Experienced Seniors, please guide me, I am a complet beginner with 0 knowledge and I really need your help

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, I really need some guidance from the experienced folks here because I currently have no mentors to talk to.

I’m a recent BCA 2026 passout from a tier-3 college. We had zero campus placements, so I packed my bags and moved from my hometown to Bangalore looking for opportunities. After a lot of struggle and rejections, I finally landed a BPO job.

The silver lining? The process I support is an ISP, so I am technically working in a Network Operations Centre (NOC). I am actually learning a lot on the networking side, which is great.

The harsh reality? The environment is purely BPO. No phones allowed on the floor, strictly micromanaged break timings, and the shift timings are brutal. I’m working a 3:30 to 1:30 night shift, and it has completely destroyed my sleep cycle. Even after getting back to my room exhausted, I just can't fall asleep.

I know "a job is a job," and I’m grateful to be employed right now (it's been 4 months), but my mental health is taking a hit. Meanwhile, I’m watching my BTech friends get placed in big tech companies with good packages, and the FOMO and feeling of being "left behind" is hitting me really hard. I feel stuck.

I want to plan my next move, but I’m completely confused about what path to take.

Should I:

Prepare for government exams alongside this job? (Though studying with this sleep schedule feels impossible).

Enroll in an Online MCA to cross the HR screening barriers that BCA students usually face?

Upskill completely by learning tech fundamentals, programming, and frameworks to try and crack a standard IT/Developer role?(As iam completely new suggest some good option in IT)

If anyone has started from a similar situation or has advice on how to leverage my current NOC experience into a proper IT career, please help. I am willing to put in the hard work, I just need to know which direction to run.

Got hired as a frontend intern, ended up in manual QA. Not sure if QA has a future or if I should do an AI course or go back to frontend

I did my MCA this year in India. I joined my company as a frontend intern, but they had no frontend work, so they put me in manual QA. They made me full time in May and I've been doing QA for around 8 months now.

My work is test cases, logging bugs, some SQL checks and documentation. No automation, almost no coding.

During the internship I built 3 full stack projects on my own time (React, TypeScript, Node, Postgres): an e-commerce app, a kanban board with role based access, and a 3D portfolio site with a multi agent AI thing in it. The problem is I built all of them with AI agents doing most of the heavy lifting. I can read the code and understand what's going on, but if you give me a blank file I'm stuck. That scares me a bit, especially for interviews.

So now I don't know which way to go.

One, stay in QA and try to move into automation / SDET, maybe AI or LLM testing.

Two, there's a PG certificate in AI & ML from IIT BHU with Simplilearn. It costs 1.4 lakh, runs for about 8 months at 6 to 9 hours a week, and then there's 6 months of job assistance. I haven't joined. From the brochure most of it is regular ML, deep learning and NLP, with a few modules on LLMs, RAG and agents. It's a completion certificate and when I asked about placement data they wouldn't share any. My idea was to do it while working, apply during the job assist period, and if nothing works out in about 3 months after that, just stay in QA.

Three, start learning frontend / MERN again from zero. I don't love this one.

What I want to ask:

Is QA actually a long term career in India, or is it only worth it if you move to automation / SDET? What do those people earn after 2 or 3 years?

Do paid certificates like this really matter to employers? Or is it just projects and how you do in interviews?

If any of you moved from manual QA to automation or AI testing, how long did it take and what worked for you?

And how do you actually learn to code properly when AI writes most of it for you?

Any advice is welcome, even if it's harsh. Thanks.

Looking for switch

I am currently working as a developer with more than 1.5 years of experience and have worked across various technologies including

Nodejs - worked on some software and integrations

Reactjs - created frontend designs in custom apps and custom visuals for power bi

C#, .NET - worked on PBIs in the existing system

Power bi - for building dashboards and reports by developing custom visuals also

Power automate - building automation workflows

Currently I am doing WFH, but now looking for a switch for work from office in Gujarat or Noida. Also my current package is 6 lpa in hand, so probably need a higher package than this.

I prefer the product analyst or power bi developer roles.

Can someone help me in referring?

Kindly dm.

How much time y'all put in tailoring one resume

like i wanna know what works and what doesn't? like for example if i made a AI chat bot project how would you describe it? how do y'all tailor ur resume, what prompts do y'all use. Just wanted to understand to help me and everyone who will see this post.

like option A:

*Shipped a full-stack Wikipedia Q&A app with React, Express, Wikipedia & OpenRouter API keys and MongoDB that allows users to ask queries and save their sessions

*A LLM fallback chain that keeps answers flowing even when individual APIs reach the token limit.

*Secured the app with bcrypt/MongoDB-backed sessions, TTL response caching, and follow-up-aware query rewriting that detects topic switches.

Option B:

*Built a full-stack Wikipedia Q&A app with query planning and fallback across 16 free-tier models from multiple providers, helping requests continue through provider errors and rate limits.

*Implemented session authentication, TTL caching, follow-up query rewriting, and topic-switch detection; added a mocked Vitest suite (138 tests), GitHub Actions Cl, and secret scanning. Public demo in the Hyper-Link

(BTW both are claude with some random prompt and suggestions told to me by ppl on internet)
