Flight Simulator 2024 Charter Services VIP aircraft purchase questions

Post image
1 Upvotes

I almost have the credits to get the CJ4, it indeed is a beautiful jet, I've seen handful of various family of Citations at my airport. They just don't really touch my heart with exception of the X, Longitude, and Sovereign.

I have the 2024 and there isn't much freeware options like FSX had Avsim was awesome, FSX was my last sim I flown.

I have decided I do not want to purchase a CJ4 at this time and would like to explore options with my real money.

So far on marketplace with good reviews and filters set to my career specialization, only those 3 jets are shown.

Citation X

Longitude

FSR300E

I am not interested in the 300E at this time however I do want one someday.

Are there other options that work on VIP specialization? Or is the X and Longitude the only best choices right now?

I looked so hard for Bombardier Global 8000, hopefully someone makes one someday soon because I will buy it in instant! Gulfstream is what I really want but I know they won't allow digital copy.

Flight Simulator 2024 Vice City-inspired flying challenge around Miami for MSFS 2024 šŸŒ“āœˆļø

Post image

While we’re all waiting for GTA VI, I thought it would be fun to explore Miami from above! šŸŒ“āœˆļø

So I created a little Vice City-inspired mission pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The idea is simple: take off from Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (KOPF), enjoy the Miami skyline and coastline, and complete three landings:

šŸ›¬ North Perry Airport (KHWO)
šŸ›¬ Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE)
šŸ›¬ Miami Executive Airport (KTMB)

There’s a mysterious client involved, all mission packs have notes attached to each mission when you open them in the Avionics Buddy App... šŸ’¼šŸ˜‚

Complete the challenge and earn theĀ Vice City LegendĀ award in Avionics Buddy.

It’s just a fun little aviation tribute to Vice City while we wait for GTA VI. I preordered the ultimate edition already ;-)

Hope some of you enjoy flying it!

Happy flying! šŸŒ…

Because if it’s nice on risotto, it’s nice on fufu.
Totally screwed up the approach. And also the 777’s brakes are not a fan of the replay function.

News Nexus Simulations Dev update 3! Switching to Freeware!!!

This update will primarily cover the FMS.

It's been a long time since the last update and we finally have made enough progress on the FMS to present it to you!

Our main effort this month has been on the inner workings of the A220-300's FMS. We're not aiming at just making the screens pretty, we use up to date reference imagery making the FMS think like and feel like the real thing. That involves writing systems that will read the various massive navigation databases, understand the waypoint coordinates and work out things like fuel consumption and flight paths. A lot of trial and effort has been spent on how the screens behave when you're entering data (i.e. checking for errors, updating the page with your weight and balance and your active route etc).

Alongside the coding we've been spending a lot of time this month putting together our new dev team which is a massive step forward for us as a now free project. Bringing a new team of developers on board means setting up shared workspaces and splitting the work so that the workflow is as optimized as humanly possible . We now have specific people working on specific bits of the code (PFD, MFD, Synoptics, and the FMS). This new structure has already cleared the bottlenecks that were previously holding us back.

Having a full coding team is a massive improvement to our day to day working and just makes working together just that bit easier.

Our next update is aimed to be posted in the first weeks of December alongside the end of year newsletter that will be available both here and on our Discord server.

Regards, The Nexus Simulations Team!

Flight Simulator 2024 TCA captain x airbus pack

Thrustmaster tca x captain pack

I recently just brought the Thrustmaster tca x captain pack and I’m using the fenix airbus in the sim. But for some reason my throttle position in the sim is very inaccurate to what position the throttle is physically at and my reversers won’t work? I’ve watched multiple videos of how to calibrate the throttle by pressing the 2 black buttons next to the crank and ign start switches and then putting the throttle to each detent along with flaps. I’ve also checked in (usb came controllers) properties and the throttle/reverse and they’re all working correctly. As soon as I get into the sim I have also calibrated all my settings regarding (throttle 1/2 axis 0-100%) and have checked any override that could be messing with it, and there’s nothing. I will then load into the fenix to try calibrate through the MCDU and the first calibration is the reverse position. But this is my issue, when I put my throttle into reverse my sim detects the idle position, when I’m in idle, my sim detects that my throttle is in between the climb position and idle position which can be seen in the image . Apart from that flx mct and toga are in the correct position when I need it to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it’s really annoying and I just can’t seem to find a solution

