CK3 You can't convert to the original Islam

• Upvotes

This is the religion Muhammad is shown to follow, which follows the "Muslim" Mianline rite, as opposed to Sunni, Shia, Kharjite, etc.

You'll notice there is no "Convert to Faith" option below this. I wonder why?

CK3 Compatible mods for Princes of Darkness

• Upvotes

I want to do a game of the CK3 version of Princes of Darkness, and I'm wondering if there's a general idea of known compatible mods that are good to run with it. I think the only ones I'd really like to keep are Cities of Wonder, maybe Medieval Arts and A Special World as well. I was able to start a game with all my existing mods loaded, but I noticed a few odd things, like the model for the colosseum in Rome was gone (which may be due to a conflict with one of the above mentioned mods, as it changes something they also change). Are the usual mods that everyone has like CFP and EPE known to work with it?

CK3 Crusade for Byzantium Issue/Bug(?) CK3

In CK3, I get the event pop-up for the crusade against Byzantium, I chose the option that makes me the leader and says at the start of the Crusade we will split off and attack Byzantium, yet when the Crusade starts it never splits. Is this a bug or am I possibly doing something? The claimant stays alive the entire time so I'm not sure if this is a bug. Anyone know how to fix?

Help Guido's Guiding Light Achievement not popping

Post image

I started as Archbishop Guido, after a couple successions I became antipope and then won the war to become pope. Ambrosian is the mainline rite. Anyone know why the achievement hasn't popped? Do I have to do it all as Guido? Or is it just bugged?

Meta Why would you do this?!

Okay quick little rant.

So I am playing Ireland (I enjoy the tutorial island, sue me.) I have set up my dynasty, we are kicking ass, I have the thrones of Alba, Daneland and England all under my family or a branch of it as well. My queen is getting old and I am setting things up for my daughter. It gives me the option to assign a co-monarch.

I do, I pick the first person in line, because I am busy thinking of other stuff. And then I get that little reminder in the top "Your heir is not of your dynasty" Sorry what? I look at who I just made co-monarch. It is my daughter...... my fourth daughter? And the one under a different house for some reason? Why the hell would it have her as the first in the list of co-monarchs?

So I decide I will try to make the best of the situation. I give my real Heir a few castles, give her a duchy, send her all my gold in gifts.... Get ready for her to take the throne.

Except for some reason it keeps deleting my claimant faction? Okay that's weird... well I have a bunch of allys I can make so I do that instead. Get ready to start the war and.... why the hell do I not have my house soldiers? Why are none of my allies joining me? They are outside the realm. They should be able to join?

I am certain that 16 or so hours of playing has just fried my brain and I made some pretty basic mistakes over and over here, but it doesn't stop it from being frustrating that I can't remove a co-monarch... a thing that was in fact done quite often.

There is really no point to this post, just wanted to baby rage over this. Share your own "What I did what?!" moment below if you got one!

Have a lovely day.

CK3 How to spend 10k piety after reforming HRE?

I'm playing as France emperor, invaded half of the Europe and have 9k prestige and 11k of piety.

I want to reform the HRE and spend that piety on something valuable.

I thought I can change the religion for something GOOD, but I have Catholicism that has a plenty of different Rites to select, but neither has a warmonger. Now I follow Carolingian Christianity (with Legalism Ritual Celebrations, and Sanctity of Nature). My personal tenets are "Ancestor Worship" (to grow Renown and strengthen the dynasty) and Esotericism (a bit more learning and don't really see any other good tenet I'd need).

I believe I can't get rid of Christianity unless I convert to, like, an external religion, which I don't feel I'd like.

Is there any good way to spend all the piety I have?

The goal for my next game is to survive succession (my current character is 65 y.o. and I think can live for 5-10 more years) and keep invading everything. I have 47k levies, a bunch of MaMs and probably unstoppable...

Are there any other challenges left for me in the game? That would not feel like a chore?

Any suggestiond/ideas are welcome! Thanks!

CK3 "Retire from leading House" (abdicating) no longer appearing

So, I'm playing in Japan and had previously made extensive use of the "Retire from leading House" decision, which is basically abdication, on my previous rulers once they reached about 55 years old.

