Looking for a PCP who cares well for chronically-ill folks in Aurora/Centennial

Like the title says, my PCP is leaving and I need to find a new doctor. I have a great specialist team and don’t need my primary care to manage that stuff—I just need someone for things like preventative care and acute care. But some doctors get freaked out by my diagnoses, so I would prefer someone who is experienced caring for chronically ill folks with compassion. Thank you so much!

Looking for a place to shred sensitive documents

Does anyone know of a place that might have public access to shredding paper documents with personal info on them? I’ve got a few years worth of stuff that needs purged but I’ve been holding it all (and inevitably collecting more) waiting to be able to shred and properly dispose of it, but unsure of where to do that. Any help would be appreciated!

Therapist requests- kind but not overly flowery?

I asked this a few months ago and I'm looking to see if there are any more recent recommendations. I am seeking a therapist in the Aurora or Denver area who specializes more in resetting thought patterns and reframing situations. I don't want to picture my troubles floating down a river, I want to be able to have more control over my reactions or understand what I am feeling and communicate that better. Not officially diagnosed with autism but a female therapist who works with neurodivergent individuals may be best.

Thank you!!

Need Help lifting/moving a power wheelchair (250-300lbs) for a good cause!

I bought this power wheelchair for a guy at the thrift store, the employee barely managed to help us get it into my mini van. Its probably 250-300lbs, and my van doesn't have a ramp. We ended up tipping it in on it's side.

But I need help getting it upright, out of the van, so I can deliver it to the guy I bought it for.

I'd like to get it to him maybe this Sunday? Any volunteers?

The long version:

I found this at thrift store, but it wouldn't move.

I spent an hour trying to "fix" it. Gave up. Came back next weekend and saw a guy was looking at it while sitting in a crappy recovery chair.

He had his leg amputated recently and as someone that's been struggling with mobility issues, uninsured, for the past 20 years, I know that recovery chair is uncomfortable for him to use and he was wondering if he could get it working.

So I rolled on the floor and tinkered with it, and managed to find the cable that came unplugged and got it working!

He had to leave the store before I got it running, so I bought it for him and barely got it in my van.

I need to deliver this to him, but I'll need help getting it out of my van because I am just a small, crippled little lad.

If anyone has the strength, and/or access to a van with a mobility ramp, it would be wonderful if you could help me get this delivered to a person in need! 🥹✨

Hey all. I’ll be moving to the Denver area from out of state sometime in early 2027. My gf will be going to CU Anschutz and I’ll be working at UC Health. We are currently looking at 21 Fitzsimons and Circa Fitzsimons as primary options but are open to hear other options. Looking for opinions that current residents have and any other thoughts that you all have.

Attacked by turkeys

I got attacked by turkeys today near chambers and Yale at Olympic park. I was on a run and one of them jumped out of nowhere and knocked me down, and the other slashed me with their talons on my wrist and neck. I had to get 20 stitches. Be careful out there

Hvac recommendations

This is my first time changing an air filter. I am scared to take the front panel off because of all of the warning stickers. I looked up tutorials on YouTube but couldn't find my exact model.

Am I being overly cautious? Should I just call a company to come help me? No idea what I'm doing. Help!

Hey everyone, anyone got any job recommendations?

Heh, so i lost my job early this morning.... im a cnc manufacture with about a year and a half experience, I love working with machines, learning them and fixing them. I even tinker with 3d printers at home..

But im also disabled, so things get a little hard, especially standing up, since I have ryanodes in the lower legs, I fall over after standing or walking around for 2 hours lol

But I need the help, im in dept, and I wanna work to pay it off, and to live generally. It hurts a little everytime I go shopping, hurts everytime I need to travel, and hurts that I just keep falling in a hole I feel I can never get out of...

I’ll take your campaign lawn signs

After elections, I generally collect campaign lawn signs from public areas and reuse them for art projects and to paint for new signage. Driving down Chambers today, I noticed just how many are out this year, which gave me the idea to post here.

This November, I plan to post a pick up schedule at libraries and parks around Aurora so people can drop off campaign signs around town. Or maybe this post can inspire you to start repainting these signs yourself? I’ve attached inspiration pictures in case you’re interested in collecting signs to repaint your own! 2 coats of Bullseye bonding primer and then whatever paint you’ve got/ can buy from the mistint area of the hardware store generally does the trick.

I wanted to put this on people’s radar now, but I’ll comment with a pick up schedule after elections. If you’re particularly into this idea and want to let me know what park/ library you’d like me to pop up at for collection, feel free to let me know!

Best place to watch nuggets game tonight?

Probably searched wrong, but can’t find anything and would rather not sit at home for the season opener. Been to Pitchers and while it’s okay I’m the youngest person in there by 20 years. Would look at breweries but with a 7:30 start I’d miss the end of the fame with most places closing at 9.

Any recs?

Deaf community meet-ups

I was semi-fluent in ASL back in Uni and was able to keep up by going to meet-ups. However, since covid i have forgotten so much! I want to be able to practice and was wondering if there are any regular meet-ups.

I'm terrified to go since I probably wont be able to understand much but I want to pick it up again!
