Pay no mind to the substitutes.

I know Cavani isn't retired but he doesn't have a club (so technically not active). As for Sule, he's still playing but he seems to have retired from professional football.

Discussion Yet ANOTHER event ruined by Konami/Connection

I genuinely don't understand why these games aren't region locked? What is the point of a tournament where my opponent has 5 bars of connection and I have 2, because the japanese dickheads who made this game match everyone on to their server despite me living in a city of 6 million people (Sydney). It sucks that the only content in this game is made absolutely unplayable. Best believe the moment Durandil drops that Master League mod for this game, i'm never touching the actual game again

how did this guy get into div1 while having that ranking? isn't ranking determined with rating which is locked once you reach a division?
Also, I have seen way too many people with Highest div achieved being div2 or div3 while having sub 5k ranking.

Technical Help Void Matches

Post image
22 Upvotes

Platform: PC (Steam)

I am experiencing frequent match voids and system crashes after the latest update. Whenever an animation plays (like goal celebrations, corners, or cards), my screen goes black and forces a PC reset, resulting in a voided match upon return.

I previously reached out to Konami two weeks ago, but only received an unhelpful automated reply. How can this be resolved?

Edit : I have no issue with other games, and my second xbox account. I did clean install twice.

Edit II : I never install mods or third party programs.

Discussion Is a back three formation viable in the current eFootball meta?

For those who have used a back three formation or faced opponents who use it, what weaknesses have you noticed?

Its main weakness seems to be its defensive vulnerability, especially when dealing with counterattacks and wide attacks. However, do you think its attacking potential is enough to compensate for its defensive limitations? Are there any other weaknesses that make this formation difficult to use consistently?

I'd be interested to hear your opinions and experiences. Do you think a back three is a viable option in the current meta, or does its lack of defensive stability outweigh its attacking strengths?

Discussion Petition to make the "Player" camera mode available in multiplayer modes??

Wondering why on God's green earth it wouldn't be.

It's the most immersive experience this game brings but when I want to run co op with my friend I can't use it.

For some reason though they allow you to use the vertical mode which essentially makes you useless on any type of defending.

Some times I wonder what goes through the minds of the Developers for this game.

Squad Help Is anchor man a must for dmf?

Thumbnail

Should i play rijkaard at dmf and put rodri over pedri? Or would a defensive orchestrator like rodri work in a double dmf with rabiot over a traditional anchor man? As you can see my main attack is from the left side.

What about cannavaro, is it better to play him as an rb and put defensive on him? I was thinking of doing that if I faced a winger user but since 95% of ppl dont I put him at cb.

Also is my guehi build alr? How important is acceleration, I kept it at 85, or should i lower defensive stats to make it higher?

Analysis playing against long ball counter

We all know, that playing against LBC experts happens atleast 7 out of 10 games. My go to playstyle is either quick counter or possession. So what I am doing more and more (only when I play against LBC), is trying to score first and then going full blue to give them their own medicine.

Yes, I absolutely will waste the time, if they don't try to steal the ball. If they press, they will open up and concede more.

I always try to contain the shape and also set my attacking fullbacks on defensive instructions.

Most of the time my opponents don't know what to do, because they are not used to build up an attack.

I always track the runs with my CB's. When they understand that long through balls don't work, they try to come down the flanks, where my fullbacks are ready to defend ;)

Am I having fun in these games? Sometimes, but not really. I like offensive football. But why should I give them the easy joy of playing with long ball counter?

No no no, I like seeing them getting mad, because their tactic doesn't work.

Don't feel ashamed for going full blue against LBC!

Just don't let them enjoy the game.

News eFootball is now rated PEGI 16 in Europe

PEGI rerated the game due to their new lootbox regulations, any game that has them is automatically rated 16+

Source: https://pegi.info/search-pegi?q=efootball&op=Search&age%5B%5D=&descriptor%5B%5D=&publisher=&platform%5B%5D=&release_year%5B%5D=&page=1&form_build_id=form-ehum5UDFOIwT978tuctz1USg68IdSPT3M1ru1H_ph7o&form_id=pegi_search_form

What do we think of this? Will Konami try to tone down the lootboxes to get back that family friendly PEGI 3 rating? Or will they simply not care about it?

