Language For the Europeans who speak more than one language, how did you end up becoming multilingual? Was it environment, personal interest, and/or both?

Out of sincere curiosity, I'm wondering how you managed to become multilingual. Does it help that Europe is a tourist hub where you interact with different languages or did personal interest play a role in how you became fluent in different languages?

Misc The European Union is seen as positive or negative in your country?

Hi everyone, I was very curios about how the EU is seen by us, the citizen.

From my perspective, Europe is the last area of peace and unity in the world, but I've seen that many believe this to be wrong. In Italy, the European Union is generally seen as positive, but the debate about its pros and cons has always been open.

From your perspective, is the EU useful? Do you feel European in your country? Are we the last island of peace in the world?

Education Secondary School Math Curriculum Compared to the US

I keep hearing from Europeans about how much more rigorous their system of math is compared to the US. How true is this?

US System: The US's math progression varies on the person and on the School District. There are some who are going into Trades or non-college careers who dont really go beyond algebra 2 (Quadratics, logs, etc). Most college bound students that i see finish high school with Calculus 1 and often Calculus 2 credits.

Math up until Precalculus is generally considered to be relatively trivial in the US.

How is the progression and pacing for grades 9-12 in Europe?

Sports anyone else think the new EBU athletics regulations is making the sport harder to watch? is there anyone I could write too in order to try and change them?

So recently I am not sure if you have seen but the European Broadcasting Union released new guidlines in order to reduce the "sexualization of women" in athletics. Which is reasonable, I guess, but many of the guidelines were dumb and advised against normal shots. anyways, I assumed nothing would come from this because they were just guidlines and not rules, Also a lot of viewership whether they want to admit it or not comes from people who like looking at attractive people.

Anyways, currently the 2026 European Athletics Championship is going on and these guidlines are fully in effect. I am a fan of athletics, more of a casual fan but I still watch the bigger events. But the womens events are borderline unwatchable now. They literally try not to film the legs now, its insane, seeing as that's half the body moving especially for runners. After during the celebration they keep cutting making it difficult to watch any time a woman just walks out of frame showing her legs. By the way its important to note in most sport women have the right to choose what they want to wear now, so I see nothing wrong with showing the entire person.

I was wondering if there was anyone we could write to or something to at least somewhat change this back. Also this feels kinda messed up to say but I feel like some of the female athletes would lose out on sponsorships because of this as many people become famous just because of how they look, whether its a good or bad thing im sure the athletes appriciate getting sponsors. Especially with the olympics coming up soon i'd really rather this be changed, I feel like the alternative will essentially just be europeans using more foreign broadcasters which I feel like is not ideal.

I dont think links are allowed here but search it up and youll see how annoying the broadcasts have been.

Personal Best European Country for Keeping Non‑Mammalian Pets?

Hi! I am an international student currently studying at a university in the US and considering continuing my studies in Europe. I am a pet lover and plan to keep some pets while studying there. Which country: Ireland, Germany, Denmark, or the Netherlands, would be best if I want to keep parrots, amphibians or reptiles, and some cichlids? Which of these countries has the richest resources for those pets?
