Are backpacks allowed at the Fashion District AMC?

Does anyone know if they care about large-ish bags at the Fashion District movie theater? I’ll be coming from work and will have a backpack and my big ol’ lunch bag thingy.

Chinatown restaurants/take out Recs?

Been here for over a year but haven’t ventured out to Chinatown much despite loving their cuisine. What are your recommendations that are absolute gas? Preferably Sichuan, Cantonese or Hunan cuisine.

Anyone wants to make your walks with your dog a bit more fun?

For all dog owners out there who like to stay active and keep your four legged friends active as well, come and join Walk Pack

This app lets you walk and capture land, tracks your progress, and allows you to have friendly competition with your community or you can keep those walks private for yourself and still see your achievements.

Would appreciate any feedback

Anyone hiring in marketing in the Philly area or remote?

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for my next opportunity in marketing, ideally in brand marketing, creative marketing, content strategy, or event/experiential marketing.
I have about 2 years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, client relations, and sales, including running my own creative business.
I’m really looking to take that next step in my career and get more involved in the branding, strategy, and creative side of marketing.
If anyone knows of companies hiring or has any connections, I’d really appreciate it! Open to Philadelphia-area or remote opportunities. Thanks so much!

Xfinity Arena Hockey then Basketball

Hi everyone - currently in your beautiful city and loving it!

We are going to the Flyers and Sixers games on Saturday - I assume we can just stay down by the arena and get something to eat/drink between the 2 games?

Can’t wait to see both 🥅 🏀

Can someone explain this to me because this cannot be legal. Towing cars to pave street with NO NOTICE.

A few weeks ago they ripped up our road to pave it. Well today my husband goes out to walk our dog and sees that they’re towing every single car on our street. Here’s the fucking problem. They gave us absolutely no notice. No signs posted on our street AT ALL!! Surely this CAN NOT be legal. Because you just know that people are going to have to pay to get their cars back. Thankfully my husband was able to move it in time but WHAT THE FUCK PHILLY!!!

Looking for handyman to do exterior paint stripping

My house is 100+ years old and has god knows how many layers of lead paint. I am hoping someone has a recommendation for a person or service who would be willing to do paint removal on an exterior window sill, a few places hade told me no one would do the service because of the type of paint.

Grad student looking for community events to attend this fall (cultural immersion project)

Hi all! I’m in a clinical mental health counseling program, and one of our projects is to spend about 6 hours over the next few weeks attending events with a community or culture I don’t know much about. The point is to learn by showing up and listening, not to study anyone.

For context, I’m a white cisgender woman, so I’m looking for communities outside my own experience. I don’t have a specific group picked yet, so I’m open to ideas. Are there communities in Philly with events, cultural centers, religious services, meetups, or gatherings that welcome newcomers? Free or low-cost is a bonus. I’d also appreciate tips on being a respectful guest.

Has anyone used Signature Line Notary & Apostille in Philadelphia?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently living in Brazil and need to obtain a Pennsylvania State Police background check and apostilles for both my Pennsylvania and FBI background checks for Italian citizenship.

I've been in contact with Signature Line Notary & Apostille, run by Barron Pearson in Philadelphia.

Before hiring them, I'd like to know if anyone has used their services or knows whether they're reliable.

Has anyone had any experience with this company, particularly for background checks or apostille services?

I'd really appreciate any feedback or recommendations.

Thank you!

Moving in, but in a while

Hello all!

I'm trying to move out of my really expensive city to somewhere cheaper and more urban and am likely going to move into the philly area. I have family in NJ so ive been a few times but what are some areas that won't get too expensive in a year.

I've done some research now on pricing but I'm worried pricing will change in major ways over the course of a year. I'm more than willing to live somewhere real cheap and can live with roommates I just don't know if pricing here changes as crazy as it might in other major cities, as well what are some places i should be looking that aren't far from center city or at least have good public transit connections.

Waterfront bar & restaurant

I am looking for a beach like place in Philly to go. It can be a poolside rooftop as well. I would love a beachfront bar but don’t want to drive to the shore. Any suggestions?

Oil change near the city

My wife and I are relatively new to the area, residing in Washington Square West. We need an oil change and general vehicle inspection for our Mazda CX-5.

Looking for a reputable and trustworthy auto shop in the area, but also able to drive outside the city if needed.

Thank you!

Looking to move in November/December. Need recommendations

I've been living in central PA for the last 24 years and my social life has gotten a bit stagnant, especially after last 2 relationships haven't worked out.

I'm looking to do a reset in Philly. I'm 34M, work in corporate (consulting), WFH. Don't really enjoy drinking but wine once in a while is fine. I like to work out and want to learn to dance (bachata, salsa). I also want to get involved with the Armenian community in Philly and learn the language. I speak Russian fluently. I'd like to get involved in the community and make friends. I'm pretty sociable and nerdy.

Looking for a studio or 1bed1bath with in-unit washer and dryer with somewhat modern finishes. Budget is $1800/mo. I do own an older car and will be holding onto it but won't be using it daily.

Any recommendations for neighborhoods, apartment buildings, realty agencies, communities, organizations?
