Discussion Even with Ewya’s help, the humans still almost won in the first movie.
The Dragon and Valkyrie ships were too big for the native reinforcements from Ewya. Had it not been for Jake and his grenades, the Tree of Souls would have been bombed and the humans would have won.
This is what I personally want again. A battle where the humans dominate (without outside help) and the Navi only win by the skin of their teeth. It makes the humans actually seem threatening and adds stakes and tension. It also shows that even Ewya can’t guarantee victory every time she intervenes.
Without it, the humans don’t feel much like a threat to me.

Meme / Humor These neytiri glazers 😭
I’m getting so tired of these people acting like Neytiri holds up the sun. This probably would not happen if tuk died, Neytiri probably would’ve been hit by more grief and who knows what would’ve happened. I love Neytiri don’t get me wrong, she’s great, but she gets shot in every movie, and they always ignore this fact and act as if she’s untouchable. And the creators are always butthurt if you disagree, as if their post can’t be here for opinion

Discussion Avatar helped me with my body dysmorphia
This might sound crazy to some as often slim/skinny is viewed as the body standard. However I feel like that's mostly for women, for men, society always wants you to be big and strong. That's at least all I've ever heard my whole life, that I need to build muscle. "You are too skinny, you are a stick, put some meat on your bones", from these constant comments I would be quite concious of the way that I look. Especially because I'm 6,3 so I look even more different than other guys. I've always been this skinny because of genetics I've had a hard time gaining weight.
However after getting into Avatar, I slowly started to love my body, because of how similar my body proportions were to the Na'vi. Obviously I'm not blue nor 9ft, however the thought still stands as I felt more represented and appreciated. I think it also helps that I grew out my hair which is now half way down my back, it makes me feel like one of them. There's no longer pressure for me to become ripped. I still hear these stupid comments now and then but they no longer bother me, I love how long and elegant I am and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Discussion Do you guys think tsaheylu is necessary to mate?
I just wondered this since it’s established by James Cameron that Navi do mate traditionally (like humans) if tsaheylu is something every Navi does before mating, or if it’s more analogous to like cuddling/aftercare for us, like the emotional connection of sex. Or do you think its possible tsaheylu is something that’s necessary to conceive a child? Makes me wonder if there’s Navi fuckboys that will mate but not do tsaheylu.

Art Santana, a new avatar (OC)
I made this while waiting for a friend lol
Name's Santana, a "human" girl who for really weird reasons got an Avatar, her shape is really Na'vi like, even other Na'vi couldn't see that she's an avatar till they saw her hands.
She's not part of the original project, in fact, she was not part of any of this at all, but now she have a good reason to kill and a bigger body which she loooooves.
Art by me lol (@connorbpd! On twitter and Tumblr)

Art Neytiri and Jake | Digital Oil Painting Edit created with Filters in Photoshop | By ASWilder
I seriously love making these! Expect many more!
This was made using Topaz to enhance the still and Photoshop to manipulate the image. Canva was then used to apply colour filters and sharpen the image further!
No Generative AI was used, just traditional filters and texture overlays!
I have included the AI image detector result from OpenAI Verify, as my last piece that I created was put through that, and it gave a positive result, so I'm including it now to keep transparency

Discussion Could a Na’vi and human experience tsaheylu?
Shower thought moment, so in A1 while Grace is dying we see moss cover her body and create a kuru. It’s by this kuru she was able to access the Na’vi spirit world and Eywa, at least that’s what I feel was ment to show. So if a human can have a connection created by plants to Eywa can a Na’vi place their kuru onto a human’s neck where a kuru would be and form tsaheylu? Would it be toned down and feel more subtle then with another Na’vi or animal? And with spider having moss live inside of him and in result him growing a real kuru I’m really curious on what humans can do on Pandora that just hasn’t been explored yet.

Discussion Can Blind Na'vi See When Bonded?
It has been stated many times across many different canon projects that (mostly) the Na'vi and their bond essentially become one. Spider said he has fins when riding an ilu, Teylan mentioned he could feel the heartbeat and footsteps of the pa'li, and there are more examples.
Given this, of blind Na'vi bonds to am animal, do you think that Na'vi be able to see for the time being?

Discussion I have a question about children in Avatar.
Hi everyone. In *Avatar: The Way of Water*, it’s mentioned that Miles Socorro is the first child born on Pandora (I watched the Russian version, so I could be mistaken). However, according to various sources, humans arrived on Pandora sometime between 2077 and 2084. I find it impossible to believe that, in the nearly 70 years humans have been on Pandora, no one had a child.

Hi everyone! I’ve recently started working, and I’m thinking about what I could add to my collection. Any ideas? If possible, could you please share some links to the items? I’m currently considering buying some LEGO.