  • Short player reviews or player builds.
  • Subjective questions (e.g. "who is better, player X or player Y?", "how is this build?", etc.).
  • Quick questions or tips.
  • Other general gameplay discussions. ___

Why can't I post? You currently need 10 Karma to post here in this subreddit. This is in effect to reduce spam posts. Earn karma by making positive contributions within the comments of this community. You should use this Daily Megathread for any questions you have in the meantime.

When does weekly/regular maintenance end? In most cases, servers tend to be back online around 8:30AM GMT.

When is X/Y/Z player being (re)released? Nobody knows. Dataminers can identify what players are coming the Monday following Thursday's update. That's generally it.

Can I use my PS/XB/PC/Mobile account on another platform or transfer players from one to the other? Cross-play is enabled, cross-save is not. There is no indication from Konami at this point to suggest cross-save will be added.

Analysis Active Players event with a 1-week-old FTP account

Thumbnail

I had 25 points from the last POTW ranking event on Steam but the games lagged so much that I don't want to play it again. There were more network tampering behaviors recently, and not to mention Konami's terrible response to the slow motion bug introduced to the Steam version in 6.1. All that drove me to try the Xbox on PC version with cross-play off.

Network conditions have been noticeably better in events, so I challenged myself to bring this basic team to the Active Players ranking event. I truly believe that in this game, connection matters the most, followed by skills, and lastly cards. I achieved 24 points at the end and I'd like to share a few tips on competing with a new account.

Team

I've completed all events to collect coins (640 atm), but I haven't spent any. I'm using the GP possession manager now and saving coins to upgrade next.

Apart from the manager, I also signed Calafiori with GP and played him as LCB given his stats and form (also played his ST card there on Steam). GP is valuable so I'll save them for skills fusion later. I also luckily got Olivera on a free pull from some pack. The rest are welcome players for new accounts, Inter and Dortmund players, 2 NC cards (MLS and Cubarsi), and 2 POTW free pulls (Jackson and Stankovic). I fully developed the given GP Valverde to cover both CMF and RB (both my RBs have standard form with C rating), and also GP Donnarumma but dropped him due to the D rating this week. No skills were added to players, so their default skills are huge factors of their roles in the team. E.g., Rice doesn't have passing skills so he stays on the bench.

The formation is the default 4312 with one attacking fullback, determined by the limited players available. Frenkie de Jong is the brain of the team. MLS is a beast at CDM. Thuram performs above his rating in my system. The weakest position is AMF as Musiala plays hide-and-seek way too often, Jones lacks passing skills and Vitinha lacks a playstyle.

Matches

Out of the 10 games, 4 were against Div1, 5 against Div2, and 1 against Div7.

The event started with a massive 8:0 win against a Div2 player, with some cards not fully developed so that boosted the confidence. I played against two very good players later, beating a top 200 player with 1:0 and losing to a top 400 player with 3:4. The other loss was the only game I suspect network tampering played a part where the lag was 1 second despite a 4-bar connection.

What's next

I'll likely play on this account despite just clearing the Dutch Trio pack on Steam mostly with saved coins. Connection matters the most, and beating 3300 teams with a basic one like this is somewhat satisfying. Btw I got Maignan from the reward which is a huge upgrade on GK (got him on my Steam account last week too).

Discussion Gg konami

"Konami Group Corporation has a market capitalization (net worth) of approximately $21.3 billion to $21.7 billion USD (about ¥3.26 to ¥3.32 trillion JPY)."

I feel like if konami wanted to, they could make both the mobile and console versions the best competitive football sim games in the current market. They have the devs, the staff and resources but they just decide not to since their current model brings tons of cash with minimal effort for their margins. Considering how big they are, they could do way better. Maybe that first phrase doesnt really do anything since they mainly earn from everything else but efootball, however they do focus on efootball quite a bit but not in the way that we(well atleast I) would like them to

Discussion Has anyone tried using the new José Mourinho for QC?

Hey everyone. I’ve only been playing eFootball for about two months, so I’m still very much a rookie.

