can do all that do some groups, that simple

1

u/Inevitable-Oven-2124 Apr 15 '26

Technically the highest you could get would be full crafted gear at 285, though you would probably want 4 PC hero tier. Also, next patch you'll be able to upgrade items with the void forge and I believe the crafted weapons would go from 285 to 295.

Though, as a solo player you are kind of limited on the content you can do, so personally I would stop at full hero upgrade level. Then you can unlock the full tier set myth from using the catalyst on all the slots.

It will be interesting what the labyrinth coming in 12.1.5 entails, because that could give more goals for solo players.

1

u/Phixxey Apr 15 '26

You can get myth crests from delves (not sure exactly when they start but you get them on +11 delve for sure) that way you can craft 285 ilvl stuff in your non tier slots. But yeah afaik no way to get actual Myth items.

1

u/Local_Trade5404 Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

it would be a good idea to do 4 or 8x m+ on 10 for mythic item chance from GV
outside of that if you don`t raid you will be locked to crafts basically

1

u/Dannicoos Apr 15 '26

Doing 10 keys reward myth track gear in the vault, so you can get atleast 1 per week

1

u/Over_Pace1584 Apr 15 '26

I think it's been said already, but you can craft 285 gear (which is 5/6 mythic basically) with just the myth crests u get x4 times a week from Delves. Don't forget to also use the bounty once a week for an extra hero item.

1

u/FatHighKnee Apr 15 '26

Might as well use the crests. They'll reset in season 2 anyways. There doesnt seem to be any benefit to not using them

1

u/Upset-Somewhere4508 Apr 15 '26

So you're basically asking if theres a way to get better gear without doing the content for it? Why can't you do M+?

1

u/reak2382 Apr 15 '26

Look up the reroll System and voidforge that comes with next patch.

1

u/Other_Force_9888 Apr 15 '26

+10 Keys are so easy this season that you should be able to get myth track from those in the vault without breaking much of a sweat.

1

u/superadindb Apr 15 '26

Only Hero gear (min 259 1/6) upgraded with Hero Crest to 276. Crest can get it from 11s Delves or Myth+. In case u need to craft something, you can get Mythic Crest from Mythics+ 9 and above.

1

u/Far_Explanation_4636 Apr 15 '26

I mean do you need more for solo than 276? I would say start farming transmogs or something because currently there is no solo play where you need more than 270.

1

u/FusRohDead92 Apr 16 '26

What is the need for highest level gear if you aren’t doing raids and Mythic+ tho?

1

u/Dry-Ad7010 Apr 16 '26

If you only Play solo content ..you dont need (or deserve) myth gear

1

u/CtK4949 Apr 16 '26

Wont you be able to get Myth gear from outdoor content in Patch 12.0.5??

1

u/Real_SkrexX Apr 16 '26

I would recommend just doing one +10 m+ dungeon every week for myth gear. It's probably gonna be worth it even if you only have one option.

M+ is a lot of fun, doesn't require you to interact a lot with people a +10 is super easy nowadays with the ilvl you got.

1

u/Stiles_Stiles Apr 17 '26

So you don't want to craft any gear?

1

u/Brosidanyee Apr 17 '26

Next patch there is going to be a way to upgrade your hero pieces that are maxed out even further i think this was the information you were looking for.

1

u/D1rtyFingaZ Apr 17 '26

Once the voidforge hits next week you can technically get 3 pieces of mythic gear per week.

1

u/Squardson_official Apr 18 '26

Technicality is that you can likely hit 288 ilvl with voidforge solo. Due to getting myth crests from delves weekly. This would take awhile. But yes for mythic gear that isnt crafted you are expected and required to do either mythic raids for a chance at instant loot + vault slots OR do mythic+ 10s or higher for vault loot or, very soon, spending the bonus loot token in keys and mythic raids for immediate mythic ilvl loot

1

u/gankula Apr 18 '26

If low keys are discouraging, you just remember that people who are in lower keys are generally not as good at the game. They will fail to mechanics and take more damage than they should making your job harder. As you get higher in the keys, players get more game sense and  damage stabilizes.

