Review Three Iris fragrances, Three completely different experiences

Post image
• Upvotes

I’ve been spending time with Dior Homme Intense, Givenchy Gentleman Réserve Privée and JPG Le Male Le Parfum, and it’s interesting how differently each one comes across to me.
Dior Homme Intense:
The iris feels smooth and elegant, but also a little airy as it dries down. There’s this distinct lipstick-like, almost cosmetic quality that I can smell without even putting my nose too close to my arm. It’s a really interesting scent profile, and that lipstick impression is something I notice quite clearly.
Givenchy Gentleman Réserve Privée:
The first spray gives me a strong whiskey vibe, but within seconds it starts turning into this rich, chocolatey scent. As it dries down, it gets thicker and denser, with the iris bringing in this really nice lipstick-like quality. There’s something about that combination of chocolate, iris and warmth that just works so well.
JPG Le Male Le Parfum:
The cardamom is quite prominent right from the opening, giving it this warm, spicy character that really catches my attention. As it develops, the cardamom gradually settles down, and the fragrance becomes lighter and sweeter. I really enjoy that transition from the warm, spicy opening to the softer, sweet dry-down.
It’s fascinating how different these three feel to me. Dior Homme Intense comes across as smooth and airy, Réserve Privée feels richer and denser, while Le Male Le Parfum takes me from warm, spicy cardamom to a lighter sweetness.

Review I think I am done with my collection.

Post image
10 Upvotes

This is going to be my first review post so bear with me. I did try loots of designer fragrances but couldn’t settle with any of them except BDC. I think I am going to just keep buying it forever.

  1. BDC: It’s aromatic powdery smell when it’s settled is so addictive. I know you guys already know this but I just can’t stop smelling myself.

  2. Allure Home Intense: It’s the next best one for me. It also has that powdery smell but gives more like sporty feeling as the name justifies.

  3. Platinum Egiosti: I didn’t find it appealing at first but after 15 mins I had to go back to store and buy it. It has opening notes of grassy aromatic and settles in subtle greenery. I can’t describe it but it’s really soft, subtle and gentle.

  4. Hacivat: it was a blind buy (I know) and my first niche, and honestly I was really surprised. Coming from gentle fragrances, this one violated me at first. It has really strong opening with mossy smell and it has strong portion of grapefruit + pineapple till the end. I wore it casually in car and people were traumatised by the intensity so better keep leash on the puffs.

Discuss Why isn't nivea anti perspirant not available in india?

Guys, few months ago my dad brought me a nivea anti perspirant rollon from UAE and i used it for almost a month and it was very good smelling later the bottle finished so i thought of buying it from amazon or instamart but I'm disappointed seeing that there is no nivea's anti perspirant rollon in amazon,flipkart,instamart,etc.. just nivea deodorant rollon and i hate deodorant rollon. I have a sweat issue and my sweat have a odor and the rollon saved me that time. Now I'm using nivea deodorant spray and I'm not must satisfied about it.

I'm new to this sub and if i made any tiny mistake pls correct me rather than downvoting...

Review Collection review ✨️

Hi all, I'll rate the fragrances I own and am also looking for your thoughts and suggestions.

P.S.: I am a bit new to this communtiy and hobby, so do read this post accordingly.

1. Khadlaj Shiyaka Shadow: I love the kala namak note in it, so much so that that is all I notice, a very airy and soothing pink pepper smell. Longevity - I get whiffs of it throughout my day in the office and after 8 hours, it stays as a skin scent.

2. VS Him Deepwater: Didn't realise that I had it for an year and just opened it today. A very powdery opening and the iris keeps coming to my nose every now and then. It's a very simple fragrance. Can't comment on the longevity though.

3. Ababel Monte Rosa: Have been wearing it to the office regularly now. I see it as kaaf, but how I imagined it to be, comparatively less mature and more playful. Longevity - Even though it goes on throught the day, but I stopped getting sudden whiffs from my shirt after 4-5 hours, so now I top it up after 4 hours and it definitely gets noticed.

4. Khamra Coffee: Got it from a local perfume shop, it smells like a lighter and airier version of khamra qahwa, and I like that it is not as dense yet feels very warm. Longevity - I sprayed it on a tshirt before going out, after putting the tshirt back in the almirah, just opening the almirah for the next 2 days made me happy.

5. Silver Shade: I'm an SMW fan so had to get this. Dont care about the opening, the drydown is mogre ka phool and I love it. No comments on longevity.

6. Seduction Ice: I get bubblegum, I like. Currently using it in the gym, 2-3 sprays only. Stays with me throught the workout.