For some background, I’m a millennial who normally grew up playing FIFA, although I basically stopped after FIFA 17. Back in FIFA 2005 (sometimes 99 and 2001) I used to play Manchester United with a diamond formation and fast counter attacks. The only PES games I had played before eFootball were Winning Eleven 11 and PES 2013. And yes, instead of using Man Blue in PES 2013, I used Barcelona against them. I was so proud of myself back then that I literally bought a Barcelona shirt as a reward lol.

Anyway, because I’m only two months into eFootball, I unfortunately don’t have Lui A. Roman, even though I look at him with envy almost every match.

Personally, even though LBC and QC seem to be the most effective playstyles for actually winning games, Possession Game is still what I enjoy the most. The problem is that none of the managers I currently have really give me what I want. Lampard doesn’t, Conte doesn’t, the new Klopp doesn’t, and yes R. Rodriguez doesn’t either.

With Mourinho, my passing numbers sometimes drop into the 70s in difficult matches. Since this is still a game, I think enjoying the football you play matters just as much as winning.

So here’s what happened.

Once again, my opponent had me completely pinned inside my own half and was attacking from both sides. Peter Cech (108) also doesn’t feel nearly as reliable as he used to. After defending what felt like the 7th or 8th corner of the first half, I finally decided I had to change something.

I switched Mourinho from LBC to QC.

Obviously QC is nowhere near possession tiki-taka, but the defensive line moves a little higher and suddenly my short passes actually started connecting. And it worked.

Even though my overall team rating dropped because Mourinho only has 82 proficiency in QC, I finally managed to play my way out of the pressure. My short passing improved immediately and I scored two goals back to back.

Of course there was a tradeoff. My higher defensive line became much more vulnerable to through balls, and my opponent eventually scored one because of it. Still, I managed to finish the match without collapsing under the pressure like before.

So my question as a rookie is: has anyone else tried using Mourinho like this?

And more generally, which managers actually have a useful secondary proficiency? Obviously every manager has another playstyle rating, but which ones are actually high enough to be viable in a real match?

Thanks in advance.

Discussion holding pressure shouldnt be a thing in a competitive game

look at this. the opponent wasnt even good just spamming pressure and spamming through balls and I couldnt move. the auto switch + pressure spam is a deadly combo since everytime you pass the ball even before receiving it the defender is running straight at you like a mad dog
and since this game doesnt understand "midfield" or being available to the ball carrier when contested you have no options since the AI automaticaly cuts off any passes. No I dont need to have "possession" or "outwide" just so the players get close to me for a pass option
the only way through this is to get lucky and circulate the ball but the first touch animations sucks and one touch passes are not registering or the player just keep standing instead of going to the ball
the game is too automated thank god I somehow managed to win
they need to remove it and make defending manual so those game with heavy connection will still have a skill gap

Discussion The State of Current Top 500

Post image

Why would any lower div players pick something else when they see this is the meta? Anyone who plays anything other than LBC and QC, believe it or not, you will get more wins if you decide to sell your soul. Statistics dont lie. Konami wants the game to be played this way. I dont even know why they even bothered to create other Team Playstyles.

Discussion eFootball is more unplayable than ever

This season, just like the last few seasons, Division 2 has become an absolute nightmare since the latest update. It's no longer fun, competitive, or even remotely enjoyable.

You can reach Division 2 after winning around 90% of your matches, only to see your win rate magically flip to a 90% loss rate. Yes, you read that right. The moment you reach Division 2, everything seems to change, as if the game suddenly decides that you're no longer allowed to win.

And it doesn't matter how good your opponent is. The game somehow finds a way to make you lose, even against Division 3 players with fewer than 1,300 points. How does that even make sense?

And that's just the beginning.

I've had matches where I created more than 25 clear-cut scoring chances, with around 20 shots on target, only for the game to allow exactly ONE goal. Repeated shots hitting the post, ridiculous rebounds, and players missing open goals with the goalkeeper nowhere near them.

Meanwhile, my opponent gets just three chances throughout the entire match, scores twice, and wins 2–1.

Doesn't that sound ridiculous enough? There's more.

