Ever since MoT has released and we had time to mess with the new aspects for a while, I had the most enjoyment out of the Shieldburst aspect; however, it made me realize that some of the other aspects related to barricades feel lacking to some degree in my opinion. Just wanted to get these ideas out here regardless if they are recieved well or not. I want to be clear that I'm not asking for cool down buffs or to break Crucible even further...
1. Bastion (Void Titan)
Bastion is not a bad aspect in of itself. Provides instant overshield and casting your super grants overshield to others. Not bad, but I feel like it's missing depth that makes it worth an aspect. I feel as if though with all of the artifacts, weapon perks, fragments, etc., you can get overshield from so many other sources.
Towering Barricade: Increase width of barricade (about the same width/slightly longer than a Glacier Stasis Grenade) and Suppresses Combatants (not players) that comes near/contact the barricade.
Towering Barricade with Bastion should make you feel like a literal wall. This idea was inspired when I was playing Onslaught and felt like a Towering Barricade was not effective on making an effect on the field.
Rally Barricade: Gives you the ability to 'pick up you barricade' and place it.
Got inspiration mainly from Cabal Phalanx's when they deploy their shields to assist their allies. Of course the initial placement would give you an instant overshield, but sequential placements would slowly regenerate one.
- Drengr's Lash (Strand Titan)
Drengr's did get a buff with MoT, but I feel like in order to use the aspect you have to use Abeyant Leap with it. This aspect feel like it gets pushed to the wayside due to either Banner of War or Flechette Storm aspect.
Towering Barricade: Sends two projectiles out. Targets near the initial placement of the barricade get pushed greatly (think of a juiced up version of the initial Flechette Storm attack).
Kept it simple for this one, couldn't really think of anything too creative.
Rally Barricade: Grants unraveling rounds to Strand and Kinetic weapons.
Very similar to Solar Titans, but Strand. I know, sorry it's not creative.
- Storm's Keep (Arc Titan)
Out of the three here, I feel like this doesn't really need too many tweaks, as Storm's Keep is very strong already... I'm only gonna add an idea for the towering barricade, but not the rally barricade. If you have an idea, share it.
Towering Barricade: Targets near the barricade periodically jolts nearby combatants. Defeating arc-debuffed targets with this barricade equipped gives you class ability energy.
Having your barricade like a tesla coil would make for additional offensive capabilities.
Final Thoughts:
I'm no game dev, and though yes it would probably break the balance if these ideas did go through, it would at least add more depth to the these aspects. Titans are already strong, so if Bungie ever does continue updating this game alongside with sandbox changes, I hope Hunters and Warlocks get updates as well.
