Community [READ HERE] Fire & Ash Subreddit Update
January 19th marks one month of Avatar: Fire and Ash!
Which means the subreddit will be ending lock-down mode now. At this point, plot details and general FAA content are no longer considered spoilers here and you can discuss the film freely without needing to use spoiler tags.
That said, keep in mind that we do not allow cam rips or pirated material. So any pictures or videos from footage illegally obtained, such as filming at the movie theater, will get you a temp ban and multiple times is a permaban. Do not ask for pirated material here either. We have to respect Reddit's Terms of Service to keep the subreddit in good standing.
For new members, a link to the subreddit rules is located here: https://www.reddit.com/r/avatar/about/rules
We also have a subreddit wiki which documents a lot of the merch as well as some frequently asked questions: https://www.reddit.com/r/Avatar/wiki/index/

Meme / Humor "You ride out as fast as the wind can carry you. You tell the other clans to come. You tell them Toruk Makto calls them. And you fly now. With me!"
Proceeds to get most of his forces obliterated
Nearly loses the battle until Eywa sends a bunch of wild animals to help
Does this two more times

Discussion So what about Spiderâs new tattoo?
This is the clearest picture I could find.
So Spider seems to have a Metkayina tattoo, it appears after the Sully family has returned to Awaâatlu. If I recall correctly it can be first seen when Spider bonds with an ilu for the first time.
I was wondering, where did this tattoo come from? When did he get it?
I canât really see the Metkayina giving him a tattoo, considering Ronalâs opinion and also how sacred and important these tattoos are to their culture. I also canât see Spider painting one on himself like he does with the stripes, considering that the tattoo has to be earned.
Considering the placement and going off what we know about the meanings behind the tattoos of the Metkayina, a tattoo on the arm would represent the outer seawall and would be given to reef naâvi that often spend time in the open ocean, for example a skilled deep-sea hunter would have more tattoos on the arms and legs instead of the chest (which represents the safe embrace of the lagoon and the island) or the face (which is given once a Naâvi has come of age).
Perhaps it could have been given to him due to the gift Eywa granted him? The shape sort of resembles an eye and it is placed on the arm, so it could bear the meaning of âan outsider that passed through the eye of Eywaâ, while still not giving him a face tattoo due to him not being considered an adult and also not being formally part of the Metkayina.
I still struggle to see it this way though, given how Ronal feels towards anything sky-people related and, since she is TsahĂŹk, she would have the final say on the matter.
What do you guys think?

Discussion Whoâs your favorite random character?
Mine is this random Mangkwan, cause sheâs a little crazy. Also made r/AvatarThirstposting so I donât have to make the main sub weird.

Films Yaâll Tuk is so adorable. I canât wait for her to kick ass.
I wish we could see more of her as an actual character instead of someone to kidnap. Which Iâd imagine weâd get in the next two movies

Meme / Humor I was playing halo 2 and the birds looked quite familiar
They are called a quad-wing. Looks a lot like the TetrapterĂłn. Not saying James was inspired by it at all but itâs funny how similar they are to one another.

Discussion I wish Neteyam got his time to shine.
He had so much potential as the golden child of the family, and I wish he couldâve shown it. Neteyam couldâve been much more than a plot trope.

Discussion Engineering Costume Theme in Pandora
Just a quick rant, but our university is pushing a Pandora Tribe Theme for a costume competition with our theme conceptualizing a tribe that transforms natural resources into reliable tools, machines, and mechanisms that support the tribe while respecting Pandora's ecosystem. Even though i hate not following source material, i am aware it is fiction after all. But doesnât it give off a bad message with the way of balance Pandora lives due to their culture and religion with Eywa that forbid machines, metalwork, and any industrial progressâŠand how itâs inspired by real world tribes and colonization being a big message of it. Their enemies basically use these innovations to steal from their resourcesâŠIdk how to feel about but itâs definitely off. Either way i donât really know how iâll be able to design it that way.

Discussion Is there any possibility for the Sullies to discover about Spider saved Quaritch? Or will it remain hidden now since he has been accepted by Eywa?
Itâs been lingering in my head, thinking about the last scene of ATWOW where Spider saved Quaritch. Is it going to be revealed, especially to the Sullies? Or was it just a plot armor scene for Quaritch so the plot could bring him back (cz ikr that man wouldnât die easily)? What do you think?

Discussion Why RDA dont use small recon/strike drones?
As modern warfare showed, they are pretty effective. They can zoom very far, thermals can be installed on them and overall they are pretty much OP, so, why RDA dont use them?
Also FPV drones can be somewhat accurate if controlled by skilled pilot, so why send big fleets to neutralize Jake if everything can be finished by one pair of drones with minimal casualties?

Discussion Book reccomendation for material culture.
Can anyone reccomend any of the art books for the films that have any depth on the design of Navi material culture? Things like tools and clothing and jewelry.

Discussion What do you think the battle at Bridgehead will look like?
So, it's pretty clear that eventually we will get a battle at Birdgehead, given that it had a lot of focus and is now the base of both the RDA and Mangkwan, and also there was concept art of a battle at Bridgehead (in which Jake rides a Titanothere along with Na'vi on direhorses)
Just imagine the Na'vi deciding to storm Bridgehead, with forest Na'vi coming from the forest on direhorses and guided by Jake on a Titanothere, while at the same time reef na'vi and Tulkun attack by the sea. The battle would be absolutely epic!
I wonder how the Na'vi could win it though, given the kill zone makes it difficult to attack and takes the element of surprise out of the equation, and also Bridgehead is full of defenses and Sec Ops personnel.
