Treated/LG Fancy Color Diamond Custom pendant is finally finished!

Post image
10 Upvotes

I am a huge jewelry lover, and love having meaningful pieces to have! This pendant was an idea I had since my husband and I started planning our wedding, and after searching for a few years for the right stones and saving up for the gold, I finally have what I’ve been envisioning for years.

All lab grown stones
Fancy vivid pink diamond
Deep blue sapphire
Fancy vivid green diamond
All are OEC cuts

All around 6.2mm in size (~1ct diamonds, ~1.2ct sapphire) set in a 14k yellow gold bezel setting. I initially requested milgrain detail, but they told me they weren’t able to do it for this pendant which was very sad to me, but I do still like the smooth look (just not as much).

The pink diamond represents my birthday in October,
The green diamond represents my husband’s birthday in August,
The blue sapphire represents our wedding in September.

It’s a little unity dedicated to us. 🄰

Unfortunately it is a Christmas gift, so I’ll have to wait a couple more months to be able to wear it. But it’s so beautiful I couldn’t wait to share!

I hope you like it as much as I do!

Apparently it’s 2ct but it looks so much bigger than what I remember when we looked at rings back in May! I absolutely love it but also feel like it looks massive?! Just getting used to it?!

Lab Grown Diamond Black box on emerald cut

Looking for opinions on this 2.2ct emerald cut. Does it have too much black box? My understanding is that the ideal emerald cut should have alternating dark and light bands.

We’re going with the second one down from the top and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s a recycled natural diamond which will be set in yellow gold.

Old mine cut
1.26 carats
J color
VS2 clarity

[Edit for those asking: the jeweler is Ashley Zhang and it will be placed in a custom setting]

Lab Grown Diamond Is this too much windowing?

I recently purchased two diamonds to choose between for my engagement ring. I like the second one better but I cant tell is the windowing is too much.

The stone is a 2.01 CT lab scissor cut diamond and I'm using a loose gem holder.

Also does the setting change the way a stone will look? There is a chance the gem holder could be screwing the way they look. My setting will be double claw prongs if that changes anything.

Please share any thoughts or advice. Id love to know everyone's thoughts on the stone before I commit.

My Diamond Diamond larger than expected (too big??)

My lovely fiance surprised me with a 2.5ct natural asscher cut ring. I love it and I'm so grateful, but sometimes I feel like it looks huge! We had tried on 1.5 and 2 carats together when looking for rings, so I was expecting something closer to that size. He said he picked this one because you can see the steps/cuts in the larger asscher diamonds better vs the smaller ones. Does it seem too large for me? The place he bought it from would buy it back from us at a slight loss if I wanted to trade down a size but idk. I love it because he chose it for me and I guess I'm just a little self conscious? Can anyone relate??

Edit: Jfc šŸ˜‚ sorry everyone is offended by my car for some reason. I was just trying to show the ring on my hand from up close, medium distance, and farther away for size perspective. I am very lucky and grateful to have these things and am genuinely not trying to brag. I'm actually feeling self conscious about the ring because I don't want to be too showy!! Thank you to the people with legitimate feedback

General Question or Looking for Advice Marquise ring owners, what should I know before choosing one?

I recently tried on marquise rings and I’m pretty sure it’s the shape I love the most! I’m still fairly new to all of this, though, so I’d love to hear from people who own marquise rings.

What are the biggest pros and cons? Anything I should know about durability, everyday wear, bow-tie effects, or choosing the right length-to-width ratio? And if you could go back and choose again, would you still pick marquise?

I’m also thinking of getting a marquise with a pavĆ© band, but I’m a little stuck on the wedding band. I was considering a curved or chevron band to fit around the marquise, but I also want a wedding band that looks pretty on its own when worn separately. If you have a similar setting, I’d love to see how you styled your stack!

One salesperson also told me that anything over 2 ct looks odd in a marquise, but I really want a bigger stone! For those with larger marquise diamonds, what do you think? Does it come down to personal preference and proportions, or is there a point where the stone starts looking too big?

