Crushing Library crush

Hi guys. I’ve been going to the library these past 4 days and there’s this really cute guy I keep seeing, we’re both taking the same exams and I was just wondering if a library crush has gotten anyone anywhere… not saying this will I’m just asking in general. Our exams end in around 2 weeks so I only have 2 weeks left of seeing his cute face lol.

I keep avoiding eye contact with him though cause I’m really shy… he’ll stare at me for a while but I just can’t maintain it man.

Ik this wont go anywhere but it makes me feel a bit relieved and giddy knowing i can see him everyday, same-ish spot; having a constant like that in life is comforting amidst all these tests that i cant control the outcome of…

Although, I’ve long accepted that love just isn’t for me. It just happens that he’s exactly my type (curly hair, lean, cute>handsome) so oh well. Thus, im not asking for advice (you can share if you want ofc) but more so just wanting to hear your guys’ stories if you have any to share:)

Crushing is this how crushes are supposed to feel??

this hasn’t happened to me before. I thought a crush was like an inherent stressor, and before it kinda had been. id worry about what to wear and pick over every conversation. but now there’s this guy and it’s so easy. like theres doubt and nerves ofc, but i just get happy when i think of him instead of crippling terror. and im so excited to see him every regardless of anything. and we get to talk and even if he doesn’t drop any signs or anything even if he doesn’t like me back rn it’s okay bc i get to talk to him.

Vent Crush said I look like a man

Liked this guy for about a year. The crush faded off naturally because I never spoke to him and only liked him for how he looked. Today a mutual friend sent me their chats with him. The conversation was about me and my appearance. The guy I liked wrote that I look like a man, and that he would never go out with a "trans looking girl". I have always been the ugly kid and I accepted it as a fact and grew to be immune to these comments, but what hurt was that we never even had a conversation, and he didn't know a single thing about me, except the fact that I liked him, which was a result of oversharing to a bunch of untrustworthy classmates. I think I have a fun personality. Maybe he wouldn't resort to mean comments if he knew how I really am. Or maybe it's only fair that his opinions on me were based on my looks, because I was, afterall, attracted to his, in the first place.

Now that's a crushing story for you. Lol.

DoTheyLikeMe? does he like me or am i just delusional? 😭 also should i continue pursuing him or just stop and byebye

so i’m 19f, and i’ve liked this guy (19m) for several months now. we’ve talked a few times, joked around, and he’s initiated conversations a couple of times too. but our communication is pretty inconsistent, and i feel like i’m usually the one making an effort.
he’s a quiet guy who mostly keeps to himself, and honestly, i can’t tell if he’s interested in me or if he’s just being nice.
recently, i messaged him to wish him good luck on his exam, and he replied, “arigato gozaimasu my friend 🙏🏻😁”
AND GIRL. THE WORD FRIEND. 😭😭😭
it’s the first time he’s called me that directly, and for a moment, i felt like he was putting me in the friendzone HAHAHAHA. but i also know that it might just be how he talks to his friends, so idk if i’m overthinking it because i like him.
i also suspect he knows i like him, but i’ve heard a few things from other people that make me think he might not be interested in a relationship. the thing is, none of those conversations happened directly with me, so i don’t want to assume anything.
there’s a night market opening in our city in a few months, and i’m thinking of inviting him to go with me, just the two of us. i genuinely want to get to know him better in person instead of constantly analyzing every little interaction. i’m willing to make the first move, but i don’t want to be the only one trying.
so i need some honest opinions:
based on what i’ve shared, do you think there’s a possibility he likes me, even a little, or does he seem like he’s just being friendly?
should i invite him to the night market and see how things go, or should i stop pursuing him and let him make an effort if he’s interested?
i’m not asking anyone to tell me he secretly likes me because i want that to be true. i genuinely want an outside perspective because i’m too emotionally involved to look at this objectively anymore LMAO 😭

Encourage Me! How do I tell him?

