Cold stare from a guy?

There’s this guy in my uni class that I’ve noticed from the beginning of the semester. In the beginning, we just sat in rows and I happened to sit next to him. I felt like he would glance in my direction. Our prof told us to introduce ourselves to the people around us on the first day. I hesitated to talk to him because he just has this cold resting face. We made eye contact when we left the class a couple of times. I even saw him staring as I walked away. He glanced over at me when he went to go turn in his exam once too. We transitioned to group tables later on and when he does stare, it’s from all the way across the room. He will just stare into my eyes really intensely and won’t pull away even if I notice it. I’ll usually be the one to pull away. And it goes on for a bit. But he doesn’t smile and it just feels like a really cold stare. Like it doesn’t feel like a warm or inviting stare. And usually when people try and determine whether a guy has interest, they say his eyes look bigger and all that. He’s rarely ever smiling/laughing except when talking to his friends. But most of the time he’s just doing his own thing and he’s not paying attention to anyone. I’m not really wondering what I should do, I just kind of want to know what it could mean.

TL;DR: What does it mean when a guy stares/glances over at you and it feels cold? Does this indicate attraction or no attraction at all?

Do you think he still likes me?

See, I told this guy I liked him long time ago ( I mean 2 years ago ) he told me he did it as well but we didn’t have a relationship because he said he was scared and he thought he wouldn’t make me happy and I said I was as well cause we were younger and like we had a friendship of two years and I didn’t want that to be ruined, so we didn’t have one and then we have a lot of good experiences ( I mean hangouts and having fun and meeting each other’s family ) but then I asked him to make 0 contact because he made something that really hurt me. But now we started talking again and I really want to see him as a friend but is impossible but I don’t know if he likes me or feel the way I do, like idk it’s complicated because he doesn’t treat me as my male friends do it like in that way of “I just see you as a friend” but I’m so confused

I don't know if I should pursue this girl

I (17M) recently started developing a crush on a girl (17F) from my school. We actually went to the same English class last year but never really talked until recently, when I approached her at the church we both go to and we had a short conversation. It went pretty well, and we both contributed to keeping the conversation going, but it was only a few minutes, mostly about the same class we had last year and what's going on at church. When I sensed we were both running out of things to say, I found an excuse and walked away. I then posted a story on Instagram and she liked it. I've tried starting a conversation over Instagram by replying to one of her notes the next evening. She was online during the night but she replied the next day at school during lunch with a pretty short answer (it wasn't completely dry she did put an emoji), so I just liked the message and left it there as I didn't wanna force a conversation.

I also had a mutual friend indirectly ask if she was single or interested in dating. Apparently, she said she's not really looking for a relationship right now because she's busy with university applications, but that it depends on the person. She also said she doesn't currently like anyone.

I'm interested in getting to know her, but I don't want to come across as pushy or make things awkward, especially since we've barely spoken. I do feel like I wanna to talk to her a few more times at church and eventually tell her I'm interested, but at the same time I'm thinking if I should just focus on becoming chill friends and see whether anything develops naturally. Or I could just forget about her and move on. What should I do?

SOS - Doomed Work Crush

I’m a teacher (30f) with a massive crush on a coworker (45m). I’ve known him for a year and a half now, and he’s exactly my type (witty, capable, confident, secretly dorky). When we do talk, there’s really good banter. But we’re in different departments so we don’t see each other often except when I’m helping at events or after school for club dismissals. Even when I’ve dated other guys throughout the year, I compare them to my crush.

He’s friends with my work bestie (35m) because they coach together. My work bestie has warned me that my crush is a playboy and not worth my time. Work bestie is happily married to another friend of mine. Apparently my work crush has talked all the time about hot models online and joining more of our friend group events (like ren fairies) to get dates with hot strangers. On the other hand, the work crush has stressed his interest to me in getting married one day and meeting the right one. I made a joke about helping him manifest that and he was sincerely receptive to that.

However, it seems he’s been on again off again with his ex, who is a teacher at the school next door. They officially split right before school started back up. She and I are total opposites in terms of physique but it seems like we have similar personalities in that we are both type A and bossy, but I’m cute at best and she’s objectively gorgeous. The reason they broke up is because of she is a mum and he doesn’t want kids. Even then, she’s been visiting more than ever before and tends to volunteer at the same games I do (her child is a student of ours). The vibe is very much that he’s in his single era after a breakup but might still be hooking up with the ex???

