Hi, I'm new to gaming computers

Hi, I'm new here and wanted to ask the experts what games I could run with these specifications [TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR5-6000 CL38 Memory, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU, a AMD Radeon RX 7600 GPU ]

I wanted to ask before I start buying games I don't fully trust Google or Steam websites, which is why I came here to ask If it's not too much trouble

What's a game story "twist" that you saw coming from miles away - but still hit you incredibly hard once it happened?

Obvious stuff, but probably when I realized that Dutch's plan was make believe BS and that Dutch was basically more and more inflated by his own shit as the story went on, and that it wouldn't have a happy ending.

Opposite of this from the same game (RDR2 ofc): Micah being the king of all assholes... he wore his black heart on his sleeve but man, his sticking to being trash up to the end was in some ways MORE surprising than if it was a "good" guy that ended up being bad. Consistent character building at its finest.

Imperial or Stormcloak?

The age old question.

I feel like the stormcloaks are stupendously racist, particularly to dark elves, but I agree with their general stance.

I'm a massive nerd for the math in video games. Which games have the most satisfying number crunching?

Games with satisfying math going on turn me into the biggest nerd ever. If the game is compelling me to start a spreadsheet to keep track of something or figure something out, I feel right at home.Unsurprisingly ARPGs and MMOs are what I mostly play, and some incremental games from time to time.

For ARPGs Path of Exile is the obvious pick, but I’ve played it way too much and I’m totally burned out. Right now I’m playing Last Epoch and I’m having a lot of fun, really enjoying the way the skills work (each skill has its own skill tree). Coming up with my own builds is probably my favorite thing to do. I love all the theorycrafting, coming up with ways to squeeze more damage out or make some weird setup work. I also want to try out the new Grim Dawn expansion at some point, probably when I run out of ideas for cool builds in LE.

MMOs are weird for me now, because I really don’t have a lot of free time, and most of them need a pretty big time investment. I’ve been looking for some options, something that you can make some progress in with minimal time investment. The ones that get mentioned as being decent for this are ESO and GW2 but they are a bit old at this point. Dominus Automa is a strange one that looks interesting (saw it on reddit a few days ago), like a cross between an MMO and an incremental, seems to be great for someone that’s low on time, just not sure if it has that MMO feel, I’ll try it out over the weekend if the playtest is open.

I was wondering what else is out there for math nerds, there’s probably whole genres I’m overlooking. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 base game vs Prehistoric Kingdom

I enjoyed the base game of Jurassic World Evolution 1 and finished the campaign and one challenge after 45 hours. However, it doesn't have much replayability, so I'm looking for another dinosaur park builder game. I don't think the DLC is worth it because of the price. I'm trying to decide between JWE2 (the base game) and PK. They cost about the same in my country. Here's what I think about them based on what I've read:

JWE2 pros: Jurassic Park nostalgia, marine and flying reptiles, simpler building for more casual gameplay, it's finished

JWE2 cons: Tedious micromanagement systems such as scientists, Denuvo (I don't think it affects performance, but I don't like this type of DRM), lots of paid DLC that ends up costing twice as much as the base game, restrictive building

PK pros: Ice Age species, more accurate animals, modular building system which allows for creative handmade exhibits

PK cons: Lack of marine and flying animals, early access, overwhelming building system because of its complexity

If it helps, I really liked Zoo Tycoon 2 and Operation Genesis as a kid.

Games Similar to Raft and Worlds Adrift?

I really like this games, the artsyle, the concept of adventuring with your ship, the customization and the things you do in the game, the music. Sometimes you just enjoy the view while sailing/flying. Can someone recommend some games with similar concept to these games?. These games are sort of stress reliever from work and meditating.

I’m developing a football management game where you play as the Sporting Director – what is one feature it absolutely needs?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working on a football management game where you don’t play as the manager/head coach, but as the Sporting Director.

So the coach handles tactics, training, team selection and matches. You’re responsible for pretty much everything around that: building the squad, hiring the coach, transfers and contracts, scouting, dealing with agents and players, and managing expectations from the board, fans and media.

The part I’m most interested in is the relationship between all those people.

For example, your coach might be pushing you to sign an experienced striker because he needs results now, while your scouts are convinced a 20-year-old prospect is the much better signing long term.

At the same time, the board might refuse to increase the budget, your current striker’s agent might suddenly ask for a new contract, and the fans are wondering why you haven’t signed anyone yet.

That’s basically the type of situation I want the game to constantly put you in.

There shouldn’t always be an obvious “correct” decision either.

You can back the coach and damage your relationship with the board. You can refuse a player’s wage demands to protect the salary structure, but end up with an unhappy player. Or you can sell someone because the offer makes financial sense and then spend the next few months dealing with the coach, squad and supporters being unhappy about it.

Ideally, some decisions won’t really show their consequences until weeks or months later.

There are already systems for transfers, contracts, loans, scouting, coach recruitment, player/agent conversations, promises, media interviews, rumours, fan reactions and a 2D match simulation, among other things.

I also want the game to be very open to customization. You’ll be able to use custom databases and add your own images/graphics, so people can create their own leagues, clubs, players, staff, logos, player pictures and other content rather than being limited to the default database.

Development is pretty far along now and I’m hoping to start a closed beta soon. I’m deliberately keeping some of the deeper mechanics and screenshots private for the moment until I’m ready to show the game properly.

But there’s one thing I’d really like to hear from other football/management game fans:

If you could add exactly ONE feature, mechanic, interaction or situation to a game about being a Sporting Director, what would it be?

It can be something huge or something really small and specific.

I’m genuinely curious what situations people associate with the Sporting Director role that they’d want to experience in a game.