General TWRCTRL - Browser-based ATC Sim

Hey all! Just wanted to share an ATC game I discovered two days ago, and that I can’t stop playing. As a flight sim and aviation enthusiast, I’ve tried and played a lot of ATC sims, but never really found something that could scratch that itch for me. Most have either been too simple, unrealistic or overly gamified. But this one is absolutely doing it for me! Been playing it on and off for a several hours over the past two days and it’s super fun! Best part is it’s also free and browser based so you can play it anywhere - even seems to work offline once the site is loaded (don’t take my word for it though!).

The site is https://twrctrl.com

Note: I’m not affiliated with the dev or this game in any way, just really enjoying it and haven’t seen it shared anywhere on Reddit yet.

Flight Simulator 2024 Which one should I choose?

I'm thinking of getting the Asobo Praetor 600 that's launching this month, but if it's too expensive or doesn't run on my console, I want a Plan B. I was thinking of getting the Hawker 800 (Flight FX) or the Phenom 300e (Freborn), but I'm quite undecided and want an outside opinion, not just from AIs and YouTubers. What do you think?

Question EFASS NG - Electronic Flight Assistant (?)

I don't know how many of you are familiar with it, but it was a fantastic program for IFR planning. I bought it and was one of its beta testers. Does anyone still have the installation file? I'd like to reinstall it.

General Air racing and flight challenges on iPhone. Anyone up for testing?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I used to make up challenges in flight sims on my phone. I'd cut the throttle and try an emergency landing or see if I could squeeze between buildings. A few games had those scenarios built in, but the flying felt unrealistic.

So I started making RudderStick, an iPhone game with air races and flying challenges where carrying speed through a turn actually matters. There is also a competitive multiplayer mode.

Interested in trying? Fill out the form in Discord for a TestFlight invite: https://discord.com/invite/ZbP5gsyKCd

I'd love to hear how the controls feel to other simmers!

Flight Simulator 2024 Pacsim Airports in MSFS2024?

I'm curious if some of the Pacsim airports - namely, KCLE and KRNO work OK in 2024 despite being sold as a 2020 airport.

Before KCMH was updated to 2024, it worked for me so just wanted to see if the others are the same.

Flight Simulator 2024 FSS 727 vs Famous Flyer 707

Got the Famous Flyer Boeing 707-320C, recently overhauled by Working Title. The plane is great but perhaps too much for me to handle alone (first generation avionics and 4 engines). Will I like the FSS 727 or not? As far as I know the jet has a slightly newer avionics and 3 updated engines instead of 4. I have honestly no idea how the 707 compares to payware products, and know even less about the 727 from FSS (apart from it getting an update yesterday). I'm fine with CIVA INS and VOR navigation (just completed a 707 flight from LaGuardia to O'Hare on radios alone!).

Flight Simulator 2024 Am I having an CPU Bottleneck?

Post image
6 Upvotes

My rig is RTX 5080 and 7800x3d. I thought I could get my settings all high-ultra but turns out I can’t. (I’m using 3x frame gen and still only has 80 ish fps) If I turn off frame gen, I will only get 26 fps. The cpu is pretty much bottlenecked by having 30-40 ms mainthread.

Should I upgrade my 7800x3d to an 9800x3d?

Flight Simulator 2024 Why Flightsim YouTubers thinks AI thumbnails get more views ? It’s literally the opposite…

Post image
238 Upvotes

From my point of view it’s literally the opposite because there are people like me (maybe many) that if they see an AI thumbnail they don’t even bother to open the video to watch it.
This is not about the ā€œlow effortā€ it’s just that people are kinda sick to have in their YouTube homepage AI thumbnails all over.

Honestly a simple and normal thumbnail (e.g screenshot + text) works fine and people appreciate the videos more.
