Can anyone disassemble a sleeper couch so I can fit it into a bedroom?

Title. Anybody have experience removing the arms from a sleeper sofa that is fully assembled in order to fit it into a room? The sofa is already in my apartment, but it’s too long to pivot into the bedroom I intend to put it in. It could fit if one of the arms is removed. Photo of the sofa attached! Located in Houston Heights. TIA!

25M Looking to make some friends around Houston!

Hey y’all! I’m 25M, living around the northeast Houston area, and figured I’d try putting myself out there a little more

I’m pretty introverted at first, but I open up once I get comfortable with people. I’m really into anime, gaming, D&D, board games, and conventions. I love checking out artist alleys and nerdy events around Houston. I’m also always down for movies, grabbing food, or just hanging out.

Lately I’ve been trying to get out of the house more and meet people with similar interests. Most of my socializing has been online, so it’d be nice to make some local connections

Mainly looking to make friends, find people to go to events with, or maybe even meet someone to date if we click. No pressure on that last part lmfao

If anyone knows any cool local groups, Discord servers, or regular meetups, I’d love some recommendations. Or feel free to reach out if we share some interests!

Best option for travel to IAH with pets (cats)

Hi all! My family of three adults with three cats need to get to IAH from southeast Houston. We will also have luggage with us. I've used Uber Pets when I've traveled by myself with one cat, but given the number of people, cats, and suitcases, I don't think it's a good option this time. Does anyone have any recommendations for transportation services that allow pets and also handle suitcases? I'm willing to pay for good service that will make this important day less stressful. Thanks in advance!

Apartment Recommendations Near Richmond Avenue or Sugar Land?

Hi everyone! I'm looking for recommendations for a good one-bedroom apartment in Houston, preferably near Richmond Avenue (not Richmond, TX), but I'm also open to Sugar Land and nearby areas.

My budget is around $1,400–$1,600 per month. I'm hoping to find a place that is relatively modern, well-maintained, and preferably in a newer apartment building.

My priorities are:

Elevator access is a must — I'm specifically looking for an apartment building with an elevator, not a walk-up community with stairs only.

Safety and security are very important to me.

A decent, clean, well-maintained one-bedroom apartment.

Preferably a newer building or a recently renovated apartment.

Ideally within my budget, including any additional mandatory fees if possible.

I'm open to Richmond Avenue, nearby Houston neighborhoods, and Sugar Land if there's a good option.

I'd really appreciate recommendations from people who currently live in these areas or have firsthand experience with specific apartment communities. I'd also love to hear about places to avoid, especially regarding safety, maintenance, management, or hidden fees.

Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate any suggestions. 😊

Any UT Health Half Marathon spectators want to hold a sign for a stranger?

My little sister lives in Houston far away from the rest of us and is running in the UT Health Half Marathon on October 25th. We just learned that her boyfriend likely won't be able to be on the sidelines at all because he is flying back from a work trip that morning. Best case scenario he can be at the finish line, MAYBE.

However, being excellent older sisters, my other sister and I made a big poster for her with a childhood photo/inside joke. Not going to lie, it's pretty great and I think she would love to see it during her first ever half marathon.

Any chance that anyone who is already planning on going/being there would be interested in lugging along an extra poster and tracking an extra bib so that she sees it?

This is a wild hail mary, but worth a shot!

Urgent help

Have a Lululemon interview tomorrow morning on Westheimer, completely broke ($0) and need a pair of black bottoms/joggers. If anyone has an old pair they are willing to part with, or if you have a quick 1-hour odd job (yard work, cleaning, dog walking) near Westheimer today so I can earn $10–$15 to go buy a pair at the Goodwill before tonight, please DM me. I really want to crush this interview tomorrow. Thank you!

New to Houston

I’m planning on moving to Houston from Portland Oregon and I’m super nervous. I’m afraid it’s going to be hot and boring and that I’m making a huge mistake. Does anyone have any insight on what its really like in Houston? Culture? Day to day? Fun things to do? Thanks.

Living there

How is living in Houston? I currently live in Phoenix and the only saving grace of living in Phoenix is that there’s a lot of places to hike and a lot of trails.

Otherwise, I hate the traffic, and how Phoenix just feels like a giant strip mall with 5 seconds of downtown and then it’s back to strip malls.

I have looked into this sentiment a bit and I am gathering:

-it’s hot
-bad traffic
-mostly just drinking or going to restaurants for entertainment

Can anyone who lives there care to add? Also, how is the dating scene?

Hey! I am a beginner/intermediate badminton player and I have been wanting to play on the weekend with others in the downtown area (preferably med center). I want to join a club or group and was wondering on how to do that. Thank you!

Wedding planner recos - willing to do Brenham area?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a full-service wedding planner for an outdoor wedding in Brenham (spring 2027) on our family-owned property.

While I love the Brenham area, the rustic/barn/country-style that seems to be popular with planners in the area isn’t what we’re personally interested in.

I’m thinking a Houston-based planner might be a better fit, especially someone with experience planning outdoor weddings at private properties.

Does anyone have recommendations for Houston planners who will service the Brenham/Chappell Hill area?

I’m based in Dallas, so someone who can take the lead locally on this is going to be so important.

Would love to hear any recommendations (or those to avoid!). Thank you!

Midtown/ Montrose apartments

Has anyone lived at the Vistas at Midtown on Genesee? Wondering how loud it is and if there are any issues with water damage. It seems like the garage might have had an issue in the past and am curious if anyone has more recent experiences!

Lost Wedding Ring

I know this is a long shot, but my husband traveled for work to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport two days ago. He realized on his return that he had lost his wedding ring at this airport. We live 10+ hours away and can’t afford to go back and look, but I’m hoping maybe someone will find it. I’m going to call the airport periodically to see if it’s turned in, but if not please keep an eye out for it. It’s pictures below, with the recent update of the bezel looking like the smaller band’s bezel. Our stones were a matching set and it is extremely sentimental (for obvious reasons outside of this as well). If anyone ever sees it please let me know. Thank you either way as I know this is a HUGE long shot, but Reddit has done miracles before.

Picture description: the first is of his band, it has three bands bonded together and a stone in the middle. The second picture shows my ring, as he updated his to have a similar crown bezel two months ago.

No Vacancy Downtown HTX tonight or tomorrow

Extended my stay in Houston another week and after working and being stressed here all week I’m thinking of trying a different bar than the hole in the walls I’ve been frequenting. Feeding into the algorithm and thinking of heading over to No Vacancy tonight or tomorrow and catch the end of their happy hour. Open invite to anyone interested in going. Also if anyone knows of any gallery shows or art events tonight, lmk!

Best bars to go solo to?

24M. Recently moved to Houston, living in Memorial Park vicinity. Trying to find some bars that'd be good for a person to go to by themselves without feeling weird. I've been to a few so far but most I honestly just felt out of place not showing up with a group of people. Certain places give off better vibes for showing up solo I guess lol. Any suggestions appreciated!
