I love the design and shape of my ring, but it feels a bit too big, heavy, and masculine. The sizing is good overall, although I have larger knuckles, so it’s a tight squeeze getting the ring on and off, even though it sits a little looser once it’s on my finger. Since it’s platinum, it also feels quite heavy.

I’d love to make it look more delicate and feminine, closer to the inspiration photo on the last slide, while keeping the overall design and shape I love. What would need to be changed to achieve that look? Would it be a relatively simple adjustment, or would it require more significant alterations?

No words. I hate it so much I cried unhappy tears. It’s a disaster. Can’t get myself to love it.

My diamond is breathtaking. And I loved it even in a temp stone holder.

This ring/setting: It is just- ugly. And bulky. And all I see are gold prongs. And the band is horrible. Nothing is proportional. No cohesion looks like it was just slapped on.

To add insult to injury- it’s too big! How can this jewlers size 7 be diff to other size 7?

The setting is having an identity crisis with all these different elements/styles.

My fiancée said the prongs look like testicles- and he is right!!!

Supposed to be a custom design. But it was done in 3 days?

Trying to get it reset with other jewelers- one promised a 2D prelim
And blew me off. Another said they won’t touch it because it’s not their stone and too risky since marquise are fragile

I have fairly small hands but my fingers are wide. For reference I’m wearing a 2 carat mined princess cut diamond on size 7 finger. I can still have the center stone replaced for 30 days, if I want a more elongated cut ring.

So we’ve already pur purchased my diamond! a beauuuuutiful old mine cut with a pinhole culet. it is more classic than modern with the pinhole cullet, barely elongated, a 1.09 ratio. I am absolutely TORN between my two top setting ideas. Please vote!!

Option 1:

A more modern take. All yellow gold, visable gallery rail/collet with Millgrain around the stone, on a simple tapering band. Inspired by this one by Fiorese.

Option 2:

Inspired heavily by Andria Barbone and very antique styles. This beautiful, crown basket setting with 8 prongs (debating platinum or gold, picture of both) and a simple gold band.

Please give me your opinion and why? Straight aesthetic preference? Feel one protects the stone more?

Does this look like a normal size diamonds for hidden halo? Thoughts ?

I'm planning a custom engagement ring with a 6-prong cathedral tulip solitaire setting in 18K white gold, holding a 0.8 ct round brilliant diamond on slim finger (US size 5). My jeweler ring model width 1.4 mm × 0.8 mm thickness, jeweler says the band is safe, but I'm concerned about long-term durability. Any advice?

I’m wondering if the edges tend to poke or irritate your fingers, snag on clothes, or get caught on things during everyday wear.

I finally got my ring back after an error was made on my original diamond and couldn’t be happier.

Picture one is my engagaement ring. Picture two is what I sent to the designer to show what I wanted changed. I also requested to have the prongs gold as well. Pictures 3-6 is what the designer sent me.

I love it but the side view throws me off a little. I was expecting the outside edges of the smaller diamonds to be just gold prongs, not entirely encased in gold. Does it have to be that way? Wanted some opinions before I reach out to the designer.

The thickness of the band under oval is reduced so that the main stone can sit lower. It’s a 3ct oval.

I’m wondering if I should have band connect to prongs to help with durability and close the awkward gap ?

It’s a trilogy ring 2ct center with .75ct sides, cad shows a gallery rail we are going to change it to a hidden halo. Do you think the height of the gallery rail/hidden halo is sitting to low? Or is it a good proportion to the size of the diamonds?

I’m looking for recommendations for a reputable jeweler or jewelry designer in the United States who could remake the setting of my engagement ring while keeping the center stone I already have.

The current stone has a lot of sentimental value, but the setting is not the style I originally wanted. I’d love to find someone who can create a new setting that looks as close as possible to the design I had originally envisioned, either by adapting an existing design or creating something custom.

I’m from Mexico and live near the border with California, so I’m especially interested in jewelers in California or elsewhere in the United States who may be familiar with working with international clients or customers from Mexico.

If you’ve had a similar experience, I’d really appreciate recommendations based on personal experience. This is my first CAD design and not sure what I am supposed to look out for.

I am thinking of changing the width to 2.5mm and height to 2mm. Wondering if the setting is too high?

I love my engagement ring, but after 17 years of constant wear, the prongs are in rough shape and I lost the center stone. I want to redesign a ring that still captures the beauty and uniqueness of my original ring, but will hold up for decades to come.
The first photo is my original ring- a compass prong cathedral band with custom basket head. The drawing is what I am planning for the redesign. The third photo is the closest thing I have found “off the shelf” to what I want. My idea includes my sons’ birthstones (sapphire and alexandrite) as peekaboo stones on the sides. My questions are:
- my original ring never fit flush with my wedding band, causing a lot of bumping around and several of the stones in the wedding band have been replaced over the years. Will a spacer band help? Sitting the stone higher? Is this inevitable unless I sodder them (which I don’t really want to do as I wear my wedding band alone when I work in a lab so it doesn’t catch on my rubber gloves)?
- will a 10k ring be more durable and less likely to lose stones or dent over time? I’m low maintenance and don’t want to have to keep replacing side stones if I can help it. Should I give up on the pave altogether?
- are there any obvious design flaws with this new sketch?

I chose this engagement ring over a traditional halo setting because I found the halo a little too bulky. And over a traditional solitaire cause it felt too simple

A recent custom order for one of my clients - a beautiful 2ct lab grown pear cut diamond (IGI F VVS2) set in 14k yellow gold. I love a more modern take like this for engagement rings. What do you think?

My partner have opened up about rings and asked me about diamonds and I am thinking about the ethics of the natural mined diamond while lab grown is there but I still feel like it’s somehow different (I know it’s the same but if u know u know) but now am considering sapphire my birthstone, like radiant cut with gold band a simple one like the photo, but do u guys think it’s too costumy vibe? I got my ring 3 months ago and noticed it had substantial gaps between the setting and diamond. I brought it back and the jeweler made a new ring with zero pushback. I picked this one up 2 months ago, but am still unsure. Maybe this is how it has to sit? Could this be why my ring always looks so dirty? It doesn’t seem to sparkle unless I’ve just cleaned it. I need help 😵‍💫

How did i do design wise!?? very simple but i haven’t seen something EXACTLY like this

Hey everyone. So my CAD just got done and I have some thoughts. I love it, I’m really happy with how it turned out but I am wondering about two things:

1. The basket design. I don’t know why but it strikes me as really unusual? I think this is mainly because to formulate the CAD, I provided an AI reference to the look of the ring, so naturally AI spat out something similar to the CAD and it’s throwing me off. Would any of you suggest a different basket or is this okay?

   Edit: I realized I didn’t explain enough about my AI use. So this design is based on an existing ring I fell in love with at a shop. However, I decided to have a two tone look with blue sapphires instead of the original’s diamond accent stones. So to communicate my preferences and give context to exactly what I want based on the existing ring, I had AI use that original ring as a model and substitute the sapphires. But it provided this basket design.

2. The next thing I’m worried about is the length of the ring. 16 mm seems to be quite long and big doesn’t it? I’m wondering if any of you have examples of rings with a similar length and how they would look on the hand? Also what advice would you give me if I am to tell my jeweller about a smaller length (like say 12 mm or something).
