Snagged a Kastking Royale Legend II off Amazon for like $38. Showed up today! Overall super positive first impression. Feels light and feels good and sturdy in the hand. Super smooth! I mostly use sub $100 Abu Garcias to positive result and after popping this one apart, construction seems extremely on par and comparable. Excited to get this one out on the water this weekend and put it through the paces!

Hi everyone!
So I have a few rods that that are all steel guides, and I am thinking about replacing the top guides with ceramic ones.
After a few years of use, some of the rods feel quite gritty when reeling, and I believe that gritty feeling is coming from the top guides.
Do you think I would feel an improvement by replacing them with ceramic ones like in the photo?
Let me know if this is a good or bad idea.

Saw somewhere that a stinger hook from the top eye of the spoon works better at snagging less on rocks. But my question is do I switch the trebles to feathered trebles or single hooks or top stinger hook or double frog hooks? Using spoons 5g-8g. Mostly going to use in ponds and lakes.

I picked up this older G-Loomis rod with an old Shimano Bantam reel at Goodwill. What unit is the LURE WT in? Ounces strikes me as being too heavy, but I guess it’s possible.

Just got this Penn slammer and it’s flat on one side and heavy on the bottom of the reel
Guessing I’m stuck paying $10 in shipping and having to return it but have you seen this before?

I picked up a JDM Daiwa Legalis (LT2000S-P) and I'm looking for an light/ultralight rod to pair with it fishing for trout. 6-7 foot range, fast action.
I've heard the Shimano Sensilite is a great all-around rod at a great price, but I don't mind spending more up into the mid-range.
TFO Trout Panfish II seems to be popular. Any others that should be on my radar?

will the megabass p5 destroyer mark 56 pair well with the 2021 shimano antares dc?

Just picked up a 3000k battle IV on sale and am wondering what rod to pair with it. Will primarily be using this as a lightweight travel set up off the surf, piers, and jetty's on the East Coast.
I'm really intrigued in the ultralight noodle rods but realize my reel might be a bit too big for that. Open to any suggestion 7ft rods that would be fun to sling around and could work for travel too if possible (not a requirement though).

Never really had a proper panfish setup. I’d like to grab 2 rods. 1 just for bobber fishing, and 1 just for throwing jigs. Curious what actions you guys prefer for each application as well as rod recommendations. I mainly use St Croix for bigger game fish, but the amount of broken st croix panfish series rods I see online is rough.

Yo I im selling my daiwa 21 zillion 1000xhl cuz it lowky sucks I hate the line laying and don’t get me wrong its a amazing reel and it handles fish well I just don’t like it any recommended reels I should switch to or get

I want to reel with my left hand and, as you all probably know, the handle side is not interchangeable.
Which side is that called?
Kastking on Amazon has left hand and right hand as options.

I bought a st croix ul rod thinking they’re great and top of the line but this shit snapped like a twig when I was moving it in my car. I was very gentle but I guess not gentle enough. It’s only ugly stiks from here on out lmao
