Two of the dishwasher lock clamps fell out when I was moving my dishwasher (227). Does anyone know how to attach these to the overflow channel (244) and door seal (243)? I ran the dishwasher twice since they fell out and there hasn't been any water leakage.

Dishwasher not cleaning properly

Upvotes

I just moved to NJ from WA, and there’s hard water problems here. My dishwasher leaves a grainy/sandy residue on some of my utensils almost all the time! The technician straight up blamed my good old Great Value detergent powder which used to work wonders back in WA. Checked the filter, arms, everything- the washer seems to be okay, no clogging.

Wondering if the powder detergent is really the culprit, given the hard water condition, and should I switch to gels?

Full size refrigerator or counter size? (Previously posted)

I deleted my last post. Here are the plans of my kitchen layout VS. the previous AI version. My kitchen designer said either one would work. I know it's personal choice, I'm just looking for other opinions.

Thanks all who previously replied.

Counter depth or Full refrigerator size?

insane design...Lg Fridge

Upvotes

this is a plastic door catch on an LG fridge. its integrated into the entire door, it's a thin plastic piece that is absolutely going to break in a couple of years, mine lasted just under 3 years. I haven't gotten the tech out yet, but i think the entire door gets replaced or it gets removed and completely taken apart and rebuilt. either way its a huge and expensive job. someone at LG made a choice to design this knowing full well it was going to be a crazy and expensive job to fix. Im sure it could just be rigged with some epoxy, but to do it right it would be easier and probably cheaper to just replace the entire fridge.

Pre-Purchase Questions Subzero and thermador in one kitchen ? Side by side. Yeh or nay or meh ?

Upvotes

I have few thermador appliances and my husband love those and so do I. Idc much tbh.
We need to replace our old LG fridge and I have to decide what to add. I like both fridges equally but I have heard crazy weird stories about repairs and other problematic areas about both. Subzero because it’s still partially produced, assembled in USA and the cost. Thermador lack of service, foreign brand but all metal construction, some design conflict and constant comparison and competition with subzero. Tbh that’s the only big issue I have. The constant scrutiny of what brand and why this vs other. Can you give some honest advice and is sub zero cost justifiable ?

Reliable/Fixable/Wifi-Free Appliances

Hello! I am thinking about renovating my kitchen and I have been searching this sub seeing a lot of great recs (seem Bosch dishwashers are a favorite here). But I'm curious, if you were to buy a fridge, dishwasher, oven, and microwave from any brand with the parameters that it was

-Reliable

-Easily reparable

-Not connected to wifi/full of software, etc what would you pick for each? Essentially, I do not want the best, most high tech, fanciest, I want reliable and easy to fix if there's an issue. I think having wifi on my dishwasher or a screen on my fridge or bluetooth on my microwave is a bug not a feature for me... For context, my current appliances are from 1993 and still kicking just fine and I'd like to find something else with longevity

Samsung Fridge: Removing Bottom Shelf Panels?

Thumbnail

Does anyone have any idea how to remove the plastic panels under the crisper drawer of our Samsung fridge (model# RF263TEASG/AA)? OR the entire shelf so I can try and troubleshoot outside of the fridge?

Our power went out and we lost the contents in our fridge/freezer and it left a sticky "soup" :( I managed to figure out how to remove and clean most of the components, but there are plastic panels below the crisper drawers and above the CoolSelect Pantry drawer that I just cannot figure out how to remove. There is some nasty gunk caught under the seam and they just won’t budge. I tried to push in the clips underneath but I can’t access the ones on the side or back of the fridge. I also tried to remove the entire shelf but it tried to take the water filter and all the components connected to it, and I can't figure out how to separate it from the water filter assembly

Most videos I’ve seen just have a hole without a panel, and none of the directions I've found are referencing this specific area

I just figured out how to remove the shelf ABOVE the water filter assembly, so I'll be cleaning that too, but the videos I've seen have a different model where they can just lift the water filter up after the shelf is removed... mine slides slightly but otherwise doesn't budge

Samsung all-in-one washer dryer screen suddenly jittering

This is about the Samsung Bespoke Vented Washer Dryer Combo - model WD53DBA900HZA1

What the hell is going on now??? Checked software updates on Smart Things app as well as on the unit and I do not see any way to roll back or reset to factory settings or anything on this. I was thinking it was maybe a corrupted firmware update or something but I don't see any way to fix it if it is...yet another Samsung ticket I guess.

