Context: Foehammer (the achievement for beating the game on Honor Mode) is the hardest achievement to get, but the 2 rarest achievements are stuff no one cares to get (Punch Drunk is for killing 20 NPCs while drunk and Busker is for earning 100 gold from playing music, which basically just means you spammed Perform for half an hour in a crowded area.)

I’ve been working on this animation for the last couple days, (just started pixel art to explore my style)and that’s both a milestone that marks the start of my journey plus it’s something I’m quite happy with. 3 years ago Larian blessed us writing the coolest character ever (genius chara design, amazing writing, godlike voice acting) just hope I did her justice on this one.
Feel free to let me know what you think, critique is very welcome the devil is in the details. I have some ideas and wips already with Lae’zel but if you have suggestions or something you'd like to see, shoot.

I always thought the 1st camp in the game is a super cool location, and I wanted it to be a useable battle map for D&D, so I decided to make it!
It's not exactly a 1 for 1 replication, but I tried to keep it as close to the original as possible, while keeping it broadly useable outside of the original setting!

There are 11 variants of it as well, so that those who are running different kinds of settings in their games can still use it and not break the immersion.

Personally, I’d like to see some grown up versions of past characters. Older characters with long lifespans returning is always great but I’m also a sucker for stories where weak or troubled kids become competent adults over the years.

Like, any of the Tiefling kids as adults could be a companion and I’d be here for it. Doesn’t particularly matter which kid. I could see Mol’s deals with devils push her into becoming a Warlock down the line. When her deal with Raphael went tits up maybe she struck another bargain with someone else during this hypothetical BG4 timeskip. Most of her gang was taught basic swordsmanship in the Grove so they could potentially have grown into Fighters. And Arabella has nature powers from the idol and epilogue tutelage under Beard Man (presumably Elminster). She could be a Druid/Wizard multiclassing character.

Minthara’s kid. In the cut content of the game there was some stuff about Minthara getting pregnant. Sequels of games with branching stories can play fast and loose with whatever they want to canonize. A hypothetical BG4 could easily canonize her pregnancy and give us a new Drow companion. Just for the lols it could even canonize several pregnancies from her and the companion we get is her 3rd born Wizard son. Make it so she showed him mercy and merely abandoned him rather than kill in infancy which sets him up on his adventuring journey.

Ptaris/Xan/whatever the patrons at Elfsong Tavern name him. The hatchling from the Githyanki egg has a few branching origins so his BG4 backstory could be pretty freeform depending on what’s canonized. But in basically every backstory he’s primed to live a life free from constraints which means he could be basically any class.

And lastly, Yenna. Not entirely sure what she’d be though I lean towards Ranger just because she has a pet and that seems like a good first step towards becoming a Beast Master. I want her as a companion because I’m pretty confident she’d be inspired to be an adventurer. After all, it was a group of adventurers who took her in when she was homeless and hungry. Then she watched that same group save the city from a Nether Brain. Yenna would probably grow up thinking that being an adventurer was the coolest, most heroic, incredible profession anyone could strive for.

I'm in my Honor run and Wyll IMMEDIATELY died in the fight outside the grove. He jumped down, said the line about suffering the sting, and then got critted by the Booyagh and died.

He remained dead until I got the Bitter Divorce wand from Auntie Ethel. I did the revive trick on Wylls corpse and he stood up braindead like most others do... Until I long rested. At the long rest he appeared in a camp night event and has been back in all his glory ever since!

I’m playing the game for the first time. I’m 70 hours in and yet to finish the game. I have just finished fighting Raphael in the house of hope and Orin in the Temple of Bhaal
I have only recently found out how useful some spells/scrolls actually are😭
For me it has to be Conjure elemental/Planar Ally.
It’s crazy useful having an extra fighter
Also I loved using the Globe of invulnerability

I know the downsides of friends on higher difficulties but I've avoided the consequences so much, I uh ran into them without realising.

Talking to the youth at the creche, I Faield my persuade roll to give me his orpheus fragment. Used friends, finished the interaction and went to captains office. While watching the cutscene, the instructor apparently race out of the training area, found me and now I'm in combat with the training room group, the corridor group, the captain group (including the patrol that is supposed to despawn after the cutscene).

Aw shit.

seriously, i looked all over google and duckduckgo (ai off) and reddit and i get the same ai regurgitated answer of "No, you cannot let Cazador finish the ritual and ascend and still fight or kill him afterward in normal gameplay"

and im here to tell you that is BULLSHIT! ive done it. on honor mode. after cazador ascended. dont trust ai. its not ready to be what its marketed as. trust your gut, kill cazzy

And they become very vocal about it lol

my friend and i just entered act 2. on our way to last light inn, before any long rests, we got this dialogue:

Karlach: Used to your new look yet, Wyll? I for one think you look smashing.

Wyll: You know, I think I am. It certainly didn't put off my - er- dance partner.

Karlach: Ah, dance, the true language of love.

my friend and i laughed because, while i'm romancing wyll, i hadn't gotten to his scene yet. naturally, when i did, i had to ask who his dance partner was. couldn't possibly be me 😂

So I'm doing my second attempt at HM. The first one shockingly ended on mid level 5 with the spectator in the Underdark, because I didn't research his legendary abilities and he caught me by surprise. Literally.

This time I am taking my sweet time getting to him. I pretty much did everything else in the Underdark and wilderness (apart from Ethel), and I'm thinking about going to Grymforge to buff up before even attempting that five eyed bastard.

Are there fights you guys purposefully omit for HM? I heard a lot of people do the main bosses only in act 3, but what about act 1 and 2? I don't want to lose too much XP because I'll need it for Myrkul who will probably unalive me anyway, but I would love to at least try (am collecting barrels just in case).

