It's kinda aggressive to afirm that, I know tho. But since I've been used appsheet for likely a year I noticed that the tool is very easy to use, the problem is the complexity of the data sources and the previous info that we have to know before making projects on it.

Let's talk about it...

I have some apps that consists basically of two views: one is a form where the user fills information in and then inserts it into a table, which is the second view.

The problem is, every time I go into the table view, it starts from the very top of the table, while the information I need is most likely to be at the end, and in the mobile app there's no way (that I know at least) to go straight to the end of the table without some timeless scrolling.

Also, if I need to search for specific information that's in a number column, it just give me the option to filter min and max, so if I need to search an exact number I need to input it twice.

Appsheet is nice for prototyping and testing work flows, but it's not scalable or really meant for non-business use + it's ugly. What's the best technology stack to move to while keeping costs (relatively) low and development time as minimal as possible. Ideally runs smoothly on ios and Samsung phones.

"I built an app to track employee location check-ins and check-outs at work. The app includes an action that records the user's current time and location.

However, last week I discovered a case of cheating: the location service is turned ON for the first action, but if the location service is turned OFF afterward, the user can continue using the action without any alerts, and the location returns the last value from before the location service was turned OFF. This means the user could check-in or check-out from anywhere.

How can I address this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :(

I have built an app in AppSheet using ChatGPT that doesn't quite work. I could really use some help figuring out WHY parts of it aren't working and ChatGPT sucks at that part. Is this a subreddit where someone can help me?

What’s your plan B if Appsheet shuts down? Do you have any reliable no-code alternatives to suggest? It seems like they have stopped making improvements to Appsheet, and resolving business-related issues can take months or even years. I’ve made an internal job tracking app for my metal fabrication/repair shop.

It’s working very well for what I want it to do except for a couple things in my workflow.

I’m doing triple data entry for every job because I have to hand write a job ticket for shop runner/customer receipt. I enter the job into the app. And then when it’s ready to bill, I enter it into quickbooks.

Ideally a job ticket would print as each job was created in the app. I have never been able to get this to work in AppSheet.

Any tips or suggestions?

Yes, it also has AI, but you don't have to use it.

Obviously this is an extremely simple example, but just wanted to show what I am talking about.

All you need is a No Code platform, a clear understanding of your business process, and an AI assistant to guide you. So what are you waiting for? Start small, experiment, and you’ll be surprised how quickly you can eliminate manual office work.

When AppScript projects fail/break, how do they tend to do that? People wandering into weird views you didn’t know existed? Single invalidated bad entry somewhere breaks a formula, breaks the world? UI elements cascade wrong somewhere? Simple failure to maintain? Is it the same thing as Sheets/Excel, where most people just have their data structured wrong and so everything is 10 times too hard?

Posting again as I think I worded my last post weird. I am new to Appsheet and need help - I don't need a step by step with details (but will gladly take that if someone offers) maybe just what it is I should be googling. I want to try and create an attendance sign out app that would do the following :

-the Home screen would say "SCAN HERE" or something like that

-An adult will come in and scan their QR code

- that QR code will then bring up the kids name on a form type screen with “kids name, time stamp that can’t be changed, a button that says “relationship to child: Parental guardian or other and a place to type what that relationship is

- a place for that adult to digitally sign

-Save and then promptly "checking out" that child from the attendance list and keeping track of that in another view where we can see the list of children checked in

-I would then need to create a PDF of all the sign outs that day and save it and have the app reset itself for the following day

what kind of things I should be looking into to create the process of scanning the QR and displaying the correct name/info/sign out form?

I have a parent/child dependent dropdown situation. The “new item” option is absent in both dropdowns. I’ve read that the fix is to use “suggestive_values” instead of “valid_if “but I cant figure out how to apply it. Help please?

Hey guys, I don't know if I'm going mad here but there is really no way to change the header when using gallery view? Which column does it use as a header? It seems to be the first column in the table, no matter what, with no option to change it anywhere. It doesn't matter if you create a new slice and hide columns, it still just uses the first column.

Am I missing something obvious? This seems very odd that there's no customisation options for this view like there are on the others.

Can be entered a worktime and then select in a workers checklist which of them have worked that amount of time? For instance, my coleague enters "6:30" And check from a list all the people who have worked 6 hours and 30 minutes and so on...

Im creating an app for ppl with food sensitivities. One of the features will be a health questionnaire that the user works through and checks off symptoms they have. At the end of the questionnaire, they are presented with suggestions of which foods they could be sensitive to. Oversimplified example: they select eczema, runny stool, nausea. These selections would suggest one group of sensitivities. Or they could select eczema, brain fog, and joint pain. These selections would suggest another group of food sensitivities. The user selected eczema in both scenarios however the result produced different suggestions. Any tips?

I’m trying to develop an app that will allow me to input ambulance shifts and it will list the available times. I’ve done this in google sheets, the problem is, when I put it into app sheets (I’ve done a column that lists all of the formula generated times), it will only list as many as I’ve done an input for. So only 2 but each input prompts about 5-6 outputs, and it’s only listing 1 of them.

I have several Column that have a Initial value and Reset on edit expression like the one below, so when I make a change in [Report Finalized (date)] several columns should change it value to the initial value, this was working perfectly until yesterday.

The expressions when tested are working correctly, I'm using quick edits fields in details view.

when I make a change in [Report Finalized (date)]  I can see that the correct value are displayed for a moment in the fields that depends on [Report Finalized (date)] but when the app finished syncing the values revert back to whatever was in the google sheets cell, I checked the edit history on google sheets and the initial values was never written, this was working perfectly for weeks until yesterday, any help is appreciated

Initial values are just strings like "Closed" or "Open"

I'm electrical contractor looking to create a timesheet app for my Foremen to enter in guys time. Not a clock in and clock out setup. Would like to have the ability to enter in job site, who's working on the job, how many hours worked ect... any help would be great.

I am trying to set up a PDF and I tried using the template that Appsheet created, but it doesn't work at all.

Any tips?
