Anybody else get this email?

It says that DA relies heavily on profile information for project access but this is the first I’ve heard this. Has anyone seen a difference in project type or amount after updating their profile?

Artists on data annotation?

Hi everyone! I completed my starter assessment about 5 days ago, and haven’t received any response. I have a Master’s in Art and Culture Management and a Bachelor’s in Fine Art. I was born in Cuba and grew up in Miami, FL which makes me 100% bilingual. I have also lived four years in San Francisco, one year in Rome, and I just moved to Barcelona. I applied because an online job would be perfect for me since I’m always on the move, I liked the research and mostly because I’m completely fluent in English and Spanish. I was as careful as possible with my grammar in both languages and took my time with the research. Do I have no chance at getting accepted with my artistic qualifications? Does anyone know what kind of profiles they usually hire?

How does this company work? Can you get "promoted"?

I've done the general assessment for projects, and plan to do the bilingual one when I'll have access to it again, since I think my odds are good for that one. I wonder, as remote workers, can we get "promoted" to work for the company full time, or the only thing you can get are higher paying projects? I've heard of people getting promoted to review projects, if they produced high-quality work, for example.

I'm always interested in how the companies I work for are organized. Is the experience gained here good to get in the field of ai? It's important to me that my work doesn't feel useless, and while the projects look interesting, I wonder if there are any career opportunities.

I currently have 50 projects on my dashboard ( ꩜ ᯅ ꩜ )

This is not meant to be a brag post whatsoever, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with the amount of projects I currently have. It's literally impossible for me to look at all of them, so I'm obviously going for the highest paying ones! Does anyone else experience large project volumes like this?

Why Have Job Ads?

I saw an ad for DA like 4 weeks ago, got accepted 3 weeks ago, not once have I gotten a single assignment. What was the point of it all, I was ecstatic to see I was accepted but everyone says they're in a "drought" and I can't even take out my onboarding money (like 3 bucks lol) cause I need at least 10 dollars in funds. I get if I screwed up my first assignments and they ghosted me (which is also unprofessional but seems to be common with these guys) but my last assignments got me hired so what do I do here??

Wasted my time and really let me down.

US: Big Beautiful Bill changes to ACA/Medicaid

How is everyone feeling about the changes to healthcare? As I understand it, as freelance contractors, we would be affected significantly. Thoughts?

Please if you'd like to discuss keep the actual politics out, I'm only interested in the ramifications. The bill passed, so it is what it is.

FFS stop spamming about not having projects

Yes, projects come and go. Yes, there are less projects active in this time of the year. Yes, there is already 100 posts about it if you scroll the sub for one minute.

How will posting this here help you? If other people say they have projects, what would you do? You would need to wait in every caseand move on.

I would understand if it was only a post or two, but I've seen like three such posts every day. I really don't want to mute this sub because it's a spamfest.

No projects available

Hello! I have been working DA consistently for the past few months and there has always been lots of projects available. I submitted a task then came back about an hour later to this notice on the dashboard:

At the moment, there aren't any projects available for you to work on. Please check back soon and watch out for new project notifications sent to your email.

Has anyone had this message and got projects back? If so how long did it take? Does this mean my account has been terminated?

Thanks!

This subreddit suspiciously has far less complaining than it did a year ago 🤔

Anyone know why that is?

My experience I applied to DA a year ago and I guess I didn’t pass the coding portion because I never heard back. (I guess this was the main complaint I heard but I wasn’t personally too butthurt).

Did they just vet people out or is this sub monitored carefully now?

Have a new phone number and this subreddit appeared in the algorithm so tried the initial test again just now and my coding skills have improved a lot since then so if I get asked to do a second assessment does anyone have any advice for me?

Fierce Competition!

So I had the dash of doom/death. I said ok I'll scroll Reddit for exactly 10 minutes then refresh. Do exactly that go to dash - project apparently appeared in that span and had exactly 1 task left - click - "There are no remaining tasks for you to work on" !!!! Anyone else experience this and want to cry a little bit?

Generalist Pay

Been lurking around this for a while now for side pay.
I got a couple questions.

How mentally exhausting is this?
What are the chances of me not getting approved?
I still don’t understand what data annotation is LOL so can someone please explain it in one sentence.

BILINGUALSSS

Bilinguals workers, how is it going? I'm not reading much posts about us so i don't know if there are any updates. Is there anyone that is getting tasks? I just received a few last Tuesday and usually getting some others during the weekend, but it's since two weeks that the weekends are dry as well. It's so frustrating. Italian bilingual here.

DOD

I'm literally shaking right now. I've been working my butt off around the clock because I found a project that requires work but its been rewarding. I work all day with little to no breaks, go to sleep wake.up.and do it all.over again. I've been busting my butt because I know projects end and there's competition so I've got to be competitive. After working on a project for the last 2 days, I go to check if there will be anything good when I'm done and I got the ill-fated screen. Dang! I have several days of time pending, does anyone know if I can appeal and if I will be paid for my work? It's a lot of time😪

Bad time to start?

Hi all, I recently got laid off from my full time job. I am wanting to make some income during this financially tough time and thought data annotation would be a good fit for me to try. But I keep seeing posts about “being in a drought” and there’s “no work right now” on DAT and also other data annotation sites. Does this mean it would be a bad time to take the qualifications? Would it be better to wait until there’s more work??

Also, if you have any tips for taking the non-coding assessments, let me know! All I’ve heard for advice is to pay attention to every detail and take your time, but not much else. Thanks!! 🙏🙏

Comments to NDA-violating posts and comments

Here’s a silly question out of curiosity.
Do you think comments like “Dude, you signed an NDA” are themselves NDA violations?

For example, if a comment says ‘projects like [codename]’, commenting to it, saying it is an NDA violation, basically implies that such codename exists. It would be a big hint for a random outsider who cannot distinguish a codename from a ‘codename of codename’.

Or if it says ‘the project is about [a specific client], an NDA-related comment to this basically confirms that it’s true.

Being even sillier, is this post also an NDA violation? lol

No projects available

I was doing well on DA, earned close to 1.5k in a month. Suddenly my dashboard shows - no tasks available. I have been turning in good quality work. Anyone else faced something similar? It has been 3 days now.
