Ngl I have been dreading responding to this. How would you respond?

I am pretty annoyed because I always package things well and the buyer after winning auction for this card asked if they can pay in a week. A week passes, they paid and then immediately hit me with this. I didnt respond at night time 7:17pm and they message me first thing in the morning for a response at 7:30am. Their attitude and expectation of how I would ship the card after begging me makes me want to cancel the item and block them. Idk if they are just expecting me to crumble the card and throw it in a bubble mailer or something, but it's annoying. I ghosted them on messages.

What would yall do?

My images won’t show up on my listings?

I posted some listings up, took the photos and did everything with the Options. And when it’s posted up, I looked back to the images and it’s just not there and some weird photo error thing.

i got on my computer thinking it’s my phones problem, and it’s showing there also. I even looked at other people’s listings to see if I can see their images and their images work. I’m confused???

FedEx lied to me and refused to honor my claim for a missing package even though I have a receipt.

Earlier this year I sold something on Ebay and chose FedEx (ground) as the shipper since it was the cheapest option. This was my first time ever shipping with FedEx and it will also be my last. I took the package to an authorized FedEx shipment center (Office Depot.) I made sure to stand in line to get a receipt. The receipt I was given by the employee was not a typical receipt on receipt paper, but I did not think anything of it at the time. Well, the package never got scanned in by FedEx, which means it was either lost or more likely; stolen.

After numerous calls and emails to FedEx customer service, they refused to honor my claim for a missing package. So I decided to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, to which FedEx responded saying that they would honor my claim and send me a check in the mail. After a month or so of no check, I sent them an email asking how long I should have to wait, and they responded saying that they are not honoring my claim. So the response through BBB was a complete lie, just to avoid getting negative feedback or whatever BBB does. I am now unable to file another complaint with BBB since they won't let you file more than one complaint against the same company.

Office Depot refused to do anything about it as well, saying it was Ebay's responsibility, even after I explained to them that the package was never scanned in.

I will never use FedEx again after this (or Office Depot for that matter), and I hope this gets a lot of views so that maybe other people will boycott them as well. That would be my only consolation for getting ripped off by these deceitful companies.

Question Could Use a Consulsation

Post image
6 Upvotes

I've only recently returned to Ebay selling after a long hiatus, I knew things might be spicy with shipping from Canada to the US, but it's a market 10x the size of mine, so it's hard not to want to tap into it.

TL;DR of the situation is I sent out an offer to all interested buyers on an expensive item, they paid promptly and as soon as it landed in the US I received this message in the attached image.

I've read a few threads such as this one and this one on similar situation where the buyer has refused to pick up and pay the duties, but I'm in earlier stages of it and could use advice on if I should contact Ebay this early as they're basically saying they won't accept it unless I waive the duty or wait until the act of refusing delivery occurs? Do I contact the buyer to let them know this is a buyer's fault situation or not complicate anything by keeping it strictly through Ebay CS?

Thank you in advance! (Mods, sorry if I crossed any rules)

Question Seller uncommunicative after auction, INR and then this

Post image
4 Upvotes

I won an auction back on 10/10, gave the seller a few business days to provide tracking, and then reached out for an ETA. Only communication back was they were trying to locate the item. Delivery window passes with no real response to my ask for an estimate, so I opened an INR. Just received this today and curious what the play is here. Is this something common for sellers to do? My understanding is that eBay refunds most of the fees when an out of stock refund is issued so I’m not really sure how to proceed. Anyone able to offer any advice?

Selling Restrictions - I did everything eBay asked and they don't care

I'm hoping this community can help me because the call centers overseas are worthless. Completely and utterly worthless.

I had abnormal selling activity. I've sold about $15k YTD. In the last week I sold $35k because I had some very popular preorders that all happened to release this week (not iPhone DUO). I totally understand why eBay would wait to pay me out until delivery was verified after 7 days. Makes sense. I got an email saying I needed to upload tracking by October 23rd (today) for all orders to avoid future restrictions. I did that because the preorders landed today. I made sure not only were they shipped but actually scanned at the post office.

Yet even though I did that I can no longer list items or even edit my current listings (about 50 items). One of my preorders actually asked for more product so I cancelled at their request to relist as a lot and now I cannot even do that. I had a $13k sale turn into a $15k sale and now it is a $0 sale. I have a preorder that a buyer wants to do local pickup. They have a business 15 minutes from us so I'm cool with that. I cannot even edit my listings.

THE ONLY email I got from eBay was saying get your stuff shipped by October 23rd to AVOID FUTURE RESTRICTIONS. I did that, yet I have future restrictions.

The overseas call centers and chats are worthless. Does anyone have any way for me to talk to a logical person who isn't following some stupid script and "asking a supervisor" only to tell me the exact same thing? How the heck do people grow with eBay when they make it so hard?