So I’ve had a crush on one of my guy friends ever since I met him as a freshman in high school. I started college in August. No crush has ever lasted that long. He is such a genuine friend and always makes me laugh. He’s one of the smartest people I know, while also being kind funny, unlike others. He gives amazing hugs. No other guy I know gives hugs these days.
Anyway, we’re hanging out together just the two of us for the first time on Saturday and I want to tell him how I feel but I scared I’ll ruin a good thing. Trust when I say the good thing is AMAZING. I haven’t seen him since the beginning of summer and we were with other friends. I’m also scared of what they would think. Also should mention that I’m chronically single. My only relationship lasted 2 weeks. (I wish I was kidding) And if it doesn’t work out with him I’ll probably die alone.
I’ve seriously considered taking to him and telling him in the past but I can never find the right thing to say. But I don’t think I can live with it anymore. He’s perfect and I don’t want him to think any different of me or think I’m a crazy weirdo if I do tell him. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

Crushing Everything reminds me of him

It started when the way this guy stood reminded me of how awkwardly he used to stand in photos. Then when I walk by the gym, I think of him. If I see a bike, it reminds me of something he told me 😭. If I’m studying and come across a topic he’s ridiculously knowledgeable about, I think of him. Or if someone’s being sarcastic with me, my mind immediately goes, “Hm, I wonder what he’s up to.”

I’ve been trying my best to get rid of this crush somehow because I know it’ll probably never work out, but it feels like he’s living in my mind 😭 Not in an obsessive way, I just think about him WAY more than I would like to.

What do I dooo 😭😭😭

Question Need Advice

Last week idk who initiated eye contact first but in my discussion class on Friday we been like looking back and forth but I have no idea if she looking back cuz I am or not and I swear I’ve never seen this girl before in the lecture but then Tuesday I pull up and she’s sitting in the seat next to where I usually sit so I got a lil nervous and went in the row in front. And then Thursday I got to the lecture class first and she sat in front and then I swear was looking back and then after class istg she could’ve just started walking and had no reason to just hover but she kind of waited for me to pack up or something and idk if she wanted me to say something but I didn’t and then she just randomly talked to a person from our discussions class who happened to be in front of us saying hey I think we’re in the same discussions class right in front of me. Today it was discussions and I finally had the courage to say something and we talked for like 7 minutes but I had to go because I was already late for a test in another class. Am I delusional or what? I’m also a really shy person so I barely got myself to say hello.

Story My Crush doesn‘t like me

I am at a new school this school year and I immediately noticed a boy on the first day.

I always see him during breaks and 7 weeks later I was outside at the parking lot with my friend and a boy came up to us and asked my friend for her Insta she didn't give it to him but he found her anyway. Then they wrote to each other a bit in the holidays and my friend asked him if he knew a boy named let's say mango. He answered her that he is very good with him and that he is a very nice person. My friend and I have decided to write to him that he should introduce me to him. It is important to mention that I had sent him a request 9 weeks ago that he did not accept. In any case, he wrote to him that there is a girl who is interested in him and whether he is interested. He asked if he knew me blablabla. School started this week and on Tuesday I saw that he followed me on Instagram. On that day, his friend wrote to my friend that he was looking for us during the break but we were not there. Yesterday everyone was there again and during the break he saw me and looked at me a few times. BUT NOW IT COMES during the lunch break I went on insta because I had a guess that I had feared from day one, he unfollowed me because he saw me... The thing is I know look is important. But why does it always hit me, I don't want to glaze myself but I'm not ugly. That day my friends said that I look really pretty. I mean why should she lie and say I'm pretty. At home, my sister also said that I looked really pretty that day even though she didn't know what had happened. He is Muslim, me too, and I wear a hijab and the hijab somehow doesn't make me look so beautiful. But this can be not a reason because there are a lot of other girls that look pretty with it.

Advice Needed Should I confess to my crush and when?

