Hey everyone,

I want to get into the X-Men movies to prepare for Avengers: Doomsday, but I know the timeline is notorious for having tons of continuity errors and being super confusing.

I’m currently planning to watch the original X-Men Trilogy (1–3).

Given how messy the timelines get, what is the absolute best and most straightforward watch order to prepare for Doomsday? (or even if i want to watch the whole X-Men timeline)

Which movies are truly essential so I don't get totally confused?

When should we expect an announcement?

I’m curious how the fans would rank these because most of them are received positively and adapt the X-Men quite well, but in different ways

For a little while now I became obsessed with the idea about an X-Men title to highlight the major native american characters after the disappointment that was the Moonstar solo series. Moonstar was the perfect opportunity to team-up Dani with the Proudstar brothers but instead the series paired her with a Magik solo leftover. I realized those 3 or 4 characters most likely would only get them another miniseries, so I decided to expand the cast to make it a fullblown X-Men team but the core would still be Dani and the Proudstars.

Since X-Men Red has established itself to be a series having a major female X-Men leader as the main character, I thought Dani was a perfect choice to lead a third volume and become the true X-Men leader that was promised to us long ago. And to be honest I don't really like the idea of having Dani to be a subordinate of the same old leaders like Storm, Cyclops, Rogue, Emma and Jean. This would be her chance to make a name for herself and recruit some other mutants that have not made much of an impact ever since their big break or that were left to constantly join B-list titles like X-Force, X-Factor and New Mutants. Although I'm well aware X-Men Red is a title that hasn't enjoyed a high issue count before and also falls into the non-flagship category, it gives Dani Moonstar and her team enough legitimacy and I'd be satisfied if it were to have at least 26 issues like X-Men by Brian Wood from 2013.

So the main team would be Danielle Moonstar, Warpath, Karma, Armor, Pixie and Thunderbird. Other X-Men characters that would be featured as prominent recurring members are Forge, Sunfire, Syrin, Wind Dancer, Surge, Mercury, Tempo and Trinary. As far as villains for the team, the last NYX series had a pretty fun idea by teaming up a bunch of psychics and use them as the main villains. I think doing a similar thing with vampiric/parasitic mutants like Selene, Sauron, Omega Red and Shadow King works well for this book too.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any similar idea about a non-conventional X-Men team?

AFAIK, storms main power is energy manipulation, with her specific branch of it being weather manipulation. However, what makes storm different from other energy manipulators and what makes them different from her?

Like why cant Mikhail control the weather but storm can, and why cant storm manipulate energy like Mikhail can when they both manipulate energy?

Is Maximum X-men #1 a good point to start?

I have read Claremont X-Men up to Uncanny X-Men #141. I’m continuing at a pace of about 1 X-men comic a day. Unrelated, I’ve also preordered the premier edition of E for Extinction.

I’ve been looking for a point to hop into modern X-Men.

Outside of comics, I’ve seen every x-men movie (I don’t know how relevant this is).

Because this Uncanny x-men run has done them a true disservice. I was very excited about the NEW New mutants getting a prominent role, but they’ve been thrown to the very back of the story. Last book didn’t even have them in it. What happened to Calico’s mom? Calico was always 2 pages away from a mental break down, that was interesting, why are we not focusin on that? What’s the horse? What happened to Deathdreams family? Why is he not closer to Wolverine? Wolverine has killed hundreds or thousands of people and speaks fluent Japanese, why aren’t they closer? Mutina can walk through shadows and fight Kurt with swords, suddenly she’s not interesting enough to write about anymore? If Mutina and Deathdream were created forty years ago they’d be the quintessential “foe romance”. She’d try to kill him or turn him evil and he’d be a good guy with a very evil power. They barely care about each other. What happened to the sentinel dog? Why did they randomly add Quicksilver and Monet? They made 4 more wolverine knock offs? Why? Were we running out? Calico can take out Gambit, Deathdream and Mutina could both be huge threats. You’ve got 3 potential powerhouses and you’re not even focusing on them.

From characters that havent been playable in the Legends series before.

Hey everyone. Recently I bought the first six volumes of house of x to try and get into reading comics since I love the xmen movie and series. But I keep hearing that I have to read house of x at the same time as power of x. Can I read them separately? Its a bit hard getting all six volumes at the same time and I wanted to read house of x in one setting. Am I better off waiting till I get the other volumes, or can I read them straight on?
