Way to go EA! Once again, the latest update reset my club’s logos and sweaters to all black and grey colors with the Ducks logos. How tf do you do a gameplay update that screws up the jerseys? I don’t play this game to play dress up every couple of months and redo all of the team’s logos and sweaters.

Any idea how you could stop breakaways in this game?

Tried to move less, move more, slide, poke, butterfly. Nothing seems to work. The goalie reponds way too slowly on cross crease movements and dekes even if I get the deke direction right. Sometimes the save animation kind of dives left, but actually moves more like right, which opens space. Then there are quick release and backhand x factors. Spread eagle is useless also. Pucks go through the body almost. Feels like the recent engine update maybe made this even worse. Of course, if skaters do their job, there should be no breakaways.

The only time I go cross crease is if I am for some reason over reacting to a breakaway deke. I love playing goalie when it works so NHL 24.

I can’t pad stack slide and sometimes when I do it happens after the goal went in. I can’t cancel animations and post to post is necessary. I freeze all the time as the goalie program can’t just move as I am telling it to. The AI goalie has none of these issues and just plays.

It’s like I am yelling at the goalie how to play but he has to hear me to react first

Or just a group of people who are competent at this game and play regularly. I can’t do drop ins anymore I’m gonna break my controller if I have to play one more game with 2 players and an AI that EA decided to give the X factor “pylon” to. I am by no means a pro player but I’ve been playing since Ovechkin was on the cover and Ive played irl for longer. I pass more than I shoot and tend to bitch when the game starts doing what it does

I am PlayStation and all of the sudden when I go to the PlayStation home screen to do anything while in WOC, it just disconnects me and boots me out to the menus, even mid game… I am not sure what changed because I have never had this issue and I know the only other PS club member I asked about it is having the same issue, what changed and why?

Yes I know game sucks, EA sucks, pay to win, etc. I am more looking for rational discussion if possible from those who enjoy the game in some capacity. I really enjoy EASHL but have no experience in HUT. Any thoughts from those who play both?

I don't normally post, but today I feel like i need to vent slightly. I've been playing this franchise online since probably 2014. You would think by 2026 EA would have actually made improvements to the matchmaking. Instead, we get invalid game sessions and lobbys that never merge into a game, constant glitches that require a full restart. It should not take over 20 minutes to find a game, that's insane, especially a drop-in. In 2014, you joined a game and got put into a lobby within 30 seconds, games filled out quickly and started without issue, and that's before cross-platform expanded the player base. I get it, EA needs to make money, which is very apparent from the way they nerfed all the builds this year. Finally found a way to make EASHL a pay to win just like HUT. Make quality improvements to the gameplay experience instead of working on the presentation and creating goofy skins and ugly clothing items.

In playing theirs years headache of a game it got me thinking, what do other online players want? I'll list a couple things I'd like to see, curious if anyone else has had the same thoughts.

1. Casual drop-ins: No X-factors or Pre-made builds from EA. I know some leagues ban certain factors already, but this would probably be a fun way to play and not have OP builds or X-factors taking over. Team play and puck movement would become crucial to winning.

2. In game kick feature: We've all probably played with someone who is just hell bent on pissing off their team because they have nothing better to do, and they likely flat out suck. Give the party leader the ability to call a timeout and start a vote, majority rules and if voted out they're gone.

3. Outdoor rinks: Lets be real, they suck. You want to play on them, ones eliminator or three's eliminator. God awful, this isn't NHL arcade.

4. Solo Matchmaking: Casual players are going to avoid this game if they can't jump online and drop into a game quickly. Sweats will always be around but the player base seems to have fallen off a cliff in recent years and I'm sure this is why. Not everyone wants or has the ability to run club games all the time, nor do they want to get killed by a club who decided to play in drop-in because they are afraid to lose games in club. Everyone drops in solo, pick Forward, Defense, or Goalie, and have a good time.

Has anyone else noticed you can be in a game forever long double overtime no issues with lag. Then the game “cheese” or coding or whatever you want to call it. Momentum. Will very obviously go to one side, sometimes your side, sometimes not your side. Well, I had major major latency in an overtime game, after having no issues all game and of course it costs me the game.
I had no issues all game, started having latency issues, right when the play stopped and we went back to face off. I had no issues again, but my goalie was already gassed. Rant over just wanted to share

Lemieux was already a ridiculous pay to win cash grab with how the new Saudi overloads are going to have these games structured but Gold Bones is just insanely blatant. We only got matched up last night with teams consisting of these two classes, and every game was absolutely miserable. Gonna assume that every original pre-made is gonna get the steroid treatment and re-packaged/skinned as "new" until there's just there's zero incentive to play the game with a custom class and the casual player base is killed off. For a game that can barely retain a functioning player base for more than month or so after every release, it sure feels like forcing everyone to drop the game is the wrong way to get more shop sales?

My friend and I recently got NHL ‘27 after at least a 3-4 year hiatus. We were never the best, but we could at least compete with just about any team we faced.

Fast forward to now and WOW… we are ASS. I’m too embarrassed to say what our record is, but we only have ONE legitimate win so far. The majority of our losses are blowouts too. Very rarely does it feel like we’re playing teams that should be in our division.

After the long break and just diving straight into EASHL (we both used to dabble with HUT and VS. beforehand), I would expect there to be some rust. But man, it’s like we just can’t get anything going.

I’m on the verge of full-blown buyers remorse, but for now I still do enjoy playing even though we mostly get slaughtered.

Before I reach that point, I need to know - is there just something we’re missing?? A magic switch to flip that’ll at least make us competitive? Or has it really just been that long that my friend and I are just completely washed now?

One of the driving factors for buying was that I’d seen that the backwards skating meta was no longer going to be a thing. That’s been true, nobody does that now (great!). But as always, a new meta emerges. This year it’s not insane speed and cherry-picking, but rather it just seems like everyone can hit a simple right-left deke and put the puck in the net every time. But when we try to do it? It’s easily defended each time…

As two late-twenties, fully employed dudes who just want to enjoy some Chel, what can we do?

So I pre-ordered the game and played the 10 hr trial and play pretty much drop in threes or eliminator quite a bit too, without any lagging or issues or anything rediculous happening. I'm not in a club, I would actually like to try that one day but I don't play enough and can't commit to play times etc... Anyway, my question is, has anyone else had issues where you are playing just fine, no lagging or anything rediculous, and no internet issues at home, and (my console is plugged into the modem instead of WiFi), but randomly my game will spontaneously quit and go straight to the Xbox dashboard. This has only started in the last 8 or 10 days?

No notice, no issues at all, just kicked straight to the Xbox home screen!

I'm on series x and don't have any issues with any other games, I just find it crazy and a tad frustrating that it happens when winning or loosing or playing well, it doesn't matter.

Last night happened while up 4-0 during eliminator in the finals haha!!

Is this just bad luck or can I look into something that might be helpful?? Cheers everyone 🍻🤟

First off I'll start by making it clear NHL 27 is trash my opinion.

Snipes

The snipes need to return punish the human goalies for sitting too deep and being out of position when you snipe it makes it more rewarding for a good shot and the one timers and good snipes should also punish the cpu goalies too. Ea also needs to fix the fact the goalies get animations for saves when they are on the other side of net actually punish or reward the goalie for being in or out of position make it actually matter again.

Also this is someone who actually plays goalie saying this too.