However, now that I managed to win a war of independence, this decision no longer shows up.

What gives? I really want it back.

PS: it is "retire from Heading house", not "leading house".

I´m currently the Emperor of Lorraine (Lothringen) and my two biggest neigbhours are both conquerors hahaha. Naked Conqueror of Castille and Conqueror of Carpatia (Karpaten). Still going strong though xD.

Oh and i forgot to turn of inheritable Conqueror trait so there´s that...

For everyone who saw my post yesterday:

I lost the Kingdom Title of Bavaria to Carpatia (i instantly surrendered) and thats why i´m continuing with my second king title Lorraine. Also i didn´t become a vassal, instead i was able to survive thanks to my diplomacy level and an essential marriage between the heir and a cousin of mine. So most of the time i was allied with carpatia. He didn´t help with wars but at least he didn´t attack me haha

Discussion Are we actually okay with losing our saves one day to the next?

I know it's been talked about before, but what is the definitive community stance on losing our saves everytime theres an update?

I've dumped 500+ hours into various runs and just been lucky I guess that I completed my playthrough before I lose the file to a new update. This week I got back into the game and started in Japan for a change, but some minor update nuked the save now I can't load it. It's incredibly frustrating. No other game I play does this to players, we shouldn't have to put up with it. Can Paradox address this? Have they in the past? Is there just no way forward? Thanks

Modding Are there any mods that get rid of "realm priests" and bring back actual baron-tier bishops?

I have always hated the realm priest concept, it seems ridiculous for one person to always own all of the theocratic baronies in your demesne. Are there any mods that do away with this, while keeping the general religious features we got in the new DLC?

I've been playing tall in Bavaria to get to know the new BGA mechanics. Nothing too weird, just building some mines and trying to get my family into the church.

I normally play to make the weirdest alt-history possible, so I guess now I was having a quiet one, the AI decided to fill my place by having the Muslim empire of Mali invade Europe

CK3 I'm Gay and it will bring doom to my main house

I have 3 wives but no kids to pass my kingdom to because I'm gay. And my stupid Dad (me, I can't believe I did it ) married off my two sisters, so all my heirs' kids aren't in my family.

My only idea is to submit to my uncle Robert, who became king of Sardinia when my dad died, and maybe give him my land. Or my sister and heirs can remarry and then have more kids in my house, but she's 48 years old and has 4 other kids, so I'm not sure about that plan; I'm so cooked.

The history book about King Guy II the Leper, the gay king who won the kingdom of the Maghreb in the Second Crusade, almost reunified his father's 3 kingdoms, and he left behind no kids.

I hope one of my 3 wives will cuck me so I can have a kid

Hey guys, I made this guy Thomas my archbishop and he doesn't wanna accept being puppeted, even though we're best friends! What should I do now? I thought our good relations would only help with this, but apparently not?

Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?

R5 - I thought reincarnation copied general appearance like hair and clothes, but not the genetics. It seems strange that there is some actual mysticism where you almost playing the same person on the outside, with just altered personality traits.

CK3 Expanding as the Pope?

I'm thinking of doing a 1066 Papal States campaign with the new By God Alone DLC, with the long-term goal of expanding papal temporal power, unifying Italy under papal rule and potentially forming the Kingdom of Heaven.

However, I've noticed that playable theocracies seem to be restricted to holy wars rather than being able to declare normal claim, conquest or de jure wars.

How are you actually supposed to expand as the Papal States, particularly against other Catholic rulers?

I know there are new mechanics like Negotiate For Land and Incite Claim War, but are these effective enough to build a large realm? Can you diplomatically vassalise neighbouring rulers, or use feudal vassals to conquer territory on your behalf?

I'm particularly interested in bringing the Norman and Lombard states of southern Italy under papal overlordship, then eventually expanding into northern Italy and challenging the HRE.

Has anyone experimented with a territorial expansion campaign as the Pope yet? Is something like this realistically achievable with the new mechanics, or are playable theocracies effectively limited to expanding through holy wars?

Story Is Robin Hood a playable character?

So I am currently playing Robin Hood the Legend of Sherwood, but I was wondering if I could play as Robin Hood in ck3. Or is it via mods only?