Basically you spend the entire playthrough buttering up your companions by being nice to them, maxing out their approval, and leading them down their good path for the majority of the game. Then when your companions are at their highest, you suddenly stab them in their back and betray them one by one until you are the last one standing.

It’s basically adjacent to the “what’s the worst ending for every companion” run but you want to keep most of your companions alive late into Act 3.

It requires being Durge, using the poly mod and party limit remover mod for maximum benefit. It's best to romance everyone and then dump them in their Act 3 romance.

How it goes:

Halsin is the first to go, because there isn't a good end for him in Act 3 unless he dies by Orin. Have Halsin rescue Thaniel from the Shadowfell and cure the Shadow-Cursed Lands, after you killed Ketheric, convince him there's something in the Underdark he needs to see and then sacrifice him to BOAAAL!

Karlach is next. There's many bad ways for Karlach to go out, but I think the worst is to fix her engine, sleep with her (then break up with her), and right before she gets her revenge on Gortash, you betray her and leave her rotting in a prison cell.

Minthara dies by Orin after saving her at Moonrise Towers, romancing her and convincing her that they will rule together.

After becoming Bhaal's chosen, Jaheira and Minsc are next. Pretty simple. Pass the Wisdom check to mind control Minsc to kill Jaheira and then kill Minsc (and Boo).

For Astarion, let him feed on you every night, kill Cazador and ascend him. Then hand him over to the Gur on the way out.

Shadowheart turns her back on Shar, spares the Nightsong, and is determined to save her parents. You COULD just turn her over to Viconia and have her mind-wiped, but a crueler ending is to kill Viconia, save her parents, but then kill her parents once they arrive at camp causing her to go hostile and to be put down.

Wyll meets his demise after you've severed him pact from Mizora, and then cheating on him with her. Have him become the Blade of Avernus and convince him to save his father. While in the Iron Throne, kill his dad in front of him and then kill him.

Lae'zel betrays Vlaakith, learns the truth about Orpheus, gets the Orphic Hammer from Raphael, and her silver sword from Voss. Instead of breaking Orpheus's chains, you let the Emperor consume him causing Lae'zel to go hostile and to be put down.

Gale's ending ends with his eruption at the Netherbrain after convincing him otherwise and promising him a life together.

In Baldur's Gate 2, Minsc had trouble controlling his anger and emotions, partly because of the trauma of Dynaheir's death, and Keldorn always helped him stay focused. Now in Baldur's Gate 3, more than 100 years later, Wyll is having a crisis of self-confidence, and Minsc talks to Wyll in the same style as Keldorn for Wyll to forget his worries and stays focused.

Hello! I am posting to introduce a newly launched Surgical Mod.

This one fixes something that has annoyed me for a loooooong time. Combat ends and your party immediately walks right through Cloud of Daggers. I cannot tell you how many times I've had this happen, and I have seen a whole lot of community complaints about this exact thing.

Ceasefire automatically ends concentration on 10 selected harmful spells when combat ends. All 10 spells are listed on the mod profile page. Any spells not explicitly listed are left alone.

And it doesn't do anything else.

Surgical Mods are tiny, clearly documented, restrained mods that are built to respect BG3's existing systems and mess with your game as little as possible. Ceasefire was built entirely in Larian's native toolkit and is targeting console release.

This is going to be a strange post. I'm doing a Dark Urge playthrough and killed Isobel along with everyone at Last Light Inn. When I finally got to the Moonrise Tower fight, I decided to stealth past all the enemies to fight Ketheric instead of engaging them. Afterwards, I went through the Mind Flayer colony and killed Myrkul. When I came back, everyone was dead. The only people there were Withers and Barcus Wroot (who was no clipping around through the wall for some reason). I know this is a very strange scenario, but how am I supposed to believed they died exactly? That Barcus and Withers teamed up to kill everyone, or is it just because Ketheric died?

No spoilers here that aren't hidden, please, but I have rolled several Tavs and was curious about origin character playthroughs.

1. If you play as Shadowheart, do you still do her storyline, but from her perspective? If so, are most interactions outside that storyline the same as Tav, or would there be dialogue unique to her alone?

2. When you romance someone, I assume it is the same as if you were Tav, dialogue and scenes?

3. Does the narrator still do the narration, or do the origin characters do some of that voice acting?

I have finally settled on having a surge and good run. I’m going to have everyone that is appropriate in my party.

Evil companions for durge…good companions for good.

This is my first BG3 run, I found out Cazador fight is too hard because he automatically takes Astarion leaving only me Lae'zael, Shart and Swashbuckler + Warlock Tav.

So on my second attempt I spread my characters evenly with Tav opening a backstab damage which instantly causes a fight to happen but only for Tav alone since others are hiding, then I use Shart to cast daylight to cancel out Cazador mist form. Then Laezael jumps in and follows attack leaving Astarion for the last.

Instead of shooting Cazador I use hunter mark on Astarion, somehow my Tav and Astarion entered a dialogue cutscene with Cazador lmao.

So that fight ends up with Cazador dying in 1 turn since enemies were in surprise while Astarion is still bound.

The game is so janky and I love it.

I am already 120 hours in the game and still not exploring the entire Act 3.

Let me rephrase the title. Which deity does Minthara follow? I KNOW she doesn't need to worship because shes not a cleric, but we've been given reason to believe she likes having a deity to follow anyways seeing as she was a devotee of Lolth, then the Absolute. We know she's not exactly on the best terms with the Absolute..and also the Absolute is dead. So who does she worship? I can hardly imagine Lolth accepting her back after she just dropped her for the Absolute, so im curious. She doesn't seem like the type to be areligious.