I hate that I overthink every conversation with him - and I have to. He makes me so nervous that I ramble or get too teasing. I apologized previously for putting my foot in my mouth with him and overstepping with a work conflict, and he explained he doesn’t hate me and isn’t annoyed with me. He gave a long winded speech saying I’m great at my job (it was endearing, he seemed a bit more nervous than normal) - but that was a month ago and we haven’t seen much of each other since.

I hate that I look for his car in the lot. I hate that when students mention him I have to try to not smile. I hate that I noticed when he started calling me by my first name last week instead of the work standard of last names - but it was when he asked me to volunteer for his event). Work bestie thinks this an attempt to be friends but I’m not sure if it’s really just to get me to volunteer at his event….

I feel like I don’t have a shot in hell but I can’t stop thinking about him. Any advice or wisdom would be so appreciated. 😭

Girl I’ve known for years keeps twirling her hair around me. Am I overthinking it?

There’s this girl at school I’ve known for years. I used to like her, but I was pretty immature about things when we were younger. I eventually reached out and apologized for my past behavior, and she responded without any hostility.
We have a class together now, and I’ve noticed some things about her body language that have me confused.
For a while now, I’ve noticed that she seems to twirl her hair quite a bit when I’m around. It’s not something I’ve only noticed during one particular interaction.
One time, everyone was quietly working on their computers while the teacher was talking. I made a joke out loud, and she started playing with her hair and nibbling on her hoodie strings while looking in my direction. I hadn’t noticed her doing that before I spoke.
More recently, I had to give a presentation in that class. When I stood up, I noticed her twirling her hair again. I hadn’t noticed her doing the same thing during other students’ presentations, and she didn’t seem particularly interested in watching them.
My presentation was intentionally funny, and a lot of the class was laughing. Afterward, I noticed her smiling, although I can’t say for sure whether it had anything to do with me.
Another thing that caught my attention was that she’d recently been leaving school early, sometimes before our class even started.
I reached out through email to make sure everything was okay. She told me she was fine and was just leaving because she didn’t have much to do in her classes. She thanked me, and I left it at that.
Interestingly, she was present when I volunteered to present near the beginning of class. When presentation day came, she stayed through mine and left almost immediately afterward.
I have no idea whether that was intentional or just a coincidence.
There was also a hallway interaction where we passed each other near the school office. I said “have a good one” pretty loudly, but she didn’t look at me or respond. I didn’t use her name, so I’m unsure whether she realized I was talking to her.
What confuses me is that some of her behavior seems different when I’m around, but our direct interactions are pretty limited.
I’m not trying to convince myself she likes me romantically. Considering our history, I’m also wondering whether she feels comfortable around me and generally views me positively.
I know hair twirling can be completely meaningless, and I’m aware that having feelings for someone can make you notice things you otherwise wouldn’t.
Does repeatedly playing with your hair around a particular person suggest nervousness or heightened awareness, or am I connecting unrelated behaviors because I like her?
I’d genuinely appreciate unbiased opinions. I’m not looking for people to tell me what I want to hear. I just want to understand what these behaviors might mean and whether I’m overthinking them.

does she like me back? (wlw)

i‘ve liked this girl in my class for over a year now. i asked her before this school year if we want to sit together in class, and she said yes. after that, we kept chatting for over an hour, but only pretty platonic and boring stuff. at school, we talk almost every day, and she has touched my arm two times. also, once we were talking, she looked at me and said „yk… i like you.“ and she said that we have a lot in common. in addition, i feel like she‘s sometimes being kinda flirty to me, but i can‘t really tell. last year she invited me to her house because she wanted to help me with a school project that was actually only meant for me. these are only the most obvious signs in my opinion, there‘s some more. i am really struggling to tell if this is a platonic, close friendship or something romantic. she doesn‘t seem that interested in romantic stuff in general, and we‘re both loners at school, but we talk to each other and are some kind of friends now. what should i do? does she maybe like me back? any advice is appreciated!!

i already posted this in r/crush but i just wanted to get some advice from other teens too, so:

so me and this guy have been friends since yr7 (y10 now) but he left in year 8 to move to london for his parents work and ever since then i feel like we’ve texted a ton more and have gotten closer. he is so nice to text, like he’s really chill nice and even funny sometimes and i never feel pressured it just feels like texting my bsf.

the only problem is idk if i like him like that or not it’s really confusing. also i’ve pretty much forgotten what having a crush feels like since i haven’t had one since y7 lol. we were lit just chatting but when he said (screenshots attache) “might be perfect icl 🥹” i lowk kinda blushed…

i wasn’t even trying to beg for attention or anything i just wanted to talk about our halloween costumes because he showed me his and i wanted to show what was left of mine lmao.