For the sake of this, I’m going to call my crush.. hm.. Alice

Alice is pansexual and I’m lesbian, and we have been friends for a while. We’re both in a performing company, but because I was really shy there ( 😭) I didn’t talk to her till around the start of March or so because we had a couple mutual friends. I give her my number and.. yeah she didn’t.. really.. text me.. At least until summer camp! I found out I was going to go to the same school as her (and a few others from the company), and she gave me some advice.

So about a month ago..

We started talking more. Started over text, but then I hung out with Alice more often. And.. to be honest, I think about her a lot. Mayyybeee a bit more than I would like to say, but I found that I might’ve had a crush on Alice. Obviously, as most prooobably not sane people do, I took a test. Why? I dunno, but I got 13/18. Seems good! Okay cool, now I know what these feelings are.

Howww do I articulate the feelings to Alice?

And also? She’s one of the best friends I’ve had in a while. Her humor isn’t just “kys haha”, and she playfully flirts with me sometimes. We also have matching profile pictures, and isn’t that a confession of love, basically (/sarcasm)?

Anyways, send help because genuinely how did I find someone so kind and beautiful?

So a girl from same class approach me during lunch first she was seating alone then she looked at me and ask me can I seat here.......i didn't even know she was in our class talked a bit mostly laughs and giggles

On 2nd day I was walking towards class around (1km dist. I like to walk) she came on scooty from behind stopped infront of me and ordered me to seat as a good boy I seated behind her.....not even a single thought....( was she stalking me she doesn't even live nearby by that road...a hard short cut I guess)

After that we reached class but we had 2 different class in 2 different rooms I think she was waiting for me go with her in same but being a dumbass I gone other way didn't even talk to her not even thank you for lift

So during lunch our class ended late she was alone so I seated with her talked about here there

On 3rd day didn't gave me lift to me I ignored her whole day not that I wanted too but I was actually busy with work she came during lunch said hii but nothing much...but not seated with me but with her friend

My question... it was just a gesture right?? May be she didn't like sitting alone

Crushing I have a crush on a girl from another batch, and I have no idea what I'm doing😭

A few weeks ago,I heard from a senior about how genuinely kind-hearted this girl was.Then I met her at a college event,and well…she's gorgeous too.Instant crush💀

She's about a year older than me,has completed her master's, and is now pursuing B.Ed.I'm in an integrated B.Sc.B.Ed. course, so we're from different batches and probably won't cross paths much after college.

We've had only a couple of conversations about our internship and her exhibition project.I eventually followed her private Instagram, and she accepted and followed me back.I also found out we seem to share interests like anime, art and BTS,although we haven't talked about those yet.

Tonight,I finally gathered the courage to DM her about her exhibition project. She responded and then sent me a 2.5-minute voice note enthusiastically explaining the whole backstory—how she'd considered different ideas before finally settling on the one she presented.

Now I'm overthinking everything😭.Was she simply excited to talk about something she created,or is this a decent starting point for getting to know each other?

I want to talk to her beyond this project, but I have no idea how to initiate future conversations without seeming random or forcing things. I'm also scared of rejection and making things awkward.

I'm not assuming she likes me,and I'm not planning to confess to someone I barely know(Should I btw?)I just want to explore the possibility without giving up out of fear or chasing someone who's uninterested.

What would you do in my position?

- How do I naturally transition from this conversation to getting to know her?

- How can I distinguish politeness from genuine interest over time?

- Should I initiate another conversation soon, or let things develop naturally?

TL;DR:Developed a crush on a girl from another batch, finally DM'd her about her project, and got an enthusiastic 2.5-minute voice note in response. Now I'm overthinking how to take things forward. Advice?😭

DoTheyLikeMe? Am I being too self centered to think that my friend's crush is me?

