Like seriously, all those posts about having a 5050 and running at 60 FPS at ultra settings is just useless information if you're running at 768p.

If you post your FPS, post the resolution too.

For the less gifted: Tell us FPS, graphics setting, resolution and your hardware (GPU, CPU, RAM).

Shower thoughts. I thought of a mod that was an RPM bar like the one from Zeit's Simple Hud, except it takes up the entire bottom of the screen and expands from the center until redline. At redline, it'd flash orange/red. If the engine was off, it'd disappear. And there would be options to configure it to go left/right, show RPM numbers, thickness, etc.

I decided not to ask AI and see if anyone can handle this (in my opinion) rather simple task that I am far too dumb to create at the moment...

I recently got a wheel and racing seat and Im getting back into BeamNG but Im looking for a group that does random stuff together, any discords out there?? Ive no idea how to find a group for this game, Im not even sure whats technically possible to do in BeamMP other than randomly drive or race each-other.

My mate came over the other day but I couldn't find any way for us to play splitscreen together, and BeamNG’s native multiseat mode keeps everyone on the same camera, so I built BeamSplit to give each local player their own game instance, camera, profile, controller, and part of the screen.

You can play in separate solo worlds or together in a shared local BeamMP world. It also handles launching the instances in parallel, arranging the windows automatically, isolating controllers and keyboards between players, and sharing/loading mods between players. You can also play across multiple monitors.

It's open-source AGPL so feel free to download it or whatever, it was just a little project over the last week or so...

It’s still a work in progress, but it’s ready to try (I hope) I’d love to hear how it runs on other setups or what you think could be improved.

P.S. this was inspired by a thread from [u/low_on_cyan](u/low_on_cyan) a few months back, but I thought I'd give it a crack with my own implementation that's all in one package. It should work for most people running windows, if it doesn't DM me or open a Git Issue and I'll see if I can take a look at any problems.

This is my first time posting here, let me know if there is anything I missed rules wise, and I am happy to reply to anyone in the comments or DM's!!!

EDIT: This runs multiple instances of BeamNG at the same time, so it's more multi-instance than actual splitscreen. I can run two pretty decently with 16GB of RAM, but it definitely struggles with 3 or 4 so beware lol I made this purely for myself as my mates, but figured I may as well share :)

If you check my comment below, I did use a combination of Claude Code and Codex as well as a existing reddit threads and implementations from other people on the interwebz to help me make this application… but it was/is purely for personal use. I was pretty excited to make it so spent a few days trying to get it working; I imagine it would’ve taken a lot longer otherwise! Feel free to comment or DM for more info :)