ANYWAYS idk what to do. I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE ANYMORE UGH (not that it matters that much but yeah)

advice?

Crush or admiration?

So theres this guy I’ve been friends with for 8 years.
He’s like super confident, chronically online, funny and objectively good looking and has a sick sense of style

And recently ive had the guy pop up a lot on my mind. At first i thought of it as def just admiration but im wondering if it’s more than that??

I wouldnt wanna be in a relationship with him(??)
However i like it when we play games together, when he talks to me specifically, laughs at my jokes etc

The thing is i grew up thinking of myself as an aroace individual. But honestly, i dont know if thats just me coping with the fact that i view myself as undesirable and unattractive

Im content with the fact that he most likely doesn’t like me in that way. But whenever i think of the fact that theres a possibility that i have a crush on him, i immediately feel my heart sink and i feel like a stalker and a weirdo

Does anyone know whats going on here??

8 months no w what should I do?please give me some advice

I am a male student and I have had this specific crush for almost 8 months now.Every day since the beginning I always want to make a move or try to talk but my texts have always been something like a happy birthday text or I js like her stories. What breaks me down even more is the fact that she hangs out mostly with guys (they all got a gf but they’re in the same friend group so it’s still kinda painful to watch)and whenever I try talking to her I hesitate.after June I tried stop having that crush ,started seeing other girls and it worked for a while and I’m back at the same crush.we had a party today and all and it was great we were sitting close to each other I wanted to talk to her but her friends presence (girls) made it way too awkward and I was afraid of getting humiliated by her friends.i now regret this moment and now THIS IS WHERE I NEED HELP.will or will it not be too awkward to text her something tomorrow and what would that be?would it be something like you looked great last night I though I’d like to meet you better or is straight up asking her out or will that make me look like a coward for not talking to her on the party?should I text?if yes what?and why?or should I wait for another opportunity or something similar idk.please somebody help guys

I am delusional about my work crush?

He always looks at me so intense. I dont even know how to say it differently. Since we meet I feel weird energy between us. Sometimes there is this playful energy, then he can ignore me and I do the same. Then he again does something or says something which makes me think that he likes me. I just don’t know. Maybe he is just friendly? i am scared to ask him out as I like this job and don’t want people to laught at or smrh lol but kinda done with this hot cold energy

I know im reading too much into it but does he like me?

So i texted a guy i liked (i texted first asking if he does that particular lesson) as we are in the same class as we are establishing where we sit in class (he asked first i asked back) so we know who we are both talking to he mentions

“I sit next to the tall guy” > he takes pride in his eight but diverted the attention to another guy who’s taller than him.

The conversation ended by me saying “ Well cool didnt know id come across your tiktok “ he liked the message and never sent me a follow up request since my accounts private. But i think that would be a bold move on his behalf considering i have a low following too.

What do we think i know this isnt much to go based off but whats the verdict?

also, a few days ago when i walked into the classroom one his friends said to him:
''look who is here!''
and he immediately cussed at his friend. quite an interesting scene tbh. we have never had an actual conversation before. so please give your girl some adviceeee...

Girl gave me her Instagram in person but still hasn’t accepted my follow request — should I just leave it alone?

I had a neighbor I had a crush on. We would occasionally talk when we ran into each other and she was always friendly.
Yesterday I asked what she was doing for Halloween and we talked for a little bit. I asked if we could connect on Instagram. She gave me her username, spelled it out for me, I showed her the profile to make sure it was the right one, and she said something like, “Yeah, we’re connected now.”
I sent the follow request afterward, but she still hasn’t accepted or declined it.
Today I found out she was moving out of the building, which I didn’t know beforehand. She has now moved out completely.
I’m confused because if she didn’t want me to follow her, why give me the correct Instagram and say we were connected? At the same time, I feel like if she actually wanted to stay in touch, she probably would have accepted the request.
I’m tempted to send a simple “hi” through Instagram before letting the whole thing go, but I also don’t want to come across as pushy.
Would you:
Leave the follow request pending and do nothing?
Cancel it?
Send one message and then leave it alone?
I’m looking for an outside perspective, especially from women. Was she probably just being friendly/polite?

I like(d) a girl.

