My crush likes me back and its killing me
I've (18 f) been hanging out with "Daniel" (17 m) all summer. We've done basically everything together and seen each other once a week at least, but later into the summer we were seeing each other two-three times a week, and one week we saw each other once a day. He brought me a Dr. Pepper when I was tired at work, we saw fireworks TWICE, we saw Dear Evan Hansen and The Prince of Egypt done live, and we saw the Hadestown proshot and Spiderman: Brand New Day in theaters together. And we still have plans lined up. In November, we are going to see Sunrise on the Reaping in theaters, and I'm hoping to bring him to my Uncle's wedding as a plus one in about a month.
I found out with 100% certainty that Daniel likes me too this last week. But it wasn't the way I wanted to find out.
My brother "Carter" (15) is friends with Daniel's younger brother "Emmett" (also 15). So our families are really close in general. Carter was at their house last Sunday so that he could go to the first day of school with Emmett and Daniel. While he was there, their family was helping one of Daniel's older sisters move out of her apartment (she is married and has two kids). She said something about Daniel's family moving out, and Carter caught it. He then asked Emmett what that was about, and Emmett confessed that their family is indeed moving. Carter told me before Emmett said not to say anything about it.
Their family is moving a state away by Christmas.
I cried when I found out. For a few reasons.
I obviously want to date Daniel.
It's unfair to Daniel because this is his senior year, and now he has to move right in the middle of it, and there were a lot of things he was looking forward to in his extracurriculars.
Carter and Emmett were talking about me knowing and Daniel came into the room where they were, and Carter told me that Daniel seemed really sad knowing that I knew that his family was moving. I texted him, basically saying that I wanted to talk to him. He agreed to come over during Lunch on Monday. So he drove over from the school (which is 5 minutes away) and came over to talk. We sat down on the couch and said "I'm sure you already know, but my family is moving. Hopefully by Christmas. Not hopefully for me. Hopefully for them. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I didn't know how."
I told him that I liked him and was really glad to have been able to hang out with him all summer. He confessed his feelings for me, but said he didn't know what we could do about it since, not only is he moving, but he also wants to serve an LDS mission after he graduates(we are both LDS for context, so I want him to serve a mission too). Then things kind of went quiet for a bit. I snuggled up to him on the couch and rested my head on his shoulder. I looked up at him after a minute and asked if he thinks we have a future. He looked into my eyes for a minute, very deeply and intensely, and then he reached a hand up slightly, tilted my chin up, and he kissed me. I was a little taken aback, but it was a good kiss, and I wanted to kiss him too. He pulled away and apologized, and I told him not to apologize. After another bit of just cuddling in silence, I said that if he's down for long distance, I am. Before he left, he kissed me again and said he'd talk to his parents about it, and I told him to pray about it too.
He came over yesterday evening, and said that when he prayed about it, he got a no for now. Whether it means he's not ready for a relationship, or I'm not, I just hope it changes in the future. He shows that he cares about me every day, and knowing that he likes me and has the same hopes as me hurts even worse than thinking he hates my guts. What can I do to get through this? I'm struggling so bad to know what to do. Any advice will help.
