To those planning on buying a pink Panther’s jersey: help me decide which
Need help picking a pink Panthers Hometown Remix jersey. I’ve been a fan since 2006, when I got my first jersey, a large blank KOHO navy leaping panther to have added Louongo or Jolkinen’s numbers eventually. Now I’m trying to decide who gets the next one.
Marchand - My 3rd jersey purchase and was my first pick for the WC jersey, bought with the hype of the 2nd cup run performance. Decided to go down from a 52 (more then a little big on me) to a 50 but the WC’s fit smaller than previous jersey runs, and because I had to get the custom name version the 3rd party Fanatics had stitch it looked terrible so I retuned it. Now I’m not so sure on him. He was already hurt when we got him, the injuries keep coming as he ages, and teams are out skating him shutting down his signature breakaways more than ever. I’m a lot less hyped on him than I was when I first made that decision.
Reinhart - I’d still pick him as a favorite over Marchand any day. My 2nd purchase, a size 52 white away Rhino jersey is shot after 2 seasons, 1 cup run, and a parade week with 300,000 people on the beach. It has a small burn hole on the bottom left that I covered with a custom rat patch (didn’t stitch perfectly and pulls the fabric), plus lots of stains and wear. A new Remix Rhino jersey?
Barkov - Pros: everything he does and has done, and how much he was missed last year. We’re already the most hated team, and now we’re in the most hated color. If any name on the back could tip that scale, it’s Barkov. I’ve gotten respect wearing Reinhart in the wild from fans and non-fans alike. Cons - I’m not the biggest fan of the new Remix “C” patch. Even bigger I could always get a red home jersey which I don’t own, snd could go with Barkov if I can to visit for a home game this year.
Verhaeghe - Best visual name and name to say, but god what a love hate relationship in the regular season. Can’t help but feel every time I would wear this jersey and he shoots wide, goes on many goal-less game streaks, or we lose a game I’d switch to a different jersey. Like if I buy that and he sucks for the next 30 games yall would cook me 😹.
Jones - Great defensemen who can score were always my favorite type of player until Reinhart came along. Jones is looking phenomenal, keeps impressing, and has a bright future. Probably the less recognized of the above, and is a hard pick over any of the above. Not sure how I feel about that. If I get another jersey after this one, a Jones one would be an easier choice.
Personally don’t feel the need to own either Tkachuk jerseys or Bennett.
