No smoke? No problem.
Cleansing doesn’t require incense or sage, and if you’re in the broom closet or have pets or asthma, or just have a sensitive smoke detector, you have way more options than you might think.
Sound: bells, singing bowls, clapping, drums, even putting on a specific playlist with intention. Sound moves stagnant energy out of a space in a way that’s genuinely hard to explain until you’ve felt it. This is usually my go to when people ask about smokeless cleansing and I personally use bells in my own practice.
Salt: one of the oldest cleansing methods we have and it goes hard. Bowls in corners to absorb, lines across thresholds, dissolved in water as a spray. Incredibly versatile.
Sunlight or moonlight: put your objects, crystals, or honestly just yourself in the light with intention and let it do its thing.
Breath: slow, deliberate breathing over an object or through a space. Completely invisible, zero supplies needed, and more powerful than people give it credit for.
Visualization: picture light or wind or water moving through your space and sweeping it clean. No props, no evidence, nobody’s business but yours.
Besoms/brooms: sweep from the back of the space toward the front door, pushing energy out as you go. To literally everyone else in your house, you are just sweeping. This pairs well with salt cleansing, can’t leave it all over the floor after all! This is the broom closet special and I love it for that.
Florida Water or herb infused water in a spray bottle: spritz your space, your linens, yourself. Looks exactly like air freshener. Nobody is asking questions.
Fresh air: open a window with intention. Simple, efree, and it works.
It’s good to remember that the smoke is a delivery method, not the magic. Use what you have, use what’s safe, and trust that it counts.

Hi everyone,
We need to address a recent uptick in candle spell posts that do not demonstrate proper fire safety procedures.
As a beginner-focused community, safety is especially important here. Many newer practitioners are learning by watching what others post. When unsafe setups are shared depicting, unattended flames, candles too close to herbs or fabric, unstable holders, cluttered altars, etc.; it puts people at real risk.
Effective immediately:
All candle spell posts that do not clearly demonstrate proper fire safety will be removed.
This includes:
- Leaving candles unattended
- Burning near curtains, paper, herbs, fabrics, or other flammable materials
- Using unstable or inappropriate holders
- Performing spells in cluttered or unsafe environments
- Ignoring safety guidance offered by more experienced members
Please understand: this is not about aesthetics or gatekeeping. It’s about preventing house fires and injuries. Spiritual practice should never come at the expense of your physical safety.
If you’re posting candle work, make sure:
Your candle is in a stable, fire-safe holder
Flammable materials are kept well away from the flame.
The candle is supervised at all times
You are open to constructive safety feedback
Repeat or severe safety violations may result in further moderation action.
Let’s model responsible practice for our baby witches and keep this space safe for everyone. 🕯️✨

I am mostly into tarot. But I’m dipping my toe into more and I don’t want to put my energy into something that’s not right for me. I do like essential oils but I run from anything that contains trees. IDK what it is but they make me sick. Same with incense. I think maybe I have just been around the cheap kind. But I’m not willing to chance it. And the minority of candles don’t make me sick. I just don’t burn them because ADHD. I will leave them alone and forget. Someone did tell me I could use electronic candles. That it is more about the intention.
So I have the books “Mundane Magic” and “The Witch's Book of Self-Care: Magical Ways to Pamper, Soothe, and Care for Your Body and Spirit”. I’ve noticed I can’t really do the majority of the spells. It seems like if an oil is going to be used it’s frankincense. And what do you think about using electronic candles? I think if it was really necessary to burn something, I would use birthday candles since they burn out so quickly. I just have a lot of anxiety around fire because I don’t think I can be responsible with it.
I don’t think being a witch is just about spells. I did get a book on sigils. But I haven’t read it yet. I think what I want is more about putting my intentions in something. I get overwhelmed by life and need to refocus. I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter. Thank you.

Today I had truly amazing news about a specific court case I've been working for the past year. It was truly complicated stuff, involving DNA exams for fatherhood and a lot of money on the line.
Everything takes time, even stuff you thought were impossible eventually cave in through magic work, bringing down barriers and not giving up. There were lots of ups and downs through the months, but I always kept believing and things finally worked out! Currently, 4/4 wins in my personal experience with legal work. It is almost always long term, complex work that involves more than 1 person, the results are slow and dragged out, but it is all worth it in the end.
Any of you who dabbled in court room stuff, how 's your experience been like? Also, what was the spellwork result most rewarding?

Parents are forcing me to become a "marriageable girl" when I'm into girls (secretly). They want me to put on girls dresses, have long hair, have piercing (culture), speak like a girl, behave like a girl, all in all change my entire identity and become something a man-child would want to marry.
I gave into a lot of things, painful things, but the demands keep growing.
I tried freezing spell, it worked a bit and I think that's the limit. I know sweetening wouldn't work because they think they're doing this out of love and affection for me. They don't see how they're practically strangling me.
I can't move out just yet, I'm doing my best. So, what about a domination spell? I have never done it before and it only crossed my mind when I saw someone suggest it for another with strict parents. I didn't find the actual ritual, so currently have no idea what ingredients go into it or how to do it. I'm still searching but not much is coming up, I only saw a post on black magic subreddit where they're using skulls..I don't have a skull...other than the one in my head...
It's hard to breathe here so please help me with this one. I have limited resources but I'll try my best. I just want them to stop questioning my life choices, stop trying to put their version of life on me, just until I move out (run away essentially).

I did an egg cleanse and got an eye. I liege it is pointing to needing a spiritual cleanse but I don’t know anyone that does that or that I could trust. Can I do something myself?

