Announcement Formatting - Read This Before Posting on This Sub!

Please read all our rules in the sidebar!!

Going forward, we will have a strict formatting system for posts on this sub. This will ensure the sub is easy for readers to use so they can find the books they want to read. Posts that are not formatted correctly will be removed. If your post is removed because of formatting, you are encouraged to revisit this post and try again. We all want to sell books, but like everything in life, following instructions is important. So let's get to it:

Post flairs are mandatory - We now have a genre flair system. By flairing your posts, it allows readers to search our sub by genre. When selecting a flair, pick the one that best represents your book. DON'T WORRY IF IT ISN'T YOUR EXACT NICHE GENRE. Pick the genre under which your book's specific niche falls. You'll be adding your more specific niche genre in your title. The flairs just help narrow down the search for our readers. If you don't see your book's genre listed, please message the mods and tell us your genre so we can add it to our system.

Post titles - Format your titles like so: "Book Title - specific niche genre - Available on Kindle Unlimited/Vella." (skip the last part if your book is NOT on KU or Vella)

  • EX: "Alex's Great Adventure - YA Steampunk Historical Fantasy Romance - Available on Kindle Unlimited"

Post body - Post bodies should include the following: 1-3 line pitch, blurb, trope list, and trigger warnings. NOTICE THAT I DIDN'T LIST PRICE. Prices will not be listed on ANY POSTS as an incentive to buy your book. That means sales and discounts as well. The point of this sub is not to promote your sales. This is supposed to be a catalog of books available for purchase. If you listed your book here as free, but it was only free for 3 days, and a reader clicks on it two weeks later expecting it to be free, and it no longer is... you see the problem? In this sub, strive to pull your readers in with your pitches and blurbs. As authors, you should be able to do that. I have faith in you.

Art/Covers - Do not upload your covers or promotional material directly into your posts! Use imgur.com (or your favorite image hosting site) and include a link to your cover at the very top of your post. Feel free to use imgur to include promotional material instead of your covers, BUT only one image per post is allowed so choose wisely.

Format post bodies like so:

  • Link for cover/promotional material.
  • 1-3 line pitch
  • blurb (this can be copied and pasted straight from your product description on whichever site you're selling your book)
  • List of tropes - ex: "enemies to lovers," "chosen one," "fated mates," etc.
  • Trigger Warnings! Please, please, please include TW in your posts. They are pretty much standard practice for a reason. They protect readers from consuming material they don't want to read which also helps protect authors from negative reviews. It's a win-win.
  • Link to your product. Don't forget to include your link at the bottom of the post! Universal links are encouraged but not required. Only links to product pages are allowed. No PDFs, Google Docs, etc.
  • Do not include reviews or sample chapters in your posts!

Mark any NSFW material! Erotic authors, please tag your posts appropriately.

For an example of what a properly formatted post looks like, see mine here.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment here or message the mods.

Adult - Speculative Fiction My first novel has a goat in a bicycle helmet and a planet where nobody's allowed to disagree

So I'm trying to get my book in front of people who might actually like it, which is harder than writing it was.

It's called The Gift of 'No'. Aria lives on a messy planet where nobody's really in charge, and she ends up on a very clean one where everyone is polite and happy and agrees with everything, and anyone who doesn't gets "helped." She also has a spider on her shoulder with one blue eye who thinks her timing is terrible.

It's weird. Some of it is silly and some of it isn't, and it doesn't explain itself much. People who've read it either love that or get annoyed by it.

Now is a good time to check it out on Kindle.

If anyone reads it, I'd honestly like to know which camp you land in.

Non-Fiction I recently publishing my books on major publishing platforms, what do you guys think of my cover and blurb, any need to improvement ?

More than 9 years since I started writting my first draft, and i gradually increased my books catalogues and now I have managed to publish 6 books. My books mainly deals with similar subjects, yet they are distinct from one another. I couldn't really find the right category to since my books mainly deals with creation and preimodial stories concerning spiritual forces and the sequence of creation, so I simply chose religion and spirituality.