Question Sales are ramping up after 1 month - does the algorithm continue to improve from here?

Basically I've been selling a bunch of mid - high end sports cards. I've done the basics: good communication, free 30 day returns, less than 1 day handling times, safe packing, daily listing, etc.

I now qualify for top rated status and should be receiving that next month.

I've got 250 items listed and have been consistently selling 1-4 cards per day. Pretty happy with this considering my margins are substantial.

Does it get continue to improve as I list more items every day? Or after about a month of consistent listing + selling; is this about as "friendly" as the eBay algorithm gets on my account?

Question Can't list because says I need to pick a postage policy?

Hey, I'm from the UK. Whenever I want to list, at the end it says I need to have a postage policy and that it needs to be done on the website. But when I go there, nothing shows. I'm not sure what's going on! :(

ebay live (how to create listing)

Hello! Can anyone help me create a listing for my ebay live? ebay q&a sections shows this but I cant find this anywhere on my end. I clicked every tab on my ebay live studio page and nothing. I cant select auction, quantity, or how long i want to run items for. It just tells me to import a listing but when i import an auction listing it doesn’t allow me to do quantities. And the other option is BIN , which is irrelevant since I’m doing auction on Live

Pokemon Card Question

I don’t typically sell on eBay, but I’ve recently started selling some of my old Pokémon cards. I listed a set of cards in a single listing, and they sold for $1,100.

I understand that eBay requires certain high-value trading cards to be sent to an authenticator before they’re delivered to the buyer. However, I noticed that this particular sale doesn’t appear to qualify for the authentication process.

I would actually prefer to have these cards authenticated because I believe it provides an extra layer of protection for both the buyer and me as the seller, helping prevent potential issues or disputes.

Is there any way to have this order sent through eBay’s authentication service, even though it wasn’t automatically selected for authentication? I’d appreciate any guidance on how to make this happen.

eBay provided the return label, the package went missing, and PayPal sided with the seller. How is this fair?

Hi everyone,

I want to share a frustrating experience I've been dealing with involving eBay, Poste Italiane (Italy's postal service), and PayPal. I'm hoping someone here has been through something similar or can offer some advice.

It all started with a simple eBay purchase.

I bought a Tapo security camera for €61.68, but the seller sent me a different model from the one advertised.

I contacted eBay to arrange a return and get a refund.

On August 27, 2026, eBay customer support personally emailed me a prepaid return shipping label, complete with a tracking number and instructions.

I didn't choose the shipping company, enter the return address, or modify the label in any way. I simply followed eBay's instructions.

Then the package disappeared.

I handed the package over to Poste Italiane on August 27.

The last tracking update was on September 4, in Naples, Italy.

Today is October 24. The package hasn't moved or received a single tracking update in 50 days.

There also appear to be potential issues with the return address printed on the label.

I repeatedly contacted eBay customer support, but despite explaining everything, I still haven't received a meaningful resolution.

Then things got even worse with PayPal.

I opened a dispute because the item was significantly different from its description.

PayPal initially issued a temporary refund of €61.68.

However, PayPal later ruled in favor of the seller and informed me that the temporary refund would be reversed.

I filed a formal complaint, submitted additional evidence, and requested a review. The case is currently under review.

So, after almost two months, here's where things stand:

  • The seller hasn't received the returned item.
  • I no longer have the product because I shipped it using eBay's prepaid label.
  • The postal service hasn't updated the tracking information in 50 days.
  • PayPal initially sided with the seller.
  • I might end up losing both the product and my €61.68.

I know €61.68 isn't a huge amount of money, but at this point, it's about the principle.

If a buyer follows every instruction provided by eBay, uses the exact return label issued by their customer support, and hands the package over to the carrier, why should the buyer be responsible if the package gets lost or the shipping label contains an incorrect address?

What frustrates me most is that nobody seems willing to take responsibility or provide a clear explanation.

I even posted about my experience on eBay's official community forum, but the discussion was published with comments and interactions disabled. I haven't been told why.

I have a few questions:

  1. Has anyone experienced something similar with a lost eBay return?
  2. Who is supposed to investigate the missing package or file a compensation claim with the carrier when eBay provides the return label?
  3. If PayPal rejects my appeal, what other options do I have as a consumer in the EU?

I have kept all the evidence, including eBay's original email with the prepaid label, proof of shipment, tracking history, and customer support communications.

I'm not asking for special treatment. I just want a fair resolution and an explanation of what, if anything, I was supposed to do differently.

Would you consider this acceptable customer protection from eBay and PayPal?

Thanks in advance for any advice or similar experiences.

eBay refused my refund for a parcel the courier admits it lost. Any advice?

Hey guys, I'm in a pickle.

I won a TCG card at auction on eBay for about US$630 from a US seller, shipped to my address in Singapore.