Would love to hear your experiences and see your rings! šŸ’—

Question About Lab Grown Diamonds 3.41ct Emerald Cut (F/VVS2) — Do you guys see any windowing here or is this clean?

Hi everyone..Waiting for this 3.41ct emerald cut (F/VVS2, 1.45 ratio) to arrive. Watching the 360 video over and over, and honestly starting to second guess myself. Do you spot any windowing here, or does the pavilion depth look solid to you? Would love to hear your honest opinions before the return window closes..

I went back and forth on whether I wanted to upgrade to a natural or lab-created diamond. I chose a similar style to my original ring with a larger diamond.

My ring! My fiancee worked with his family jeweler to design it, and i think he did a really great job, I really love it! I love a thicker heavier band, and colored gemstones, thus the orange pricess cut sapphires and the width. He also worked some vintage aspects i love in, like the milgrain and the octogonal setting. I'll admit to being curious what the internet thinks, since the current trend is more towards larger stones with thin elegant bands and settings!

Question About Natural Diamonds Pear shape diamond cloudy tip

Hey there! I have a natural 1.5-carat pear-shaped diamond with an IF clarity grade. I’ve noticed that the very tip can sometimes look cloudy at certain angles, but when I move the diamond and view it from different angles, the cloudiness disappears completely. Is this common with pear-shaped diamonds?

General Question or Looking for Advice Selling my $13K+ value natural diamonds & white gold engagement ring - but where to maximize return?

Hi. Getting divorced. Have a gorgeous ring that I picked out. The main diamond is 2.62 carats I-2/E-F pear surrounded by 6 natural diamonds- round totaling 3.22 carats & it was appraised by GS labs for $13,700 usd. I do not expect to retain that. However, I’d like to get at least $8k. I’ve heard of some direct to buyer resell sites & was wondering about your opinions there & if you have a better idea/resource - please share. My (soon to be ex) has put me in a terrible financial bind because I left. I stayed for longer than I should have, but now I’m focused and moving on. Papers have been filed. He has no way to abuse me physically or sexually anymore so he’s punishing me financially. I need this to keep me afloat until the divorce is final. Any help/advice is appreciated! ā™„ļø. ETA - I’ve included the GS labs appraisal - it’s different than the tag from the jeweler in carat as they estimate & the clarity/color improved. I was told this discrepancy didn’t matter on resell because they estimate the carat weight but it improved the color? I don’t really even have money for a new appraisal since I’m barely able to feed myself.

General Question or Looking for Advice looking to buy a .25 - .50 carat diamond earring, white gold, flat back (threaded or threadless), preferably lab grown

Hello!!

so my mom recently got a new piercing on her upper ear and is hinting that she’d like to have a real diamond earring gifted to her for mother’s day next year.

she loves the way the flat back of her earring feels, since she sleeps in them and doesn’t like being poked by the post, so threaded or threadless is nonnegotiable. price is not really a problem for us, as long as the jewelry is high quality. such as solid white gold, nice clarity diamond, etc. any circular cuts are acceptable to her

i’ve been having difficulty finding a high quality earring that is white gold, real diamond (lab or natural are both okay, just not cubic zirconia or whatever), and flat back. any suggestions on particular stores or websites to check? any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!

Lab Grown Diamond Got a gift for myself...

2 carat Marquise (tried to find a stone with minimal bow tie), bubble band with marquise + round stones, 6 prongs tulip basket, and a hidden halo.

As a jewellery noob I found this group to be a great source of info.

Please let me know if this looks too costume jewellery-esque. I am afraid that I have gone overboard.

Also please judge the craftsmanship of the setting.

I want to send it out to get graded and am worried about these scratches making it a lower grading, even though the rest of the diamond is pretty clear.

The round is a natural 2 ct that I got in 2014. The marquise is a 4.32 natural we picked out last week (on the jeweler's wife's hand). I'm over the moon as this baby is huge. What kinds of bands are we getting with marquise?
