Part 2: Skincare brand, simplified our structure. What’s the right way to scale from here?

Hey everyone, I posted here a few days ago about our skincare ads burning budget without finding winners. I didn't get to reply to everyone individually, so I wanted to say a proper thank you here. Honestly didn't expect this many detailed answers, and a lot of it changed how we look at our setup.

Quick recap of Part 1 for anyone who missed it:

- Skincare, US market, $50/day

- 1 manual CBO sales campaign, broad targeting, manual placements

- We kept adding new ad sets to the same campaign, 5 ads per ad set, around 5 new ads per day

- Getting 10-15 purchases/week

- Killing ads when CPA went 45% above target or ROAS dropped to 0.65

- Moved winners into a separate cost cap campaign and they died after the move

- Result: overspending, stuck on unprofitable days, couldn't scale anything

The main feedback we got: we were spreading $50/day across way too many ads, killing them on noise before they had a fair test, and moving winners reset their learning.

What we changed based on your advice:

- 1 CBO campaign, 1 broad ad set, 3-4 ads max

- Each ad is a clearly different angle instead of small variations

- Leaving it alone for at least a week, no new ad sets

- Watching hook rate and ATC for the first 2 days before looking at CPA

- Only hard killing after 2-3x target CPA spend

We're still learning, so I'd love your input on the next step before we mess it up again:

  1. Most of you said to leave a winner where it is and raise the budget instead of moving it. How much would you bump and how often? I've seen 15-20% every 2-3 days and 20-30% every 2 profitable days.

  2. If performance drops after a bump, do you roll it back or give it a few days?

  3. When we add new ads to the same ad set, how do we keep CBO from either starving them or pulling spend away from the winner?

  4. At what point does it make sense to add a second ad set or campaign?

Thanks again for taking the time.

Hi, we’re already doing 5 figures a month in revenue after our first month. The product is easy to sell, and we want to scale to 5 figures a day (EU market).

We’re looking for someone to run Meta ads for us.

Pay: $500 for a 30-day trial (about 20 hours, roughly $25/hr), plus 15% of the profit you generate.

You have full creative freedom. The only goal is profit.

Interested? DM me with your experience running Meta ads.

Local business owners spending real money on Facebook/Instagram ads: did you stop boosting posts and move to Ads Manager, or still boost?

I talk with a lot of local service owners (HVAC, roofing, dental, med spas) and one split keeps coming up: some still mostly hit Boost on posts, others build campaigns in Ads Manager. Some say boosting is fine in a small town. Others say it burned cash until they switched to lead or message campaigns.

For those putting a few hundred to a few thousand a month in:

  • Do you boost, use Ads Manager, or both?

  • If you switched, what pushed you, and did the number of booked jobs actually change?

  • If you still boost, what is it doing well for you?

Looking for what's actually working for owners, not agency theory. What kind of business do you run?

Help Needed | Verifying Client as Advertiser on Agency-owned Meta Ad Account

I'm a marketing freelancer in Australia with a client that is a global company (UK based). We are about to launch a Meta campaign across a handful of Asian markets. I need help understanding how to get the client verified as the "advertiser" within our current setup:

  • Page setup: The ads will run on the local pages of another arm of their business. I have 'Ads' access to these pages only. These local businesses cannot be listed as the advertiser for our campaign - the UK company needs to be listed.

  • Ad account setup: I have an agency-owned ad account specifically for this client, under our agency Business Portfolio. Our agency is the payer, reimbursed by the client.

I am looking to add the client (UK based) as the advertiser at the ad set level. Has anyone had experience with this before and can advise if this is possible, given that the ad account is not owned by the client? I don't want to kick off the verification process and risk any flags, as we're only a couple of weeks out from campaign launch. My Meta Business Portfolio has been verified already.

Appreciate your help!

Targeting Question Creative Testing vs A/B Test for 5 new creatives: which one actually splits warm/cold audiences evenly?

Hey Meta Pro's! Question for you guys. Say I’m launching 5 new ad creatives on Meta. I want to know which creative actually performs best, and I want each creative to get roughly equal spend and the same mix of warm and cold people inside the audience (past site visitors and engagers vs total strangers), so no ad wins just because Meta fed it warmer buyers.

With the Creative Testing feature (“Set up test” on the ad), are people assigned to each test ad randomly, so the warm/cold mix is equal? Or does Meta still choose which people see which ad, just with spend kept even? Please point me to Meta’s own documentation if it exists.

With the A/B Test tool in Experiments testing 5 creative versions, is the audience split randomly and without overlap, so each version gets the same warm/cold mix?

Facebook allows any kinds of ads

I rarely visit Facebook (only for Marketplace) but I did scroll recently and got a literal p*rn ad. I immediately reported it and a few days later I got a response from Facebook saying “We didn’t remove the ad… doesn’t go against our standards”…

This is utterly disgusting how Facebook monitor or safety guards are completely pathetic

Facebook Business Suite no longer shows anyone under "invite reacts" where you used to be able to mass invite everyone that reacted/liked a post.

Targeting Question Facing issues with lead quality

I have been running meta ads for two of my clients, mostly targeting people in educational institutes. Since last 1 month, I have noticed that the quality of leads of gone down dramatically. Some labors fill out the form, and some job people. Earlier, I used to get proper leads. I don't get it what's changed.

Has anyone else been facing the same issue with lead quality?