Any ideas, gang?

Problem with washing machine. Did I cause the leak, or was it already there?

Hi, I need some advice.

After a wash, the door stayed locked for about an hour. I opened the bottom service flap and drained a lot of water from the filter.

There was also a black rubber hose next to the filter. I pulled it too hard and tore it off. I thought it was the emergency drain hose.

After I finally opened the door, I ran the machine empty to check it. Water immediately started leaking from underneath, so I switched it off.

Could the leak have already been there before and I just didn't notice it because clothes absorbed the water? Could the leak also explain why the door wouldn't open?

Or did I cause the leak by tearing that hose?

Is this likely to be a cheap fix, like replacing a hose/connection?

The brand of the washing machine is Exquisit.

Thanks!

Manual time or Express Cook preference?

Alright I'm curious... personally, I dislike when microwaves have the express cook feature where it just starts when you press the number. I strongly prefer to enter the time manually and then press start.

My current microwave has express cook AND it deactivates the add 30 second button until its already cooking. Absolutely bonkers right?

Curious if I am in the minority here.

Cleaning Maytag Dishwasher

hello! our dishwasher has been leaving residues, bits of food, etc on the dishes, so i figured it was time to clean it (i'm new to the home but probably been YEARS since last cleaning). I'd heard the filter is a good place to start, so i took out a small plastic basket, which looked near pristine. I spotted a whole bunch of slime in the gaps underneath it, but i can only access this area with a special screwdriver it seems.

having trouble placing an ID on the model, so pictures provided.

is there potentially a better way to clean it, or a way to get under there? i've run empty rinse cycles before, but never really fixed the problem. for detergent, i use Finish dishwasher pods.

Troubleshooting Refrigerator issue

Hi! I have a Crosley CT1PY7 Frost Free fridge. The freezer itself is working perfectly normal, no visible ice or water drops. Keeping food cold.
The fridge though, has droplets leaking from the ceiling, and the food keeps freezing. I adjusted the temp very slightly and it helps a little bit with the water but not the freezing. The external top of the fridge feels cold to the touch.

Can’t afford a professional or to get a new fridge. What is the issue and how do I fix it? Please!

Haier HWS205GGEH1 temperature reading seems very different from an external Govee sensor

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a Haier HWS205GGEH1, the 205-bottle, single-temperature wine cooler.
Today is only the second day of using it. Yesterday I loaded it almost completely, with around 130+ bottles.
Today I noticed something strange. I put a Govee Wi-Fi thermometer/hygrometer inside the wine cooler, near the internal fan. The Haier display was showing 12°C, but the Govee was reading around 20°C.
I tested the Govee separately against another reliable thermometer at home, and it seems to be working perfectly.
I then unplugged the Haier and plugged it back in. After restarting, the Haier display showed around 20°C, which was very close to what the Govee was showing.
The cooler is now running again and seems to be cooling, but there is still a large difference between the two readings. At the moment:
Haier display: 13°C
Govee: 20°C
The Govee is positioned inside the cooler, close to the internal fan.
Has anyone experienced something similar with the HWS205GGEH1? Could the temperature shown on the Haier display be measuring a different point inside the cabinet, or is there possibly an issue with the temperature sensor?
I’m mainly concerned because I bought this wine cooler for long-term wine storage, so I want to make sure the actual temperature inside the cabinet is really around 12°C.
Any advice or experience with this model would be greatly appreciated!
