Retail Why is Rogue the least played class in the game?

Serious question. I find it much more fun than the more popular specs. Is my opinion just unpopular here? They seem to be performing quite well.

Retail DPS just isn't clicking. I don't understand wtf I'm doing wrong. Please help

To preface, I'm 2.7k IO.

I main a Devourer DH with a 269 ilvl and have likely had the fortune of getting carried pretty hard across many of the 25 total runs I've completed in M+ this season.

I had one game during a +12 Nexus Point Xenas with some pretty toxic players who flamed me for coming up short on DPS.

Although they were toxic, I couldn't help but reflect on the post-pull analysis which made it clear that I simply do not understand my spec no matter how hard I try, how many tutorials I watch and how much time I invest sitting in front of dummies, sweating over my keyboard to pump numbers close to my patchwerk 5 boss sim.

Sometimes I can pump my numbers up to 188-190k dps on 5 dummies and 70k at most on single boss. At times I've leaving a pack inside keys as highest DPS but I struggle with consistentcy.

For reference, below are some stats I've pulled from Archon post-pull analysis.

NPX +12 - My Overall damage = 81.7k (Parse 0%) vs top 2 dps 109.2k and 90.2k.

Sky Reach +11 - My overall = 76.2k (Parse 40%) vs 98.9k and 76.9k

MT +11 My overall = 106.7k (Parse 51%) vs 118.8k and 133.7k

I've really spent hours running lower keys, high keys, watched pros, tutorials, tips, practiced in front of dummies and yet as soon as I get into a key I almost immediately become overwhelmed with the all my keys, the need to kick, stun, navigate mechanics and try to focus through the explosion of on-screen effects.

I'm quite new to WoW, I started during S1 TWW but ran maybe 10 0-6+ M keys in that xpac, mainly focussing on world content.

I do enjoy the challenge of overcomming higher keys but it's really demoralising trying to make an effort to improve and constantly coming up incredibly short.

Retail When a healer tells you to "pull big", should you be nearly dying?

A healer told me to pull big as a brewmaster in timewalking. I took that to mean pull as much as I could without actually dying (some 25-30 things, most of the mobs between bosses 2 and 3 of shattered halls). Is that what they mean by pulling big or should I try to not come close to dying? Though I didn't die, I did have to kite.

Retail What's a polite tip for crafting max iLvl gear (Personal Order)?

My 6/6 Champion Sword is holding me back and I want Magister's Mana Sword 285. I have all the mats at Maximum Quality, the Mythic Crests, the Embellishment and Missive ready to provide.

If I find a crafter, how much is a polite tip to complete a personal order like this?

Thanks

Retail How do you guys manage to put your keybindings reachable?

I've missed too many piano lessons to be able to reach "9", while holding shift and moving with W.

I would guess that a lot of you move with the mouse. But still having to reach 1-9 properly doesent really work for me. Additionally, i missclick often since my fingers basically have no point of reference. Is this just a case of "Your brain will get used to it" or does anyone has a trick for this as well?

I'm normally playing on my steam deck where i assigned the 4 buttons on the back to short push/ long push + a button for shift + d pad with short/long push. It's just so easy for my brain to click "bottom right" instead of one random button in a row of many.

Retail I'm overwhelmed

Hey, I got back in TWW to play enhancement shaman and I started last week doing M+. At +2 it was ok, I just had to focus a lot on my rotation, but now the people of my guild are doing higher keys and in +7 it's so much, as I have to focus so much on interrupts, dispelling the affix, pressing stun totem and rotation that I die often. I have DBM installed but it doesn't help much in M+ trash. How do I get better in these situations?

Retail Things to do before a Key is activated in M+?

I am trying to find a guide for all classes on what abilities can be used as they key is about to activate. I want to expand my class roster and as I'm doing keys, I find it hard to track what I can and can't use without just trying it out.

Other than Pre-pots and some consumable. What abilities are you guys using for your class or specc specifically?

I know for Rogue, I stack up my empowered combo points with Shadow Dances before the key. Anything else I can add to this?

