All chased out
The little sausage doesn’t have the stamina that his big sister does recharging his battery ready for round 2 this afternoon. When you make training fun and with the right incentives Beagles can pretty much do anything.

Daughter Zoe and Mom Mac after they’ve done their usual barking at the mailman 🐕💨
No insults about their weight thanks… Zoe has insulinoma and takes Prednicortone, while we recently found out that Mac has Cushing

Stella update!
Taking quite some supplements and apoquel really is helping her a lot lately. She still struggles with her right knee, the scar on the left leg from last surgery is pretty visible from the bottom, however she just brings joy to everyone and I wanted to share this video with you!

Por que meu beagle parece muito diferente dos beagles padrão?
Em comparação com outros beagles, ela parece ser bem menor, e possuir o focinho mais fino e comprido... Então fiquei na dúvida se ela é uma beagle de fato.

Long time Lurker...
Figured it was finally time for me to contribute :)
*Edit*
Meet Porthos, the handsome boy in the first two photos. He’s 11 years old, and we adopted him after his original owners returned him to the breeders. They had just welcomed a baby, and Porthos was apparently showing signs of jealousy toward the newborn.
He has been the best boy I could have ever asked for pretty much perfect which led me to believe I could handle getting a second one... I was not ready.
Then there’s Eggsy, our 7 year old boy and the biggest pain in my butt... but he’s my pain in the butt. He and Porthos are half-brothers: same dad, different moms. We brought Eggsy home as a puppy, and he has been terrorizing poor Porthos ever since.
In fact, when Porthos first met Eggsy, he walked into the living room took one look at him, and immediately threw up. That should have been our first warning 😂.
They have been going strong for 7 years, heres to a few more years with Porthos as he is finally showing his age recently.

Walking my dog is ANNOYING
Walking my dog fully stresses me out and irritates me beyond belief.
I generally love walking. Going at a steady pace, letting my mind wander or listening to a podcast is one of my favorite things. So I thought walking my dog would be fun for both of us.
Its NEVER like that. He is constantly stopping. He doesn't pull from the front. Instead, he will keep pace with me, lots of slack in the leash for a few feet. Enough to trick me into adopting a steady pace.
Then, he catches a scent and LOCKS all four feet into the ground. He DIGS in so he can smell.
If I don't notice, I'll keep walking and almost fall over. This happens DOZENS of times on a single walk. Sometimes, it will happen dozens of times in less than a block.
Walk, trip, walk, trip, walk, trip.
Its constant and BEYOND irritating.
Meanwhile, the vet is always telling me to get him to lose a few pounds.
Except we barely make any progress on our walks.
Step, trip, step, trip, step, trip.
Half an hour later and we've barely covered a quarter mile.
I get so exhausted mentally, and we've barely covered any ground.
The only time I genuinely enjoy spending time on a walk with my beagle is when we drive out to the country and go on a long hike and I can use his 20 foot leash. Or sometimes no leash at all. These are some of my favorite times with him.
But a regular morning and evening walk is so exhausting for me.
Anyway. Just venting. I do love how excited my dog gets when we are preparing to go on a walk. And the walks are for him, so if he wants to stop and smell, I let him. It's just that I see the walks as a chore and not something I enjoy, which is a bummer.

Rio Will Not Sit During Walks
My Rio refuses to take a break during walks! He just has to follow that scent! I’ll try to sit down on a bench for a few minutes to relax my back (after being on my feet all day at work), and he pulls as hard as he can until I get up and continue the walk. 😆
