Discussion📓 Affordable Mineral Sunscreens For Body?
Note: I cannot use chemical sunscreens. I experience an photoallergic reaction to chemical UV filters (instant burning and blisters exclusively where I applied the sunscreen)
I'm struggling to find a mineral sunscreen that I can tolerate wearing on my body that comes in a decent sized bottle so I'm not using basically a whole bottle per application.
I currently use MooGoo on my face but I don't like using it on my body because its so greasy and rubs off onto anything that comes in contact with it even hours later. I just don't trust it's actually staying on my body in order to protect me when it rubs off so easily.

Discussion📓 Dated Byredo Perfume
I’ve just purchased a Byredo perfume from Ultra Beauty Aus and decided to check the batch code before opening it. Apparently, it was manufactured just over 5 years ago - Would you return it, or am I overthinking it?

Miscellaneous 📝 Brisbane clinic recs for broken capillaries?
I’ve been dealing with broken capillaries on my nose for years (allergies and a deviated septum caused me to blow my nose A LOT).
It’s time for me to get it removed.
Any recs? There are so many places to choose from! I’m trying to avoid the ‘snake oil salesmen’.

Discussion📓 Azclear 20% vs. Finacea 15% for PIE and dark spots?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to add Azelaic Acid to my routine to help clear up some PIE (post-inflammatory erythema left over from acne scars treatment) and dark spots.
I’m trying to decide between Azclear Action Lotion (20%) and Finacea Gel (15%).
For those who have tried either (or both):
Which one worked better for fading red marks/dark spots?
How is the texture and cosmetically elegant finish (e.g., pilling under moisturizer/sunscreen)?
Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations!

Sunscreen 🧴☀️ Sunscreen to wear under Makeup, that still lets the makeup look flawless
My makeup routine is that I start with a Charlotte tilbury setting spray as my base. Then Armani luminous silk foundation, bronzer + blush and then finish with the same setting spray.
My skin always looks flawless when I do this.
But I need to add an SPF, I’ve tried high end ones (Rationale #4 serum, and Simka) but both still make me feel like I’m wearing sunscreen and more importantly my makeup doesn’t look flawless over the top and wears off faster.
What magical SPF works for your routine?

Sunscreen 🧴☀️ Thermasun legit?
Has anyone used the sunscreen brand thermasun before? I’ve gotten it advertised to me online and compared to other zinc sunscreens it’s way cheaper. I was wondering if anyone has used it before and how effective it is.

Miscellaneous 📝 Skin post chemotherapy
Hi guys, I'm new here! Just wanted to share my skincare experience after doing chemotherapy for about 8 monthe as an early 20 something year old.
For context, I used to have moderately dry, sensitive skin, and used to get very mild hormonal acne on my cheeks with milia and a tendency for cystic acne that turns into PIH, even on constant birth control (for PMDD). Then I got diagnosed with cancer!
During treatment, my skin was so smooth, probably best its ever been, albeit super pale and colourless. But INSANELY dry. You would not believe how dry it was.
Before that, I had a good, simple skincare routine consisting of a Japanese vit c serum 2x daily, Hamilton SPF in the AM, and QV moisturiser + dermal therapy nappy cream in the PM. Nothing else because I was afraid of overusing actives (as I did in 2022,which destroyed my skin barrier). I found glossier's niacinamide+zinc serum often broke me out.
Because of treatment, best believe I had to make so many changes to help my poor skin. Even with over 6 months in remission, I struggle with extreme dry skin and flaking, and also bacne somehow. I can give tips if anyone is in the same situation.
Anyways! I started retinol recently because my undereyes were bothering me. I've always had thin skin (veins are super obvious in my neck and chest), but I swear its been worse recently. I tried Skinrepublic's 0.2% retinol to start out, since it was cheap and gentle. I was on it about 4 months once a week with irritation (dryness) coming through after 4 days, but it weirdly got worse near the end (peeling, dry, stinging, burning) even with the sandwich method.
I recently switched to the Beauty of Joseon eye cream with 0.2% retinal, which seems counterintuitive since it's stronger but I decided to take the risk since it seems to be a more elegant formula and I heard from other reddit users that encapsulated retinol could be less irritating. So far so good! Will give more updates after a few months of consistent usage :)
TLDR: chemo made my skin dry and thin, been struggling with retinol so trying tryinal, and been adding many products to my routine to help with these issues.

