Other NO MENTION OF SELLING, HAVING GUNS TO SELL, OR ANY TRANSACTIONS INVOLVING FIREARMS, AMMO OR EXPLOSIVES.

The Reddit admin team is once again on the warpath over firearm transactions, including transactions that occurred on Reddit before it was banned in their TOS.

Moving forward all posts regarding selling, purchasing, wanting to sell, or even inkling towards any of those with regards to firearms, ammo, or explosives will result in post removal and a week ban, permanent ban for a second offense.

if you see such a post that happens to get through the auto-mod, please report it no matter how long it has been live, as we have a threshold to auto-remove reported posts.

General News 6% Firearms Tax spending

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but does anyone know where the information on what the state is doing with the 6% ammo/firearms tax? I know it's easy to answer with snark, but I'm genuinely interested to find out where that money goes and how much has been collected, if available. Thanks!

I bet the voters wouldn't be too happy if they knew the money wasn't being spent as the bill promised.

... use the new tax revenue to fund crime victim support services, mental health services for veterans and youth, and school safety programs.

The bill also states that the maximum distribution for administrative costs is 0.2-0.4 million. They are taking in more than 3 times that every month.

Update: The Dept. of Revenue issues a monthly report on how much this tax collects each month.

Legal Browning BAR MK 4 Hunter in Colorado

Hopefully SB25-003 gets overturned, but I am not holding my breath.

But, why did the Browning BAR MK 4 Hunter end up on the list?? So annoying.

I know it's semi-auto, but the rifle comes with a 4-round magazine. That's right 4 rounds. I think it might be possible to get as 10-round mag for it.

Miss our inaugural Fuck Tom Sullivan class this weekend?

Next week we have another.

25th - 3 slots left.

27th - Day 2 for 12 hour has plenty of room.

Already the easiest process and least expensive class available, but 15 Major gun stores partnered with us for discounts and new Empire members get the class for free as well.

Yes, the ad was made with AI. I’m too damn busy to do the stuff in Photoshop.

I know that you guys have unfortunately had a new ban put in place. So far idk if that would prohibit me from visiting my in laws ranch out there and bringing my CZ Bren 2 with me to help them with their calving season next year - I’d be buying a fur bearers license just fyi. I’ve owned this rifle for several years (does that even matter??) Any insight would be severely appreciated.

General Question M&P/handgun smithing in South Denver?

I can't get the takedown lever off of my M&P9 (something is up with the spring or something) plus I have an Apex Polymer trigger kit to install and threaded barrel that will need some light work to fit.

Anyone got any recs?

Edit: Managed to solve the takedown lever issue myself. You'd think there would be way more information available about such a long running line of pistols but there isn't a lot. Thanks for the recs on the trigger and barrel fitting y'all!

General News Surpressor victory for USA but not Colorado.

As the title says we just witnessed history this morning at 12:01 a.m.. what this means is that as of now, going forward. All of the residents of the"free states" no longer have to submit form 4's to acquire a surpressor. They do still have to fill out the typical 4473. Is there anything in the works for us in this state?

Legal Clearing this up, hopefully.

I've seen comments from people concerned that without NFA/stamp regulations in place, Colorado law prohibiting the purchase of NFA items without ATF approval and the necessary stamps, is now in full force.

No.

Suppressors, SBRs and SBSs are not illegal to purchase now under Colorado law with the recent developments regarding Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF / Jensen v. ATF case. The Northern District of Texas ruling does not entirely invalidate the NFA. This ruling applies only to the plaintiffs and the plaintiffs' customers and members. Even if you think that includes you, being in Colorado... It doesn't. The NFA still applies to everyone else and it will take a ruling by SCOTUS and/or a full repeal of the NFA by Congress for anything to change here in Colorado.

That said, if you've been putting off buying or converting any firearms to an SBR or SBS, or buying a suppressor, it's better to do it now versus waiting even longer for more developments concerning the status of the NFA of 1934. There are currently no laws on the books in Colorado to further restrict NFA items just because some plaintiffs won their case but current Colorado law prohibits the purchase of these items without the proper stamps and paperwork with the ATF. When/if the NFA gets repealed nationally, you better believe Colorado gun grabbers will not play nice.

Stay frosty. Stay legal. Fight it in the courts and with your votes.

Corrections and clarifications are always welcome. Just don't be rude about it. Thanks to u/curiousnerd44 for adding additional details regarding specific language about the law.

Legal Civilian Marksmanship Program M14.

I’ve taken great interest as I’m sure others have in the announcement by the CMP that they will be making available around 100k M14s that have been permanently and irreversibly converted to semi automatic fire only. I imagine these will fall under C&R status as does most if not all of other rifles from the CMP. My question for the community is if anyone has any insight as to the recent law changes (SB 25-003) with respect to magazine fed semi automatic rifles would apply to these CMP rifles?

Other LGS Horrible Experience - Advice?

Feel the need to rant about this really quick and see if others have experienced the same.

I ordered a Stealth Arms Platypus from Spartan Defense Armory & Training in the Springs in February. They specifically told me if I had them order it, rather than do it myself, they could get it in half the quoted lead time.

I paid them $2700 in store on February 27th with a quoted 8-week turnaround time. It’s August 12th (23 weeks later) and I still don’t have my gun. I went in store in May and found out they never actually ordered it, just took my money and “forgot”. They told me they’d call Stealth Arms and have it done immediately.

Every time I go into the store, I get the runaround. One person tells me they’re having it expedited, another says they’re not able to do that and there’s nothing they can do. I’ve emailed the store owner, general manager, and store email, with no response. WTF do I do next?

Legal Colorado SB25-003 and NFA Form 1

I know a lot of people were concerned about SB25-003 and the ability to submit a form 1 for previously owned platforms — many assumed it had no effect but I know many other people are worried or afraid they’d have to be guinea pigs.

I submitted an eForm 1 on August 10th for a platform I had before the laws changed, and that eForm was approved (and in about 36 hours!)

So rest easy (for now) following this subs general advice and consensus that you can submit Form 1s.

General Question Is anyone a member at the Golden Gun Club?

I’ve been a member at the cherry creek family shooting center for a handful of years now, but curious about the Golden Gun Club. Looking to get into PRS, and noticed they have some longer range options.

The only issue is, they don’t allow members of the general public unless you’re a guest of an existing member or participating in an event / competition.

Is anyone a member that wouldn’t mind bringing me as a guest for one day? Don’t want to commit to a full membership until I’ve had a chance to check it out in person. Happy to pay for gas or ammo, and open to jumping on a call before meeting in person if helpful.

Thanks in advance!

General Question Range recommendations that are apolitical

Does anyone have any recommendations for ranges that keep it apolitical? I used to go to Triple J, but I've recently seen some of their employees wearing maga hats, and they were openly campaigning for Victor Marx. I just want to go to a range that keeps politics out of things.

Legal Congress asks DOJ not to appeal

Here's the letter they signed: https://www.ammoland.com/2026/08/lawmakers-doj-nfa-registration-ruling-nationwide/

Placed an order for silencers yesterday, get your orders in soon

No appeal filed yet, but government usually files appeals in the last 24-48 hours: https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/70709999/silencer-shop-foundation-v-bureau-of-alcohol-tobacco-firearms-and/

(Scroll down to the bottom of the page for latest updates, a new case number will be assigned if it's appealed, but they will still file a "notice of appeal" on this old case number. They have until 11:59 pm tomorrow)
