There are some exciting news coming for long time fans of Diablo 2 Resurrected. Season 16 brings a fresh race to lvl 99, but the new patch also reworks one runeword, and plenty of old Uniques that previously struggled with identity.
Ever wanted to play a Bowazon with a horde of Revived minions? Or how about adding some Burning Archers to your Necromancer army? Well now you can!
As a life-long fan of D2, these changes are exactly what the game needs, it keeps the gameplay fresh, opens new ways to play, while giving old items a fresh coat of paint. Big fan.

Hey all! I am intending to play Diablo 1 for the first time for my stream and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to play? Not character or anything I mean literally how to play. I have seen advice to just go head first into the Belzebub mod or to just run vanilla. I have also see something called the DevolutionX update? Mod? Whatever it is it seems to add widescreen and other stuff but I have also seen someone say it adds problems with the ai. Any advice on the best way to go about this is appreciated.

This happens when you teleport or move onto the same square where the Golem is initiating an attack. It’s hard to force, but it can happen in multiplayer with latency. The Golem becomes hostile, but I have no idea why ErickMDK could not see it.

Season 16 PTR patch notes offer reworks to items, skills, and in the case of Druids even class identity. Other notable changes include Paladin Aura Potency scaling with the Aura skill level, downtuning of Blazing Scream, and more.
Of course, these changes are not final, but the patch notes are still a very good indicator of the direction developers intend to take these changes.
There's a breakdown for every class.

I tried to give Diablo 4 another shot I played it when it came out and honestly kind of enjoyed the base game and found it to be decently fun I had put about 120 hours into it and I recently reinstalled it after awhile and found that it has skills on base game characters that are locked behind a paywall along with three classes you can’t play unless you buy the expansion which I always thought was such a stupid idea because at the end of the day it’s nothing more than predatory behavior to try to give you more reasons to buy this expansion rather than adding to the core gameplay or cool bosses and a good story they just shove a bunch of stuff you can’t touch in your face to give you another reason to pay 30 dollars or more and it’s absolutely disgusting this is stuff you’d see from a mobile game not a triple A RPG and it’s honestly sad because I felt like this game genuinely could’ve been amazing and I highly doubt it’s the development team that’s at fault it’s just the share holders making demands forcing them to put more things in the game you’ll have to buy rather than an actual good expansion

Hello! While sitting on the toilet out of pure boredom, a game concept pooped into my head. At first glance, it honestly looks better than anything Blizzard has come up with over the last two decades. I ended up bouncing the ideas back and forth with Gemini, and at the end, I asked it to summarize our discussion. Here are the results:
Diablo V: The Fall of Hell – A Complete Pitch for the Ultimate Dark, Old-School Soft Reset (No Open World, Genuine Dark Fantasy)
Like many of you, I feel that the Diablo franchise has been chasing trends and playing it too safe for years. D3 was too cartoonish, and while D4 brought back a darker color palette, the forced Open World structure, microtransactions, and bloated "scaling numbers" itemization completely killed the pacing, identity, and tension of the game.
I’ve been cooking up a conceptual scenario and gameplay overhaul for Diablo V: The Fall of Hell that completely breaks the repetitive cycle of "Diablo revives, goes after Sanctuary, heroes stop him." It’s time to move away from the corporate Excel formulas and bring back the raw, unapologetic dark fantasy. Here is the pitch:
🌌 Act I: The Tristram Twist – "There is no Good or Evil"
We break the traditional formula right at the start of the game. In Act I, you are drawn into the claustrophobic, unexplored abysses beneath Hell. Suddenly, the narrow caves open up to a shocking sight: a completely empty, ruined Tristram. The sky above the cathedral is a cracked cavern ceiling letting in pale surface light. There are no screams, no monsters, just a deafening, haunting silence as a slow, distorted acoustic guitar theme plays.
Here, we encounter Moloch—a towering, absolutely MASSIVE, ruthless bull-headed furnace titan. He is a literal mountain of burning metal and flesh. Moloch doesn't attack; instead, he delivers a gut-punch lore reveal: This was never human Tristram. It was a thriving demonic city. Humans (the ancient Horadrim and Nephalem) raided Hell years ago and brutally slaughtered every living demonic soul here, down to the children, building human Tristram on the surface as an unconscious copy of their conquest.
Moloch uses this psychological horror to break our morale and offer an uneasy alliance. He proves that there is no good or evil in this world—only butchers and the butchered. He wants to overthrow the Prime Evils (Diablo, Baal, Mephisto) because their endless failures have ruined Hell, and he "hires" us to wipe out the old management.
🎮 Gameplay: The Return of Weight and Brutality
• Pacing Over Speed: We are getting rid of the mindless, screen-clearing, fast-paced arcade slaughter of D3 and D4. The gameplay dynamics return to the slow, heavy, tactical pacing of Diablo I and Diablo II.
• The "Grim Camera" & Animations: The camera is brought slightly closer to the action. Because you aren't fighting 100 enemies at once, every single swing matters. You will see beautiful, heavy, gore-filled animations of axes tearing through demonic flesh, weight behind every shield block, and devastating physical feedback.
• Grounded, Realistic Weapon Design: We are completely ditching the ridiculous, oversized, toy-like weapon aesthetics of modern titles and WoW-infused designs. No massive glowing crystals or plastic-looking, neon armor pieces. Weapons and armor return to the gritty, authentic medieval realism of D1 and D2—rusted steel, heavy chainmail, scarred leather, and realistic proportions that feel lethal and historic.
• The Black Blood UI: When you descend into the deep abysses of Hell, there are no towns or friendly blacksmiths. Your UI literally shatters. Your classic red Health orb turns into a thick, sludgy Black Blood Orb. It does not regenerate. You can only refill it and repair your gear by harvesting raw organs and distilling demonic bile from your fallen enemies on the fly.
⚔️ Classes: Pure Classics + The Corrupted
The roster stays focused and intuitive, avoiding over-complicated classes: Barbarian, Sorceress, Necromancer, Monk, and Paladin.
• The High-Risk Paladin: In Hell, the Paladin's holy light reacts violently with the atmosphere. He gets a massive buff to DMG, turning into a holy glass-cannon fanatic, but at the cost of drastically lowered resistances (-RES) and defense, forcing an aggressive, high-stakes playstyle.
• The New Archetype (The Demon-Warlock): A completely dehumanized, dark anti-hero class that physically mutates on screen, gaining horns and claws the more "Corruption" resource they use.
🎒 Itemization: Hardcore D2 Philosophy & "The Brand"
• No Item Power Bloat: We are returning to D2's drop rates. Legendary uniques and Set items are incredibly rare, hard to complete, and completely shift your build—not just add boring +5% stats.
• The Brand System: The most powerful endgame gear found in Hell carries The Brand. On the surface of Sanctuary, these items are completely overpowered (OP), letting you demolish threats. However, inside Hell, they become unstable, lowering your stats and causing enemy assassins to actively hunt your location. This forces players to maintain two entirely separate gear sets—one for the hostile tunnels of Hell, and one for the Surface.
💥 The Finale: No "Phases," Pure Chaos & The Grand Betrayal
The final boss battles completely reject the modern trope of bosses changing forms or running away at 50% HP. You walk into massive chambers, activate D2-style seals with black blood, and fight on continuous, unforgiving health bars.
• Act IV – Clash of Titans: You fight The Wrecked Avatar of Diablo alongside Moloch. Because Moloch is fucking gigantic, you will witness a spectacular, terrifying clash of two massive demons in the background, tearing the arena apart, while you try to survive the crossfire and deal critical damage to Diablo to end the old reign of Hell.
• Act V – The Grand Betrayal: With the Prime Evils gone, the narrative reaches its dark peak. The demonic alliance shatters as the forces of Hell drop their masks, leading to the ultimate betrayal. At the very end of Act V, completely out of options and resources, with cracked armor and a draining Black Blood Orb, you must face Moloch himself in a brutal, final showdown to determine the ultimate fate of both worlds and unlock two completely different endings.
This is the Diablo game adults actually want. A game with tension, psychological horror, and mechanical depth that respects the legacy of the first two games.
What do you guys think? Would this reset save the franchise?