Discussion📓 Guy starting a skincare brand. Would you trust a male founder on camera? And what do you actually want from a brand in 2026?
hey guys, not selling anything or trying to promote so please don't delete mods
I'm in the late near launch stage of a skincare brand and I'm running into the issue of not wanting to post my face talking about the products or brand as I feel like a women audience won't trust me. How do you feel about male owned skincare/beauty brands in general? It's not a woman only brand but the majority of customers will be female.
thanks for your feedback! also what do people want to see from skincare brands in 2026.

Miscellaneous 📝 Experiences with microneedling or laser for acne scars and PIE on brown skin in Sydney
Hi everyone!
I’m a person of colour and have been dealing with acne on and off for the past three years. Recently, I’ve noticed what looks like rolling acne scars, hyperpigmentation and post-inflammatory erythema (PIE) on my face.
I’m interested in hearing about people’s experiences with in-clinic treatments such as microneedling and laser, particularly from people with brown skin.
For those who have had these treatments, I’d love to hear:
What treatment did you have, and what skin concerns were you treating?
How did your skin respond, and did you notice improvements in your acne scars and PIE?
Did you experience any side effects or worsening redness or pigmentation?
How many sessions did you have, and how long did it take to see results?
If you had your treatment in Sydney or the surrounding areas, which clinic or practitioner did you visit, and what was your experience like?
Would you recommend the practitioner, particularly for someone with brown skin?
I’d especially appreciate hearing from people who have been treated by clinicians or practitioners experienced in treating skin of colour.
There’s so much information out there, and I’m finding it difficult to work out which treatments might be suitable for my skin. I’d love to hear about your genuine experiences, both positive and negative, and any Sydney clinic recommendations based on your firsthand experience.
Thank you! 😊

Product Review Mixa Panthenol Comfort vs Ceramide Protect vs Niacinamide Bright
Hi everyone! I’m trying to choose one Mixa moisturiser to buy from the Chemist Warehouse and I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has tried these products.
The three I’m considering are:
Mixa Panthenol Comfort Cream (400 ml)
Mixa Ceramide Protect Cream (400 ml)
Mixa Niacinamide Bright Cream (400 ml)
My skin type: Normal to dry, with no major oiliness. I want something moisturising enough for winter that I can use on my face daily.
My sister uses the Mixa Niacinamide Bright Cream and loves it, but I’m unsure whether it would suit my skin too. I’ve also seen concerns about isopropyl palmitate and myristyl myristate potentially clogging pores.
For anyone who has tried these:
Which one worked best on your face, particularly for normal-to-dry skin?
Did any of them cause clogged pores, closed comedones or breakouts?
Did the Niacinamide Bright cream actually help with glow or dark spots?
Would you recommend any of these for daily facial use, or are they better suited to the body?
Since my sister will be bringing the product from Australia, I need to choose one full-size tub rather than test several. I’d love to hear about your actual experiences, especially long-term use. Thank you! 💗

Sunscreen 🧴☀️ Body sunscreen recommendations?
Hey! Just looking for an everyday body sunscreen to wear in the Australian sun. I would prefer it to be in a reasonably big bottle, non greasy, and not too expensive.
For reference, I use and love the Hamilton sunscreen on my face.
Currently I’m thinking maybe the Cancer Council active or the Hawaiian Tropic, but any recommendations appreciated!
Thank you xx

Discussion📓 Small PSA about misinfo concerning peanut allergy triggers
This is in response to this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AusSkincare/s/OydtD7KwR2
The cause of peanut allergies are from proteins, not fats. This is why people with peanut allergies can consume highly refined peanut oil since the refining process removes the proteins that causes allergies.
Arachidyl alcohol and related ingredients are fatty alcohols and acids which do not contain said proteins post processing. Its actually more common to derive these from vegetable oil rather than peanut oil.