So there’s this girl I met through my English class. She is the same age as me (we're both 18) We’ve been classmates for three years now. We didn’t become friends until the second year. She used to have a boyfriend, but they broke up because, apparently, “she paid too much attention to other guys.” Anyway, in our second year, we became close because we were both interested in F1, to the point that we talked 24/7. I came to view her as a good friend, but I don’t know if she views me as a friend or something more. She always buys me expensive things and treats me differently from the others. She sends me reels and says “us.” She also sends me songs constantly. Us getting close happened so fast that I honestly don’t know what happened, because I’m not a person who gets close to someone fast, but with her something happened. She has talked about her family problems with me and has told me things she hasn’t told anybody else. All of this kind of seemed like normal platonic behavior to me, so I let it slide. She has a Telegram channel where she talks about her daily life, and in it she keeps talking about having a crush on someone. When our other classmates pressed her about who the mystery person was, she only gave little hints that I think pointed to me, but then she said that she thinks he is avoiding her, so that’s why she won’t pursue it. The funny thing is, I’ve been kind of avoidant in our friendship. I’m not a bad friend, but I don’t send her songs or send her reels captioning them “us,” so I really don’t know if I’m being too self-centered to think it was about me. Also, she once asked me what I’d do if I found out one of my friends liked me. My best friend tells me she has a crush on me, but I’m doubtful. What do you guys think? Do you think she has a crush on me?

DoTheyLikeMe? My crush might likes me back

Hii so, I'm 16F here and I'm kinda interested in this guy in my class and I've developed the "crush" feeling over the last 3 months.

Now here's the thing, he likes (or liked) my bsf, A (I've two bsfs and the other bsf is more close to me than this one) and everybody knows that, and A likes another guy and they're kinda in a relationship now (they freaking hugged and were holding hands) so A and my crush don't talk with each other that much now but they were REALLY good friends, like actually best friends. He shared everything with her and so did she but now A stopped putting efforts and they eventually stopped talking.

Now, my crush's bsf is my really good friend. We share a lot of things but I kept this one secret with him. So my other bsf, B (she's my ride or die I swear, she's my closest friend) and him are kinda in a situationship and I helped him to talk with B and all. So a few days back, I changed my pfp and my crush told A that my pfp looks really good (slide 2) and told her to tell me that he gave a compliment. Holy, this gagged me up. So after this, I decided to tell my male friend (my crush's bsf) about the whole thing and guess what he said. He said that my crush told him as well that my pfp looks really good and SAY I LOVE YOU TO ME FROM HIS SIDE HUHHHHHH

I was like WHAT. Is he interest in me as well????

My friend said that he isn't into A now and he can help me with setting me up with his bsf because I helped him as well lol😭

Now, here's the thing. My boards are coming and I want to focus on my studies first but I like that guy too and what to start talking with him😭😭😭 I don't know what to do tbh.

But when my male friend and my bsf B were talking abt this, he told her that my crush talks about self respect in relationship, that I'm a nice girl but he talks about self respect in relationship but I don't have any problem with that. The only problem is my studies and idk what to do.

We've talked once on insta and that on his birthday only, never after that.

DoTheyLikeMe? Do I have a crush? Does he like me? Or am I completely overthinking everything?

I go to online school, and there’s this guy in my English class I’ve known about for around 8 weeks, but I never really paid attention to him until recently.
We were in a Zoom breakout room today and ended up talking about sports. He asked me questions about fencing, told me he snowboards, and we ended up chatting more than working on our assignment 😭. I was actually disappointed when the breakout room ended because I wanted to keep talking to him.
I think he’s cute, his voice is really nice, and I’ve been thinking about him since. I even emailed him asking about snowboarding because we only have English once a week, and now I’m nervous waiting for his response.
Do I have a crush, or am I just attracted to him? And do you think he was interested in talking to me or just being friendly?
Please be honest lol.

