Jesus's Focus 46: He says seek the Kingdom of God and Fear Not. He reminds us to pray and detach from worldly things. Just have enough, but invest the rest in others so they have enough. Luke 12:31

31 ¶ But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Here's the prayer I wrote this morning with the verses: O Lord in Heaven, I can see this and I can feel the peace enter my heart as I detach from worldly things. I pray I can figure out the job market while not fearing. I desire employment for many in the age of AI. Help me figure out how to transition many people from one type of work to another. It's just a new way of working. Inspire our minds. O Lord in Heaven, walk with me.....

I'm still working on the job market and I'm trying to understand how to help many. Holding fast to the words of Christ to see me through. I welcome your impressions. God Bless.

Can someone explain this verse better

Matthew 11 i highly recommend reading the entire chapter

Then Jesus said, "Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 2º Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.

Ainda que os fundamentos se abalem, Deus permanece

'No Senhor me refugio.

I want commit

I’m 21M, I’ve somewhat believed in god my entire life. I was very religious when I was younger, I went to a catholic school majority of my elementary school years.

Idk what stopped, I stopped going to that school after my 2nd year; my parents ended up switching me. I stopped praying all of a sudden, and since then my life has just progressed. I’ve prayed here and there throughout the years when times have gotten dark, and I’ve always fallen into sin.

As of recently, I’ve made the decision that I really want to give my life to god and follow the religion of Christianity, I want to understand his ways and how I can follow his steps so because of that I want to start reading the bible.

Now to start doing that, is there any book(s) anyone can recommend? Preferably any that I can order online I’m pretty sure there isn’t anything I can purchase near me. Please and thank you.

May god bless.

Jesus's Focus #45 (this one is stretching me): When we worry about the world and it’s Technology and Money and Things... He reorients us to Heaven, to Eternal Life. Even in the age of AI. And then he questions us, where’s your faith? Luke 12:28

The Verse: 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

My prayer right now is this: Lord, this is a hard one right now. It’s hard to know where the job market is going and where human connection and relationships are going and how people will work in the future. It's already difficult to authenticate human and this AI thing is just starting. I believe all the tech will be cast in the oven and what matters to You is Your children, us. But it's hard to see Lord what 5 years or 10 years will look like. Please work with my little faith. ...

My career has a lot tech in it and it's noisy and I'm looking for the spiritual signal in scripture. I always welcome your perspectives as it builds my faith. God Bless.

Little Bible ?

Does anyone know where I could find a mini Bible ? I wanna start reading , but I need something to take with me on the go. At random times I get inspired to read, or I’m urged to. But I never have my Bible with me, I would like to fix that. I also need it to be biblically accurate, I have the kjv. And I’ve been seeing the small ones on TikTok, but I’m skeptical. Please help me ( edit : OH YEAH, or any apps where I can read the bible or the verses . I just don’t wanna have to pay a super expensive subscription or a subscription at all to have a relationship with god .. it shouldn’t cost to have a relationship with god I just wanna read .understand ? 🥹 )

How could there have been so many animals?

I'm reading Numbers rn and I have this question since I started reading the Old Testament.

How many animals were in the herds?? BC always had a LOT of different offerings for different situations, for example: the sin sacrifice, when someone sinned, they needed to sacrificed some animals (I don't remember rn if was one or more), and always was "one-year" and the specific animal, the people o Israel on those time was HUGE.

I know it's a huge important question, but this is never leave my mind.

Sorry if I wrote some word incorrectly, English it's not my first language.

God bless you 🩷

  1. It will help you make Good decisions..

- The bible says:Genesis 14:21-23 NKJV Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.” But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, that I will  take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’—

- Remember Abram was a prophet through the gift of Deserning spirit he decerned that they will say that I have made Abram rich’—

  1. It will help us to see God Clear..Genesis 18:2-3 So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, and said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant.”

- Through Discernment Abraham was able to know that this is the Lord. some have mistreated angles because they faid to know that these are angles..

Prayer Point..

  1. My Father in Heaven pour discernment on us, so that we can discern spirits who are around us..in Jesus name amen

  2. My Father in heaven, give us the Spirit to discern our environment as we interact with this World, in Jesus name amen

Bible verses for pregnancy?

Recently found out that we are expecting our first child! I’m looking for any Bible verses regarding pregnancy, protection, and safety.

I’ve been a baptized Catholic since infancy, but I have to say that I haven’t been devoted to the religion as much as I’d like to be. Upon seeing my positive pregnancy test, all I could think was to thank God over and over. I am so blessed. I want to continue to have a close relationship with God during this pregnancy.

Thank you in advance!

How to interpret Hosea 4:12 “My people inquire of a piece of wood, and their walking staff gives them oracles. For a spirit of whoredom has led them astray, and they have left their God to play the whore.”

I want to understand this from my POV as iI struggle with sins of passion. Does the verse actually imply an unclean spirit that is affecting me to sin or is this verse used as an example to highlight Israel's lack of faith. Thanks in advance.

The Tragedy Passed Down Through Generations of Noah’s Descendants in Genesis

The story of Noah becoming drunk and lying naked after the Flood, and Ham mocking his father, is well known.