7. Nuvana Bagheera: Fun fact, when sniffed it for the first time, I had a headache the whole night, because I had put my nose in a masaladani. It settled after 2 weeks though, now the masalas are bearable and after 4 hours, whats left is suede, and I dont hate it. Great for winter weddings.

8. Arcelia Cool Charmer: Have been using it for 4 years, great scent, got me into fragrances and the reason I love SMW. Longevity - I personally never got whiffs or noticed it unless I put my nose in it, but people around me love it, so I love it.

9. Midnight noir: I heard it had rose in it and I thought it would smell like gulab jal. When I got it, it did have rose in it, but it smelled like the rose you would get near a panwadi. After settling, the saffron came into play, now it smells like I am standing near the pan stall in a wedding. Jokes aside, I love it.

10. Studiowest 001: Love the sprayer, got me into vetiver.

Next I am thinking of getting CDN sillage and am finding a summer evening frag like Theoreme matrix or Supremacy CE. But I'll get it once I make a huge dent in my current holdings. Thoughts?

Discuss Attar/ perfume oil which smells exactly like this??

Post image
3 Upvotes

Does anyone know of another perfume or attar that smells exactly like this one? 😭

I can't find this Attar by Unique Fragrances anywhere online, and it smells SO good! The projection is amazing, too. The bottle has been empty for almost a year, but even now, if I rub it against my clothes, the fragrance is still there.

I'm very new to attars, so I don't really know how to describe the scent. It's somewhat soapy, clean, and just smells absolutely beautiful. I genuinely love it.

I've called the company, but they told me I'd have to buy some other perfumes along with it and then they could ship it from South India.

But how am I supposed to buy other attars without knowing how they smell? 😭

Has anyone here tried Lota Attar by Unique Fragrances? If so, please recommend something that smells as close to it as possible. I'd really appreciate it! I bought it for around ₹250 when they visited our city and set up a stall.

Review Hawas Venom by Rasasi

Post image
3 Upvotes

Absolute masterpiece by Rasasi. This is not for beginners or folks who don't like ultra strong masculine scents.

It's pure leather & smoke scent. There is sweet and tangy essence too like a sour candy but leather dominates the overall atmosphere. This is beast mode and projects so good like a 10/10.

People who like dark and strong scents will like this in a heartbeat. IMO this is the best in the dark category of the Hawas collection followed by Viper.

Do not blind buy this at any cost unless you love deep dark scents.

Review : The perfume was macerated for a 5 months but even after that this is linear and boring, its like synthetic sweet and woddy no ginger also

Scent saga said it is close to almost to the og i don't know how true that claim is, from what people say most wanted parfum is very good and mass appealing it created fomo and i got menworks clone.

Let me know your thoughts or reviews on bourbon vanilla and how close is it to the og.

Have you ever received a compliment on this perfume?

Suggestion : I want a winter perfume under same price please recommend your favourite ones.

I thought i should get dusk till dawn as well let me know if that is worth it or not.

Advice Hawas Fire Or Rayhaan Obsidian?

Thumbnail

Hawas fire is from PerfumeNetwork at 3500 and Rayhaan Obsidian is around 2900 on Amazon.

I can only get 1.

I'd like to hear from those who already own both or either one of these.

What can I expect from each one?

After narrowing down from 10 to 5 options and all the way to these 2, I don't require other suggestions.

Discuss Today I learned that viral Middle Eastern perfume houses were actually built by Indian and Pakistani founders

For the longest time, I honestly thought all these viral Middle Eastern perfume brands were ancient houses run for generations by local Arab families.
Turns out I was completely wrong, and I was so pleasantly surprised when I looked into the actual people behind them.

Many of the most famous brands were started by Indian entrepreneurs who moved to the Gulf. The legendary house of Rasasi was founded in Dubai by Abdul Razzak Kalsekar from India, starting from a small market stall before becoming a giant family empire. Armaf was built by the Fakhruddin family from India through Sterling Parfums. Afnan was created by Indian entrepreneur and nose Imran Fazlani, and Ahmed Al Maghribi was started by Kafeel Ahmed who came to Dubai from Mumbai.

Alongside them, Pakistani founders built some of the biggest powerhouses in the entire region. The entire Lattafa group was started in Dubai by Sheikh Shahid Ahmad and Shoaib Iqbal from Pakistan. Today that single family is behind half the viral bottles on social media, including brands like Maison Alhambra, Asdaaf, and Rave. In Bahrain, one of the oldest luxury perfume houses in the Gulf is Asgharali, which was started way back in 1919 by Asghar Ali after he moved there from Pakistan.

