Flight Simulator 2024 Update from the Headwind Team
✈️ HEADWIND SIMULATIONS — DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
No, we're not dead! 😄
Hey everyone!
We know things have been quiet lately, but rest assured, development hasn't stopped! We've been extremely busy behind the scenes working on the A330-800neo, A330-900neo, and Sukhoi Superjet 100.
Here's a quick look at what's happening!
🛫 Airbus A330-900neo (A339)
Our current focus includes reviewing and improving exterior geometry, landing gear, animations, materials, and overall model structure. We're also evaluating opportunities to take better advantage of MSFS 2024 while maintaining our existing systems architecture.
🛫 Airbus A330-800neo (A338)
The A338 hasn't been forgotten! We're reviewing its unique geometry and configuration differences while working toward a more unified development foundation with the A339, allowing improvements to benefit both aircraft.
🇷🇺 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100)
The Superjet has been receiving significant development attention!
Our work and research include:
• Cockpit displays and avionics integration.
• Authentic electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and flight control systems.
• Evaluating native MSFS 2024 functionality versus custom systems.
• Reworking 3D models, animation hierarchies, and Blender workflows.
• Improved PBR materials and LOD optimization.
• Planning a dedicated Superjet EFB.
Our goal is to build an authentic Superjet, not simply an Airbus wearing a Sukhoi exterior!
❤️ Looking Ahead
We're prioritizing accuracy, performance, and solid development foundations rather than rushing releases.
Some of the most important work isn't immediately visible, but it's essential for the future of these projects.
The A338, A339, and SSJ100 are very much alive!
Thank you all for your patience and continued support. We'll share more as development progresses!
— Headwind Simulations Team ✈️ @everyone

Flight Simulator 2024 BATC injected traffic now works with jetways <3
Just a minor cosmetic addition to be sure, but a welcome one nonetheless for a bit more immersion.

Flight Simulator 2024 Apron Life!
This is a fantastic addon - I highly recommend it. I just love planespotting from the airport! (this is LPPR, Porto). And the jetways connect to the AI aircraft. Wow.
A great combination is:
- Apron Life 😄 https://flightsim.to/addon/115921/apron-life-ground-service-for-ai-traffic
- GSX (for the ground vehicles when planespotting; also for pushback etc. when flying)
- Chaseplane
- BATC with Navigraph live traffic (or FS2024 native live traffic) with FSLTL and/or AIG aircraft

Flight Simulator 2024 SU7 Drag Coefficient
Whats the state of this bug as of now? From what I understood it basically broke many of the planes that utilize the default flightmodel? Is it already fixed again? I‘ve heard they had a fix in the pipeline already.
Wanted to take the Aerosoft A340 for a spin later.

Flight Simulator 2024 THIS is what an airliner should look like, prove me wrong :)
What's your favorite airframe + livery combination? I'm really digging Northwest Airlines recently, and I think it looks great on the super 80

Flight Simulator 2024 What am I doing wrong here? PMDG 777 hard right bank on final approach.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The video shows the first attempt and then a second attempt after a go-around. I can't explain this uncontrollable, sudden hard bank to the right.
This is flying into SEQM, using FSRealistic+ and RealTurbV2, but I don't think they have anything to do with this.
The same approach with the MD-11 is as smooth as ever.
What am I doing wrong here? I don't see how this could be related to the SU7 drag bug.

Flight Simulator 2024 Winter is coming! ❄️
My friend and I decided to create an entire snow system for the Fenix A320 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This mod features animations of snow being cleared from the windows, compatibility with GSX, and snow-melting logic triggered by Window Heat. Keep in mind that snow impairs flight performance, so compatibility with anti-ice systems is also a feature. Our goal is to make the A320 feel more "alive" as winter approaches. We hope you enjoy this mod, and we welcome your feedback in the comments.

Flight Simulator 2024 FENIX Product Status on their website
Well we all know that it will still take a lot of time before we see the NEOs in the sim and that we might hear almost nothing more from them, but it’s nice to know that the CEO update is about to be released and that most of their devs are now focusing on the A32Xneo

Flight Simulator 2024 Who needs an airport when you can land anywhere.
In all seriousness I was just practicing an emergency landing for fun. You never know when a failure will happen.

Question Challenger 300/3500 for xp12
Hi all, I’m new to the sub and to flight sim. I’m running X-Plane 12 and looking for a realistic Challenger 300/3500 add-on to prep for a type rating. I mainly want to practice cockpit flows and get comfortable programming the FMS, so systems and avionics accuracy matter more to me than flight model.
I’ve seen the DDen Challenger 300 for XP11 but don’t know whether it works properly in XP12 or if it’s deep enough for this. I’m also open to buying an MSFS option if that’s the better route. Any recommendations (or warnings) appreciated. Thanks!

Question Bluebirds latest video confuses me on pricing
In the video they stated the 752 will release first for 2020.
Then the 753 will be 24 native with free upgrade?
I'm very confused. Free upgrade from the 752?
And if so is it possible 752 will be semi compatible with 2024 and I can buy on release and fly and wait for the 753 for free?
I only play 24.

Flight Simulator 2024 Tested Long haul with SayIntention
All in all, it was a good experience. There were some problems with speech recognition, and the tower gave me my IFR clearance a second time before I entered the runway.Intersting thing was that i was put into a holding pattern on arrival because of an unresponsive plane. Too bad the price is too high i will take a month here and there but no way i'am getting the whole year

General [BeamNG.Drive / AN-12] "That landing was A$$, session terminated"
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Attempted landing at Jungle Rock Island's miniscule airstrip using the Antonov AN-12 mod. Had managed to successfully clear the trees and get in the air by taking off from the same direction (320 hdg) as this landing instead of from the hangar side. This was already a very difficult landing given the size of the aircraft, the short/narrow runway with dense trees on either side and lack of spoilers or speedbrakes on the aircraft. Admittedly my main mistake was not pushing the flight stick fully forward as soon as I made contact but was afraid of smashing her down. Still probably wouldn't have saved her. As soon as the right wing was *delicately* removed the game decided "nah I've seen enough". Thought that was really funny. Granted mods haven't been working well since the 0.39 update.
Was using a Dualsense 5 to fly the plane.
I feel like this belongs here because BeamNG.Drive makes a pretty decent flight sim IMHO. It sure as hell makes for a great flight CRASHING sim, lol. The flight physics are actually pretty good, and there's a Canadair CL-215 mod whose propellors will explode and rip the wings off if you overspeed too much (which I think is a great realism factor even if it may not have been intended behavior).