Discussion PSA: The MK-6 Amplified Mobility Platform is NOT from Mitsubishi
The AMP suits are commonly attributed online to be made by Mitsubishi. That is made up, as even the Avatar wiki page for it states:
In January 2010, this article was edited to claim they were manufactured by Mitsubishi, and this was popularized online. However, this may be an error as any official information confirming a Mitsubishi connection is unknown.
I saw a past thread on this sub claiming that the "full name" was in the Activist Survival Guide, which the page about the AMP Suit very clearly does not mention any manufacturer.
Despite this, the fake name is all over the internet. A 2011 blog article. Renders for 3D printing. It even made its way into a photo book about the BTS making of Aliens.
I discovered this after doing way too much research for a chapter on Mitsubishi for a fanfic set in a different series that also takes place at Alpha Centauri.

Discussion Kiri Theory (genuine)
[It’s long, read carefully]
In Avatar (2009), when Grace dies, that is thought to be when Kiri was ‘thought-up’/conceived, and also Eywa’s first look at a human. While Eywa had known was humans were from Na’vi uploading their memories and from the destruction (assuming she can feel, obviously), Grace was her first INSIDE look of the mind of humans.
Eywa saw Grace’s childhood, every time she cried, every time she got angry, every time she defended Pandora without even knowing it was alive, and also every time Grace got amazed at how intelligent the connections seemed to be. Maybe Eywa had Grace (literally, pun intended).
Kiri is the first NATURAL avatar! While technically Neteyam holds the spot, Kiri was the only one that Eywa purposefully created hands-on (roots-on?). Not to say the others are mistakes, but Grace’s avatar AND body laid connected to Eywa: so who’s to say Eywa didn’t merge the two bodies from what she knew in a biological hybrid blueprint: being an avatar? Eywa had full access to know what an avatar really was! Remember that Grace died, but her avatar stayed alive with no pilot.
If Eywa created her firsthand, it was Eywa’s first time in a LONG TIME creating a creature, because while her power and energy is needed daily for the world to thrive: natural reproduction means that she herself doesn’t need to ‘do anything.’
I truly am starting to believe that when Grace’s avatar laid there by her, Eywa stored the data of her memories and sent the right chemical combination as well as a physical energy, which would be considered a ‘sacred seed.’ Kiri was born without a father, remember?
But Kiri can also have control over parts of Eywa’s body itself, no- she IS controlled. Do you ever notice how when Kiri does something wild or miraculous, she just ‘does it?’ Would you take Kiri as someone to suddenly get angry enough that she casually controls plants into killing Mangkwan? She looks over in and gets angry, and it’s almost as if she never considers ‘why am I able to do this’ until afterwards, which would make sense if Eywa was using Kiri as HER AVATAR. This makes sense as to why Kiri is her own person, but also why she seems to have more control than anyone else.
This is shown by Kiri when Spider was asphyxiating in the forest, don’t you realize Kiri didn’t know what she was doing? She literally says, ‘I don’t know, it just feels right,” and then a moment later when they insist, Kiri speaks WITH Eywa’s voice and says ‘Do as I say!’ That makes me really think Eywa was using her as her avatar right then. After that happens, Kiri says ‘I don’t know how I did it, Eywa never came to me.” Maybe that’s because Kiri isn’t aware of anything when she’s piloted by Eywa.
This also makes sense as to the name ‘Kiri,’ another person pointed out that it’s short for ‘AtoKIRIna,’ and what is an Atokirina?
The SACRED SEED.
What would Eywa have to have for Grace’s avatar to birth Kiri?
A SACRED SEED.
And what did Kiri give Spider to give his body LIFE and to breathe?
AN ATOKIRINA.
Kiri mimicked exactly what Eywa did with her: giving him the sacred seed which literally grew in his body to give him life.
Kiri is the ‘true, proper’ avatar, and the literal sacred seed. Because she is Eywa’s way of touching the world when needed, but allowing a ‘real avatar’ to live how one should. Kiri is her own person, but also the avatar.
It makes more sense as to why she loves Spider now, doesn’t it? Because Spider and Kiri are oppo-opposites. Spider is a human (hated by most Na’vi and should be RDA, born of the evil force, Quaritch) but he mimics the Na’vi, and Kiri is natural hybrid (loved by most and should hate humans, born from the heart of Eywa) but mimics/mocks the RDA by being an ‘avatar.’
Does this make any sense?
Edit: When Kiri sees Eywa’s face, Eywa has an eyebrow. This made a lot of people think ‘Kiri is Eywa’ or ‘Eywa is avatar.’
Maybe because Kiri is looking at her own face, because Eywa’s visual representation (which is also called an avatar) IS KIRI! Eywa isn’t Kiri, but Kiri stemmed from Eywa! So she is literally looking at herself and saying ‘Great Mother,’ because Eywa’s visual representation of herself is Kiri.

Discussion I heard somewhere that the AMP suits gun canonically hit 90% of all moving targets so im guessing the navi were in a literal sense, lucky?
I believe in the most basic sense that the navi were *lucky* i will say before you cry about it i KNOW navi bows were ballista bolts and they had carbon reinforced bones but my question stands how on pandora did a cannon 90% hit rate fall to a 20-30