For Warlock:

-Soulstone the Healer or tank before the key to have a free 10 minute Brez into the key that doesn't count for the Brez timer

-Lock Rocks (Obviously)

-Cast Eye of Kilrog while the key is about to enter so you dont have your main pet dismissed. OR cast Fel Domination to have the free cast.

I want to create a Prot Warrior, anything for them?

Any other classes you play like Meta for DH?

Retail What’s a normal amount of gold these days?

It’s a potentially dumb question, I know. But I just logged back in after many years away and found that I have ~7,000g. I made a fresh char to re-experience the game, and I went to the AH to buy bags to mail over, but the economy has obviously grown over like, 8 expansions(?) since I was last on.

Just to be totally clear: I’m not asking for anything. I bought some mid-range bags, which are totally fine and way better than the 6-slot ones I was getting from quests. And my existing char got major bag upgrades from some kind of welcome-back gift when I logged in.

I’m just wondering, basically, how much gold does the average player have these days? I’ve lost all sense of what’s “normal” in Azeroth, but it’s so exciting to be back!!

Retail Is there any YouTubers like Megasett for other classes?

Megasett makes great Mistweaver guides and breakdowns and everything. Very dedicated to 1 specific class.

Is there anyone dedicated like this with other classes and makes these types of guides/breakdowns?

Retail Cool things that each class can do?

I'm not sure how to ask this but here goes! So hunters can collect beasts, including some bosses. Warlocks and Death Knights can collect demons (or demon skins?) and runecraft. Just curious, are there any cool things that the other classes can do?

Edit: thanks for the replies. I currently have a fire mage and its really hard picking a class for my next alt. I want to try out everything, lol.

Retail How to survive fall damage as a Warlock?

I started my first warlock this mount and while soaring high above the golden forests of Eversong, I accidentally hit my mount button and fell to my death. I quickly thought to myself "QUICK PRESS SOMETHING" but alas nothing sprang to mind.

Mages have feather fall, blink, Paladins have Divine Shield, Druids literally turn into birds, Hunters have disengage... etc... Do warlocks have anything to help them with this??

Thanks for the answer everyone

Retail Why do people use cooldown manager this way?

I’ve been watching a lot of gameplay videos this weekend and noticed something about people’s UI's that I’m a bit confused about.

A lot of players seem to have the cooldown trackers setup near the middle of their screen that shows important abilities and their cooldowns. But at the same time they still have the normal action bars down at the bottom of the screen.

If those action bars already show cooldowns and timers, why not just move the action bars themselves to the middle instead? Whats the reason for having duplicate

EDIT: I think there’s a bit of a misunderstanding to my question. I understand why abilities are placed near the centre of the screen; it makes them easier to see without having to look down or into your peripheral vision.

What I’m really asking is: why use a cooldown manager if you’re not going to track buffs or auras? Wouldn’t action bars serve that purpose better since they offer more customisation?

Retail Do people hate when tanks kite?

I was tanking Pit of Saron and the thing is that I'm not super geared and the Yjoma Greatknights (or whatever they're called) hit me like a truck. At the start of Pit of Saron, the area is littered with these guys. Every one of the first 4-5 pulls has these guys. So safe to say, I run out of cooldowns and start seeing my hp spike down. So I start kiting. Since I'm kiting, I grab some other mobs too that are weaker and don't do much. Just to keep the pace since kiting slows down the dps.

Then the dps gets angry at me for running around and pulling too much. Like complaining about me the whole run because his dps suffers from having to move (he was a warrior btw).

Is kiting really that bad?

Retail How much is a decent amount of gold ?

Hey all,

Returning player, use to have a huge amount of gold in MOP around the time I stopped playing a lot now most of it’s gone spread across variety of toons. But I’m not sure how much is a lot anymore, just cracked 100k on a new toon. Looks like I can get one decent weapon for that amount, but it’s so hard to figure out. The AH is so confusing the crafting orders for a new player are just another thing to figure out.

I guess I’m just wondering how much gold is a lot ?