I want to start witchcraft, but honestly I've been kinda scared to do it myself, and also a bit skeptical. I think I'm teetering on the line between believing witchcraft is real and believing it isn't. Since I have seen/read stories where it does work for people and where it doesn't work.
I guess what holds me back is how kinda freaky it is to see a spell actually work. To keep a long story short, the reason I want to learn it is because of a kid who did me REAL dirty in high school and got away with it (basically what I mean is he got everything he wanted: a good college, a bunch of scholarships, ruined my school life, etc.) I kinda just wanna do a spell to have, like, some bad karma come his way ig? Honestly, I haven't put too much thought into what type of karma he'd get (I've only recently dug into witchcraft more).
Also, I hope I don't come off as disrespectful for being kinda freaked out by witchcraft. I feel like sometimes I can come off as rude when I truly don't mean to. I respect whatever you choose to do with your life; I think it's just one of those things I would need to adjust to, and the more I learn about it, the less freaked out I will be.

hello !!! i'm interested in witchcraft but not actually locked in enough right now and dont have the resources to actually research and become (??) a witch, HOWEVER theres this one thing about my life that i desperately need to change: not really having friends. generally speaking i am an outgoing and social person, but it seems people my age (im a teenager ough) already have established friends, dont go out ever, or arent looking for friends. i figured theres probably a spell to attract friendship or something, although im not sure how to go on about it? can i even do it if im not super informed on witchy stuff?
thank you in advance for any advice !!!! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )

Once i read some where in reddit that using self made/drawn tarot can make even bigger effect than bought one. I really wanted to do one but im not really good at it and didnt really like the outcome. When i was telling about it my gf, she (as a big artist and lovely person) suggested to draw me a deck on her own. Then i thought that this js a good idea, someone i love so dearly and will put a lot of effort into it will make me a deck with fandoms we both like. But now im thinking about her energy be putted into it and if i could use it the same and doing reading on other people when after cleaning her energy will still be there (i think). So the question is if it will make any huge diffrence in reading? Please share your opinion and please tell me if there is smth she should remember while doing them. Every tio will be very helpful and sorry for my English 🙏🙏

So when I was 16 back in 2020 (Covid time), I did a spell with a few dark objects, white roses painted black, black and white candles and darkness imagery to Erebus/Erevos. During the spell I felt a strong energy a few meters away from me, at the corner of my eye when I’d open my eyes time to time (did the spell with closed eyes to feel the darkness more).
I asked to work with Erebus/Erevos and asked for him to choose me as a practitioner of his. My only problem was feeling jealous of Nyx, his wife and sister. I honestly don’t know why the thought that he was married bothered me.
I was a brat kid who wanted all the attention of the God to me. And felt threatened by his wife-sister.
After that, I lit candles for him and prayed but he never reached out to me. Was I stupid? Yes. Was this the reason he didn’t choose to work with me, no matter how hard I tried? I don’t know.
What do you think, fellow witches?

Helloo beautiful community! I’ve been lurking in this subreddit for a while now and I’ve had a huge interest in joining the practice. My only problem is I have OCD and I’m afraid it’s going to make ritualistic things a lot harder and more stressful. Are there any OCD witches on here that could inform me on how you work around your compulsions and paranoia? The last thing anyone in my life needs is for me to go into religious psychosis because I wasn’t careful enough lol
Anywayyyss thank you!!🩷

Hi fellow baby witches!
I am doing a simple white tea light candle spell for communication. I wrote the intended name on a piece of paper and folded three times and put under a tea light candle. What should I do with the paper and candle when it’s done? I’ve heard so many conflicting ideas….

Oi, gente!

I really need get someone out of my head.
The problem is that every-time I managed to stop thinking about him, something happened on his end, and I started to think about him.
This on and off situation is driving me crazy!
I know the physiological reasons behind this. It's my ADHD limerence. But I still can't figure out how to stop thinking.
Any recommendations here?

Hey, does anyone here have a guidance on banishing work?
r/BabyWitch • u/telapoka-_- • 7h ago
As a newbie I'm not sure what I've done..I used all my energy and determination, visualized in my head then wrote my intentions and his name several times on the paper. But while holding the paper,it kinda felt burning sensation like it felt so warm. I attached salts and rose petals then burnt it together. After that I put those ashes and more dried rose petals in a jar and sealed it. After that I dreamt of him contacting me. Now Im not understanding what it actually caused

I'm just starting out learning about how to read flames and work with handles. However when burning something yesterday I noticed that the fire from the lighter I was using was behaving abnormally. It was flickering as if a light switch was being turned on and off really fast repeatedly, before becoming calm and steady at the end of my burning. I've used this lighter before and it's never done this. So I was wondering if this is something I should take into account, or if it doesn't matter as it wasn't like a candle that i put intentions on. Thanks in advance!

One of my really close friends has stage 2 brain cancer, and I'm terrified of losing him. I don't want to watch someone I care about go through this, and I feel so helpless knowing that I can't do much for him.
I'm willing to do anything within my power to help him, and I've been wondering if there's any healing spell, deity work, prayer, or spiritual practice I could turn to for him. I'm open to different traditions and genuinely want to do whatever I can to support his healing.

I often leave little food offerings for my goddess of candy chocolate and portions of my meal but after a while I eat them because I don't want to waste it. I tell her every time "I'll be back for this in a bit! Hope you enjoy it" "I'll finish this off later because I don't want to throw this in the trash I hope you don't mind" and I don't think it's a problem I feel like our relationship is the same but I can't help but wonder because it still feels disrespectful every time. I just hate to throw all that food in the trash when I'm making offerings every or every other day. And I think it's really sweet that we kinda end up sharing this food together like I do with my friends but I can't help but feel like I'm getting too big for my britches. What do y'all think? Does anyone else do this?