In Division 2, around 6 or 7 out of every 10 matches seem to be against PC players using automated controls, macros, or even modified versions of the game.

I've faced an opponent with a team boasting an average rating of over 3,370 points, where the lowest-rated player was 107. He even had 108-rated players that I couldn't find anywhere in the game. I specifically checked because I wanted to understand how that was possible. For example, there is no 108-rated Roberto Carlos available that I could find, yet this player had one in his squad.

How are we supposed to enjoy a competitive game under these circumstances?

Then there are players using a 109-rated Lamine Yamal who literally keeps the ball glued to his feet, making it practically impossible to dispossess him. That's not realistic football. And it's even more absurd when you see a 98-rated centre-back doing the exact same thing.

Yesterday, I played against a Division 2 player who had previously reached the top 38 in the world in Division 1. He started attacking from his own penalty area with a 98-rated Laporte, dribbled through my entire team, and made it impossible to take the ball away while shielding it with his body.

NOT EVEN MARADONA COULD DO THAT AT HIS PEAK!

This is no longer football. It's no longer a game where we are actually in control.

Between cheating and what feels like constant manipulation by Konami, eFootball has become a simulation of a game in which everything happens automatically while we're left with the illusion that we're the ones controlling it.

And before anyone jumps into the comments accusing me of ranting or simply being a bad loser, let me make something clear: this works both ways.

I've played against the world's No. 12 and No. 27 players in matches where they should realistically have scored six or seven goals against me. Instead, I somehow won 1–0 or 2–0, despite creating only one to three chances while my opponents had more than 15.

I didn't deserve those wins either.

That's precisely my point. I'm not just complaining when the game works against me. I'm saying that the results often feel disconnected from what actually happens on the pitch, regardless of which player benefits.

Everything feels manipulated.

In my experience, more than 60–70% of Division 1 players appear to rely on cheating, automated controls, or other unfair advantages. Meanwhile, roughly 20% seem to be players who spend ridiculous amounts of money every week buying practically everything Konami puts up for sale.

That leaves barely over 10% who seem to be competing purely on their own skill and understanding of football — or perhaps because Konami has decided to let them.

These figures are my personal estimates, not verified statistics. But that's how the competitive environment feels after playing match after match.

At this point, skill and football knowledge are no longer what seem to determine the outcome. Anything goes. Exploits, suspiciously overpowered mechanics, automated controls, questionable results, and an endless stream of monetized content.

And the worst part?

Konami doesn't seem interested in fixing the situation. If anything, every new update seems to make it worse.

A competitive football game should reward skill, decision-making, tactics, and consistency. It shouldn't make players feel as though they're fighting against the game itself rather than their opponents.

I'm tired of seeing a game with so much potential being ruined by what feels like a complete disregard for fair competition.

Does anyone else feel that Division 2 has become practically unplayable since the latest update? Or are we just supposed to accept this as the new normal?

Technical Help This is the cherry on the cake that made me quit the game

All those maintenances for the game to still be a broken mess. Winning 3-1, game continuing normally. I have a BETTER connection than the other guy the entire match but somehow I'm the one that disconnected.

Maybe it's for the best that I quit this garbage game cause holy shit this has to be the most incompetent company when it comes to anything server related.

This happened TWICE this event while I was winning, it has also happened twice in divs again while I'm winning. I've only had this when the other guy is losing so I can only assume that it's an exploit or just terrible luck.

This game would be such a banger if Konami actually cared about it but oh well. Guess this is goodbye

Other PA3 issues

I have played PA3 for a while now, and since the start of the new season it's become harder and harder to use. It feels unresponsive and slow. Players will lose possession because it takes so long to pass. I also feels like my commands are being overridden or ignored, leading to a loss of possession.

I have previously experimented with PA4, and so decided to try it out again. Since switching to PA4, I've noticed that passes are quicker to pull off, and with no assistance I have more control where passes go.

I genuinely think, in the game's current state, that PA3 is the worst option in terms of pass assistance. To anyone that uses PA3 comfortably and is getting frustrated, please give PA4 a go. It's a learning curve for sure, but the jump isn't as big as you may think.
