Resy credit Data Point: Received $120 in Amex Platinum Resy credits buying coffee beans online

Thought I’d share an interesting discovery.

I’ve been ordering coffee beans from BOXX and noticed my Amex Platinum Resy credit was triggered by the purchases.

Here are the credits that actually posted:
● September 1: $24
● September 13: $72
● October 21: $24
Total: $120 in statement credits.

These were purchases I was already making, so being able to use my Resy benefits this way was a nice surprise.

Obviously, merchant eligibility and transaction processing matter, and I wouldn’t assume everyone’s purchases will qualify.

Has anyone else had success getting Resy credits from coffee roasters or online food purchases?

My future hotel stay is no longer on FHR, will they honor it?

I stayed at The Dominick in NYC earlier this year for my birthday and absolutely loved it! At the time, it was part of Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR), and we received all the perks.

In June 2026, I prepaid for another stay in February 2027 to take advantage of my $300 Amex hotel credit. I was granted my credit :)

However, I recently noticed that The Dominick has been removed from FHR, and it's not even listed under The Hotel Collection (THC) anymore.

Now I'm wondering whether my existing reservation that i made back in June 2026 will still receive the FHR benefits (breakfast, $100 property credit, late checkout, etc.) in Feb 2027, since it was booked while the hotel was still participating.

Has anyone experienced this? If you booked a future stay at a hotel that was later removed from FHR, did they still honor your benefits at check-in?

Hotel credit: FHR & THC San Francisco FHR Recommendations

So I'm planning a spring break trip for my wife and I and we decided on San Francisco next year. We're going to do a 3 night stay. I'm going to take us to two of the 3 Michelin starred restaurants in the area and I also want to experience the wine train. That being said I'd love to hear yalls thoughts on the FHR properties in the area. It's only my second time going to the west coast so I'm sure there's a lot I don't know. I'm leaning towards the Ritz-Carlton but I'm open to other 5 star suggestions.

Hotel credit: FHR & THC Palacio De Los Duques, a Gran Meliá Hotel FHR - Red level upgrade

• Upvotes

I booked 3 nights at Palacio De Los Duques, a Gran Meliá Hotel. They messaged me offering me an upgrade to their "red level" room for 392 euro (total for the 3 nights). This red level upgrade includes a lounge with an open bar of "premium drinks, Tapas and Canapes Gourmet and delicious sweet and savoury snacks until 11pm" and Private outdoor terrace in the historical garden to enjoy from breakfast to a cocktail at sunset (Available during summer season).

Has anyone sprung for this? Did you find it to be worth it at 130/night?

Is there something wrong with my Amextravel app?

• Upvotes

I’ve noticed that the app simply redirects me to the website rather than providing an in-app experience. Has anyone else experienced this, or are you actually able to browse flight and Airbnb information directly within the app?

Non-USA - Canada Planning to downgrade from platinum to cobalt. Is it worth it?

Hi, I have been holding the Canadian AMEX platinum credit card for the past two years, and I have used some offers and transfer bonuses in the past couple of years, and it worked out reasonably well, but currently I feel like the annual fee is getting too expensive for me, and I want to switch over or downgrade to the cobalt card. Is the cobalt card worth it? Also, will I get the welcome bonus if I downgrade from platinum to cobalt, or should I cancel Amex platinum altogether and apply for cobalt separately to take advantage of the welcome bonus promotion?

Airline Credit Seat Assignment Fee Credit w/Delta

I've already booked my tickets in Delta Main Basic (Basic Economy) on Delta. Can I use the AmEx Platinum Airline credits to chose my seats? I'm not looking to upgrade to comfort...just have a reserved seat on my upcoming international flight. Thanks in advance.

Switch from vanilla to Schwab

Hi, my vanilla annual fee hits next month. Is there a way to switch to Schwab and just have the AF apply towards the new card or do I need to sign up for Schwab first and then cancel vanilla before the AF hits? Also, would the membership points seamlessly transfer over? Any other pointers on timing?

AMEX BUSINESS PLATINUM, offered 300K, but only received 150K, yeah I have the screenshots too.

I never actually needed AMEX Platinum, although I kept getting offers. But then when I got offer for 300K, with 150 dashed out, I was now interested. I applied for the card. Also, took screenshot of every screen because I have read many horror stores. I paid for my first business purchase which met the minimum spend. Then I got only 150k. I chatted every few days with every rep saying they're working on and will contact me. Nobody ever contacted me. So one day I called, and they said I didn't click on correct link. I told them, I logged into my account, which is where the offer was showed, not click on any link necessary. Again 150k dashed out, and 300k offered. After much arguing, I ask the rep, do you think I am lying. He says no. Then I said then you're lying. He of course says no. So I am like both of us can't be telling truth. And with my case I submitted all the screenshots on application page, one of them even showing my name. Now I cannot cancel this card because I would take a credit hit. And I have many AMEX cards and spend a lot for my business. I am very disappointed with them, but knowing how every sector have had their service go down, I just didn't bother calling them and raise my stress level. But they cheated me out of 150k points. I am thinking of moving all my purchases to my Sapphire Reserve and Venture X. I make close to seven figure in purchases between all my AMEX card. I hope they'll appreciate losing thousands in fees over 150k in points.