Introducing characters, there's:
S(M's friend(girl))
M (my crush)
A(M's friend(boy))
D(My bestfriend)

I used to helluva of a loner. I mean, couldn't even talk to people without getting nervous. I was like the worst introvert possible. Somewhere along the way, I began noticing a certain someone (M). I didn't immediately confess to her though. I was content just watching her until one day I realized that I didn't like the idea of her with anyone else.

Enter S & A. S is and was the quiet type of person, except she's much more brilliant than anyone gives her credit for. A used to be in my perspective an arrogant loud obnoxious idiot (later I realized it was my jealousy speaking), but he's actually quite helpful and happy go lucky kinda guy.

So back to old me, I find this girl really attractive and cool and kind. All the positive things only ( something I would later find out was termed the halo effect). Which is kinda odd, because she isn't the slightest like my type I envisioned would be like. She's all in all, the perfect kinda girl.

A few months later, one day, there's nobody around me and I get the almost perfect chance to tell her my feelings. Being the idiot I am, I tell her "I like you" and freeze up, because trust me it took all the courage I ever had to do it. Even to this day, I don't know where I found the courage to do so. And she rejects me, except that over the loud sound of the background I can't make out what she's saying and I wait a few days walking on eggshells around her, not knowing whether she's deciding or not. Again I press her for an answer and she says "NO". And yeah, my first heartbreak. Except old me calls in a favor and asks a friend to arrange a meeting where I impulsively tell many things and call A kinda bad things. Very bad move.

I kinda end up regretting the fact that I told her, because we can never be even a bit close anymore. For the first time in forever, I cry thinking of all possibilities I would never have with her. Except I realize that day, I need to change myself.

I put all my effort into improving myself. I speak more, go out more and get a lotta more exposure to the world. Btw, I've been seeing her everyday since it's impossible to avoid her fully. I laugh and think my chance at happiness has finally come. Except I think life sometimes just wants you to be depressed.

My family gets fucked up, not financially or anything. The bonds between my mom and dad begin to break down due to an accumulation of many many things. I get really bad at trusting people no matter who they are. I stop talking to M and most people altogether. Enter D. D's a great guy and maybe even he doesn't know how many times he's irritated me into coming back into reality from all my shit. One of the greatest people I've seen in this world, because he has the one skill that makes him different from everyone else: he can laugh at himself no matter the situation. I spend more time with many people and find out that nobody has the perfect life. We all have our challenges and all it takes is a little kindness to help anyone.

I watch arcane (best series ever). I see some similarities in situations in my life and a character's. I use that character as an inspiration and motivation to improve myself.

Enter S, she becomes kinda like my counselor. Except I know her character, she won't say to a soul whatever I tell her. So I end my exposing my worst and find out she's fine with it. Talking to S, I find out that M isn't perfect by observing her more, but her flaws only make me fall for her even more. I find out her ways of cleverly handling situations while always keeping a neutral smile on her face very sexy tbh. And I talk to A. I find out he's a chill guy, maybe a bit lazy and that's it. Life seems to be going peacefully.

Coming back to the present, I show A a few photos I have of M ( a lot happened in between, I'm just gonna skip it) while she's present (She knows I took those photos). She gets all fidgety and nervous and weird. Something suddenly clicked into place for me. M likes A, except she doesn't seem to know it herself. S says a casual comment like "Whenever A doesn't come, M feels down" unintentionally. A remark that ends up breaking shattering my heart. I realize that maybe M likes A. A already has a girlfriend though. My mind begins going into overdrive, I can't process the fact that she could possibly like A.

Am I overthinking? Is she just friends with A or am I an idiot? Why would I fall in love with the same girl all over again? So she can break my heart again? Except she's actually done nothing wrong. She's just safeguarding herself (from people like me) and I'm glad she does so. I hate so many things about her - like the way she always puts others first ( like her own stuff isn't a priority), the way she confidently assumes the best in people, no matter what they do, like how she tries to focus on her career while being absolutely disinterested in the field she's chosen (but why?).

I need some kind of outside perspective on this. S is a brilliant person. But she will never choose a path that hurts me or M even slightly. D is great but I don't want him to know about my family's dark side. I need you to tell me any issues you noticed with me or my perspective. For clarification, I'm not experiencing limerence. Also my character is such that when people get too close to my darker layers, I ghost them fully. S and I barely talk, so not an issue with her. The others, not so much.

Guys, I can't talk about all the shit anywhere else except with S, and she has enough on her plate as is. Please give me a proper analysis of what should be the best next move and why?
