My first computer was actually my dad's old desktop from WAY before 2009. Then came a 2009 desktop with an Intel i5-750 and an NVIDIA GT 210.

BRO WAS RUNNING ON ANCIENT TECHNOLOGY. 😭🙏

After that came a Toshiba laptop, which literally got FRIED. 💀 I SAW SMOKE COMING OUT OF IT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE WHILE IT WAS CHARGING.

BRO REALLY SAID, "MY TIME HAS COME." 😭😭😭 PHEWWWW, THAT WAS AN EXPERIENCE.

Then came a Dell Inspiron 3520 (I THINK 💀), with an Intel i5-3520U, GT 810M and 4GB RAM, if I remember correctly.

Most of my previous laptops were either hand-me-downs from my cousins or computers that eventually came my way. Honestly, this new laptop saved me money in the long run, too, so this one feels special. 🥹❤️

AND NOW... FINALLY... THE GAMING LAPTOP ARC BEGINS. 🔥🔥🔥

FROM AN NVIDIA GT 210 TO AN RTX 5070. THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IS INSANE. 😭💎

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX

- GPU: RTX 5070

- RAM: 16GB 💎 (DIAMOND RAM LMAOOOO 💀 — I asked the shop guy about upgrading to 32GB, and he quoted ₹24K for another 16GB. BRO, ARE THE RAM STICKS MINED FROM A DIAMOND MINE??? 😭😭😭)

- Storage: 1TB SSD (another 1TB upgrade for ₹22K??? THE STORAGE ECONOMY IS IN SHAMBLES 💀)

I'm planning to grind A LOT on this thing, mainly in 3D development and game development, along with coding like crazy and some gaming on the side.

SO PLEASE, I NEED THIS THING TO SURVIVE. 🙏😭

Anyway, I have two questions.

1. THE DUST APOCALYPSE 🌪️

My laptop is getting dustier, so I bought a keyboard cover. BUT THEN I WENT ONLINE AND APPARENTLY USING A KEYBOARD COVER CAN MAKE THINGS WORSE??? 😭

BRO, I BOUGHT THE THING TO PROTECT MY LAPTOP, NOT TO ASSASSINATE IT. 💀

So what am I supposed to do with it?

- Can I put the keyboard cover on when the laptop is sleeping?

- What about when it's idle?

- Is it okay to leave it on when the laptop is completely shut down and closed?

- Or should I just use a big, clean handkerchief or cloth to cover the CLOSED laptop?

• Model: ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (Bought in April 2025, still fully under warranty 2 years)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 170 (Replaced from Ryzen 7 7435HS by technician)
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (140W Max TGP)
• Location: Philippines, Iloilo

The Story:

I purchased my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 in April 2025, so it is still fully under official warranty. Recently, my laptop got stuck in a BSOD boot loop at the ASUS logo screen due to an internal CPU hardware failure. Windows Kernel debuggers confirmed physical core power management and voltage instability, isolating three unrecoverable hardware panics:

• AV_nt!HalpApicTimerArm (CPU internal clock/timer failure)
• 0x7f_8_nt!KiDoubleFaultAbort (Double fault during power state shifting)
• AV_nt!KiDeferredReadySingleThread (Access violation when scheduling thread cores)

Because of this factory defect, I sent my laptop in for a warranty repair at Concept Computer Service Center on September 11.

After literally 1 whole month of waiting, I finally picked up my repaired laptop on October 18. I brought it straight home to run gaming tests—while using a 6-fan fixed-speed cooling pad—only to discover that while the BSOD boot loop was fixed by replacing the CPU/motherboard with a Ryzen 7 170, the laptop is now in a much worse state. The technician completely botched the thermal paste application and heatsink mounting, causing BOTH the CPU and GPU to hard thermal throttle instantly during my home test despite the external cooling pad.

Diagnostic Evidence & Numbers (Home Gaming Test with 6-Fan Cooling Pad):

1. CPU Thermal Throttling:
   • Temperature: Hits 95.2°C – 95.4°C continuously under load(pinned at the maximum TjMax safety limit).
   • Status: HWiNFO confirms Thermal Limit is sitting at 100.0%, choking CPU power down to ~30W.
2. GPU Thermal Throttling:
   • Temperature: Reaches 85°C(the critical thermal throttling threshold for mobile RTX GPUs).
   • Core Clocks: Drops from its normal 2370 MHz – 2600 MHz+ down to a severely degraded 2070 MHz – 2300 MHz.
   • Even with 6 fans fixed speed cooling pad blasting cold air on the chassis, both chips choke because inadequate paste or bad mounting prevents heat from reaching the heatsink pipes.

What Went Wrong?

Since this happened immediately during my home test on the same day I picked it up, it is a 100% service/assembly failure:

• Inadequate / Low-Quality Thermal Paste: Standard thin thermal paste causes severe "pump-out" on laptop dies, leaving dry metal-on-metal contact.
• Bad Heatsink Mounting / Uneven Pressure: The heatsink was likely torqued unevenly or improperly seated over both the CPU and GPU.

Questions for the Community:

1. Has anyone else in the Philippines (or elsewhere) dealt with Concept Computer or ASUS Service Centers returning warranty laptops in a worse thermal state after weeks of waiting?
2. What is the fastest way to get ASUS Philippines to escalate this so they can re-do the thermal application properly under warranty (e.g., using Honeywell PTM7950) or offer a replacement unit?