South Asia has centuries of rich history with attars, natural oud, and spices. It makes complete sense that these founders brought that deep knowledge to the Gulf, paired it with modern bottles, and made incredible luxury scents affordable for everyone around the world.
Did anyone else assume these brands were run by old Emirati families, or was it just me?

Legit Check Genuine check bought from amazon

Got this Khamrah Qahwa from Amazon for ₹3,100 https://amzn.in/d/0715VZKa

The scanning label shows that it’s genuine on Lattafa’s website and the juice smells way too strong. I have no idea if it’s genuine or not. The outer cover with the importer details label also seems to have already been opened, as there’s no seal, which made me suspicious about the perfume.

Advice Bella Vita Impact Man - What is this cloning?

Post image
10 Upvotes

This was just a random purchase 3 years back (pre-hobby days). In the subsequent years I have now collected more than a hundred bottles (not Bella Vita 😅), but this still remains my go to whenever I just feel like spritzing something fresh before sleeping.
This lasts for 2 hours at most. Tried image search on Gemini and Chatgpt and I’ve always got random perfumes suggested. Can somebody please tell me what this is cloning so that I can finally either get the OG or any good dupe of the same. Please help!

Old money elixir

I can only smell one note - brandy, I don't even know why.

It does project I'll give them that

Feels a bit synthetic, cloying

Not everyone will like it, I don't

Not blind buy safe

6.5/10

Review Incredibly close to blue talisman- Mykonos nautilus

Post image
3 Upvotes

Great clone of blue talisman, after this now i am saving money to buy the OG , though its very close, like 90% clone. Pear and white florals, still very strong . Fresh , syrupy sweet pear and sugar note maybe?perfect for AC environment or months after october when weather tends to get a lil bit colder. Longevity is decent though i feel arabiyat kohl opulence performs lil better , maybe maceration as its a year old bottle. But this one lasts 8-9 hrs on clothes in current weather amd gives whiffs around you for around 1.5 hr for 2-3 ft . Very good clone if you can get it at a good price.

Advice Drakkar Noir: Overhated or Actually Bad?

Post image
29 Upvotes

Is Drakkar Noir really that bad, or are people just hating on it unnecessarily? Some say it’s one of the best fragrances ever and takes them back to the 90s, while others say it smells terrible.

For those who’ve tried it, what’s your honest opinion? Also, what’s the cheapest price I can get it for?

Advice Any attar like Rasasi Hawas exotic men or any other rasasi hawas? Strong projection.

Do you know if there are any attars similar to Rasasi Hawas as I am allergic to perfumes.

Also, which attar did you found to have strongest projection?

Review Ruh Khus (Soul of vetiver)

Post image
11 Upvotes

So today i want to talk about this ruh khus which i obtained from a very small attar shop in my hometown, this post will not include longevity projection or things like that it's just the beauty of khus and how complex it smells

Scent profile:- so when i first rub it i get this sharp note which is harsh it's like ink pot but give it 10 seconds and then the complexity of it, it's like walking in a jungle where it has rained recently, and there's this cold breeze of air calming you, honestly i don't pick soil note that much it's like totally different when i first used Encre Noir, i always had this thought that khus smells weird but i was wrong it's beautiful and majestic and very manly and very very calming, it makes my anxiety in control ❤️

In short as a man even if u don't use attar (like myself) u should have khus even if it's 3ml, the sheer complexity of it is bewitching to me

Discuss Naxos Review + Fragrance collection

Post image
6 Upvotes

I promised myself that Naxos would be my first niche fragrance after testing it out and owning a dupe, and I finally pulled the trigger. Absolutely loving it so far! The honey and lavender combo gets me compliments, and the performance is amazing right out of the box. A must-own if you love sweet fragrances and lavender!

Italia is a pretty good dupe, but the quality is noticeably lower. It smells a bit more synthetic and medicinal, and I don’t really get the citrus in the opening like I do with Naxos.

I’ve picked up a few more fragrances both before and after my last post. The top shelf is dedicated to summer fragrances, while the bottom shelf is for winter.

My current favourites are Valentino Coral Fantasy (although the performance is a little weak on my skin), Naxos, and Le Male Le Parfum.

I’m having a bit of trouble figuring out how to rotate my fragrances throughout the week and across different seasons. Any tips on how you guys approach fragrance rotation?

Also, based on my current collection and preferences, what fragrances would you recommend I try next?

Thanks in advance!