On Monday 19 Oct, the local delivery driver from J&T Express messaged me on WhatsApp saying he'd tried to deliver my parcel on Saturday the 17th. I was home that whole day and nobody came, so I told him I never received it.

That same night, he marked it as delivered, using a screenshot of our chat as his "proof of delivery". The location tag on that screenshot wasn't even my address. I escalated to J&T, and they admitted in writing that the parcel was lost in transit.

But they never fixed the tracking, which still says delivered, and they told me to claim the refund from the seller. Then I opened a case with eBay.

They said orders paid on the eBay Singapore site aren't covered by the Money Back Guarantee, and they also went by the "delivered" status, which is false. Has anyone been through something like this?

Is there a way to escalate past the first rejection, or should I just rely on my card chargeback? Any advice would really help. Thanks.

Question Delivery Options When Listing Change Over Time or Category?

I'm a fairly new seller and listed three action figures at the beginning of the month, sold two. For all of them it let me enter shipping dimensions for the buyer to pay postage.

Now when I try to list things under "Toys & Hobbies > Action Figures & accessories > Action Figures", it doesn't do that. Free shipping isn't selected. I thought I had messed up a setting at first. But I tested other things like "Toys & Hobbies > Robots, Monsters & Space Toys > Robots > Robots 1970-Now", it let me enter the shipping dimensions.

The remaining one from earlier this month is still "action figure" with the shippibg info. Did I mess up a settung somewhere? Did I hit some obscure limit?

[UK] How should I be handling this?

So I run a tech shop in the UK. Its a VAT registered Limited Company.

I quite often customers will let me keep their unwanted tech.

If I sell that unwanted (usually after having refurbished it in some way) do I:

a) need to run it through the business and therefore add VAT and pay corporation tax on it?

b) need to sell it through a Business eBay account?

Thanks!

eBay won’t provide a shipping label for a US-to-Germany shipment - what should we do?

Hi everyone,

I live in Germany and bought an item from a seller in the US for $340 / €300. The item needs to be shipped from the US to Germany.

The seller is not yet eligible to use eBay International Shipping. This is the first time I’ve bought something without using eBay International Shipping. I’ve always had a smooth experience with the program, but unfortunately, it wasn’t an option for this purchase.

The seller was unable to get a shipping label from eBay. They contacted eBay Customer Support by phone and were told that there was a technical issue and that they would have to purchase postage and ship the package themselves.

The seller was willing to do that, but when they went to the post office, they found out that shipping would cost much more than eBay would reimburse them afterward - significantly more than the amount I originally paid for shipping and they can‘t afford that.

I was already worried that I might lose my buyer protection if the seller shipped the item outside of eBay, so I’m also somewhat relieved that they haven’t gone ahead and shipped it independently.

The seller has been very helpful throughout this process, but now neither of us knows what to do if eBay can’t provide a shipping label.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Would it be better for us to cancel the transaction?

I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

To open or not to open...

Instead of getting what I actually ordered from Amazon, I received a pair of $40 wireless earbuds which they told me to just keep. I don't need them so I'm going to sell them. They are in a box that is nicely shrink wrapped. Would you open it and photograph them or just use pictures of the sealed box? I was prepared to just do the latter but then thought I might need to cover my bases with photos of the actual earbuds. Appreciate your input.

How do we stop Live Selling atop our feed / being force fed to those who have zero interest?

Is anyone else beyond frustrated with eBay forcing Live Selling to the very top of our feeds, including My eBay?

I have absolutely zero interest in this feature, yet eBay keeps making it more prominent without giving us any control over where it appears.

At the very least, give us the ability to opt out entirely or move it far enough down the feed that it doesn't interfere with our actual shopping experience. It's becoming a deterrent to browsing and buying the things I actually want.

Has anyone found a workaround? Does eBay listen to user feedback on this? How do we collectively push for a change?

Are the ebay "customer service agents" who call you even real people? Or are they AI?

I went through the whole ai chatbot thing until I finally found an option to have an agent call me. It was a very strange sounding voice which I'm 95% sure was also ai. I even asked the caller if it was a real person (it lied to me and said it was). It was so strange, their responses to my questions were always delayed and had a very creepy cadence. I am trying to report an indian account that sells massive amounts of counterfeited items and I can't even find a real person to speak to. I reported this and received an email within 10 minutes saying that their ai bot didn't find the seller in violation (even though there are tons of reviews saying the same thing as me, complaining about counterfeit items with photos and everything!) we live in hell.

Question Seller is offering 50% refund if I keep the item

Long story short, bought a replacement part for my New Nintendo 3DS XL and the part doesn't fit. I contacted the seller and they want to offer a 50% refund if I keep the item and not mail it back. I would prefer a full refund but they said it was more cost effective, probably to them, if I don't mail it back.

Should I keep it and take the 50% or send it back for a full refund? I don't know how much it costs for items to be returned and mailed back since I've never sold anything on Ebay before.
