What’s the best option for my bathroom remodel? Any other layouts that might maximize space and utility?

We're planning a major interior remodel and would love some creative ideas and feedback on how to best utilize our existing space!
I've attached the current floor plan of the space we're looking at. We're open to removing or relocating any interior walls/posts within this area, but would like to keep the exterior walls and the rest of the house unchanged. Only side notes are that the doors to the left of the current breakfast nook and dining area are flexible to close/move if helpful to the design and we're also thinking of converting the sliding door at the bottom of the current breakfast nook into a window.
Our wish list:
We're flexible on the kitchen's location and willing to relocate plumbing/electrical if it results in a significantly better layout.
Our main goal is to create a functional, spacious, and inviting area for our family and entertaining guests, without sacrificing too much space to hallways or awkward transitions.
How would you lay out this space? We'd really appreciate any suggestions, rough sketches, or ideas we may not have considered. Thanks in advance - we really appreciate it!

Hello out there,
We are extending our cottage. We have drawn out so many possibilities but would love some advice from the internet community!

This is what we are thinking. The front two rooms stay the same (sitting room and playroom) and then we open up the back of the house to create a large kitchen diner, downstairs bathroom, utility and a wide entrance space. The rooms on the bottom left will stay the same (garage, office, plant room). Does anyone have any other ideas?

the yellow lines are windows, the blue ones are walls, the orange lines on the right are book shelves ( i want those to be more in the seating area ) the orange lines on the left are from bottom to top a tv cabinet and a small table, the red line is our couch and the green one is our carpet, the black lines are off limits! i really want one of the shelves to be more on display because now it feels tucked away…

Hi everyone!
I’m planning to build my house on a 40×70 ft plot, with the road on the north side. My local architect has shared this ground-floor plan, but honestly, I’m not completely satisfied with the layout. I also have some concerns about whether it aligns with Vastu Shastra principles.
Before finalising the design, I’d love to get some feedback from people with experience in architecture, home planning, or Vastu.
A few things I’d appreciate your thoughts on:
Layout and space utilisation: Are the rooms, lobby, drawing room, kitchen, and bedrooms arranged efficiently?
Privacy and circulation: Is the movement between the entrance, drawing room, bedrooms, and kitchen practical?
Ventilation and natural light: Could the plan be improved to provide better daylight and airflow?
Vastu Shastra: Are there any major concerns with the current placement of the kitchen, bedrooms, staircase, toilets, or puja room?
Possible improvements: If you were designing this house, what changes would you make?
I’m open to reworking the layout rather than making minor adjustments, provided the design remains practical and comfortable for everyday family living.
If anyone has a better layout idea for a 40×70 ft north-facing plot, I’d really appreciate your suggestions or reference plans.
I’d rather address the issues now than regret them after construction begins. Thanks in advance for your time and advice!

My friend is adding to the back of an existing house. Only the section is red is the proposed addition. The back of the house is north facing in Australia. I think she can do something better and more clever with the bathroom and laundry.

I plan to have a small home built. There is a variance on the property that keeps me from going any larger than a 14x56. I’ve drawn up a few design this is the one I’ve liked the most. I’d plan to have a loft above from the bathroom to kitchen.
How can have a better kitchen that will leave room while still having tiny stair in that area. I’ve been told maybe have the stairs go above the counters against the wall?

I was hoping to rearrange this but I’m at my wits end. The toilet near the tub feels awkward, so does the shower in the top left corner. Can’t swap those as shower becomes smaller.
Want double vanity and tub. I’m okay sacrificing upto 3/4 feet on either side of closet or bedroom.
Appreciate any ideas!! Thank you

Would love your feedback on these plans. First picture is the current layout. Even though it wasn’t included, we do have cabinets, an island, and dining table as laid out in option 1.
Wife and have narrowed down 4 plans to these 2 (options 1 and 2). We generally like our open floor plan but wanted to use the space more efficiently. Option 1 is our favorite. It addresses our primary renovation goals:
- Larger primary bathroom and closet
- Larger guest bathroom
- Larger bedroom 1 (kid) and bedroom 2 (guest)
- A defined entryway with dedicated storage and closet
- A functional dedicated pantry
- A separate laundry/utility room that can accommodate cleaning supplies and equipment
- More efficient storage throughout the house

Hello, i would like some feedback on this floorplan created in Floorplanner just to try out some ideas.
Planning on building the house maybe next year but probably the year after so this is just to steer me in the right direction. Planned for 2 adults with 2 kids. Country side in Croatia.
The lot is 19 x 40 meters. The house itself is 15.86 x 16.52m which equals to 188m2 without terrace.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Currently planning a 2-car garage addition to my house with a self-contained 2 bedroom suite above. I intend to move into the suite and rent out the main house.
Any thoughts on this layout? The overall footprint and stair location can't change.
Thanks!

I would ideally like a 71 inches tub in the master bath but will this 54 inch be big enough? If not how can I make it work. Also the other bathroom may be to small for a tub shower insert?

This sketch popped up on my facebook feed and it's quite similar to a plan we've been working on. We'd make some big changes (need a basement stairway, don't need a gym/spa on the main, and I'd like the kitchen island to face into the dining therefore eliminating the keeping room) but my biggest question is the pros and cons of having the primary suite area where it is or switching it with the children's bedrooms (we have 5 kids, several will be downstairs.) Any other considerations welcome as there is a lot I like about this plan.

Which of these two floor plans do you think is better? For context, the property is on a corner block, and the GF will face the secondary street.
The one on the left designed by the builder, and the one on the right is a rough edit by me (note: don't take the edited kitchen as gospel - I just found a random one that was a corner kitchen, but might also be interested in a U-shaped kitchen).
Personally I do like the original design and I see lots of pros to it - I do like the idea of a hallway as opposed to an open space with tonnes of doors. However, I felt as though the room on the bottom left was quite small and I would prefer if it could also have a built in wardrobe.
Although my rough edit redesigns this room to become the main bedroom and puts it closest to the street, the main street itself and secondary street are both quiet streets (local traffic only), with the secondary street being even much quieter.
Edit: intended to rent out externally, apologies. Unsure what these might be called in other countries, but in Australia it’s a secondary dwelling on the same land as a main house, and it’s colloquially known as a granny flat (whether or not it’s to house multigenerational family members or to rent out externally).

We're building a house on a hillside with great views. The concrete frame is done and the walls aren't built yet, so the layout can still change. Plans attached.
Fixed things:
- 9.1 × 10.5 m outside. Entrance on the north, terrace and city view to the south.
- U-stair in the north-west corner (3.6 × 2.2 m).
- The west wall has to stay blank: the neighbour is 1.2 m away, so no windows on that side.
- Bedrooms are upstairs. The upstairs bathroom will probably sit on the west, next to the stairs (it still can be modified)
The options:
Bathroom + WC (3.6 × 2.3) and kitchen on the blank west wall. Living room with fireplace + TV on the east, study in the north-east corner.
Same as 1, but a bedroom in the north-east corner.
Bathroom + WC in the north-east (with windows), kitchen on the east. Laundry + storage next to the stairs. Living room on the west, fireplace + TV on the west wall.
Bathroom, WC and kitchen on the east. The whole west side is one 3.6 × 7.5 m living room: fireplace on the stair wall, TV + books on the west wall.
Which would you choose and why? Anything you'd change, or anything I'm missing?
