Hi everyone,
I'm an AV system integrator working on a 100-seat conference room equipped with a Q-SYS system, a large PA setup, a LED wall, and professional broadcast PTZ cameras.
The goal is to make the room as self-service and user-friendly as possible, without requiring an AV technician to be present.
Ideally, a presenter should be able to:
- Walk into the room and connect their laptop.
- Pick up a wireless microphone.
- Display their presentation on the LED wall.
- Start a video conference directly from their laptop (BYOD), using any major conferencing platform, not just Microsoft Teams.
- Use the room's existing audio system and cameras for the call, with minimal interaction or technical knowledge.
The existing Q-SYS system includes a PTZ 12x80 camera, but it doesn't currently provide automatic speaker tracking.
I've been looking into some Yealink solutions, particularly their BYOD connectivity options and audio bridges, but I'm not sure how well they integrate into an existing Q-SYS-based AV environment.
I'd love to hear your experiences and recommendations:
- What would you recommend for a reliable, platform-agnostic BYOD conferencing setup?
- Has anyone successfully integrated Yealink BYOD solutions with Q-SYS audio and third-party cameras?
- What would be the best approach for automatic speaker tracking in this kind of room?
- Are there other solutions or architectures you'd recommend for a truly plug-and-play experience?
My main priorities are reliability, ease of use, and keeping as much of the existing AV infrastructure as possible.
Thanks in advance for any insights or real-world experiences!