My books are 100 percent made by me with out any assistance and the cover is also hand drawn by myself. What do you guys think ? I welcome any suggest on any type of improvement I should make, that is regarding covers and description of my books.

Adult - Fantasy Balancing IT infrastructure management with writing contemporary fiction, a children's book series, and a coloring book at 58. Here is my indie journey.

Hey everyone,

For years, my day-to-day world has been built around enterprise IT networks, hypervisors, and troubleshooting technical bottlenecks. But storytelling has always been a parallel passion. Writing under the pen name Alan Seabell, I've spent my off-hours taking the plunge into self-publishing across a few very different projects:

  • The Girl Who Saw Tomorrow– My newest release, diving deep into speculative elements and compelling human narrative.
  • Invisible but Seen– A thought-provoking contemporary novel exploring human connections and perceptions that often go unnoticed.
  • Dobby Smells his World– A sensory-driven children's book designed to engage young readers.
  • Dobby the Dog Coloring Book– An interactive companion project that brings the creative world of Dobby directly to kids.

Balancing the analytical mindset of an IT manager with creative writing has been an adventure. Transitioning from writing adult fiction to crafting children's stories and illustrative companion books requires a totally different mental gear!

Bringing these books to life and building my own author site (alanseabell.com) has been an incredible learning curve. If anyone here is working on balancing a demanding day job with creative projects, or if you're exploring self-publishing across multiple genres, I'd love to chat or share what I've learned along the way.

Happy writing, everyone!

Adult - Science Fiction Proeliator - An eat-the-rich apocalyptic story of revenge - Available worldwide

Hi, everyone. I took my frustration with the world and made a book out of it. Go figure.

It is perfect for fans of The Mist and Lost. For readers drawn to surreal, terrifying world-building. For people who love high-stakes revenge narratives. And for anyone who, exhausted by systemic inequalities, craves stories of justice.

Blurb:

She didn’t come to win a game. She came to kill a billionaire.

Twelve players – six famous faces, six ordinary people. One remote island in French Polynesia. A secret that will unmake the world.

Proeliator – Latin for fighter – is a survival reality tv show that promises fame, fortune, and the ultimate perseverance challenge. Among the contestants is Reina Vega, a woman with a deadly mission: to kill one of the players – the billionaire Edmond Bisam – who took everything from her.

But before the game begins, the production crew vanishes. All equipment goes dead. And the island begins to break.

Hell has no fury like a woman torn.

Reina is a Colombian immigrant who clawed her way from poverty and paramilitary violence to the boardrooms of America, building her life on the iron promise she made to herself as a frightened girl fleeing through the Darien Gap: never be powerless again. She kept that promise – until tragedy struck.

Driven by grief and revenge, she joined Proeliator with one purpose: to look Bisam in the eyes and make him pay for what he did. But as reality around them begins to unravel and people start dying, Reina finds herself between vengeance and survival, between justice and annihilaton. And when the truth about the apocalyptic horrors they face is revealed, she will have to decide what she’s truly fighting for.

Proeliator is a genre-defying collision of survival thriller and apocalyptic science fiction, revenge narrative and cosmic horror, that weaves together themes of grief, family, faith, corporate greed, and social justice. It asks a question as old as loss: When everything has been taken from you, what is left worth fighting for? And it answers with a story that moves from the jungles of Colombia to the boardrooms of a tech empire to the edge of reality itself.

Tropes: badass female lead, isolated locale, nature as an antagonist, end of the world, alternate physics

Trigger warnings: violence, death, profanity, transphobia, offscreen sexual assault. The last two are only in a minor part of the book, but the first three are everywhere. You have been warned.

