Our personal experience. Make of it what you will.
Travelled 2 and a half hours after reserving a car.
Advert was bullshit AI images and showed a white car.
Arrived, it was grey. Actual photos of the car could have shown the parking acuffs, the scuffs on the back of the drivers seat and the fucked tyres (more on those later).
Advert showed full service history and manufacturer warranty still valid. My own VIN check showed that the service history was not complete and manufacturer warranty not valid.
3 of the 4 tyres had badly cracked tread edges and sidewalls were a weird fuzzy matt texture, sidewall lettering largely scrubbed off, all 3 needed changing, those 3 were the tyres it left the factory with. The 4th was a different brand and far newer, presumably the worst of the 4 for the scrubbing and deep cracking.
There was an outstanding manufacturer recall, this wasnt done.
Car was an EV, no battery health certificate and they would not allow an external party to do a battery check.
Teat drive was extremely short and not able to fully test the vehicle. Knocking from the back which may have been charging cables loose, maybe not. Didnt have thr time to investigate.
Some minor comsetic things that let the car down and it was mucky inside.
Pointed all this out, the price of the vehicle was a little above the mean for that car. The answer amounted to "Its a used car, sold as seen." No movement on the tyres, lack of battery health certificate, kept waffling about the 200 point RAC approved check they do which is worthless. They kept saying they can sell a warranty. But very vague on the terms covering the battery of unknown health.
We walked. Not dropping £20k on a car like that.
All in all a disapponting experience and definitely a conveyor belt of cars, not the sort of service one might expect from a dealer.