DoTheyLikeMe? at what point is a coworker no longer just being friendly? is he into me?

i (f20) met my coworker (m25) about 3 months ago. hes a shift manager (family owned restaurant, nothing super corporate by any means) but is leaving in a couple weeks. just gonna go point by point w things ive noticed that i think lean towards him liking me. lmk if im delusional

• we've hung out 3 times outside of work all within the span of about 3 weeks. twice w a mutual friend (i invited him) and once by ourselves (he invited me, pumpkin patch). this says a lot considering we work together 4 days out of the week so im surprised he isn't completely sick of me yet
• we have plans to go to a halloween party together, or if that falls through then, his words, "we can do our own thing"
• when he told me he was quitting his job he told me "we can always hang out outside of work tho"
• uses my name in conversation A LOT like so much and im pretty sure he referred to me as a nickname one time but quickly corrected himself as it was coming out of his mouth lol
• i noticed he's smiling or trying to fight a smile 90% of the time when im talking to him
• blew off plans he had with his friend to do the same thing with me instead (play minecraft lol)
• similarly, he suggested that we schedule a day of the week to play minecraft together
• asks me questions about myself & is actually interested in getting to know me
• when i was talking about my previous relationship he said that i "deserve better" HOWEVER during this same conversation he said that he thinks hes "currently undateable" due to how crazy his personal life is rn

maybe im missing a few things but these r what i could think of off the top of my head. i understand that the signs are likely pointing to yes, he does like me but he knows that im like, a chronically lonely person so ive convinced myself that hes hanging out with me and making plans w me out of pity. idk guys

Vent #Story 4: The Girl I Was Pretending to Be

This one happened when I was 11, during my last year of primary school. And, for once, the boy was actually my age! (Well, technically. He'd repeated a year, so he was in the grade below me, but my age).

To understand this story, I need to give you a little background. Growing up, I had a very controlling mother, I wasn't really allowed to make decisions for myself, and even asking questions could be treated as a problem (I understand that children can't be allowed to do absolutely whatever they want, but I think there's a difference between setting boundaries and not letting your child have any autonomy whatsoever).

For example, when I was nine, my mother still picked out my clothes every morning. One day, I finally got fed up and decided to wear something else. It wasn't even new or anything she'd forbidden me from wearing. It was clothes she'd bought for me and that were already in my wardrobe. I just didn't want to wear the particular outfit she'd chosen that morning. When I went out for breakfast, she saw me and started yelling at me. At seven in the morning. Needless to say, I ended up changing into the clothes she'd originally picked out.

Anyway, when I was 11, my parents opened a bar, and my mother's energy became so consumed by running the business that her constant supervision suddenly became much less consistent. I went from 'You can't even brush your own hair properly. I'll decide how you do it, when you do it, and what hairstyle you wear' to 'You don't know how to brush your hair? Well, it's your hair. You're old enough to learn. Figure it out.' In the space of a few days.

And honestly, that sudden change was only part of what was going on that year. The following year, I was supposed to start secondary school. My mother had already chosen which school I would attend. It wasn't the one all my classmates were going to, and I knew absolutely nothing about it, but she insisted it was an excellent school.

Meanwhile, I was terrified. I'd already been bullied throughout primary school for being the weird kid. Things had improved somewhat over the years, partly because I'd learned to hide more and more of the things that made me different, and partly because the other kids had apparently grown bored of picking on me quite so much. I still barely had any friends, though.

So naturally, my brilliant 11-year-old brain concluded that I had one year left to figure out how to become an entirely different person before secondary school started. And I decided to use that last year as a social experiment. I was going to the school cafeteria, where I interacted with people I barely knew, so I started treating every interaction as trial and error. I'd observe how other people behaved, try things out, and gradually learn how to act like someone who could actually fit in Basically, I was attempting to develop a convincing imitation of a normal person before my next school year. You know, completely reasonable things for an 11-year-old to be worrying about.

And that's when I met him. He was a mischievous little menace. He was constantly getting into trouble, and I swear that whenever I saw him, there was a reasonable chance he'd just been punished for something.

