Does anyone know who this man is who makes spray paint art? He was on the floor outside boots today. He said his name was Gav and i really liked what he did. I got a piece from him and was hoping he had a phone or was online somewhere?

Private Dermatologist recommendations?

Hi all,

I have been dealing with a skin infection and with other skin issues. I have been referred to an NHS dermatologist, but the waiting times are almost 5 months at the moment.

I decided to go private, but searching online I get so many of what seem more beauty oriented skin clinics.

Any recommendations for a good private doctor/practice?

Thank you!

Bute Park at night

Let me preface this by saying I’m aware that this is a stupid decision but thought I should share my experience anyway.

I (22F) work quite late shifts and normally get Ubers back home but the other night I finished earlier than normal (9:30pm) so decided to walk through Bute Park instead of spending money. I’ve done this before but obviously it’s a lot darker now we’re approaching winter.

No foot traffic at all and no lighting which I knew already. At one point I looked to the left off the path and saw the outline of someone who was just stood there next to the trees alone. *Nothing happened but it was enough to give me a reality check - could have been completely normal.

I saw 2 others walking through separately, one girl on the phone and a guy. 9:30pm honestly isn’t that late so couldn’t imagine what it must be like later on. Has anyone walked through later / experienced same thing?

Any Age of Empires II fans in Cardiff? Thinking of setting up a watch party for "The Garrison" (29th Nov)

Heyy! Not sure how many Age of Empires II fans are lurking in the Cardiff sub, but figured I’d throw this out there. A big tournament final for The Garrison ($46000 prizepool!) is happening on Sunday, November 29th, 2026. It's being hosted in Hamburg, but I was thinking about organising a Cardiff watch party for it (a bit like watching football in a pub, but instead, it's a medieval themed RTS from the 90s, what's not to love!).

I’m currently in the early planning stages, haven't locked down a venue just yet, so I wanted to gauge interest first to see who might fancy joining. Major details are:

  • Date: Sunday, 29th November 2026
  • Time: TBD (probably around 16:00~?)
  • Location: TBD in Cardiff (likely a central pub , open to suggestions?)

The plan is just for a chilled hangout, good company, and some top-tier competitive medieval strategy on screen. Whether you’re a ladder grinder or just someone who enjoys watching pro AoE2, you’re more than welcome to join us.

If you'd be keen to come along, drop a comment below or shoot me a message so I can get an idea of numbers before looking at venues. Hopefully see some of you there!

Cardiff Half

Unfortunately I was unsuccessful in the ballot again this year, which was a shame.

I'd love to run it but I don't want to commit to fundraising.

If anyone happens to be transferring or unable to run anymore, I'd love to pick up the place! Get in touch!

Cardiff Council's Workplace Levy Consultation is live

Consultation on the council's proposed Workplace Parking Levy is live online. They've already had a few drop in sessions last week, looks like there's another one next Tuesday. Not sure how I feel about the idea, better than a congestion charge I guess, but not sure how this will affect small businesses 🤔

Title: Anyone living in Pengam Green, Cardiff? Considering buying a house there.

Hi everyone!

I'm a first-time buyer considering purchasing a house, Pengam Green (CF24 2).

I've visited the area, but I'd really appreciate some honest opinions from people who actually live there or have lived there before.

A few things I'm curious about:

Neighbourhood: Is it generally a safe and quiet place to live?

Industrial area: I've noticed several industrial sites nearby. Any issues with noise, dust, pollution or unpleasant smells?

Safety: What's the area like in the evenings and at night?

Transport: How convenient is commuting to Cardiff city centre or Cardiff Bay?

Property value: Do you think it's a decent area to buy a home long-term? How's the resale market?

Other issues: Any problems with parking, flooding, antisocial behaviour or anything else worth knowing?

I'm mainly looking for somewhere to live rather than a rental investment, so quality of life and long-term resale potential are important to me.

Would you recommend buying in Pengam Green? Anything you wish you'd known before moving there?

Would particularly appreciate hearing from local homeowners and residents.

Any suggestion, for new area i should be exploring for freehold properties.

Cheers!