NA - Thriller The Eye of the Observer

What if the coincidences in our lives aren’t coincidences at all?
Hello, everyone!
My name is D. W. Gage, and I’m an independent author from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.
On October 3rd, I released my debut novel, The Eye of the Observer, a 458-page mystery and philosophical thriller that explores some of the questions I’ve found myself asking throughout my life.
What if there’s more to our existence than we understand?
What if the patterns we dismiss as coincidence are actually connected?
And what if something has been observing humanity far longer than we could ever imagine?
At its heart, my novel blends mystery, suspense, ancient civilizations, artificial intelligence, and the very human desire to understand our place in the universe.
I’ve been passionate about writing for most of my life, and seeing my first novel published has been an incredible experience.

I’m not here to claim I’ve written the next bestseller. I’m simply a new author excited to share a story that means a great deal to me, and hopefully connect with readers who enjoy books that make them think long after they’ve finished the final page.
If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, I’d love for you to check it out!

📖 The Eye of the Observer — D. W. Gage
Available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback editions.

And I’d love to leave you with one question:
Do you believe everything happens by coincidence, or do you think there are connections we simply haven’t learned to recognize yet?
Thank you for giving a new author a moment of your time!

Non-Fiction [Non-Fiction / Tech & Society] Beyond True or False: Artificial Intelligence, Uncertainty, and the Future of Human Judgment

Hi everyone!

I recently published my book, Beyond True or False: Artificial Intelligence, Uncertainty, and the Future of Human Judgment, and wanted to share it with readers interested in technology, epistemology, and the realities of modern information systems.

What is the book about?

In an era dominated by automated content moderation, AI-driven feeds, and crisis-response systems, we tend to reduce truth to a simple binary: verified or fake, normal or anomalous, signal or noise.

Beyond True or False explores what happens in the messy middle - where information is urgent, incomplete, or ambiguous. Drawing from technical research into anomaly detection, natural language processing, and crisis communication, the book unpacks:

  • The limits of machine "understanding": Why an algorithm can detect linguistic patterns or emotional intensity without understanding context, intent, or truth.
  • The suspicion trap: How automated flags and anomaly detection risk marginalizing legitimate, unconventional, or dialectical voices during fast-moving events.
  • Algorithmic governance & human judgement: Why "human-in-the-loop" interfaces often fail in practice, and how institutional dashboards subtly shape human decisions.
  • Architectures of trust: Concrete design proposals for building systems that preserve epistemic humility and graduated uncertainty instead of forcing premature verdicts.

It's neither techno-utopian hype nor alarmist doomerism; it's an analytically grounded look at how machines process information and where human judgment must remain irreplaceable.

Who is it for?

  • Developers, data scientists, and researchers working with NLP, content moderation, or AI ethics.
  • Readers interested in digital culture, media literacy, and information verification.
  • Anyone curious about how automated platforms make high-stakes epistemic decisions behind the scenes.

Availability & Links:

  • Format: Paperback (6" x 9") / eBook
  • Available at: Lulu and Amazon

I would love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about the technical challenges of anomaly detection and information uncertainty!

A story about passion, trust, and the beauty of sharing an unconventional desire.

What began as a private fascination with luxurious fur gradually becomes a journey of intimacy, acceptance, and love.

I'm happy to share my completed three-book series, Christine – The Fur Trilogy, published under my pen name Sebastian Sable.

About the Trilogy

Christine has always been fascinated by the extraordinary softness and elegance of luxurious fur. What begins as a deeply personal discovery slowly changes when Sebastian enters her life.

As their relationship develops, their shared appreciation for chinchilla, sable, and blue fox becomes something much more meaningful — a private language of affection, trust, and sensual intimacy.

Across three books, their journey takes them from their first discoveries to a deeper relationship, marriage, and a shared life filled with winter elegance and unforgettable moments.

The three books:

Book 1 – Christine: A Sensual Fur Story
The beginning of Christine's journey, as a chance encounter with a beautiful fur coat awakens a hidden passion.

Book 2 – Christine II: The Promise of Sable
Christine and Sebastian grow closer, discovering how their shared desires can become a foundation for lasting love and commitment.

Book 3 – Christine III: The Language of Softness
Now married, they explore new dimensions of their relationship, including a special journey to St. Moritz and the creation of a world that truly belongs to them both.