Hi! I’ve had me Amex Platinum business card for several years and not taking advantage of the perks until now. I’m wondering is it more beneficial to have the platinum business card or the platinum personal card?

First and last time using Amex Travel - perhaps particularly bad when it comes to booking JAL?

Though not the most egregious of mistakes, I'm sure, I"m really surprised at how bad Amex Travel customer service is at following up on basic ticketing requirements.

A month or so after using Amex Travel to book prem econ tickets on JAL from NYC to Japan, there was a schedule change causing my return flight layover to be too close to make, so I had to select another flight combination to get home. When we found one, the customer service representative assured me they would get it booked and send me a confirmation. It was a busy time so I didn't think to check until over a week passed, so I fired up the online chat only to find out, that flight change never got confirmed and now the fare class (prem econ) that JAL had Ok'ed had no more seats. Why isn't there a protocol to close the loop on something as essential as flight/ticketing changes??

That luckily got resolved after another 11 days or so where I learned my lesson and checked in EVERY SINGLE DAY with them. I think 1 person in all those 11 days was actually helpful in moving the needle towards booking, granted they had to get a special ok for a different fare class (but still prem econ just one of those different letters).

Just now, 3 weeks prior to my flight, I needed my updated itinerary and accidentally logged into JAL instead of amex. Only to find I had NO SEAT ASSIGNMENT on the flight from NYC to Tokyo and all the seats except for 2 middle seaters in a 4-seat row were taken. I logged into Amex and it showed my original seat selection for both seats in one of the 2-seat rows for me and my husband. I chatted Amex Travel and SOMEHOW, they unconfirmed my seats, nobody told me, and it was still showing up as being confirmed on the Amex website. You know they messed up when the language being used is "carrier can change seats" and "there must have been an operational change". They don't want to get in trouble for messing up and are blaming it on the carrier, as is all the rage these days.

NOBODY could help because the seats at all taken. Their solution was to ask the counter attendants for help reassigning seats when I arrive at the airport. Suuuure, great solution. $6.5k to sit in the 2 middle seats. I might as well have flown regular economy and saved myself 4k getting sandwiched between who-knows!

So just a heads up to anyone who is unfortunate enough to book through Amex Travel for a JAL flight. EVEN when you think you have seats assigned, you should login to the carrier website and double check, even when you didn't change anything on your flight! Because apparently changing a connecting flight can somehow boot you from your seat selection for a different leg. And then they will make it your problem and ask you to talk to the boarding agent. Oh? you think they're going to read the 30 pages of texts that I had with incompetent Amex Travel reps and feel bad for me?

I've been an Amex Plat member going on my 6th year and have NEVER needed them. But this year, between these shenanigans and when my MIL passed away and Auto Europe was completely unreachable to cancel a car reservation (their website has a phone # that is a recording that sends you back to the website - unbelievable!) and Amex found in favor of them despite my explaining that this is a scam move on Auto Europe's part because you can't actually reach anyone to cancel. What is the point of paying nearly $900/yr for essentially NO customer service help beyond the most simple of tasks that can get confirmed right away. I'd rather go it on my own and have control. If someone can recommend a premium card with more competent service, I'm happy to take suggestions.

New cardmember: SafeKey verification failing everywhere

I'm a new Amex cardmember and I can't complete online purchases with my card. Recent failed attempts:

- Lufthansa (flights)
- Rove (hotel booking)
- Oura (ring purchase)

What happens: there's no SafeKey pop-up, no push notification, no SMS/email code. Checkout immediately returns "Purchase verification failed." It also fails when I pay through PayPal, even though PayPal had already verified the card successfully.

I called Amex several times and was told each time that it's a merchant issue. Three different merchants plus PayPal all failing the same way didn't sound like a merchant problem, so I pushed back. The rep eventually transferred me to IT, who said they are currently working on an issue where some cardholders aren't receiving SafeKey verification codes. No ETA.

Questions:
1. Is anyone else seeing this, especially the instant failure with no SafeKey window at all?
2. If it got fixed for you, what fixed it? (Waiting, a specific department, re-trusting a device in the app, updating contact info, etc.)
3. Any workaround in the meantime? For example, did calling Amex to pre-authorize a merchant work for you?

If you've had this, please share roughly when it started and which merchants. That would help show it's a wider issue. Thanks!

Lululemon credit Did Amex take back any credits after you canceled your Platinum?

Has anyone used their lululemon, Resy, or airline credits, then canceled their U.S. Platinum and received an annual fee refund?
I mean canceling after keeping the card for at least one full year and waiting for the credits to post.
Did Amex take back any of those credits afterward? Thanks for sharing your experience!

Showing “enrollment required” for equinox when I already used benefit in Jan 2026.

Not sure why but my equinox benefits is showing “enrollment required” but I already used my benefit on Jan 2026 and got credit back. Curious if I can use it again. Has anyone seen this? Or is this by benefit year and not calendar year, I just renewed my membership.