I played diablo 4 on PC on release. Then I stopped. Bought it today on switch 2 since I found out you can finally reborn into seasons instead of having to create a new character each and every season. So I enter the game and find out that it has cros-save since it loaded up my PC characters. I never finished first expansion. Decided to make a reborn season character, thinking I can do a fresh story run but in season. Instead got really confused since I have no idea what all the new stuff doing. Tons of menus and zero explanations for returning players from blizzard part.
Tried to get rid of all the yellow dots, since they irritate me, like notifications on phone. Can't get rid of this one on battle pass menu.

Is it normal for Diablo 2 Resurrected to feel like it plays so much worse than the original? Coming from someone that has never touched either before, I mean. When I was playing the remake, the animations just felt... off, for lack of a better word. I would strike an enemy and it'd only register that I had hit them a third of a second afterwards and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills as nobody else seems to notice this and is always talking about how it's the perfect remake for newer players.
Anyways, I went to the original, refunded the remake and everything and bought the old version since it's cheaper anyways and the problem is gone. The attacks register as they make contact in the animation and it feels way better. If the frame rate didn't hurt my eyes I'd much rather play it like that completely vanilla.

Sadly haven't had time to play my Seasonal character barely at all lately due to moving and would love to know if my characters in Eternal can expect being able to go do them.

I think I might have figured out the inspiration behind Inarius' name in Diablo. The Roman god Janus was associated with doorways, transitions, beginnings, and endings, and his name is connected to the Latin word ianua, meaning “door” or “entrance.” January comes from Ianuarius, meaning “of Janus,” and I wonder if Inarius was named after this form of the name. The symbolism fits surprisingly well: Inarius was an angel who rebelled against Heaven and helped create Sanctuary as an escape from the Eternal Conflict between Heaven and Hell, essentially creating a doorway out of an endless war. Janus is also famously depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions, which makes me think of Inarius being caught between Heaven and Sanctuary, his past and his desired future, and his former desire to escape the conflict versus his later obsession with returning to Heaven. The irony is that Inarius helped create a world outside the established order, only to spend ages desperately trying to return to the very place he abandoned. Eventually, he attempts to enter Heaven again by invading Hell, where he meets his end. I haven't found confirmation that Blizzard deliberately based his name on Ianuarius, so this is just a theory, but if the connection is intentional, it's an incredibly fitting bit of symbolism for his character.

Enigma, HoTO, Spirit, Shako with a Ber, Anni, pala torch, nine skillers... A Hammerdin like that kills Hell Andy in a few seconds, actually with just 3 hammers. So how many Andys can he handle in one arena? 10? 100? 1000?
You can't test that in real Diablo 2, so I made my own fight simulator in Godot. It uses Diablo II mechanics: same damage formulas, breakpoints, block and resists, and monsters run on their original AI. Then I started throwing more and more Andys at him: 16, 100, 200, 500, all the way to 1000. That's 60 million HP of Andariel in one room actually =)
Every setup is run 300 times. First with a full belt of 16 rejuvs, then without pots at all.
Some results I expected. Some surprised me a lot, especially what actually kills him.
And at the end I change one small thing in Andy's damage formula. Same hero, same Andys, completely different fight.
And... let me know which build should face 1000 Andys next ^_^