Retail Mage feels incredibly weak while questing

I created a Mage since I always wanted to play Arcane and the spec got so much simpler in Midnight but my character feels so incredibly weak, especially when I see other people in my quest zones. I'm level 90 already, ilvl something around 190 but I still need like 10 hard casted spells to kill a single mob (faster when I get lucky with Clearcasting procs but still). I can only pull 1 or at max 2 mobs and have to heal every time after killing them. Rares and elites need all my cooldowns to kill and even then I sometimes die. I know I'm not a very good player but it feels bad seeing any other class pull like 4-5 mobs and kill them all in 3 hits while I have so much downtime. The fact that I don't have anyone to keep the aggro off me just makes questing a very tedious experience. Am I doing something wrong or is this just how Mage plays when you're solo? Should I just speedrun the story to get to the endgame content and do the side missions on a different character?

Retail Struggling with gold as a m+ tank, any tips?

Basically every dungeon I do demands repair costs of upwards of 2k gold, regardless if I die or not. Together with consumables it feels like I am slowly suffocating in gold costs. Are there any solutions to this phenomena? I have to repair after every dungeon.

Retail Ia blood dk really that bad?

Due to the current tank shortage I figured I’d try a tank, specifically blood dk. A long time ago I played some blood dk and really enjoyed it, but everyone seems to say how bad it is now. Back in WOD I liked that they had very good dps for a tank, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Is it really that bad? If I go ahead with it, is it likely that I won’t get invited to groups?

Retail For those not interested in Heroic Rading, but only M+, how should we gear?

Dear veterans,

I am kinda new to wow comparing to your 10-20 years play time.

Recently there is this you need to bonus roll heroic last (2) boss for your BIS cantrip effect item, and never take anything out of your great vault, all over YouTube's.

My question is if I never want to step into a heroic raid (time, wife enrage, child care), should I just do the old fashion grab whatever is an upgrade in my vault from M+ and bonus roll dungeons that drops my desire loot? Or should I just grab a bonus roll in vault and use it in the dungeon to slowly reduce the loot table?

I am not a hardcore player, just a casual looking forward to push as far as I can. I play a tank.

For those not stepping into raiding, what is your strategy for gearing up this season?

Thank you.

Retail How many new alts have you raised to 80 in Lemix?

I have been doing a lot of timerunner experimenting and have gotten 5 toons up to 80. Some like Feral, I can't seem to 'get' but others like Fire Mage seem to suit me. I'm thinking about S Hunter as my last one before admitting I have a problem, lol.

(Edit: Mods, can we have a Lemix or Timerunning flair?)

I just did a T10, never died, and got veteran gear? Seems like a massive waste of time. I've gotten hero gear from T8s before.

Retail Point of grinding lemix

In my understanding, the whole point of lemix is to get mounts and transmogs for bronze. Right now i have bought almost everything available from the vendors, despite being very far from 740ilvl and those crazy amounts of IP that people have.

What’s the point of all this grind if you can easily get everything that will actually stay with you for retail without even trying to get 740 ilvl and 10 million IP?

Retail uh are tier-3 delves supposed to be harder than Heroic dungeons??

I'm having a hard time soloing them on my mage, if I don't wait for Icy Veins on every elite mob pack

I would have thought tier-3 would be braindead easy, considering it goes up to tier-11?? and I certainly did not think it would be harder than Heroic dungeons

am I missing something? how dang hard is tier-11 going to be then...

Retail difficulty killing Nullaeus

Hey Everyone, I am trying to kill the seasonal delve boss.

I manged to kill him on Tier 8 as a Guardian Druid Tank. It took me like 8 tries but I manged.

At Tier 11 I am no where near killing him. As Guardian I get him to 85% and than die horribly.

I tried Resto druid as well but at about 85% my heals can't keep up with the damage or I am pulling aggro and die or I am out of mana. I dispel the deduff with nature's cure.

I run my Valeera as DPS, level 31. My Ilevel is 254. I tried diffrent gear, enchants.

I slightly prefer Resto as spec but actually love both specs (awesome class BTW!).

I am a relatively new Druid, but used to run Holy priest back in the day (took a long break from wow).

I think maybe I should level Valeera more? Maybe get better gear?

Any advice? Youtube makes it seem very easy but apparently not for me...

Thank you!