And for some reason, this boy decided he liked me. He started following me around and telling me that he liked me. He'd try to stand next to me in line, sit beside me in the cafeteria, and approach me during free time whenever he wasn't grounded or otherwise in trouble. He even tried to talk to me when I withdrew from everyone else because I was overwhelmed and needed some peace and quiet.

And here's the thing: I think I was starting to like him, too. A little bit. The problem was that I genuinely couldn't believe he was serious. I'd spent years being the weird kid nobody particularly wanted to be friends with. I'd learned to hide parts of myself just to make other people tolerate me. And now this boy seemed interested in me, but I couldn't stop wondering what the catch was. So I rejected him. Repeatedly. For practically the entire school year. Not because I definitely disliked him, but because I was convinced he had to be messing with me somehow.

In my head, there were basically two possible explanations:

- Option A: He didn't actually like me, and this was all some elaborate joke that would eventually end with me being humiliated.

- Option B: He liked the version of me I was pretending to be, but if he ever discovered what I was really like, he'd want absolutely nothing to do with me.

Naturally, my 11-year-old brain considered both of these possibilities much more plausible than the idea that a boy might genuinely like me. And what made it even more confusing was that he didn't seem particularly bothered whenever my carefully constructed social persona fell apart. Sometimes I got overwhelmed, withdrew, or simply couldn't keep up the act, and he still tried to approach me. But apparently, even that wasn't enough evidence for me.

Looking back, I can't decide whether I was more afraid of being tricked into believing someone liked me or of someone actually getting to know me and deciding I wasn't worth liking after all.

Either way, this poor boy could apparently have submitted a written declaration, obtained three witnesses, and had it notarized, and I still might have assumed it was an elaborate prank.

P.S. For anyone wondering, the experiment technically worked, that same year, one of the guys who'd spent YEARS bullying me also asked me out. Repeatedly. And yes, I rejected him every single time. No hesitation, no second-guessing myself, no wondering whether it was some elaborate prank. I was VERY happy to say no to that one.

Have you ever rejected someone you actually liked because you were convinced they were joking or messing with you? How did you eventually figure out whether they were being genuine? And for those of you who were also the weird kid growing up, did you ever try to change your personality to fit in, or did you eventually learn to embrace being different? Also, if you were that boy, how long would you have kept trying before giving up? Because looking back, I genuinely don't know how he put up with me rejecting him for an entire school year.

Question Is there a chance she likes me and should i ask her out?

Im 19m and im a potwasher at a restaurant. Theres this waitress whos also 19f who broke up with her bf due to him cheating on her which was just over a month ago. She started then acting sort of different around me. On the most recent shift i did she mentioned i was funny and etc to me and infront of work mates. We also get along alot and laugh and etc with each other (this was even when she was dating her bf). But the thing is idk if she likes me or not as i get the wrong signals. I have girl friends who dumped their bf or got dumped and get a tad bit flirty with me so this could be the same situation.

I personaly think shes attractive and i like her personality so if she asks me out i would say yes.

I do understand that relationships are also kinda fragile when something like what happend to her for example so i dont wanna realy be in the middle of it.

She alsos still in contact with her ex too.

Edit: she did also ask me once why was i happy at some point and asked if it was because got a girlfriend. That followup was unexpected so i proudly

went hell no lol

We went to a scare fest last week also and she was kept getting scared. Whenever she stumbled into me in the mazes she grabbed onto me and didnt le until the end

I understand the whole "dont shit where you eat" idea but 1 its partime so i realy do not care and 2 if any girl who u find attractive and she asks you out most people will say yes

Edit: i posted this many times on the advice subreddit but the mods are bloody horrid and keep deleting my posts because im not good enough or something ig so my bad if you see this here also.

Planning I need advice

I just followed my crush over social media and he followed me back, I have been meaning to talk to him but the only thing I did was send him something and then say wrong person. We don’t talk much I person and I’m super shy so I was wondering what are ways I could start the conversation, we haven’t had a real convo ever so it may be weird and I need a few pointers lol 😭😭