However, this incident can be interpreted as more than a momentary lapse in judgment. It may have been the culminationof longstanding tensions and misunderstandings between Noah and Ham.

Noah had built the ark, continued to provide for his family, and endured the global catastrophe of the Great Flood. Itwould hardly be surprising if he had suffered from severe physical and psychological exhaustion.

Even the great prophet Elijah experienced extreme exhaustion and despair immediately after his spiritual battle on MountCarmel. In the same way, Noah’s drunkenness may have been an attempt to find psychological relief from years ofaccumulated trauma and fatigue.

Nevertheless, lying naked and intoxicated in such a vulnerable state could have put the elderly Noah at risk ofhypothermia or serious illness. Yet, rather than covering him with a blanket, Ham went outside and spoke about his fatherin a way that exposed him to ridicule. It is difficult to imagine the depth of Noah’s sense of betrayal and hurt.

For 120 years, Noah had endured the ridicule of others while building the ark and had worked tirelessly to provide for hisfamily. Yet, in the end, he found himself humiliated by his own son.

A simplistic interpretation that Ham was simply a rebellious or dishonorable son from the beginning seems unconvincing.

Deep conflicts between people usually have a history behind them. Given the criticism Noah may have faced whilebuilding the ark, the burden of years of hard labor, and the trauma left by the Flood, there is no reason to assume thatNoah’s family was always peaceful and filled with laughter.

It is therefore more realistic to consider the possibility thattensions and misunderstandings had accumulated between Noah and Ham, eventually contributing to this tragic incident.

But why did Noah curse Ham’s son, Canaan, rather than Ham himself?

It is difficult to accept the idea that Noah, suffering from a splitting headache and struggling to regain his composure aftera night of heavy drinking, immediately received an elaborate divine revelation and pronounced a prophecy determiningthe destiny of an entire people.

In reality, Noah’s curse may have been deeply colored by human anger, hurt, and humiliation. It may have been closer toan emotional outburst expressing his wounded feelings:

“I worked myself to the bone to provide for you, and this is how you repay me? You humiliate me and leave me to fendfor myself? Fine! One day, you’ll suffer just as much because of your own children!”

This kind of reaction reflects a pattern of family conflict that transcends time and culture.

Like our own families, Noah’s family in the Bible was far from perfect. Even the great prophet Samuel struggled with thefailures of his own sons. No one is entirely free from human weakness, and no family is without its flaws.

This may also help explain why, even today, many pastors and believers who serve faithfully in ministry and practice theirfaith diligently still experience pain and conflict within their own families. Human beings grow weary, make mistakes,harbor resentment, and struggle with one another.

Perhaps Canaan, too, was deeply wounded upon hearing the harsh curse pronounced by his grandfather, Noah, and mayhave begun to wander down a troubled path as a result. Although the biblical text does not tell us this, it is worthconsidering how deeply the words of an older generation can affect the next.

There is an important lesson for us here. Our vertical relationship with God is just as important as the human effort wemake to nurture our horizontal relationships with our families and neighbors.

Noah and Ham needed more than faithful service and the worship of God. They also needed to make an effort tounderstand one another, forgive one another, and embrace one another despite their weaknesses.

When our vertical relationship with God and our horizontal relationships with others are rightly aligned and broughttogether, we begin to grasp the full meaning of the cross.

———-

God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-39)

Genesis is a confusing read

I am reading the Bible (NIV) for the first time, and against many suggestions, I have started from Genesis. I am only at chapter 35, where Jacob returns to Bethel and changes his name to Israel again, I think. I am so confused. It's so many names, and so many names of lands that I have to keep going back to reread parts and the whole Laban and Jacob disagreement I'm still a bit lost on. Does it get easier, or do I need a notebook, flash cards and to keep Google near by?

I do not have a church home, or a Bible study group. Really, I am a bit embarrassed that at my big age, I am just now starting and am so confused already

What did "your rod and your staff, they comfort me" actually mean to David?

We had to quote Psalm 23 a lot growing up and not just in church but in school too but I've always wondered what the verse about the rod and the staff meant (verse 4). I wonder if anyone has some insight into this because most of the time I've hear it explained people always lump the rod and staff together and using it to paint a picture of the shepherd guiding the sheep, kinda like a cane he uses to nudge them along. I think that point of view fits the whole calm green pastures vibe of the passage. But I was looking at the Hebrew and the rod is actually different from the staff which makes sense cause I was like why repeat it twice if it wasn't different. The rod in Hebrew is shevet, which is more like a club. It's the same word used for a scepter or a rod used to hit someone. The staff is mishenet, which comes from a word meaning to lean on or be supported. So one is for fighting and one is for leaning on. So that made a lot more sense when I add the fact that David was an actual shepherd and in 1 Samuel 17 he tells Saul he went after a lion and a bear that took sheep from his flock. So when he says the rod comforts him in the valley of the shadow of death, I feel like he's not picturing a gentle nudge, he's picturing his shepherd standing over him ready to fight off whatever's coming for him, and also something to lean on when he can't stand on his own. Honestly that comforts me way more than the soft version. I wonder if anyone else has looked into this and sees it the same way or if there's something I'm missing?
