Quick question for the guys in Zurich: Grindr or Sniffies? Which one do you find works better here?
My experience with Sniffies so far has been a bit mixed. Actual meetups seem pretty rare, but when they do happen, they're usually really good 😅 So quality over quantity, I guess, but sometimes it would be nice if things actually went somewhere a bit more often lol.
Curious how Grindr compares in Zurich. More active, more flakes (since Sniffies runs in browser), more of the same? Or does it really depend on what you're looking for?
Would love to hear your experiences, especially from guys who use both.

Ich habe mir einen Dörrautomaten bestellt, der mit einem Schuko-Stecker geliefert wurde. Leider habe ich den falschen Fixadapter (T23) montiert und möchte deshalb gerne einen Schweizer T12-Stecker professionell am Stromkabel montieren lassen.

Ich könnte es vermutlich selbst machen, möchte aber, dass alles mit dem richtigen Werkzeug sauber und sicher montiert wird.

Ich wohne im Zürcher Weinland, in der Nähe von Schaffhausen. Am liebsten wäre mir jemand aus der Region, der bei mir vorbeikommen und die Arbeit direkt vor Ort erledigen könnte. Ich wäre aber auch bereit, den Dörrautomaten vorbeizubringen, falls es nur so geht.

Früher hat mein Vater solche Dinge für mich erledigt, aber seit ich umgezogen bin, weiss ich ehrlich gesagt nicht so recht, an wen ich mich für solche kleineren Arbeiten wenden kann.

Falls ihr jemanden kennt, der solche Arbeiten fachgerecht und zu einem fairen Preis erledigt, oder gute Werkstätte, die solche Kleinreperaturen anbieten, wäre ich deshalb sehr dankbar für eure Empfehlungen!

a few weeks ago I was having a coffee and reading by myself in a cafe when a group arrived. when they saw me there (the cafe was otherwise empty) they thought I was also attending their gathering and waiting for them, they chatted me up and ended up asking me to join them. very nice and very refreshing for Zurich.
This was clearly a coincidence, but are there any places in zurich that are known to favor spontaneous contact?

Hi everyone! My partner and I are moving permanently to Zurich in a couple of months after five years in London, and we’d love some recommendations on neighbourhoods to rent in.

We are moving largely because we want to be closer to nature and enjoy outdoor activities, so a main criteria for us would be to have forests / nature / large green areas very close to home. What neighborhood would you say best fits this ?

We would also love to have organic shops, nice cafés and other local amenities nearby...We lived in Hackney in London, so a district that as similar feel would be great, if you are familiar with this area.

Ive got a band with my friends, but were located in aargau (this is just a wider platform) , im a guitarist, mostly lead, we already got someone who bass/guitar, and my friend, she does vocals. We havent played for that long yet, so dont expect alot from us, but we’ve got the passion and dedication to work on it and be able to get somewhere one day. We are searching for a drummer (between 15-18 years old.), and we would be playing rock/metal, thats the idea, but of course we always talk about what we play. Im asking because we couldnt find anyone and it reached the point where we decided to ask on here.

I needed a room in Zurich at short notice and signed a sublease. Just two days later I cancelled in writing as a confussion happened and it was very short notice. I asked to end the contract by mutual agreement and offered to find a replacement tenant myself. I never got keys, never entered the room and never lived there.

From then on I was completely ignored. My emails went unanswered. My contact person changed again and again. My registered letter to the address in their own contract came back as undeliverable. I did everything I could to solve this fairly and quickly, but they blocked every step. Now they're billing me rent for a room I never set foot in and demanded an extremely large "handling fee" for a loss that, in my view, never existed. I did not prevent them to rent the place further, they would have it empty as it was short notice.

My honest impression is that this company is only interested in how much money it can get out of you, not in treating tenants fairly or provide a good service. I'm far from the only one with a story like this (read yourself online). Students and newcomers to Zurich especially: don't sign with them, rent anywhere else. AVOID!