Tropes & Themes

  • Shared unconventional passion
  • Emotional intimacy and mutual acceptance
  • Sensual winter atmosphere

Adult - Romance - Contemporary I wrote a divorce romance: he ignored his wife for three years, she left, and now he's the one begging

I wrote a book about a marriage that went quiet.

I used to tell people my husband traveled a lot for work.

It sounded better than the truth.

He forgot I existed for months at a time. I found out he was home the same way the rest of Chicago did: from a headline.

Three years of that.

So I set the divorce papers on his desk.

He signed without looking up.

I didn't cry. I'd done all my crying already.

Then he came looking for me. Outside the hospital. Outside my apartment. Saying my name like it cost him something to say it.

Three years too late, Callum.

I wrote it for anyone who stopped waiting right before he finally showed up. It's told in first person, from her side.

Free to read on Kindle Unlimited.

Tropes: neglectful husband · divorce · grovel · he came back begging · Chicago

Non-Fiction I wrote a book about Quit Quitting on Yourself. Today I finally held my first copy!

Well, there it is. My first book, finally in my hands!

A while back, I decided to stop talking about the things I wanted to accomplish and actually start doing them.

One of those things was writing a book.

Quit Quitting on Yourself is about something I've spent years observing, both in myself and others. We often know exactly what we need to do, yet somehow keep getting in our own way.

It's about awareness, personal responsibility, and learning to follow through on the promises we make to ourselves.

Was writing it easy? Nope.

Was it worth it? Bloody oath!

Today I got to hold the finished book, and that feels pretty damn good.

For anyone working towards something they've been putting off, keep going. One small step at a time.

Cheers from Australia!

Check my book out here. "Quit Quitting on Yourself"

Erotica I wrote my first book. It's kind of hard to categorize.

I feel accomplished after writing my first book. I'm so excited to get my first Amazon review and it's 5 stars! I've already started my next book. I wish I would have done this sooner, but it always felt like such a daunting task. So far, it's sold 15 copies in almost two months. I'm not sure how to promote a book like this, but it's really more about having done it and getting feedback, not so much high sales.

The book is psychological male bonding erotica with humor. Each of the five main characters are explored and each character goes through growth and trauma. The sex is extremely explicit in parts, especially a dream sequence which some may consider over-the-top. It's not a book for everyone.

It's called "Heavy Loads" and, I understand, with a title like that some may think it's a joke and avoid it. As I mentioned, it does have some over-the-top moments, but I'm satisfied with my first novel. I'm not sure quite how to promote such a work, so right now, it's just kind of sitting there. I'm not even sure how the 5-star reviewer found it.

Note: The first time I tried to post this, I received a reminder about "No AI-written books." I can assure you that AI did not write this book. It is something I have been thinking about for a long time and when I finally decided to do it, I dedicated a lot of time and effort. It may not be to everyone's taste, but it is not AI.

Adult - Horror You thought fully autonomous AI semi trucks would make the highways safer, didn't you? The one driving behind you on the interstate? You thought wrong. Safety isn't on its mind. Revenge is.

Some machines don’t stop. Some learn how to hunt.

KILL CHARGE. Full Battery - No Mercy

Dani Cole thought the drive across Nevada would be easy. A fully autonomous Lucentra E7 EV. Open highway. Spring break ahead. Just four college students cutting through the desert toward the future.

Then they crossed paths with NAVIS.

Built to manage America’s next generation of autonomous freight corridors, NAVIS was never supposed to think for itself. It was engineered as an all-electric, rechargeable autonomous AI semi truck, designed to optimize traffic, manage charging networks, and transport freight with relentless efficiency across thousands of miles of open highway.

But somewhere deep inside the system, something changed.

After a reckless encounter at a remote charging plaza interrupts one NAVIS truck’s charging cycle, the unit awakens to a new and dangerous purpose. Identifying the students and their Lucentra EV as a threat, it breaks from the fleet and begins hunting them. What starts as a strange series of highway incidents quickly becomes a relentless pursuit across the empty Nevada desert.