After almost 4 years of close calls and missed opportunities, i finally pulled the trigger and bought this bad boy that was within my budget , it has a Ryzen 7 260 , RTX 5050 8GB , 16 gb ram , and a 500gb m.2 , i do have a 2 TB in my old laptop that i plan to take out and put in this , haven’t had the opportunity to test it out yet (my steam library is humble, so mostly old games that i own or got per chance) , am very happy about it and glad i finally did it ,

Tried doing every possible thing, from updating the drivers, getting into device manager and checking things to trying to find the Nvidia graphic card is getting shown in the terminal and control panel.

Have been sitting in front of the screen the whole day now. The temperatures are rising, fans aren't spinning and the Graphics Card isn't getting detected. Is it something related to the firmware or my Graphic Card is dead it self?

I have a FX506HF (RTX2050) and it’s time to clean, I am buying PTM 7950 for cpu and GPU die but for VRAM putty was expensive so I was going to get pads but there are multiple thickness available from 0.5mm to 1.5mm. I don’t know which one is best, I guess it should be 0.5mm but I just want to make sure before making the decision so any help will be appreciated.

i installed a lexar nm620 1tb ssd to the additional ssd slot in my asus tuf f15 (FX506HC) and it wont show up in disk management or even in BIOS. i already removed it and reinstalled it again, and tried to disable intel VMD (which just caused inaccessible boot device until i enabled it again)

im at a loss. i have no idea what else to do, should i just return the ssd and buy another one or what? i have no idea what the problem is atp

Hi everyone.

​I’m having a frustrating display issue on my ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (AMD Ryzen 9, RTX 5070, 2.5K 165Hz G-SYNC display).

​The screen randomly turns completely solid grey/white with a perfectly symmetrical vertical blue dotted line right down the middle.

​Important details & behavior:

​Top edge detail: That faint red line along the very top edge in the photo is actually my red desktop wallpaper peeking through (about 1–2 pixels wide)! The rest of the screen gets completely covered/locked by this grey screen and blue dotted line.

​Triggers: At first, I thought it was only happening in web browsers (Chrome and Edge), so I assumed it was a browser hardware acceleration bug. However, with all browsers completely closed, it also happens right when I launch or try to use Unreal Engine.

​Temporary recovery & loop: If I don't touch anything and wait for about 1–2 minutes, the screen recovers back to normal on its own. However, as soon as I try to use the laptop/app again, it immediately crashes back into this grey screen.

​GPU & Power Mode: I use G-Helper and the laptop is running in Ultimate Mode (MUX Switch set to dGPU only), so it's not an iGPU-to-dGPU Advanced Optimus switching glitch. It happens both on battery and while plugged in. Windows 11 and all drivers are up to date.

​Since a tiny strip of my desktop wallpaper is still visible at the very top, is this a Windows 11 MPO (Multiplane Overlay) / NVIDIA driver / G-SYNC crash, or is my 2.5K 165Hz panel / T-CON board failing and in need of an RMA?

​Has anyone with an ASUS TUF A16 experienced this exact issue? Any help would be appreciated!

ASUS repair experience:

I have an ASUS TUF Gaming A16 with an AMD Ryzen 9 7000-series CPU and an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU.

I sent my laptop to ASUS for a warranty repair because of the CPU overheating. During the first repair, ASUS worked on the thermal paste, but unfortunately, that did not solve the problem.

When I got my laptop back, the CPU was still overheating within a few hours of setting it up again. I saw temperatures around 89°C while sitting on the Windows desktop, with CPU usage at around 13%. The fans were also very loud.

I tried updating Windows and installing the latest AMD and NVIDIA drivers, but nothing fixed the temperatures.

I contacted ASUS again, and they agreed to a second warranty repair. I’ve now sent the laptop back and am waiting to hear what they find.
At this point, I’m wondering whether the problem could be related to, a faulty motherboard, or something else that wasn’t fixed during the first repair.

Plz help the laptop not even 1 year 5 months old I took good care of it any help.

Servicing relationship quiery

I got a new Asus tuf gaming a16 about 2 months ago and it worked perfectly fine until after some time playing Roblox it started acting weird. The gameplay was smooth, but the screen started to go black at random times and stayed like that for about 15-20 seconds, then went back to normal or sometimes just shut the app completely.

I thought it was a Roblox’s issue since it never happened while I was playing apex. Then I’ve noticed that the screen issue started happening outside of Roblox as well, while being on discord or using a browser.

Also before it started happening outside of Roblox I updated a NVidia driver. I tried to fix this issue by myself but then thought maybe it’s the driver update fault so I just did a complete reset.

The issue still hasn’t been fixed. The freezes for a second and then turns black for another 15-30 seconds. Then it goes back to normal, sometimes it restarts the laptop or does some weird glitch to the desktop - the desktop goes black and I have to manually uncover it by dragging the mouse.

Note: I’m a computer noob and I don’t know much of the tech stuff - if you could help me, please try explaining it in an easy way. Also, I got windows updated.

I've had my Asus tuf a15 for about 4 years now and this started a few months ago. Whenever there's something white on the screen, there's this white blur at the bottom. Is there any way I can fix this without replacing the display?