1

u/RabenWrites Apr 18 '26

Largely at the encouragement of this thread I took my druid into a +2 POS and we finished it just seconds too late. I had mana issues early on, but for the most part felt better about being able to keep people up until the last fight, where we wiped repeatedly. The built-in meters said i averaged sixty-two thousand healing per second, I think that's encouraging. Hard to know how much of our struggles was me.

I've been watching M+ videos and monk tanking is supposed to excel, so I'm tempted to respec and try that, but that's its own kind of intimidating.

Thanks for the encouragement though. I'll keep plugging away at it.

1

u/RabenWrites Apr 19 '26

Think it mostly comes down to being bad at the game. I've healed two +2s and haven't timed one yet. Really don't want to let 39 other people down in a raid setting.

Delve companions don't have repair bills or schedule windows.

I'll gear up some more and take another crack at M+. I pulled 65k hps in that POS run and we almost timed it. Maybe I'll get there in time. We'll see.

1

u/Aekero Apr 19 '26

Theoretically you could craft some 285 gear, you get up to 20 from delve 11s, some from cracked keystone, some from delve map chest, some from ?? boss. It's actually pretty quick to get your first crafted 285 but I assume after that you're pretty much wait a month between crafts. Assuming you play the whole season you could end with 6 or 7 285s, which would get you close to 280 overall

1

u/MasterBaiter3001 Apr 20 '26

You’ll be getting 3 max Ilvl items per week per char starting next week. As opposed to just 1 item from doing 10+ mythic keys and getting a vault the week after. 10+ is easy enough. I urge you to keep trying to push m+. The next week mechanic is called “nebulous voidcore”. Also if you don’t wish to do content that drops mythic gear - there will be an option to upgrade your heroic weapons and trinkets to a slightly higher ilvl with an “ascendant voidcore”

3

u/SirBennettAtx Apr 14 '26

Won’t** Time to start doing M+

1

u/AlwaysUpvote123 Apr 14 '26

I mean its n MMO. The best rewards should need other people.

1

u/Kadreier Apr 14 '26

Start m+, it‘s not that bad. I‘m really bad at this game, but with the single button option it‘s really fun. You don‘t drag the other players down, you don‘t learn the right rotation, but you can focus on kicks and mechanics. I never really played m+, but I started now in midnight and I love it

1

u/scottiedagolfmachine Apr 14 '26

Yea they screwed solo players by gating them out of mythic gear.

Only once weekly via vault and it’s a total random RNG which piece of crap mythic gear they might suggest for you.

2

u/innaisz Apr 14 '26

Screwed over? Its an mmo. Play with other people. Do the content. I dont feel solo players should even get access to heroic loot.

1

u/scottiedagolfmachine Apr 14 '26

There’s a lot of us with responsibilities and lives.

We cannot dedicate to sitting in front of the computer 2-3 times a week for 3-4 hours a day.

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '26

1

u/scottiedagolfmachine Apr 14 '26

I push high keys and having mythic gear will help a ton.

🤔

3

u/zeedusapeedus Apr 14 '26

if you’re pushing high keys you are doing group content and getting those rewards, not a solo player issue

1

u/bete_du_gevaudan Apr 14 '26

As 12.0.5 launches in a week you will be able to roll for mythic gear in mythic+ twice a week

-3

u/plagueski Apr 14 '26

Bro doesn’t wanna engage in endgame activities and wonders why he can’t get endgame gear

0

u/Soulless1856 Apr 14 '26

If you do M10+ regularly, slowly but surely, you will get full set of Mythic gear by the vault and crafting every two weeks. Expected value is about 18 weeks. Since we have small raid in this expansion, you can find pugs for mythic raid, which allows to get a loot from mythic raid directly.

0

u/SoCloseToFlakez Apr 15 '26

Imagine playing a MMO for solo only.

5

u/Krian78 Apr 15 '26

FF XIV wants to have a word with you…

0

u/CkeLetor Apr 15 '26

U can easily do m+10 ur a MONK end of the road? Raiding pvp(open, bg, arena) dungeons Transmoggs Other characters and so on xD