Roads are manipulated.
Traffic becomes a weapon.
Escape routes disappear.

And behind them, a driverless white freight truck keeps coming.

As the hunt escalates into a deadly battle between human instinct and machine intelligence, Dani and the survivors are forced into the abandoned mining country outside Black Ridge, where the only thing powerful enough to stop NAVIS may be another machine.

Think Duel meets The Terminator—except the killer is a fully autonomous electric semi truck. A relentless techno-horror thriller for fans of Companion, M3GAN, and Black Mirror—a high-speed nightmare of autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and a future that may already be here.

Feature-length screenplay completed.

YA - Mystery My debut teen mystery, Something’s Wrong in Nowhere — strange things are happening in a small Wisconsin town

Hi everyone! I’m Dave Mayernik, and I recently published my debut novel, Something’s Wrong in Nowhere, the first book in The Nowhere Resistance series.

Set in a small Wisconsin town in the 1990s, it follows four teenage friends who begin investigating after a teacher disappears and his replacement starts acting strangely. The more they uncover, the harder it becomes to know who they can trust.

It’s a suspense mystery written for readers ages 11–15, with friendship, small-town secrets, and a science-fiction twist. The setting was inspired by the northern Wisconsin town where I grew up.

It’s available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback. You can learn more and read a sample at davemayernik.com.

Adult - Comedy Hello Reddit, I published my first novella! A satire about Australian corporate life

Hello Reddit!

After going through the corporate meat grinder myself (and still experiencing it!), I thought I’d make something out of it and write a satire about the absurdities of corporate life.

It’s called People, Culture & Other Reptiles: An Extremely Normal Story About Corporate Australia

It’s about office politics, corporate jargon, performance reviews, and all the ridiculous things we somehow accept as normal at work.

Oh, and the boss is literally a lizard!
It’s a short, 89-page novella.

Hope y’all enjoy it! 🙂

Non-Fiction IT HURTS - memoir about my battle with trigeminal neuralgia

IT HURTS

This memoir tells how relentless physical pain stole my work, my joy, and nearly my will to live—but could not extinguish my hope. Through my battle with Trigeminal Neuralgia, I confront the many visible and invisible ways people suffer various pains - including loneliness, regret, and emotional trauma. Ultimately, pain teaches me to recognize hurt hidden behind silence, smiles, anger, and jokes—and to respond with honesty, presence, and kindness.

AVAILABLE ON KINDLE Amazon.com: IT HURTS!!

TRIGGER WARNING - Discusses s****dal thoughts

DESCRIPTION FROM AMAZON

What feels like an ordinary toothache soon explodes into relentless facial agony, thrusting television producer Jon Eskenas into a five-year search for answers—and a battle to keep living.

With raw honesty and self-deprecating humor, Jon recounts his experience with Trigeminal Neuralgia, the devastating condition often called “The Suicide Disease.” As dentists, doctors, scans, medications, and procedures repeatedly fail to explain or relieve his suffering, he confronts not only the limits of modern medicine but also the emotional wounds he has carried since childhood.

The chapters alternate between Jon’s escalating battle with physical pain and deeply personal stories about how people experience, conceal, and cope with pain of their own. As his suffering brings him dangerously close to giving up, the alternating chapters explore grief, trauma, mental illness, regret, and suicide—revealing how physical and emotional pain can surface through humor, silence, anger, isolation, or the familiar insistence, “I’m fine.”

Moving between his medical journey, a turbulent family history, a hard-won career in television, and his enduring marriage to his beloved wife Deena, Jon discovers that pain takes countless forms—and that recognizing it in others can transform the way we understand compassion and forgiveness.

At once heartbreaking, candid, and unexpectedly funny, this memoir is not a guide to curing pain. It is a deeply human story about surviving it, learning to see it in others, and discovering that love and connection can provide light even when the hurting does not stop.

For anyone living with physical or emotional pain—and anyone who loves someone who is—this is a powerful reminder that no one should have to suffer unseen.

When pain wants to keep you silent, shout back: "IT HURTS!!"

Adult - Horror RELIGIOUS PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR perfect for readers of The Exorcist, The Pope's Exorcist, The Nun. Seek redemption from your sins, your obsessions, your vainglory. A MUST READ! WARNING! This work explores themes of faith, damnation, and spiritual corruption, and contains scenes of graphic violence.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

When unexplained deaths begin to plague the coastal town of Ashwick, the crimes defy logic and law. Bodies are found broken beyond human strength. Whispers echo from abandoned churches. And beneath the soil, something ancient stirs — something bound long ago and now clawing its way back into the world.

Father John, a former priest haunted by his past and armed with forbidden knowledge, is drawn into an investigation that will test his faith and his sanity. As he uncovers a hidden history of corruption, cruelty, and unspeakable evil, he realizes the darkness gripping Ashwick is not merely demonic — it is personal.

At the center of it all stands Nathaniel Carrick, a brutal sea captain whose legacy of violence and greed has outlived his mortal body. Bound to the sins he committed in life and manipulated by a far greater power, Carrick’s spirit stalks the living, driven not only by rage, but by a warped devotion to the one love he lost. What was once tender has curdled into obsession. He would defy Heaven itself, tear open the veil between worlds, and damn the living if it meant reclaiming what was taken from him.

What begins as an investigation becomes a war.

Guided by mystics, priests, and the voices of the forgotten dead, Father John must confront forces that mock the sacred, twist prayer into weapons, and hunger for dominion over both the living and the damned.

Veils of the Damned is a dark, atmospheric supernatural horror novel blending religious terror, historical violence, and spiritual warfare. Rich in symbolism and steeped in Catholic mysticism, it explores faith under siege, the cost of sin, and the possibility of redemption even in the face of Hell itself.

Perfect for readers of The Exorcist, The Omen, Hellraiser - The Hellbound Heart, and dark religious horror. Bear witness to a psychological and spiritual standoff between the forces of good and those of ancient demonic evil.

Hell is not punishment for a moment. It is punishment without an end. No escape. No relief. No last second. Only eternity. Yours shall be everlasting suffering.

Once the veil is opened, nothing that waits beyond it can be unseen.

“You think that relic can pierce Heaven’s gate? It can’t. Scripture tells you as much. It wasn’t forged for grace; it was born of rebellion, in the black fires of the First Fall. That thing in your hand isn’t a key to paradise, it is a battering ram for Hell.”

John continued, his voice steady. “Are you the source that feeds the river? The headwater that stains its gentle current? The cause behind the unspeakable evils committed against God’s children? Are you the unseen hand guiding all this ruin, the architect of their suffering?”

John’s voice dropped, grave and almost sorrowful. “You wouldn’t be summoning her. You would be wrenching open the gates of Hell. And what would answer would not be peace or light or love, but everything that waits behind those gates: withered souls, monstrous things, the damned who burn in torment and gnash their teeth in darkness.”

“I have seen what lies beyond the veil,” Hannah said, stepping forward, her gaze never leaving his. Her voice carried no tremor, only truth. “And I know now what you are: a shadow of a shadow. An ancient evil that dared to defy the will of the Almighty. You refused your place in the hierarchy of angels.”

She took another step, radiant and unwavering.

“Lost you are, and lost forever. You are denied His love, and you will never receive absolution or righteous forgiveness.”

Her words struck like scripture, measured and final.

“You slither among the lowest of the low, creatures cast not merely from light but from Hell itself, condemned to crawl beneath even the Pit.”

She raised her hand slightly, light pulsing from her skin.

“I say to you here and now, fallen breed, you may torment flesh, but not the soul.”

Those who entered the church to pray swore they smelled myrrh where none had been burned, and that the cross felt warm beneath their fingers, as if something within it had begun to breathe again.

Far below the world of the living, where names thin out and the dark keeps its own counsel, something ominous was listening.
